I'm in so much awe by GenLoss that it's not funny.

This show was really good for a TON of reasons.

I give Ranboo everything. They created a show that was a real mind fuck. I was crying by that ending, and I could not believe that those were HIS SCREAMS. I physically feel tormented by this show.

Everything about this was perfect in different ways. It's leaving me to question what could have happened if we had chosen the other ending. But I wanted the suffering to end. I could not watch my screen as the vote was cast. I saw the blood run down their face and was distraught by that.

I want Ranboo to know that Gen Loss is something that I really want more of and if I have to wait another 10 years then I will.

Generation Loss is love. Generation Loss is life.

I’ve left the fandom at this point; my hyperfixation ended, my schedule changed and I had to force myself to move on, but the DSMP changed my life. I will never be the same person as I was before late 2020. I will be forever grateful for the lore, Ranboo’s late night mining streams, Tommy’s vlogs, Punz’s speedruns and Techno’s Saturday streams (they were always at 4:00 PM my time). The fan content was top tier, and I will never forget the love I received on the fanfics I wrote myself. I may have moved on, but the boobers and inniters will always hold a special place in my heart.

i know coming back right is kinda a silly idea but im thinking about it.

what if ranboo came back, and they came back right?

not physically, of course. god, he looks a decade older and has the exhaustion to match. their skin is marred, mostly scar tissue now, from the explosion, from sam, from the endless ocean of limbo, from crying. tubbo hates that they match now. he’s skinnier, too, as if death took everything but the skin and bones of him. they look more monstrous. theres a new streak of white in his hair. it reminds tubbo of wilbur. it reminds tommy of himself.

but he’s just as kind, he still holds their son with tenderness and sings songs of old to him. he still brushes tubbos hair away with a feather-light touch. they still help techno with the dogs. he still visits tommy. they still grow pink tulips.

their memory is... better. ranboo still loses his house keys and forgets where he was going or what they ate for lunch, but they have every scar on tommy memorized, he knows tubbo like the back of their hand, can recite historical events like a textbook, will never lose track of an important date again.

its all they had in limbo. he didnt want to forget for good.

he's still scared, if they're being honest. scared that their sacrifice was for nothing. scared that his family will be destroyed again and again for the sick pleasure of some fucking guy. scared that he'll be used again. scared that they'll hurt the people they care about again. but for now they're okay, they have a team and a family and a second chance.

ranboo comes back and theyre okay, honestly. they move into the mansion with his husband and child. he thanks techno again and again for saving his son. for saving him. techno doesnt accept the thanks, he should've done more. he talks with tommy about limbo, and about grief. they visit their own graves and they grieve. for one another, for themselves. it washes over them in waves. tubbo still waits for the other shoe to drop, for his husband or himself to turn into a maniac and blow the server to bits, but it doesnt come. it won't come. its not the same, it cant be, but its good for the first time in a long time.

maybe the other shoe doesn’t have to drop. maybe sometimes people can come back and maybe they can be okay.

Generation Loss brain dump

!! Spoilers for all 3 episodes bellow the cut !!

Okay so the first thing that my brain has latched onto is the slime, or more specifically, the reality filter.

The slime in generation loss is not actually slime. It’s blood. We see it during the glitch in episode 2:

and there’s also a bucket of blood, shown in the finale, labeled slime

The implications of this are fucking wild. Like the spirit of the cabin is genuinely a demon covered in blood, sticking to things- not because of slime, but because he’s covered in blood. It means that Charlie ate a bowl of blood and guts, it means that Sneeg was coated in blood, it means that there was a chest of blood in the bedroom. What about the slime dimension? And don’t even get me started on “I mean slime. I mean slime. I mean slime-” And that’s just episode one.

If you think about the fact that Charlie was likely pleading for his life after being torn open past just the surface, you realize that Sneeg probably saw Charlie bleeding out on a gurney. That means that the Puzzler was putting a bloody hat on people for fun. There also the fact that Frank is a real dead body, a genuine rotting corpse- but we’ll get back to him.

And then you can look even further and see what we would’ve seen as slime in episode three. If you put the reality filter back on, this sign is a whole lot more on brand.

Now, let’s look at the biggest piece of the puzzle: the bulletin board. Firstly, Frank is dead. He is a corpse and here’s our evidence. Secondly, there’s the image that discusses the reality filter. The text on it reads “Are you seeing what you should be seeing? Contact HR if you may need a quick rewiring.” Accompanied by green dots surrounding red and diagram of the brain. The dots are pretty self explanatory, using green to hide the red, but the diagram of the brain is more damning. The highlighted portion is called the occipital lobe. It is responsible for visual perception, including colour, form, and motion. Damage to your occipital lobe can cause difficulty locating objects in your environment, difficulty identifying colours, and hallucinations. That part of his skull is where the back of his mask presses.

The reality filter does so much more than just change blood to slime. It’s probably why Ranboo missed obvious parts of his environment occasionally. The part of their brain that controls visual perception has been under the control of Showfall, and only when it was shut off did we get to see how absolutely horrifying each episode has been.
