“Have you seen Daniel’s new post on Insta?” Her performance coach asked her, scrolling through his own phone while they took a break.

Y/N shook her head, not having been on the social media app that day. “No, why?”

“He talks about you.” He grinned, handing his phone over to her with the post ready on the screen.

Daniel had updated his Instagram with a clip of an interview he had done, where he’s asked about which women in his life inspire him.

He starts off by speaking about his grandmothers and their move from Italy to Australia. Daniel also mentions his mother and the support she has given him.

“From an athletic point of view, there’s 2 people that come to mind. My, uh, former colleague and friend, Y/N Y/L,” he laughed, “her entire story on how she came into Formula 1 is very inspiring and she has brought a lot of positive change into the sport,”

“But she’s also a great person and she always has something incredible to say,” Daniel teased his younger friend, “so, yeah, Y/N is definitely an inspiration to me.”

The woman had a soft smile on her face throughout watching the entire video, touched by Daniel’s words.

She gave her coach’s phone back and grabbed her own from her bag, deciding to leave a comment under Daniel’s post.

The official F1 Instagram account had also made a post dedicated to the female driver which had been reposted by several drivers on their Instagram stories like George, Carlos, Valtteri, Esteban and even Lando.

The McLaren driver had called her “my goat 🐐” in his caption, something that had made her chuckle.

The best message she had gotten for the special day, came from none other than Sebastian Vettel.

It was a shock to her when the German send her a text message as she hadn’t heard from him in a while, she figured he wanted the time for himself and his loved ones.

hello! hope you’re having a good day so far 🧡 unfortunately, i haven’t had the best day. when i came home from college this afternoon, my dad told me that my mom sadly passed away 😞 it’s already been hard trying to process her passing ‘cause everytime i see photos of her, i can’t help but tear up (one part of me even wishes that this was all some horrible nightmare and i’d wake up to see her healthy and happy) and it’ll definitely take awhile before i can fully move on. i was wondering if i could have some headcanons of the bucci gang comforting their crush or (s/o) whose mother passed away? if this is upsetting/triggering for you, feel free to ignore this <3 ty anyway!!

Bruno Bucciarati 

- He understands the difficultly of loosing a loved one, especially with the life he and the others live. They’ve all lost someone important to them in some regard, and so he wants you to know first off that they will never judge you for your reaction and how long it takes for you to move on. 

- From then on, Bucciarati will naturally gravitate to your side, taking your hand in his and gently holding it as you walk, grabbing your favorite comfort items while out and giving them to you when he gets back, holding you and letting you talk about whatever it is you’d like to share about the situation.

- He’s not one to push for you to share information on it either. He understands your mother passing could be something you would need to talk about, or something you’d prefer not to share, so he stays patient and allows you to decide. Still, no matter what you choose, his arms are always open for you, and he’ll stroke your hair and whisper to you on how strong you are or what you all could do to honor your mother. 

Leone Abbacchio 

- The minute he hears the news, his first thought is to hold you, ground you and make sure you’ll be there in his arms. He’s gone through loss as well, his partner, and he knows just how bad he coped with his death. He doesn’t want you to go through the same hopelessness he once felt.

- Abbacchio isn’t one for words, so he settles on mostly physical affection with the occasional comfort gift to you. He doesn’t want to bombard you with nice things just to make you feel better, he knows that won’t help with the loss, so most often he just holds you. If you don’t want to speak of it, that’s alright, and if you do, then he’ll let you talk for as long as you need to. He may even ask a few questions as well.

- Lastly, he is going to stick by you a lot. It is an instinct of his, one that’s also gotten more prominent with the gang. He understands you may need privacy however, and wants you to let him know if he ever is being overbearing, or if you ever want to be comforted by someone else. He promises he won’t take it personally, he knows he can’t be able to help all the time, and will always give you a kiss on the forehead whenever you part. 

Narancia Ghirga 

- I feel like Narancia is the type of partner who feels that sharing the pain of situations helps. He trusts you, trusts you and has shown his vulnerability. He’s told you of his own mother’s passing, and how that affected him, so when he hears you tell him the same he will immediately feel just as you are in the moment. 

- He, like the others, also shows his support in physical affection, he’s always been that way. In the following months, you know you can always come home and collapse into his arms. He’s often got a tendency to be loud too, but he stays quite in case you want to talk or just want some peace and quiet. 

- While Narancia is still limited in what he can do, I do feel like with your permission, he’d do something nice to honor your mother. Perhaps he gets a favorite item of hers nicely displayed for you, or maybe he dedicates a seat to her at the restaurant they always would get together at. He regrets not being able to take her there much, if at all, but hopes maybe in a way she’ll be with you in spirit that way

Guido Mista

- Mista’s family was never around, the gang was all that he had until you came around, and then you and the rest of your family became his as well. When he hears from you how your mother’s passed away, he can’t help but let the tears fall. 

- I feel like he’d be good at comforting with his words. He’ll hold you if you want and he’ll let you know just how much he loves you and your strength in dealing with the situation. If it gets too serious though he may switch to funny stories involving your mother and him. He’s good at lightening the mood, and doesn’t want the only thing that comes to mind when you mention your mother to be sad thoughts. 

- He’ll definitely surprise you with something your mother actually gifted him. What it is really depends on what your mother was like, but I feel like he would have kept it all this time just to show you. He keeps it somewhere safe, but special, and if you ever need comfort he’ll grab it, sit with you and let you relax or speak. 

Pannacotta Fugo

- While family is a strange concept for Fugo, he knows just how upsetting it can be to experience lose. His immediate family may have been distant, but his grandmother was his everything. When she passed it felt like his world was falling, and he doesn’t want that for you, not one bit.

- He’s awkward in his words and is iffy on touch, but he knows you, and so he gets over his insecurities because he knows you may need him. He’ll place a hand on your back and let you lean on his shoulder, asking you how you’re feeling and if you’d like to talk. Its fine if you don’t want to either, he’ll just gently rock you both for a while. 

- I feel like he’s the type of person to habitually pick up the things you mentioned about your mother after her passing and keep them with him. Say for instance you mention a book she liked, Fugo will pick it up from the library, read it through, and give it to you, or if you mention a dish she liked, then Fugo may suggest you try and prepare it together. He figures maybe finding the things she loves will help to remember and honor her. 

Giorno Giovanna

- Giorno hasn’t exactly had the best family situation growing up, but when you introduced him to your own family, they took to him almost immediately. Your mother in particular adored him, and so he’s just as heartbroken as you to hear she’s passed away.

- Definitely there for you whenever you need him. It doesn’t matter if he’s got important business with Passione, he’s handing off whatever task it is to the others so he can be by your side. Of course he’ll respect if you want to take care of things on your own, but expect lots of texts from him asking if you’re alright and if you need him and the rest of the gang to get you anything/do anything for you. 

- I feel as though Giorno would actually be one to comfort you with gifts mostly. However, they’re not super extravagant things or anything superficial. He gets you gifts from the heart, gifts he gets because he remembers a comment you made passing a shop how a certain item reminded you of your mother, or gifts he remembers you said your mother loved. While he’s not the best with touch, his remembrance serves him well in this, and he does hope these gifts can in a way keep your mother with you. 

Trish Una

- She may not be the best with words, but she understands. Her own mother had raised her her entire life, and when she died and Trish was thrust into a dangerous and unfamiliar world it was terrifying. She knows your mother passing can’t be easy, and so she’s there with you every step of the way.

- I feel like Trish is also one to surround you both with things your mother loved after her passing. If she’s ever dropped the name of her favorite flower, then you’ll start to see vases of it pop up around the gang’s base. If she mentions her favorite meal, expect it waiting warm on a plate for you when you get back, and if she’s ever mentioned a favorite show or movie, it’ll be on for you both to watch with the lights dimmed. Trish hopes it’ll helps.

- Lastly, she definitely asks if you need any help going through belongings, especially since items can be hard to sort through and she hopes to find an heirloom from your mother to you. She likes being able to see your family’s history through stuff you have, and you two definitely have fun imagining what am item was used to do or make or when it was from. If your mother has any clothes then Trish will be very particular in saving them. She washes them delicately and hangs them up with protective covers, and whenever you want to see them she’ll be more than happy to take them out for you! She loves keeping items from your mother to cherish.

been abt suffering (negative emotions) and enlightment. and i’m,,,, somewhat confused when ppl are saying sukuna is evil. he’s not at least not in the western sense of the term. he’s chaotic. just pure, unaldurated chaos. he’s human nature completely stripped of its humanity and that’s why he’s so fascinating. seeing the fandom reducing him to the “mob boss who’s only capable of loving his s/o and would destroy the world if they wish so” is disheartening for me 😞 (3/ i forgot if i wrote 2)

and to an extension, he doesn’t have the capability of being compassionate that most ppl think. i’m not gonna namedrop but someone was basically like “DO NOT write dub/non con for sukuna” bc it just (idk what the exact word was i forgot but for me it sounds close to glorify) r*pe culture in fandoms which by no means i am doing it rn but the only time manga readers saw him as “compassionate” was that time with jogo being insecure of his power after that showdown with gojo and that was ONLY (4)

related to his strength not the “yea i saw the good in u </3 that the fandom constantly potrayed. and i can’t and won’t ever see him fit in the “being gentle for 1 person” trope. not that it’ll stop ppl from writing it that way 🥴 and no matter how u look at it, content creators put a lot of effort into what they’re making no matter how dark it is b i won’t ever shit on them for having a different take on jjk characters. everything you said is RIGHT!! You put it so well! Buddhist influences are heavily incorporated in jjk and some examples are blatant like gojo's "I alone am the honored one" quote and sukuna's four arms, however there are also underlying buddhist themes in the manga that I do think western fans wouldn’t be able to get unless they’re somewhat familiar with Buddhism.

as western fans i feel like we have to be cognizant of these cultural differences and address them with cultural awareness and nuance (which is inevitably lost if when you’re just horny about characters which hey! isn’t bad!) But there’s a level of respect we have to treat characters with which means we can’t push our western assumptions onto these characters either (that’s also a reason why lgtbq/gender discourse on JAPANESE characters in JAPAN made by western fans always irritate me like you cannot carelessly approach these things without nuance!!) but you’re completely right about Sukuna’s character!! I myself cannot write Sukuna as anything other than what he is, and that is someone who wouldn’t be nice to his s/o (? can i even call it that?) I just...don’t think he’s capable of love (in the way we think about it anyway). Fondness....maybe...if you don’t bore him but typical love? Unfortunately no. I literally don’t think any relationship with Sukuna would be healthy in the slightest, and like I said, unless the reader’s a super freak (which, hey good for them!) It probs would veer into the noncon territory lmao

Also LOL this is funny but I also saw that post you’re referencing. While I did agree with some of the points made, I didn’t agree with all of them. Dub/non con is not the same as pedo****** and in*** and I say that as someone who studies theoretical media + I’m also a lab assistant in a media lab where we regularly talk about sexualized r*pe (aka written by men) vs fantasy r*pe. (If you guys want me to make a post about it going into more depth then I will)

i think you’re completely valid for having those feelings. especially as dichotomy between good and evil is always framed in the western sense of things, because that’s how western fans make sense of these concepts. Meaning does inevitably get lost in the translation (I haven't read jjk in Japanese but maybe I'll attempt it over the break if it isn’t too hard but i have a feeling that some of the terminology is going to go straight over my head lol) 

In the end, people are writing for fun so they might not be too inclined to well, care about these differences, and like I said before people can interpret the characters how’d they like, so I don’t really think about it much. But for me, I’d like to be mindful of jjk’s themes when writing about it!

Sunshine boy is always excited to see you

So when he visited you, he came running into your room, and loudly yelled your name, without a warning or knocking or stuff

And you were curling your lashes, not expecting a whirlwind like your boyfriend suddenly running into your room and hugging you from behind

Your hand slipped, and you ripped some eyelashes out- screaming at the sudden pain, and tears immediately coming out of your eyes- and he stumbled back

“Shoyo!” you whine, your hands pressed against your face, while your eye still pounds in pain

“Y- Y/n-” Hinata stutters, his eyes wide from shock

“I- I-I'm so sorry- please y/n- how can I...?” he made a step towards you, and lightly touched your shoulder, to pull you into his arms

Would literally rip off his own lashes and offer them to you

“Y/n. I'm so sorry. Does it hurt?” his voice sounded teary

“Show me.”

You sniff, and let him look at your face

He sighs in relief- there was no blood or something

“Y/n, you still look amazing! You don't have to worry!”

You look at him through teary eyes, but he only gives you a reassuring smile

“Y/n, you will always be pretty! Don't worry about that!”

“Do I really look okay?” you sob, slowly calming down in his arms

“Yes! I promise that you still look amazing!”

It reminded him a bit of Aone, but he wouldn't dare to say something like that 

You always look beautiful in sunshine boy's eyes

And he would tell you until you felt better

“Love, what are you doing up there?” he yells, but no answer from you

He frowns, and quickly made his way upstairs

When he pushed the door open, you squeaked, and stumbled, causing you to rip off some of your lashes

You take a sharp breath, the curler falling down to the ground, when you sank down to your knees, burring your face into your hands

“Y/n!” a panicked expression was on his face when he saw how you went down to your knees, and he froze for a second before he came to you, falling down next to you, and wrapping his arms around you

“I didn't mean to scare you, I'm so sorry!”

His hand caressed your back, while you bury your face into his chest

“Satori, be honest. Are there many lashes on the ground?”

He quickly glanced down

“Y/n, all that matters is that you're okay.”

Avoiding questions like a pro

But no worries, it didn’t look that bad, he just wants to mess with you

“Satori!”

“Hey, just look at me. Let me see.”

“But Satori, what if I look ugly?”

Your hands were shaking, and you didn't dare to look up, but your boyfriend had other plans, and gently pushed your face up

You blink, your vision a bit bury, but you still see his big relieved grin

“Y/n, you still look gorgeous.”

“Really?”

“Yes!” he hums, and pressed a kiss to your head

But then he pulled back and looked serious

“It will seem more natural, if both sides are symmetrical. We should rip off your other lashes as well!”

“Satori!” you whine, but still smile at his nonsense suggestion

He only chuckled, and lifts up your chin

“There it is. When you smile like this, no one will pay attention to it. Don't worry, love, they'll grow back in no time. And now I'm gonna get you some ice cream, to make up for it!”
