Buried under a gazillion missed calls, unopened emails, and countless unread text messages sits a message from an unknown number. She's lying in bed, deleting messages from co-workers and bosses without reading them - it's probably not like she has a job to go back to anyway - and the unknown number ruins her streak of deletion.

She debates for a while whether she should open it, considers the likelihood of the message being spam, but something about the short preview she can see piques her interest.

When she finally decides to open the message, she can't believe what she's reading. She remains quiet for a moment, staring at the note with open mouth, before she bursts into a fit of sarcastic laughter. He really had some nerve to reach out to her like this.

"they're gone. they're all gone." Amity thought, she had bottled up all her feelings about her family to participate in the fight. but now there wasn't a fight.

"Amity, you okay?" Willow asked, she could read the looks on Amity's face as it was her own. "Yeah, i'm fine." Amity said quickly, not making eye contact. "Are you sure?" Willow said, she knew she wasn't. "yeah" Amity said. "Okay." Willow said, she gave Amity the benefit of the doubt.

Amity sat down in a corner on the floor, she didn't know where to put her hands. She was trying to take up as little space as possible. Luz had saw her and sat down next to her, putting her hand on top of hers and squeezing it. "Amity, we're gonna find a way back, okay?" Amity couldn't say anything, so she gave a small nod.

Camila had asked Luz to explain what happened and she got up to talk to her. Amity was now left alone with her thoughts. Her brain went to the worst case-scenario, her breathing got heavier little by little, but it got to the point where her hands started to shake and she couldn't stop them. Willow had noticed quickly and dashed to her quickly.

"Amity? what's wrong?" Willow asked concerned. "Ems gone, Ed's gone, Everyones gone Willow, Its my fault for leaving, its my fault, i don't even know if my dad or the twins are alive." Amity now had tears in her eyes, her breathing becoming heavier by the second. Luz had stopped talking and got up to sit down and look at her girlfriend. "Ams?"

Amity couldn't feel anything around her, she felt herself drowning into a deep abyss. Her eyes were shut and her hands turned into fists. "Amity stop. look at me" Willow said, showing up four fingers "put a hand on your chest and follow my breathing." Amity slowly opened her eyes and put her sweaty hand on her chest and followed her breathing.

Luz held her other hand, occasionally planting a kiss on her hand. "Ams, you okay?" Luz asked, after the lavender haired girl calmed down. Amity still couldn't form words so she nodded. Luz had stayed with amity holding her hand until she was ready to talk.

"I'm sorry" we're the first words Amity was able to say. "For what? its okay hermosa, you don't need to be sorry for anything" Amity was able to whisper a thank you to Luz for sticking with her. Camila looked at the two with a smug face. "So you two are dating?"

Amity and Luz's faces turned a beet red, with the both only being able to nod.

yes. the piece about siblinghood being the only two people in the boat. i don't have the energy to find it rn but that haunts me forever it is, to me, the essence of having a sibling near your age. it also works really well for self v. self warring in any context i think my wips haunt me tho haha. every time i go to write they stare at me menacingly :( /lh

i had recently been broken up with (literally 3 days prior) and it hurt me a lot, and i saw this dead mockingbird as i was walking around my neighborhood. i basically wrote this as soon as i got home. when i first drafted this it was more about me and less about the dead bird, and the syntax was a little different. i don't have a copy of the earlier version tho sorry :(

ummmm idk! i don't think my process is weird? i have an idea, i make a google doc, i title the google doc, i start writing, [category 9 autism event], i stop writing, i sometimes finish the fic. if it's poetry i always finish it in one sitting. maybe my screen format? all my writing is in courier new. it's 16 pt font for my poetry, which are black text on a white doc, and it's 14 pt font for my fics, which are #f1c232 on a #212121 page (i.e. dark yellow on dark grey). it has to be that way or i can't write comfortably

it basically opens with the opening scene of into the spiderverse. luz, like miles is rushing to pack to go to school. from there, she meets her roommate, blah blah blah, gets bitten by a spider, blah blah blah, becomes spider woman

i had to mess with roles a bit but pretty much: luz is miles, amity is gwen, eda is peter b parker/spider woman AND uncle aaron but not prowler (it’s complicated i’ll explain in a sec). willow is ganke. idk about gus, but maybe miles’s other roommate in the comics? i had to mesh universes but hunter is harry osborn and belos is norman.

re: the eda thing, she was naturally peter/spider woman, but i also wanted her to be an already present figure in luz’s life, so she’s uncle aaron if that makes sense.

this is NOT a multiverse thing. it’s more like the original ultimate comics with miles

re: the harry/hunter and norman/belos thing: basically, norman osborn and the green goblin are more of a thing from the original spider-man 616 comics so i’m combining them to make more sense. norman/belos owns a big company and harry/hunter is his son. belos is secretly the goblin (i’m coming up with a clever nickname trust)

does that make sense? probably not. feel free to ask about it, it gives me an excuse to nerd out

i’m planning for the first one to just be an origin story/oneshot, and then a few more stories after that. if i’m really ambitious, i’d like to do a clone arc and/or venom arc, i think that would be fun. (ask me about that too i dare you /j)
