Now, a formal introduction to my Hufflepuff sweetheart.
I made this based off her seventh year, since I wanted to add more to her lore after her fifth year.
Evangeline Sabrina Desjardins was born on the most beautiful spring day on May 1st, 1875 by her wealthy parents Mr. and Mrs. Desjardins in Paris, France. Despite the joyous occasion, the complications of her birth almost caused both her and her mother to die. Thus, her parents always kept her at a distance, believing she was a cursed child.
Her Veela ancestry stems from her grandmother on her paternal side. Evangeline always hated this part of her, because she hated the attention she would garner at events she was dragged to. She began to wear a masquerade mask when she was six to hide her face to others, even to the maids. Once she learned how to properly cast a glamour at eight years old, it became a morning ritual she never forgot.
She began to attend Beauxbatons Academy of Magic when she was eleven and when her arrow exploded into a wondrous green color, she was housed in Bellefeuille. This came to no surprise, since she had a natural love for plants. If you ever needed to find her, she would either be found in the library, the gardens, or the closest conservatory or greenhouse. Her dream was to become a horticulturist and travel the world to research exotic plants and their properties for potion brewing. Perhaps, even become a professor to teach others about them.
After an accident at Beauxbatons which resulted in a near catastrophe, Evangeline was on house-arrest by her parents until they were greeted by a man named Eleazar Fig. He introduced himself as a professor who had heard of her accident and offered to let her attend Hogwarts under the direct mentorship of himself and the illustrious headmaster in Scotland. While her mother was a bit apprehensive, her father agreed, hoping the distance and seclusion would help her realize how lenient they were and she would change completely. Of course, it would end up being the exact opposite. Evangeline had a tumultuous fifth year. Naturally, she was housed in Hufflepuff and made a variety of friends in every house. She learned of her Ancient Magic and the price that comes with such a great power. After losing her precious mentor and almost losing her own life, she vowed to never use her ancient magic unless it was a matter of life and death.
While she wished to keep her involvement in ending the Goblin Rebellion a secret, the Minister arrived at her door over the summer and congratulated her parents on bringing up such a gifted child and offered her a job in the British Ministry upon her graduation as an Auror. Her parents were less than pleased. She decided to run away after they forbid her to attend her sixth year. After that, she never spoke to them during her final two years at Hogwarts and chose to stay at the castle over the summer to assist Professor Garlick with her plants.
During her time at Hogwarts, she became an entirely different person. She developed a love for flying and was naturally gifted (high praise considering it was Imelda who told her that) and she was roped into becoming an amazing chaser for the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team. Win some or lose some, nobody ever doubted her talent. While she never took Crossed Wands as seriously as her friends, she did enjoy watching them. She was the closest thing you could get to a personal cheerleader and always made you feel like a winner, even if you lost abysmally.
While Evangeline left Hogwarts under the direct orders of her parents to an arranged marriage against her will, she had never truly developed a crush on any boy due to the fear of her Veela ancestry. However, she knew she would miss one boy in particular - One who never stood out to others, but he certainly did to her.

BATBOYS WITH A STYLISH READER ── .✦
a/n: so I tried to base this off of me because I like genuinely LOVE fashion and creativity (my closet is seriously so full rn but I keep buying and buying but soon I’m gonna donate some pieces I never wore/ won’t wear again when i’m like moving in 5/6 months (in April) but anyways yeahh this is requested by the wonderful @luvly_writer (I GENUINELY DONT KNOW WHY MY MENITONS ARENT WORKING TODAY!?!?
tags: (batboys x stylish reader ᥫ᭡)
DICK GRAYSON ── .✦
Dick’s always had a decent sense of fashion, but after meeting you, he realized his wardrobe could use some spicing up.
“Okay, I need help,” he says, holding up his closet of endless leather jackets and dark jeans. “It’s starting to feel like I’m a character in a some main character show..” (this tiktok HELPP here)
You pull together a sleek but casual look for him, fitted trousers, a patterned button-up, and a blazer. When he sees himself in the mirror, he whistles.
“Are you sure I’m not about to walk the runway?”
He loves when you add your flair to his outfits, often saying, “This is why I’m with you.”
Eventually, Dick starts mimicking your style in small ways—accessories, boots, and bolder colors. He’ll even joke, “You’re rubbing off on me in more ways than one.”
JASON TODD ── .✦
Jason scoffs at the idea at first. “I don’t need to be styled. My leather jacket and boots are timeless, I don’t need like bags and purses like you.”
But then he starts noticing the way you turn heads wherever you go and how people always stop you to ask where you got your hat or etc from, and he gets curious.
One day, he half-jokingly says, “Alright, fashionista. Make me look less like I just rolled out of a biker gang.”
You have so much fun dressing him in a sharp, dark button-up, fitted jeans, and Chelsea boots. When you suggest a leather trench coat instead of his usual jacket, he raises an eyebrow but ends up loving it.
“I look like a villain trying blow up something in broad daylight,” he says, smirking. “But, like, a hot one.”
Jason doesn’t fully change his wardrobe, but he starts incorporating your suggestions—better fits, fewer holes in his shirts, and maybe a sweater or two. He always claims it’s to “shut you up,” but deep down, he loves how confident it makes him feel when his s/o chooses stuff for him.
TIM DRAKE ── .✦
Tim’s wardrobe is functional. It’s not bad because there’s a DIFFERENCE, Timothy drake wayne dresses in suits and is high end and chic but regular tim well… tim Is tim but he DOES care about what he wears just not like that serious about it, but it’s very much “guy who spends more time in front of a computer than a mirror.”
One day, he asks, “Do you think I should update my wardrobe? You know, to look… presentable?”
You practically light up, dragging him out for a shopping spree.
He’s a little overwhelmed by how excited you are, but he secretly loves the attention.
You pick out layered outfits—hoodies with tailored jackets, clean sneakers, and pants that actually fit. When he tries them on, he’s surprised at how good he looks.
“So this is what it feels like to be stylish,” he muses.
Over time, Tim starts borrowing pieces of your style. He’ll wear scarves, experiment with glasses frames, and even tuck his shirts in occasionally. You catch him researching minimalist fashion on Pinterest once, and he sheepishly admits, “You’re a bad influence.”
DAMIAN WAYNE ── .✦
Damian has a sharp sense of style already (thanks, Talia and Bruce), but he finds himself intrigued by your unique flair.
“You have a good eye for aesthetics,” he says one day, almost shyly. “Perhaps you could lend me some… insight.”
Styling Damian is like working with a blank canvas—he’s open to trying new things as long as it doesn’t compromise his dignified image.
You help him experiment with layered textures, sleek boots, and subtle patterns. He refuses anything too colorful but surprises you by agreeing to a deep emerald green blazer.
“I look… distinguished,” he admits, staring at his reflection.
He starts taking inspiration from your wardrobe, incorporating more modern and creative touches into his outfits. Every now and then, he’ll ask, “What do you think of this?” before leaving for an event.
Damian also becomes oddly protective of your style. If someone tries to copy you, he’ll say something like, “Flattery may be the sincerest form of imitation, but it’s wasted when done poorly.”
BRUCE WAYNE ── .✦
Bruce is already a style icon, but when he starts noticing the effortless way you put together outfits, he gets curious.
“What would you do with this suit?” he asks, gesturing to one of his many black ensembles.
You tease him for being so predictable but suggest a few changes—adding a pocket square, switching up his tie, and choosing a dark navy instead of black.
When he steps out in the new look, even Alfred raises an approving eyebrow.
“Now I’ll have to think about my outfits.”
He begins to take subtle cues from your style, occasionally asking for your opinion before galas. You catch him sneaking glances at your Pinterest boards once, and he pretends it’s for “business purposes” (you had to private your pin board after because he keeps buying 10 of each of what you put on your Pinterest board.)

The Bonds That Break Us (Rhysand x Female! Reader) Part 3
Part 1 , Part 2 , Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Final Part
Request: "Would you do a Rhysand x fem!reader series? Maybe fem!reader is Rhysand's mate and Tamlin's sister? So secret love?"
AN: thank you so much for all the feedback! I am loving hearing your guys thoughts and I'm having so much fun with this
Summary: It was almost as if the cauldron liked to play games, as if it had sensed years of boredom and predictability and begged to be entertained. Its method of absolving its melancholy? Mate the High Lord of the Night Court to the younger sister of the High Lord of Spring.
Warnings (so far): SMUT (consensual), oral (female receiving), mentions of SA.
Word count: 2730
(all photos are from pinterest)
The following day was another quiet day, and though Rhysand had stayed up with me all night like he promised, I didn’t hear from him in the morning. I avoided my brother at all costs and Lucien as well and spent the morning and afternoon getting ready for the ball at the Autumn Court that would be taking place tonight. I was sure to pick my dress carefully, opting for purple again.
I used to not care for balls, most of the time I would show up and not have anyone to see save for Viviane and Kallias who always had each other to dance with. This of course left me to dance with Lucien or not dance at all. I always left bored and feeling more lonely than I had been before I got there.
I knew tonight would be different not just because of Rhys, but because of Eris. My brother has made it very clear at breakfast that I was to dance and charm Eris all night. The thought made my stomach churn and my eyes water, but I knew better than to disobey.
From the second I walked into the ballroom I could feel Rhysand. The mass of people swirling and dancing around under the gargantuan chandelier made it near impossible for me to find him. I nearly reached out with the bond before my brother grabbed my arm harshly.
“Remember sister, you are to charm Eris whatever means necessary,” he growled in my ear so only I could hear.
“I will, now I’m going to find Viviane.” I glared and sauntered off to do just that.
The ballroom was impossibly packed but finding Viviane’s ice white hair among the crowd was easier than I thought it would be.
“Well you two look amazing,” I beam walking over to where her and Kallias are being wall flowers. Her dress looks like it was made entirely out of frost, and cascades down her body like it was made for her, knowing how Kallias likes to dote on her it probably was.
“Me? Look at you! Purple is your color,” she smiles.
“So, are there any eligible bachelors for me to romance tonight?” I laugh taking her arm and walking around the perimeter of the ballroom with her and Kallias.
“No one worthy of note, but you know how picky I am when selecting a suitable man for you,” she giggles.
“That’s true, you’re a worse critic than I am,” I smile. We promenade around the dancefloor until we run into one of Viviane’s friends and she stops to talk. I take it as my opportunity to glance around the room looking for a particular High Lord and finally I find him.
He’s at the edge of the room wearing black as usual, conversing easily with two Illyrians. Their wings take up most of the space around them. The one with longer hair is obviously drunk as he lets out a laugh that reverberates throughout the room, the one with the shorter hair, swathed in shadows, simply shakes his head and smiles. Rhysand has yet to see me and to draw his attention I give the bond a tug, the first time I’ve ever done it.
His head snaps up in my direction and I see the corner of his mouth curl.
By the cauldron, you are the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, my mate.
“Why thank you my lord, I seemed to remember you had a certain affinity for the color violet,” I muse back to him and I swear from this distance I can see his eyes light up.
The Illyrians next to him turn their heads to look at me, the one with the long hair gives me a knowing smirk and I quickly turn my head back to the conversation Viviane is having.
I hear Rhys chuckle in my head, They don’t bite darling. Well Cassian might, but only if you ask him to. He muses over the bond.
“An interesting proposal, I’ll keep it in mind,” I say back trying to hide my smile.
You little minx.
Before I can say anything back I feel a hand on my back, I turn to find Eris there, a hopeful look in his eye. He takes my hand and kisses it in greeting.
“Y/n, what a pleasure it is to have you in our court.” he smiles.
“Of course, my brother and I were very honored to receive an invitation,” I say, trying to sound as chipper as possible.
“You were the first invite we sent, by now I’m sure your brother has told you of my feelings towards you,” he smirks.
“He has brought them to my attention, and I must say I’m flattered,” I smile.
“Might I have this dance?” he asks, my eyes flit to Rhysand for half a second, but it’s long enough that I can see the rage simmering in those violet eyes.
“Of course,” I say, taking Eris’ hand and allowing him to lead me to the dancefloor. His hand spreads over my waist almost obsessively as we waltz around the room.
“You really are quite the sight to behold y/n, I can see why your brother keeps you locked up in the Spring Court,” Eris praises me.
“I regret that he does so, if I had been allowed out more I would’ve found out much sooner how amazing of a dancer you are,” I smile flirtatiously.
“Among one of my many talents my dear, though you’ll find out soon enough about those,” he whispers in my ear.
We dance on and on swirling about the room to the music. From the corner of my eye I can see Tamilin and Beron watching the two of us and for the first time in a long time Tamlin almost looks happy. However it’s not long until I see his eyes catch on to a beautiful brunette that seems to grab all his attention. My skin starts to buzz again and it isn’t long until a large hand claps Eris on the shoulder.
“Mind if I cut in?” Rhysand asks Eris smoothly. His words say one thing but his eyes look at Eris like he would cut off his hands or other important body parts if he were to say no.
“Of course,” Eris says, passing me off to Rhysand and taking his leave.
“You’re going to get me in trouble,” I snap at him.
“I’m sorry, but I couldn’t stand to watch another minute of that,” he says cooly.
“Someones jealous,” I muse.
“Very,” Rhysand confesses with a small smile.
As we sweep across the dancefloor, the feeling of his hand on my waist is all too familiar and I can’t help but remember the last time it was there. I look to the side to find the two Illyrains standing at the edge of the ballroom watching us.
“Who did you bring with you tonight?” I ask Rhys.
“My most trusted friends and members of my court, Cassian and Azriel. Azriel is my spymaster and Cassian is the general of my armies.” he explains. “I grew up with them, they are like brothers to me.”
“Do they know?” I inquire further.
“That we’re mates? Yes. I think Cassain would start a war for you already,” he chuckles.
“Interesting, I would’ve thought they’d be upset,” I say, turning my head back towards Rhys.
“You are not my court’s enemy, your brother is. You aren’t damned by association, and besides they are my brothers, they want me to be happy.” Rhys explains further.
“It sounds like you have quite the amazing family,” I acknowledge and he picks up on the longing in my phrase right away. “I doubt I’ll be treated the same here in the Autumn Court.”
“Why would it matter how the Autumn Court treats you?” he questions.
“Because I’m marrying Eris,” I sigh, keeping my head down, unable to meet the sadness I know resides in his eyes now.
“What?” he growls and for the first time since I’ve known him I’m afraid of him.
“My brother has decided to marry me off to Eris for political gain,” I explain further.
Rhys takes my hand and drags me off the dancefloor, at this point people are so drunk they don’t even notice. He leads me to a room off the ballroom and closes the door. I take a moment to look around at the dimly lit study, filled with old books and mahogany furniture. I lean against the desk and look at Rhys.
“You’re not going to marry Eris,” he fumes.
“You say that like I have the option to say no,” I retort as he closes in further.
“If you marry Eris he will destroy you from the inside out, you will become nothing but a breeding vessel to give him sons.” he tells me.
“I’m going to be the same thing to any Lord my brother marries me to,” I sneer at him.
“That’s not true,” Rhysand shakes his head.
“Oh really?” I scoff.
“It wouldn’t be that way with me. You would be my wife, and my High Lady as well as my mate. You wouldn’t have to be sexually assaulted in your own home, or barricade yourself in your room to be safe! You would have rights and freedom and you would have Cassian and Azriel and a family that loves you!” he yells passionately, getting closer to me. “And you would have me, and I would love you too.” he confesses quieter.
A tear slips from my eye as I take in all that he’s said. He looks at me from just an arms length away, waiting for me to say something back.
“Rhysand I can’t-” I start to say.
“Don’t you dare say that you can’t,” he says, stepping forward and caging me into the desk, his mouth dangerously close to my own. “If you were mine there’s not a person in this world that would dare to touch you. You know that.”
I feel a hand go to my waist and he uses the other to wipe the tears from my eye. A different kind of tension fills the room as his breath fans my face leaving kisses where my tears once were.
“Rhys please,” I rasp out lightly pushing him away. His hands on my waist tighten.
“Look me in the eye and tell me you don’t want me to kiss you right now y/n,” he says tilting my chin up to meet his gaze. He’s right, I do want him to kiss me but I can’t even form the words to ask him that. “I thought so,” he says and then his lips are on mine.
I taste all of him and need all of him. He pulls me so close to him I think I might melt into his skin. I throw my hands around his neck like he might be ripped away from me at any given moment. I feel his hands leave my waist and fly to the desk behind me. The next thing I hear is the clattering of glass, books and paper. He lifts me up and places me on the desk positioning his frame between my legs.
“Rhys,” I moan as his lips find my neck.
“I love it when you say my name,” he groans into the kiss, using his body to press my back into the desk and anywhere that isn’t concealed by my dress gets goosebumps from the cold surface. “I need to taste you,” his hands travel down my body and he sinks to his kneels before me, never breaking eye contact.
“What are you doing?” I ask earnestly.
“Have you ever had a man touch you here?” he questions back, his hand ghosting over my clothed core, my breath hitches.
“N-no,” I squeak. He lifts up the many layers of my skirt and bunches them around my waist.
“And have you ever touched yourself here?” he further inquiries rubbing a hand over my undergarments.
I’m too embarrassed to speak, I just give him a shallow nod.
“Probably while you’re reading all those dirty books right y/n darling?” he smirks loving how the pink tints my cheeks. “And do you want me to touch you here?”
I give him another shallow nod.
“I’m gonna need to hear words darling,” he persists.
It’s almost embarrassing how quickly I spit out, “Yes.”
“Yes what?” he taunts me.
“Yes I want you to touch me there,” I whine.
He lets loose a feral grin before I feel him gently pull down my undergarments, taking his time to let his fingertips brush down the expanse of both my legs while he does it. He pulls then off over my heels and discards them. I watch him intently as he lowers his mouth to me and licks a long stripe clean up my pussy flicking my clit at the very top. My back arches off the desk and I let out a moan.
“Shhh darling, we can’t have other people knowing what sinful things you’re allowing me to do to you right now. Especially poor Eris, he’ll never get to hear you moan like this for as long as he lives,” Rhys smirks before disappearing under my dress again to feast on me.
My back arches again and my hand flies over my mouth to cover my own moan. I feel Rhysand bring one of his hands up to grasp my free one. A touch so simple, yet so intimate. His tongue swirls hungrily over my clit and it takes everything in me not to scream. I squeeze his hand tighter and he chuckles, sending a vibration through my pussy.
You taste amazing, like you were made for me. He says into my mind.
I squeeze his hand harder at his word. I had spent most of my life reading books about this, sex and romance. I assumed all the women writing them were exaggerating how good it could be. In the spring court it was always seen as a pleasure for the male, not the female. But the way Rhys is using his tongue on me right now, has me seeing stars which I know is no coincidence. His mouth closes around my clit suckling it.
“Rhys,” I breathe out.
Fuck darling. I lied, I like it when you say my name, I love it when you moan it.
“Rhys I’m gonna,” I cry trying to keep quiet.
Cum mate. I want you to cum all over my face. He growls into my mind.
It was almost as if he compelled me to. My back arches off the desk for the final time and I use my hand to stifle any sound that comes out of my mouth. He works me through my orgasm and when my body stops shaking he places one final kiss over my clit. His head pops up from under my skirts, his eyes shown with satisfaction as he licks the remnants of my arousal off his lips.
I was on him before he could even speak, pulling him by his neck and kissing him hard. I fumble for the strings on his pants and he grabs my wrist to stop me.
“No, not tonight,” he states. I immediately feel disappointment, the sedition I felt earlier had long left me the second that man licked his lips.
“Rhys please,” I whine.
“As much as it makes my cock twitch to hear you beg for me, I won’t let the first time I fuck you be on Beron Vanserra’s desk.” he chuckles, and leans in close to my ear. “Because when I’m inside you for the first time my mate I want to hear every strangled cry and moan I pull from your body. And when I cum inside you for the first time I want to hear you scream my name so loud all of Prythian knows just who’s mate you are. Is that clear?”
Butterflies hit my stomach and all I can do is nod slowly every coherent thought in my brain long gone. All I can think of is how badly I want him to make good on his promise.
“Good girl, now let's get your panties back on before a certain High Lord of Spring starts to miss you,” he smiles.

Paying for the Sins of Our Fathers
Pairing: David 'Deacon' Kay x fem!SWAT!reader
Summary: A new serial killer arrives in Los Angeles with a penchant for girls with bad relationships with their fathers. After you offer yourself up as bait to catch him, Deacon shows you that you're not as hard to love as you think.
Warnings: angst to fluff, serial killer, secondary character deaths, age gap, depiction of terrible father-daughter relationships (going to say allusion to DV just to be safe but if there is it's nuanced not explicitly stated)
Word Count: 3.6k+ words
A/N: Alexa, play Glasshouse Children.
*This is not a rewrite of Sins of the Father, just a titling coinkydink.
Picture from Pinterest (I love this scene so much)
“Caramel pumpkin chai for Lia!”
Lia sighs as she stands and walks to the counter. The coffee shop, one of Santa Monica’s hidden gems that most people walk right by, is nearly empty at this hour. A writer wearing headphones slaves over a laptop in one corner, three young girls read together, pausing every few minutes to discuss the previous chapter, and a man draws in a weathered leather journal. This is how Lia likes the café, but she’s not sure it’s what she needs tonight.
Sitting with her drink, she ignores the envelope in her bag. Her father sent a message from prison, where he’s been since she was a freshman in high school nearly a decade ago, but she’s yet to open it. She’s not sure she can, not sure she wants to, even. Tapping the screen of her phone, she smiles when she sees a reply from her best friend.
Come over, and we’ll talk. Catch this love <3
“Excuse me,” the man with the journal says, standing sheepishly by Lia’s table. “I just wanted to say hello, and, uh, I hope you don’t mind, but I included you in my sketch of the coffee shop.”
“Oh,” Lia replies, smiling at the interruption. “Yeah, that’s fine.”
“Good, good. I won’t keep you, but it’s a hard anniversary for me, but drawing helps and it was nice to have a friendly face in the scene.”
“I understand completely. I hope the rest of your night is good.”
“Thank you,” he replies, nodding once. “You, too.”
“Wait,” Lia calls as he turns. “Could I maybe see the picture?”
“Oh, no, ma’am,” he answers with a chuckle. “I’m not very good. My father told me I should find another hobby, but, well… he’s why I’m here tonight drawing instead of remembering the past.”
Lia shakes her head and offers, “Dads are tough, believe me, I know. If you enjoy drawing, though, keep doing it. Good for you.”
“I’m sorry to hear that.” The man pauses and waves generally as he adds, “About your dad, I mean.”
“It is what it is,” Lia says, shrugging. “Are you sure I can’t see the picture?”
“Yes, I am.”
“That’s a shame. I’m sure it’s beautiful.”
“The last scene I drew was a visiting area in a state prison, so it’s a light in this sketchbook.”
“I haven’t been in a prison in years, but I’m sure a setting that grim can’t be easy to draw.”
“I like the challenge, but the distraction was the real reward. After I visit the prison, I go up Getty Center Drive just to get away from it all, you know?”
“It’s gorgeous up there,” Lia sighs.
“You should go sometime, to clear your mind. Even alone with your thoughts, everything just seems more peaceful.”
“I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks.”
The man nods and steps toward the door. Lia pushes the envelope from her father deeper into her bag before she stands and picks up her drink. She’s ready to talk, and her friend is waiting, like always. As she walks toward her car, Lia smiles.
“Good night,” the man calls from beside his car. “You should really go to Getty after you return your dad’s letter in person.”
Lia’s smile drops as she presses the button to unlock her car. “How did you know that?”
“On second thought,” the man muses lightly, walking toward Lia’s car. “Why don’t we go together? Right now?”
Lia tries to scream, but his hand presses against her mouth, a damp rag silencing her cries.
You yawn as Street continues his story about the motorcycle race he allegedly won last night. Before he can tell you the epic conclusion, a group of at least thirty cops walks into SWAT HQ and heads directly to the situation room. Street silences, and you watch the officers and detectives walk through the building.
“20 Squad, situation room!” Hicks yells. “Now!”
You follow Street inside and find a place at the back to stand. Deacon, Hondo, and Luca enter from the other side and look at you questioningly as they join you. You shrug, and Street stands by Luca as they theorize what the large meeting could mean.
“I’m Detective Ryan Carradine of the Mid-Wilshire division,” Carradine introduces, gesturing for everyone to quiet. “We have patrol officers, Metro SWAT, UCs, and the homicide division from several different stations here today because we have a county-wide case.”
A map with nine red dots appears on the screen behind him. Each dot has a date and time beside it, each one five days apart.
“By which I mean there is a new serial killer in Los Angeles. In the last 45 days, we have located nine bodies, each a female in her early-20s to late-30s. Early this morning, we found Lia Carter, a 24-year-old woman from Rustic Canyon. Carter was attacked sometime between midnight and 2 a.m., and she was left for dead in brush off Getty Center Drive. She’s in critical condition, but if she pulls through, she will be the only survivor.”
“What’s the connection between victims?” a homicide detective inquires.
Carradine tsks, then answers, “Our teams are working on that now. What we’ve got tentatively is the age range, females, and…” He sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose as he adds, “They all seem to have strained or nonexistent relationships with their fathers.”
You look at Street, who purses his lips and shrugs.
“Carter was found with an unopened letter from her father stapled to her shirt, he’s serving life in Lancaster State Prison for killing her high school boyfriend,” Carradine explains.
“What does this have to do with us?” Street whispers.
“So, because of the extent of this case, we need everyone in this room on their A-game. If that’s not you, I want you out and I will find someone to take your spot.”
No one moves, so Carradine nods and steps to the side as Commander Hicks joins him.
“I’m Commander Bob Hicks,” he begins, “I’ll be assisting Detective Carradine in an operational capacity. I’m also placing my 20-David SWAT team on standby for anything related to this case. The moment we get a warrant, they’ll be ready to roll.”
“That being said,” Carradine interjects, “Mid-Wilshire’s Metro is prepared to pick up slack for other tactical calls. If you need immediate tactical support for this case, alert Hicks, otherwise, dispatch will get you a team from another station.”
“What other information do you have?” an officer asks. “Suspects, forensics?”
“Short answer: nothing.”
The undercover chief suggests, “We can get UC officers out, advertise poor paternal relationships, try to bring this guy into the light.”
“It won’t work,” an officer states as he enters the situation room. “Lia Carter regained consciousness. She said he knew; that the man had details about her relationship with her father, things she’d never told anyone other than police and therapists.”
“Then UC is out,” Carradine murmurs, rubbing his forehead. “Any other ideas?”
You inhale before you say, “Send me in.”
The officers standing between you and Carradine look back and step to the side so he can see you clearly. Hicks looks from you to Hondo, then back to you, and shakes his head gently.
“If he can get his hands on that kind of information, then he could find out that I fit. I’m the right age, no relationship with dad,” you explain. “It’s as good as a UC as you’re going to get in this.”
Standing beside you, Deacon tenses his jaw. He doesn’t want you to do this; he wants you to be as far from this serial killer as you possibly can, but it’s not his place to ask you to stay. No matter how much he wishes it was.
“Absolutely not,” Hondo says instead.
“There’s way too much at stake,” Luca adds.
“He could know even more,” Street exclaims. “We don’t know his MO, what he does before or after the killings.”
You look to Deacon rather than answering your other teammates, and he licks his lips before he says, “It’s your decision. We’ll be here for you, whether you stay or go.”
Nodding, you keep your eyes on Deacon as you say, “Then let’s catch a serial killer.”
“Oh, he’s got a name now,” a cyber-tech says from one of the desks. “Papers are calling him The Fatherless.”
“Classy,” you murmur.
“Get prepped,” Hicks tells you. “20 Squad, you’re on standby, so stay close.”
“The rest of you stay here to receive your posts,” Carradine announces. “We’ve got five days until he strikes again. So, let’s do this in four.”
In the locker room, you sit in your civvies and prepare for the worst. The door opens as Street walks inside, his steps purposeful and hurried.
“You don’t have to do this,” he says, stopping beside you. “No one will blame you for changing your mind.”
“Street,” you begin.
He squats before you and shakes his head. “No, listen, I understand. Probably better than anyone else here. I know that you still feel that pain, even if it’s the last thing on your mind. Those wounds, the ones that your parents carve into you as a child, they never fully heal, and they reopen easily.”
You nod along with Street. He’s right, you know that. Yet, you know what you have to do.
“We’re glasshouse children, Street, you know that. But I’m done paying for the sins of my father. And I’m not going to let another innocent woman be murdered because of hers.”
Street sighs and leans back against the lockers. “We’re here for you. You better be careful, or I’ll tell Deacon that you have a crush on him.”
You roll your eyes and cross your arms to match Street’s stance. “I’m always careful. Don’t confuse your recklessness for my perfection.”
Hondo knocks on the open door, serious and sympathetic, as he says, “Hospital just called. Lia Carter didn’t make it.”
Over the next two days, every moment outside HQ is spent setting up your role as the perfect target. On a walk, you slow by a park and watch a father and daughter play together, letting yourself long for something you don’t remember having. In crowded areas, you identify men who remind you of your dad or are alone and steer around them, giving yourself a wide berth. You avoid talking about your family, even inviting a friend to dinner just so someone asks how everyone is. No matter where you go, you keep your guard up with your gun within reach. You’re living like someone is watching your every move because you want them to be.
The most important thing you do requires help. With a picture stowed in your backpack, courtesy of the forensic team, you return home at the end of the second day. Carefully, you hide the picture in a book, then make dinner and try to forget it. When you settle in with the book for the night, you “accidentally” find the picture. The ink shows you and your father, cheek-to-cheek and smiling, and you stare at it until it blurs. Then, you shove it back in the book and throw it against the wall. Dropping your head into your hands, you feel like you’re being watched, and if the picture hadn’t affected you more than you anticipated, you might be scared by that.
Sitting alone in a rundown diner, you tap a sugar packet against your cup. It’s been five days since Lia Carter was attacked, and if you aren’t approached by The Fatherless tonight, he’ll kill another woman. You shift as if you can feel the picture of your dad in your pocket. It’s halfway out, so anyone who approaches your table can see it, yet another piece of bait to get yourself on a serial killer’s radar. You wish he could see it so no one else has to see him.
“Evening,” a man greets as he slides onto a barstool directly to your right.
You look over your shoulder, and when the man’s eyes drop to the picture, you fight down a smile. A killer sits beside you, his complete attention on you, and you’re exactly where you wanted to be.
“Good evening,” you reply lightly.
“Young love, huh?” he asks, gesturing with his chin to the young pregnant couple sharing a milkshake at the other side of the diner. “I bet they’ll be fun parents.”
You laugh humorlessly and look down at your sugar packet as you murmur, “I wouldn’t know what that looks like.”
He frowns sympathetically and offers, “Let me get you another drink?”
Though you want to agree and speed through this part, you remain hesitant, a faux vigilance. The Fatherless leaves plenty of room between you, making it feel like you’re in charge.
“I’ll have what she’s having,” he says to the waitress. When you look at him again, he smiles and shrugs. “It looks good.”
“It is good,” you reply, letting your eyes drift back to the happy couple.
“I used to imagine that my parents looked like that,” he muses. “But then I remember my dad was a deadbeat who left before I started preschool.”
“Now that I can understand.” You nod as you look at your empty cup.
“Ready for that drink?” he guesses.
You smile sheepishly, and he turns to order another drink before he slides off the barstool and sits on the other side of your booth.
“Your dad leave too?” he inquires, treating it like another mundane subject.
He asks open-ended questions but feeds you information he shouldn’t even know. You know what he’s doing, and you will play his game for as long as it takes.
“Yeah. I mean, in hindsight, I guess I should’ve seen it coming,” you answer.
“You were older?”
As you continue answering his questions, talking more and touching your drink less, you notice his eyes keep flitting to your cup. There was no evidence of him drugging the previous victims, so he must be pulling out all of the stops for you, his first target who defends herself and others for a living.
“So, you go hang out by yourself when you’re feeling like this?” The Fatherless asks.
“Depends on the day,” you say. “And the feeling.”
“I used to go sit on one of the bridges over the Los Angeles River and just stare into it.”
“That helped?”
“Almost every time. Something about the concrete lining on what should have been natural just… put everything into perspective, I suppose.”
“Typically, I try to escape thoughts of my dad,” you point out with a smile.
“And staring into murky water doesn’t help with that?” he challenges.
“That’s fair. I think I’d like to see it, give it a try.”
“We aren’t far from a viaduct.”
“I didn’t drive,” you complain. “The one time I decide to walk to clear my head.”
“I’ve got a car. If you’re comfortable with that.”
You pretend to deliberate his offer, then smile and stand. He leaves some cash on the table – cheap tipper, you think – and then leads you to a nondescript black Mustang. As he walks to the driver’s side, you slow and memorize the license plate.
“You know, one thing I never considered before is how lucky I am that I don’t have to worry about who will walk me down the aisle,” he says as he opens the door. “I guess your daddy issues are why you go for Sergeant Salt ‘n’ Pepper, though, huh?”
You don’t expect the comment, and it makes you stop. How The Fatherless managed to find the one thing you haven’t thought about for years, your wedding day, and how strange it might be without a father figure confuses you. More, the fact that he brought Deacon into this causes you to freeze.
“C’mon,” he urges, likely sensing your sudden discomfort.
“Sorry,” you say, shaking your head. “Got lost there for a second, didn’t I?”
As you get into the car, you know you’re doing the right thing but are admittedly scared now. If he knows that much about your life presently, who knows how much information he has on your childhood or family. He talks during the short drive to the viaduct, and you force yourself to keep the conversation going.
It’s weird. Your dad is who he is; you’ve moved on from the pain and heartbreak he put you through, and that’s what this guy is supposed to care about. But, because of The Fatherless, you’re thinking about something else. Is it possible that everything that exists or could exist between you and Deacon is just because of that?
Standing on a viaduct over the Los Angeles River, The Fatherless stands too close to you. He reaches for a weapon, but you’re too slow, not even raising your hand before there’s a gun in your face. Defenseless, you stand still as an engine rumbles before footsteps pound against the pavement.
“LAPD SWAT, drop the weapon!” Hondo yells.
“You’re surrounded, man,” Luca adds. “It’s over.”
“Put the gun down and step back!” Hondo repeats.
You stare into his eyes, looking past the gun. The moment he begins to lower his arm, Luca and Street rush forward and detain him before passing him off to another officer. With the police lights reflecting off the water below you, you look to your team as you fight to keep your emotions inside.
“That was the stupidest, most reckless act of incompetence I have ever seen!” Hondo yells, taking a heated step toward you.
Street raises his arm quickly, slapping his hand against Hondo’s chest. When Hondo stops, Street shakes his head but keeps his eyes on you. He can tell there’s something else wrong, more than you not defending yourself. You’re surprised, however, when someone else seems to notice it.
Deacon walks toward you, where you stand at the edge of the concrete platform. Stopping several steps back, Deacon doesn’t touch you but waits for you to do something. Down the bridge from you, the surveillance team that was watching and listening from the moment you stepped into the diner tells Hicks, Hondo, Luca, and Street what The Fatherless said to you.
When they hear that he brought someone you care about now into the conversation, they look back to you and Deacon. Hondo sighs while Luca runs his fingers through his hair, and Street murmurs, “No,” under his breath.
“I told Street I didn’t want the daughters of Los Angeles to pay for the sins of our fathers,” you begin. “But we can’t escape it. No matter what I do, no matter how hard I try to forgive him and move on, I’m still broken inside because of what he did.”
“You’re not broken,” Deacon insists.
“Then why do I look for love everywhere but only find it where I can’t have it?!” you ask, your voice rising as you step back.
Deacon raises his hands as you near the edge of the overpass. Your team moves forward, too, but everything else slows down.
“He was right, Deacon,” you murmur.
“No, he wasn’t.”
“Yes, he was! I love things that I can’t have because one of the few times I loved something with my entire heart, my dad shattered it.”
“Look where you are now,” Deacon demands, his arms still out toward you. “Despite that pain, in spite of everything he did to you, you are here. You have a career you love, a team that loves you like family, a-“
“Please stop saying love,” you interrupt.
“We love you,” Deacon finishes. “And we don’t care about what your dad did or didn’t do because we love you, scars and all."
You wipe a stray tear from your jaw, and Deacon takes another step toward you.
“I love you,” he whispers. “Differently than I’ve ever loved anything before.”
Your breath catches, but Deacon would never lie to you. You sniff and ask, “So, you don’t think I’m attracted to you just because of my daddy issues?”
Deacon smiles at your question, shakes his head, and offers his hand. You place your hand in his, grateful for the warmth of his glove, and then he pulls you against his chest and hugs you tightly. Safe in his arms, you let yourself cry, barely registering his movements as he carefully directs you away from the viaduct.
A moment later, more arms wrap around you as your team joins in your group hug. You laugh through the tears, loving each one for different reasons. And, just as you love them, they love you. This is your family, and this kind of love transcends generational curses and past traumas. You’re all different people, shaped by your pains and experiences, but you fit together. The people in this hug are your family: perfect pieces held together by love.
As Deacon follows you into your home, you know he will offer to stay, but you have something you’ve needed to say for a long time.
“I love you, too,” you admit. “I’m in love with you, and I have been for years.”
Deacon smiles as he offers his hand again; you take it, willing to go anywhere with him. He kisses your forehead and then leads you to the kitchen. The possibilities are endless now that your feelings are out in the open. You can do anything, be anything with Deacon.
For tonight, though, you want to sit with him and remember that you’re loved, and you can love as hard as you want because the sins of your father are not your responsibility nor a weight you must bear. Who you are now is who Deacon loves, and that’s exactly what you want to be.

The Real Housewives of Pride
Pt 4 | Pt 6
Ladies and gentlemen, gather 'round your radios and lend me your ears, for we’re about to embark on a wild ride through the smoky alleys of Hell, where time flies faster than a jazz tune on a Saturday night!
Oh, the delightful debauchery of our dear companions has reached a fever pitch, and as my charming friend Rosie would say, they're letting their freak flags soar high! Confessions of shadowy pasts and tantalizing secrets are swirling about.
Take Mrs. Charlotte, for instance—swayed and enchanted by her own romantic whimsy! And then there’s Camilla, chiming in with her own musings about dear Zestial, while Y/N, our fearless protagonist, reminds everyone of Lucifer’s rather unique talents.
And let’s not forget the Vee’s stirring the pot, revealing why Vox reigns supreme in the tech realm—he’s got a few skeletons in his closet and a penchant for mischief, while Valentino seems to be spinning tales in their tangled web of romance.
Then there’s our bold Y/N, who once scorned this very app but has now ascended to its throne, igniting Lucifer's antics like a match to kindling! What a transformation, my friends!
But amidst the chaos, it’s heartwarming to see the overlords come together for a moment of camaraderie, lamenting the state of our wicked world. I must say, Velvette’s sentiments resonate with me, for the womb indeed has been the source of my own trials and tribulations!
So, until next time, my darlings, when we dive back into the delightful drama of ‘The Real Housewives of Pride’

Unwilling Alpha
Chapter 10
The reveal and live
Warnings ⚠️ swears, abo dynamics, mentions of slave trade, mentions of rape, mentions of abuse, mentions of death, fear, manipulation panic attack description.
Nothing within reflects anyone or anything irl. Pics off pinterest.
°•°•°•°••°•°•°•°
I took a deep breath. This was happening. I had no choice.
As they gave people a chance to join the live, I decided to pull it up on my own phone. It was a surreal feeling being able to watch the live and see it in person.
I joined all the fans greeting the boys by sending a wave emoji of my own and a set of heart hands, chuckling at my own stupidity. A few seconds later Lee Knows’ laugh made me look up from reading all the comments.
“You’re such a dork.” He shook his head at me but had a fond smile on his face.
“What?” Han asked looking over at Lee Knows phone.
“She commented a wave and heart hands.”
Han smiled toothily at me and waved.
“Aww, I missed it!” Changbin complained scrolling through the comments to try and find it.
“Just wave to her, she’s right there!” Seungmin gestured to me.
“It’s not the same!”
And then I watched the viewers realize that Stray Kids was going to maybe reveal their Alpha on the live and subsequently flip out.
“We will be announcing a couple surprises today.” Chan confirmed, teasing STAY slightly.
“Good surprises!” I.N added with his wide dimple smile directed at the camera. He was going to end some lives if he kept that up.
“We should have set you up with media before this, to make sure your profiles are secure.” JYP mused immediately pulling out his phone and typing away.
I squinted at him suspiciously. “You know all my log ins, don’t you.” I accused.
JYP scoffed. “Of course I do.”
The man was thorough in his good intentioned stalking/protecting, I’ll give him that. I was afraid of what else he knew. My bank account information? My graduating GPA? Yeah, most likely.
“They are going to get everything done now. Hopefully before you go on and netizens manage to hunt you down.” He informed putting his phone away again.
I shrugged a shoulder. “Cool. Thanks.” I didn’t really know how to reply to that. I didn’t even know if id notice a difference on my profiles.
The boys started off by officially announcing the end of their hiatus with a little cheer. They talked about things they worked on between Alphas while on hiatus, feeding off each other’s energy really well. Each passionately talking about their extracurricular activities. Gaming, baking, guitar, art, cooking, they shared it all with STAY.
When they started to talk about finding their Alpha I really started to panic. It was almost time for me to go on and become known. My heart raced and I started to shake and sweat. My breathing was so short and fast I was almost hyperventilating. Or maybe I really was hyperventilating. Locking my body, I frantically shook my head when the guys finally gestured me forward.
“Y/n, its okay. Come on.” I.N called waving his hand.
I just shook my head more frantically and took a step back, bumping into J. “That’s your cue, Y/n.” He whispered to me.
“Nononononono.” I chanted still shaking my head.
Chan stood and jogged over to me, taking my hands, and resting our foreheads together to bring comfort with touch and scent. His warmth radiating to me as well.
“Be nice STAY, she’s really nervous.” Changbin told the live, him and the others stalling me while Chan calmed me down.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I can’t! I can’t do it!” I whispered, voice shaking as I tried not to cry and ruin the makeup caked on my face.
Chan nodded slightly, forehead still on mine. “You can. You can do this. We are all right here for you.”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” I chanted trying to pull away. To escape and run.
“Hey, hey, hey. Shh, shh. Look at me.” Chan held me firm, transferring from holding my hands to cupping my face, thumbs stroking soothingly. “We will not let anything happen to you.” He stated firmly, holding my gaze steadily.
“I can’t, I can’t! Chan, I can’t!” I was begging, pleading. For what, I’m not sure. A way out? Permission? Forgiveness? I needed Chan to help me. To understand.
“Y/n, just breathe. I’m right here. I’m with you. Deep breaths.” He took exaggerated deep breaths for me to copy.
I nodded and copied him, breathing choppily, but attempting to match him as best I could. Focusing entirely on him and my breathing. In…and out…in…and out. The air swirling deep into my lungs before leaving in a slow, but gradually getting steadier stream. In…and out. Chan in front of me, breathing with me, holding me gently, but warm and steady. His calming scent filling my nose and lungs with each inhale. In…and out.
My heart rate slowed with my breathing, clearing my head of the blind panic that had overcome me. I was here. My Omegas were here. JYP was here. We were all okay.
“Feel better?” Chan asked smoothing my hair back from my damp forehead.
I nodded slightly, jerkily, still half focused on my breathing.
Behind Chan, the others were telling stories of what we did during my week stay with them, Including the photoshoot and the infamous monopoly game where I still owed Lee Know money. And he’s not forgetting that any time soon.
I place my hands over Chris’. “I’m sorry.” I breathed out.
Chan shook his head. “No need to apologize. I know this is all new to you and it’s a lot and happening really fast. After the reveal it will steady a bit while we get ready for tour, okay?”
“Okay, okay. I’m okay. I can do this. I got this.” I chanted more for myself than for Chan.
Chan nodded. “You do got this. We are not going to let you look like a fool alone.” He joked lightly with a smirk. “Now, let’s do this.” He weaved his fingers in mine and turned toward the others.
Felix looked over with a bright smile and big pleading eyes. “Cuddles?” He asked, reaching out and making cute little grabby hands at me.
I freaking melted in the face of tiny Felix being tiny and adorable. I let Chris lead us both to the couch where Felix immediately pulled me close and draped himself on me.
“This is our Alpha, L/n F/n.” Felix introduced me again, hugging me tighter briefly.
I swallowed and looked at the tablet with the best smile I could muster. This is just like talking to new clients. It’s all about customer service. It’s all acting and catering to the client – or in this case, STAY. Customer service I could do. Been perfecting that since my first job running register at the local mom and pop corner shop when I was 13.
“Hello, STAY! I’m so glad to be here with Stray Kids today as we share all our updates and good news!” I waved at the camera with my free hand.
With Chan still holding my hand and Felix cuddling close, I managed to bury my nerves, anxiety, and panic and settle into my customer service persona. A familiar and comfortable role.
As JYP promised, the boys led the conversation, feeding me in and helping me find the right things to say so I didn’t mess up. They were seasoned pros at this by now. Just as comfortable on camera as they were off camera.
“They want to know why it took so long to bond if you were with us for an entire week.” I.n informed. I was not looking at my own phone anymore because I was honestly scared to see the comments concerning myself.
I sighed and wrinkled my nose at the question. I know next to no one would understand my reasoning. “There are a lot of things to take into account when making such a big decision.” I began, attempting to keep my answer vague, but still truthful. “I wanted to be sure.”
I would catch flack for that, I am positive. They will say I am ungrateful and unworthy. But I stand by what I did. How I got here. It was the best way for me. And my Omegas and me both needed me to be 100% positive, or I wouldn’t be able to be the Alpha we all needed. I really wouldn’t be worthy.
Lee Know seemed to bristle as he read the responses. I could see exactly how angry each new comment made him. Watch as thunder danced in his eyes and clouded his perfect face.
So, I kissed the back of Chans hand still in mine, then Felixs temple before removing myself from both men to move over to the couch with Changbin, Han, and Lee Know.
I sat sideways on Changbins lap, my legs bent over Lee Knows lap and feet tucked under Hans thigh. Changbin adjusted so he had one arm loosely around my middle and Han snuck a hand under my jean leg so his fingers could brush the bare skin on my ankle.
I, however, was mainly focused on Lee Know, stroking his hair away with a finger and watching as it bounced back into place. I leaned towards his ear, bending so we could talk more privately. “Don’t be mad at them, kitty. I’m STAY too, remember? They are not going to say anything I didn’t already tell myself.” He looked up to meet my eyes, still upset. “They are protective of you because they love you. They don’t know that I love you too and just want to protect you the best way I can.”
He thrust his phone at me. “They are saying awful things! Calling you ugly!” He growled.
I giggled at the sweetness of him getting defensive over me. “Lee Know, they aren’t wrong.” I poked his forehead when his furrow deepened at my words. “Look how long it took for the stylists to get me ready. How much work it took. And I still look like crap next to you guys! You are all so gorgeous, and I’m average at best.”
Changbin poked my side, making me jump. “You shouldn’t talk bad about yourself.” He disapproved.
I shook my head with a smile. “I’m not. I know how lucky I am to even be considered average. It’s just you are all on your own level.” I pursed my lips. We were getting off track. “Not the point. Point is, there is no reason to get upset.”
“Yeah, well that’s easier said than done.” Lee Know grumped.
“Just move on with the announcements.” I gestured to Chan.
The announcement of the mini tour successfully distracted STAY, who went feral for the news. I suspected that tickets would not last long once they went on sale.
It also distracted the guys enough that after a few minutes I was able to slip off camera. They were so into excitedly talking about their mini tour that I don’t think any of them even noticed my absence.
J gave me a one-armed hug. “You did very well. Very natural.” He praised quietly. I nodded in gratitude with a relieved sigh. It was over. The hurtle was jumped.
The world knew my face. Knows I’m an Alpha. There really is no coming back from that. Maybe one day that thought won’t make fear settle heavy in the pit of my stomach.
J turned us toward the door, and I went willingly enough, though I was careful not to leave the Omegas line of sight. The last thing I wanted to do was disappear on them suddenly.
“I want to introduce you to your security.” J gestured to 2 fairly large men waiting patiently just outside the room.
“My security?” I had just figured I would be included by whosever security I was with at that moment.
“This is Duri and Minjun. You don’t leave the apartment or this building without one of them. Not even to get your mail.”
I bowed in greeting to both men politely and smiled. “I’m grateful, but is it needed?”
“Absolutely. Each member has their own security, and you will be no different.”
He knew more about the dangers than I did, so I wasn’t about to argue with him. “Okay. Thank you in advance.”
Minjun offered a bag to JYP. “Oh, good, they got that done quick. These are yours, Y/n. Everything is set up for you already.” I peeked into the bag J handed over to me. Laptop, tablet, phone, all shiny new and top of the market. He even went so far as to make sure I had an android, which was my preferred phone. (A/N: fight me!)
“J, no. I’m not comfortable with this.” Ironic that Felix and I were just discussing a new phone this morning. If I didn’t know any better, I would say Felix tattled on me. The timing was just too perfect to be purely coincidence.
“I know what you are thinking and relax. This isn’t a handout. Its payment for work you have already done and work you will do.”
“I haven’t done anything. Being their Alpha is not a job. I don’t want paid for it.” I handed the bag back.
“I’m not paying you for that. You’ve taken several photos for Stray Kids, and you did a live today.” He pushed the bag back towards me. “You will do more in the future. Don’t argue. I’m stubborn. I’ll win.”
I rolled my eyes and gave in. “I will earn this and anything else.” I warned.
“I’d expect nothing less.” JYP gave me another one-armed hug. “I need to go. You did very good. Thank you, I know how hard this was. And scary. I’ll make sure you stay safe.” He promised.
Before I could respond I was grabbed from behind and lifted off my feet. I squealed in shock.
“Too far away.” Seungmin complained carrying me back into the room and to his seat on the couch. “Found her.” He announced.
“I rolled my eyes, looks like I didn’t get away after all. “I was barely out of the room! I could still see you!”
Seungmin sat me on his lap, arms still locked around me. “Too. Far. Away.”
Hyunjin twisted so he lay half on top of me and Seungmin, getting comfortable and placing his feet on I.ns lap. I.n and Seungmin didn’t seem to mind, neither making a sound of complaint.
I let my head fall back onto Seungmins shoulder and wrapped an arm around Hyunjin so my hand rested splayed out on his chest, moving occasionally to rub absentmindedly as they all went back to their live.

The way
Warnings: None really.
Pairings: Team Flash, Harry x Reader.
Word count: 1.6K+
A/N: I made something cute again! I’m apparently all in for the cute stuff lately. I was looking on Pinterest to get some ideas and I fell over this. I just knew it had to be Cisco’s line, didn’t imagine it to turn into a whole Harry situation, but it kinda did!
GIF and Prompt isn't mine. Found on google and found on Pinterest.
You had always been an active outdoorsy person. You always played every sport you could find. You’d take long walks with your family, and when you got old enough you went hiking on your own. You had traveled quite a lot, all over the world really.
Lately, it had been some slow days for team Flash, metas were on the down-low, no big current villain to haunt down. So you had convinced the team to come hiking with you. You knew an amazing place just outside of Central City. It was beautiful at sunset, but it was also a bit of a hike to get on top of the small mountain.
It wasn’t everyone who was as excited for it as you were, and a few, or one specific, had been quite reluctant to go. It’s no point, makes no sense to waste our time doing this. Our time is better spent developing our tech than this, you recalled in your memory. Others had been excited and joyful. Oh yes! This would be awesome, it’s going to be so much fun! You had laughed at how excited Barry was to go.
You looked around at your friends, they were like family to you and you were so excited to be spending this time with them. Barry was running in the front with Ralph right on his heels. They had made it into a competition; who could reach the top first? Caitlin and Iris were walking beside you and right behind you were Harry and Cisco, who were of course bickering about something.
“You know, this wasn’t a bad idea Y/N,” Caitlin mused beside you, all you could do was smile and say thank you. You dwelled in the moment, making mental pictures of it, because you knew you would have to go back to the real world at some point. Suddenly you heard a yelp.
“This is my life now. I have climbed this hill and now I will die upon it.” Cisco dramatically exclaimed. “Shut up. We’ve only been hiking for twenty minutes.” You and Harry said in unison causing the two girls beside you to laugh. “You two have a fun way of being quite alike,” Iris ushered. “Have you made up your mind?” Caitlin continued Iris’ thinking. You smiled and shook your head. “Come on, you must know if you want to or not!” Iris said a little louder than you wanted her to.
“Iris, shhh!” You half panicked when Harry glanced at you with an amused look. “I don’t need him to know anything,” you spoke lowly. “At least not until I tell him on my own,” you continued as you looked at your girlfriends. A big smile spread on both of their lips. “Oh yes! You’re going to be so cute,” Iris shrieked.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself Iris. It would have to include that he likes me too, ya know.” You tried to not get your own hopes up.
You had had a crush on the Earth 2 Harrison Wells for quite some time by now. Iris had asked you one day what it was about him that made your heart flutter. At that moment you had said everything, but it had started a thought process over what it was about him.
You could conclude on your own that it was the way his dimples came out when he smiled at you. It was the way he looked at you, that made your knees go soft. It was the way it didn’t matter to you if you understood what he said or not, you just loved to listen to him talk about something he was passionate about. It was the way that he tried to explain it to you, with no annoyance or anything. It was the way it felt when your fingers grazed each other when handing stuff to one another. It was the small hugs at the end of the really long days, that no one saw. It was something only you two had and moments only you shared.
It was how he always put a smile on your lips when you thought of him. The way he made fun with you, told jokes, and laughed with you. He’s the first thing you think of in the morning and the last thing you think of at night.
You glimpsed back at him. His baseball cap tugged down on top of his glasses, his black t-shirt showing his very nice muscled arms, and his sweater wrapped around his waist because it became too hot to wear. Oh yeah, and then he’s just flipping hot and sexy, you thought to yourself.
—
“Iris come on, you need to see the view from up here!” Barry yelled down to his wife. A big smile spread across her face. “Race you to the top?” Cisco chimed in right beside you. They all shared a look and ran off, leaving you behind with Harry.
“Hey,” He said as he joined you and adjusted his speed to fit yours.
“Hey yourself,” you said as you nudged his shoulder with yours and a smile you couldn’t hide. “Is it as bad as you thought it would be?” You slowly started to converse with him. He breathed in and held it for a second before letting it go in a small laugh.
“Well no, not with you by my side at least,” He smiled as he glanced down at you. His icy blue orbs were filled with enjoyment and warmth. Maybe Iris and Caitlin weren’t wrong when they said he had a thing for you too.
You reached the top with the others just in time for the sunset creating the most beautiful purple, pink, and orange lights across the sky.
“Wow, this is absolutely stunning,” Caitlin pointed out to the rest of the group. “How long have you kept this gem to yourself?” She continued looking back at you.
“Well, not for as long as you would think. I found it a few months ago, just haven’t had a chance to show you guys yet,” you stated.
Everyone fell silent for a while. Barry and Iris were sitting with their legs hanging off the little cliff, and Ralph, Cisco, and Caitlin were joking about something further away. Yourself, you were leaning on a big stone that was stood by a tree. Enjoying the moment. Savoring it as much as you possibly could. Harry came up to lean against the tree beside you.
“Ya know, I was afraid something would happen and ruin this moment. I was expecting a meta alarm to finally go off and take this moment away from us, but it didn’t.” You looked into the horizon, with a dreaming look on your face.
“I think we needed this more than we thought,” Harry caught your attention and you turned to look at him, his hand resting on your shoulder. His features were soft as he spoke. “With Savitar, with the metas, with the Earth X’ers. Having this moment with our family is worth more than anything,” Harry was a quite soft and warm person behind the hard glares, the grumpiness, and the insults.
“Harry, with a risk of ruining this moment, can I ask you two questions?” You turned completely towards him with a soft smile on your lips.
“Sure, though I would bet to say it would equal in three questions, taking the one you just did ask,” He joked and huffed a small laugh. “See, already ahead of you, that was one of the two questions!” You exclaimed poking out your tongue at him. “I know you too well,” You continued and he laughed. His laugh was like music to your ears, you would give anything to listen to it all day.
“Go on,” he pushed. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath before opening them again, looking straight into his captivating ones.
“How do you feel about me?” You spoke lowly scared to say it out too loud.
“How do I feel about you?” He looked puzzled at you. You looked down on the ground before you spoke again.
“I like you, Harry. I like you a lot, and I have for a while now. I just haven’t had the guts to ask, because I’m afraid I might ruin what we have. We have an amazing friendship, and you are by far one of my best friends, and I would hate for it-” you ranted on before you were cut short by Harry.
“Y/N, stop blabbering and look at me,” His hand went to take yours and you looked more at your hands than at him. He crouched down into your view forcing you to look at him, and you followed as he stood up straight again. “I have a hard time going through my day if I don’t see you. It’s like my day isn’t good before I’ve seen your smile. You're the one who brings some light into my life while Jesse isn’t here. I wouldn’t want our friendship to be jeopardized in the slightest bit.” He continued to talk, and you could feel your face fall a little bit at the last part he was saying. “Stop overthinking it, Y/N. I’m trying to say that I like you a lot too, it’s just not coming across the way I want it to,” He laughed nervously as his hand went to scratch the back of his neck.
You looked up at him, removing the last part of space between you as you stepped up to kiss him. His hands found their way to cup your face and yours snaked around his neck.
“FINALLY!” Cisco and Ralph yelled out. You laughed against his lips before he started pecking your lips several times in a row. His hands snaked around your waist instead and deepened the kiss. “Okay you two, we get it, you’re in love, now get a room!” Cisco yelled out again.
“Shut up Cisco!” You yelled out in unison again.

Thanks to my beloved fellow unhinged Chuuya simps, I wrote this monster. Please do let me know if youre interested in more domestic malewife Chuuya, because woo boy was this fun to write. <3
----------------
Chuuya Nakahara x Reader - Domestic Adventures Wordcount: 4,7k Short summary: Chuuya, being the kind man he is, gives you an empty room after moving together to do with whatever you like. While he is gone over the weekend, you get to know his subordinates and take him up on that offer. Warnings: NONE - Reader is an socially awkward mess, Chuuya being a cutie, author is too dumb to propperly proofread, author is unsure at this point what sap means, but also doesnt get a clear answer from google, so she will let it stand the way it is.
-----------------
"Chuuya... I eh.. that's really kind, but seriously I dont-'' Rudely you were interrupted by a chaste kiss that your favorite ginger pressed into your lips.
"No back-talking. I insist you take it and make it yours. I never used it for anything anyway. Was planning to turn it into a wine room perhaps but it serves a way better purpose as your room." You looked at him, annoyed, a sigh escaping your lips.
"But you like wine." You mused, trying to convince him again, but he was a stubborn man after all. "Yeah, but I like you more, doll. And you moved into my apartment, so I think it's fair you get a room where you can destress and take a break from me if you ever need one."
Leaving your side he picked up his hat from the kitchen island, before coming up behind you, pressing a few kisses to your neck.
"I'm leaving my credit card with you, the pin if you need it is our anniversary. And since I unfortunately have work to do, I have two of my subordinates waiting outside if you want to go anywhere. They will also gladly help you with anything regarding the room, just ask yeah?"
You looked at the room one last time, before turning around to hug him. "Okay. I'll see what I do with this room. Be careful okay?"
He nodded, kissing you one last time before leaving out the door. His heart ached each time he had to leave for a while, especially over the weekends but it also gave you time to fully focus on this project and he was more than excited to see what you'd do.
Back inside the apartment that now was your home too, you really were unsure what to do. Being given a rather spacious room to do whatever you want with it... that was a new thing.
But it wasn't like you had no Pinterest boards filled with room inspos. Scrolling through them while drinking tea helped you to get a better idea of what you wanted to do.
So a little paint would be needed, some furniture, and loads of tiny decorations. But how would you even manage to paint, the last time was when you moved into your old apartment, and that sucked majorly.
Remembering that your trusty boyfriend had left his subordinates with you, you could ask them perhaps. After getting ready to go out you went out into the spacious hallway that lead to the apartment, where two men dressed in black suits were already standing.
"Um, hey." You said awkwardly. Could you even ask hardened mafia members to please help you paint a room? Well, you'd find out now. The burly guys nodded, signaling you to continue, no emotion readable on their faces.
"Well, I was planning to paint a room and I wondered if it was alright to ask for your help?"
"We'll do anything you ask of us, that was Nakahara-san's instruction." The blond one said, adjusting his sunglasses.
"I figured, but still, I want to ask, if you don't want to, you won't have to."
The ensuing silence felt awkward as you shifted from one foot to the other.
"Is the paint already inside or do you need an escort to the city first?" The brown-haired one asked and you responded with a weird ramble of all the things you would need and places you planned on going to.
"Well, we better get going then right?" The blond one said and guided you over to the elevators.
It wasn't long before you sat in the backseat of one of the Port Mafia's Standart black cars, with your new companions sitting in the front. The ride was silent and you kept accidentally meeting their gazes whenever they went to look in the rear mirror to check in on you.
"(L/N)-san?" The brunette spoke up, making you cringe a little being addressed so formally.
"Just Y/N is fine!" You said.
"Right, Y/N, you can always call a friend if you want to have someone more familiar with you. We can pick them up on the way." You shook your head.
"No, it's alright."
You'd rather not subject your friends to suddenly seeing you with an entourage since most didn't even know you're dating a Mafioso. You had lied and told them he was working a government job and therefore needed his privacy.
So far no one had ever questioned you further about your elusive boyfriend and you preferred it to stay that way.
The first stop at Ikea made you grateful Chuuya had left these guys with you, since it was really helpful having four strong extra hands who lifted heavy packages and drove the carts around for you.
You still wanted to disappear in a hole whenever customers or workers turned their head, watching you with confused expressions but yeah, you'd need to get used to that now.
Chuuya was overprotective and now that it was more apparent that you belonged to him, there was no chance you'd have much alone time while out and about. Somehow the Mafia would always have an eye on you, even if it's just to calm Chuuyas mind.
"We scanned everything in, you can now pay." The blond said and you nudged past the many cartons to hold Chuuyas card to the card reader that happily asked you for the pin.
Typing in your anniversary date made the window close and a long paper came rushing out. You quickly collected it, stuffing it in your purse before you and your companions went back outside. Just outside the building, you noticed there was no way in hell all the new stuff would fit.
"Hey eh, guys, how are we gonna get this to Chuuyas?" You asked and the guys exchanged looks, obviously not having considered that either.
"I'll stay here, make a call and deliver them in a while, you go and pick up the rest." The brown-haired one offered, making you immediately feel bad.
"But won't that be... boring or rude?" You asked but he shook his head. "It won't take long, don't worry." You nodded and waved goodbye, following the blond to the car.
Once back on the road you finally asked what had been on your mind.
"Mind if I ask your name? It feels weird not knowing who's driving me around and all." You said and you spotted a smile from the rear mirror. "Sato and the other guy is Hiro."
You nodded, the awkwardness still barely fleeting.
While picking up the paint and anything else needed to mount the furniture later you and Sato fell into some Smalltalk. Nothing deep or noteworthy, just anything to ensure no awkward silence could take place again as it drove you up the walls.
The ever so slim fear that these guys could tell Chuuya how much of an awkward mess you were had a chokehold on you.
After being sure you had everything needed for the start, you two drove back, only stopping by a bakery you spotted near your new home.
When you were finally back in the familiar four walls of your home, you saw that Hiro had been a busy bee, by having gotten all the new furniture already up and inside.
"Oh wow, thank you so much." You said and placed the bakery goods on the kitchen island. Meanwhile, your new Mafia friends, if they could be considered that even, sorted things away and then quickly grabbed everything to start painting Soon.
"So what's the plan?" Hiro asked you eventually and had you pull up the references you picked out.
"You guys think you can manage that?"
"Don't doubt our capability." They humored you and got to work, while you began putting together the little nick-nacks that would soon find home in the room.
Around the early evening, you made tea and coffee for the two men and served some of the cake you got earlier, which the two thanked you wholeheartedly for.
Even later again, they called it quits, the room now colored just how you wanted it. "Wow, that's perfect! Thank you two so much." You beamed at them and though they would never admit it, they felt glad you enjoyed it.
"Well, it'll need to dry overnight before we put in the furniture tomorrow, so we will leave you to it for tonight, alright?" Hiro stated and you bid your goodbyes, now once more alone in the spacious apartment that currently was inhabited by Swedish packages, and loads of decorations, only waiting to find their place soon.
Yeah, this was all coming together.
The next morning started slow, the bed always felt the worst if Chuuya wasn't in it with you, but you managed to pull it together once you were munching on your breakfast. Especially when a quick message pops up on your phone.
Chuu Chuu: Thinking about you
He was a sap, even if he'd never admit it. It was tiny gestures like these that had you know how much he loved you. Even when he was away on missions or errands, he tried to find the time to let you know his heart was with you.
Same here. Can't wait to see you again.
You replied and put it down to walk to your front door which had just been knocked on, opening it to be met with the two guys from yesterday.
"Morning." You said and they replied the same, as you let them in. "Coffee, tea, anything I can offer you guys?" You asked, still feeling guilty for taking advantage of the fact that Chuuya had ordered them to fulfill your every wish.
"Am fine for now, what about you?" Hiro asked Sato, who agreed to not need anything.
You shrugged and watched as the two inspected the now-dried walls in your room, then making plans on the next steps.
"Need any help?" You chimed in, but again, the two declined.
"No need. Enjoy your morning Y/N." You nodded slowly and sat back down on the red, expensive couch with your tea, while scrolling through your phone.
Ever so often you'd look up, watching the two Mafiosi rip open packages, bicker about what they'd do first, and carry things around.
Soon little to no big packages were left, Sato and Hiro currently working on a bookshelf, when your scrolling was interrupted by a phone call from Chuu Chuu. Surprised you picked up immediately.
"Hey, didn't think I'd hear from you so soon." You said, getting up to satisfy the odd urge to walk around while talking.
"I currently have a little downtime before I'm probably am right back in the middle of annoying shit, so I called my doll. How is the room progress coming along? Are the guys helping you?"
You slyly took a peak in said room, watching the almost finished bookshelf and replied; "Yeah, going great. At this rate you won't even see any trace of package material." You laughed and he chuckled along too.
"I cannot wait to see you again. I miss you." He sighed, his longing clearly audible.
"Chuu, it's been barely twenty-four hours."
"And? Even a minute without you inflicts me more pain than any other wound I have received over the years." You bit your lip, trying to not laugh. If anyone knew the scary gravity manipulator and Mafia executive was one of the most domestic and sappy guys you knew, no one would believe you.
"You're exaggerating."
"Perhaps a little. But my point still stands. I'll treat you to dinner on Monday when I'm back alright?" You leaned on the kitchen island, a dreamy smile plastered across your face and you could only imagine that Chuuya must look similar.
"Alright. See you Monday yeah? I don't wanna keep you from work. Watch out for yourself." You said.
It felt unnecessary to tell him to be careful, he was the strongest man you knew, but you still said it. And while you did it, Chuuya appreciated it each time.
"Of course. The same goes for you. I love you Doll."
"Love ya too Chuuya." And then there was silence, except for the hammering coming from the room. A sigh escaped your lips.
Fuck, him calling you only made you miss him like crazy. How cruel of him.
It only took another hour after Chuuya had checked in with you, for Sato and Hiro to have finished building and placing all the furniture. They watched you inspect the room and felt relieved when you gave them a thumbs-up.
They were kind enough even to help you sort in all your stuff, the new plants, lights, books, figures, even when you had said multiple times that it wouldn't be necessary.
As you poked a fork into your takeout you finally asked the two, "Don't you like... I dunno, get bored of hanging around me..?"
Looking up from their portions, they immediately shook their head.
"Not really. Even if, we couldn't complain since Nakahara-san gave us this order, and the order is to "keep his most priced possession safe"." The three of you finished the sentence, imitating Chuuya.
Yeah, he really was obsessed with your safety ever since he knew he wanted you by his side. Well, being in Chuuyas Highranking Mafia position, he of course had enemies and while you knew you could be targeted just to get to him, you always found him to get a little too paranoid.
Sure, he had lost so much already and was afraid of losing again, but you weren't a child. Though you still appreciated his concern and knew he'd never trap you, make you depend on him or anything, he simply wanted your safety assured so his mind was calmer.
You knew him too well by now.
"Well, thanks anyways for all the help! Don't think I could have gotten the whole thing done this quick without you." The two guys smiled at you, nodding their heads.
The evening soon came to an end as you declared you'd take a bath and then go to bed, feeling exhausted even if you barely did much today.
Sato and Hiro bid their goodbyes, telling you they will check in tomorrow around noon for your well-being and then left to keep guard around the block.
Once more, an evening alone. It was spent with some snacks in front of the TV, catching up on some series that Chuuya wasn't interested in.
It was a nice distraction from the now lonely feeling in the apartment. When you could barely keep your eyes open, you decided it was time for bed.
Sinking into the luxurious and spacious bed, you fell asleep right in the middle, hugging Chuuyas pillow close to you, his scent slowly lulling you into a well-rested sleep.
Well, the well-rested was a lie. You had woken up, groggy and exhausted, despite having slept rather long. Thanks bunch weird nightmares that don't even make sense.
With a hot mug in hand, you took pictures of the room, sending it to your friends to flex a little.
Youre kidding? Holy shit that looks so cool?
Does your bf have a brother or something?
A whole ass room to yourself? Wow you really finally got lucky. When are we finally gonna meet him?
You hated that question. Chuuya had told you countless times since moving together that you were more than welcome to invite people, but you always felt uncomfortable in a weird way.
First off, you didn't wanna come across as a sugar baby. This whole apartment screamed money and luxury and then there was you, a regular person from Yokohama, that'd beg questions.
Second, you liked to keep Chuuya away from your relationships with other people. He wasn't the only worrywart in your relationship. You simply felt uncomfortable, possibly spilling what Chuuyas occupation actually was.
Sure, it sucked having to always plan meet-ups elsewhere, but you liked it better that way.
Soon perhaps. He's currently out working over the weekend
You replied and watched as your friends flooded your phone, jealous that you seemingly found the perfect guy™.
Chuckling you sat down on the new couch in your room, putting on the LED lights.
Yeah, you could get used to this.
Maybe it was good that Chuuya didn't relent.
It was already pitch back outside when Chuuya parked his motorcycle in the garage of his apartment complex. He was spent. But back a whole day earlier.
He could still have a nice relaxing Sunday evening with you, and that was all he currently wanted. He checked his phone for the report from Hiro, which had him chuckling as he rode the elevator up.
They are truly a sweetheart. You made a good catch Nakahara-san.
He had expected nothing else. Your kindness and irresistible smile was what had him at his knees all the way back then and he had suspected that even his subordinates would like you.
Sighing contently, he unlocked the apartment door and when you didn't immediately rush to him, he figured you must be occupied or aren't hearing the rustling of him taking his coat, shoes and hat off.
The dinner he had picked up on the way was placed in the open kitchen and spotting colorful lights coming from the room he left to you, he knew where to find you.
But first he got rid of his second jacket, vest and leather accessories, remaining in only his white dress shirt and black dress pants. Creeping up to the open door, he knocked before entering, finding you playing video games on a new couch.
The shocked expression as you pulled your earbuds out warmed his heart, especially when you broke into a huge grin.
"But it's not Monday." You said and got up to embrace him. Hugging you tightly and enjoying just having you in his arms he finally replied; "Worked extra hard to get back quicker. Can't leave my doll all alone for so long, now can I?"
His hands found your face, holding it still, while he pressed kisses all over it, until he eventually, finally, kissed your lips.
After enjoying the sweet sweet bliss you stepped away a little presenting the new room.
"So what you say?" You asked, gauging his reaction. It was your room, but you still wanted him to like it.
"Looks lovely. I really like what you have done with the place. Better than a wine room for sure." He hugged you from behind as he looked around, taking in all the details.
Your favorite books, merch from shows and games you enjoyed, lots of LEDs and fairy lights, plants, a comfortable carpet.
Yeah, it was truly pretty, just like you.
"You know I won't enter unless you give me permission right?"
"You're in here right now and I don't remember giving you permission." you teased him, humming as you swayed from left to right. "You know what I mean."
"I do. And I appreciate it Chuu."
He pressed a kiss to your neck as you pulled him with you to the couch. Quickly spinning around to face him, your hands hooked around his neck, pulling him with you as you let yourself fall down onto the soft material, with Chuuya obviously having used his ability by the way you very softly landed.
Reuniting your lips again and again was now the agenda, the smiles never fading from either of your faces.
When Chuuya then lifted his upper body up, you looked at him puzzled.
"I brought food." Pulling him back down, you kissed him again, your tongue softly swiping over his and he gladly opened his own mouth to let your tongues meet.
Your hands moved from lovingly brushing your thumbs over his cheeks to his soft hair, playing with some strands, which had him groan into your mouth.
He was a mess in your hands when you played with the ginger locks. It took minutes until you pulled away, and when you looked at your boyfriend his pupils were blown wide. You loved having this effect on him.
"Want to eat now?" He asked and you contemplated. On the one hand... making out with him ... on the other... food.
"What did you have for lunch even?" He asked and you looked to the side.
"Nothing." You whispered but he heard you well and got up immediately, pulling you to the kitchen.
"Nothing? Yeah, no, you're gonna eat now." Rolling your eyes you still helped getting cutlery, glasses, and drinks to then finally sit down and eat.
It was a quiet dinner, like always, the only extra thing was Chuuya seeking out your hand to fold while he continued eating.
How could a man become so touch-starved after having been away for barely 48 hours? You couldn't imagine how bad it'd be once he'd be needed to get out of the country.
"What's got your mind running?" He asked, having noticed that you only poked your food with a smile on your lips.
"Oh just this really cute guy I know." "Oh." He mused, feeling up for the game. "He must be a pretty great catch if he's got you smiling like that."
Digging around in his pockets, he found his phone and started playing music over the stereo. You chuckled when he got up, inviting you to dance with him.
"Oh he is..." you murmured as Chuuya pulled you close, swaying with you softly to the music.
"Respects me, makes me smile, always puts my comfort first, insists even that I get a to have a personal room in his luxury apartment."
"Well, that does sound nice. Hope he's good-looking." You laughed as he dipped you, your head tilting all the way back as you couldn't meet his gaze. You know he was smirking waiting for an answer.
"Well..." You started as pulled you back up, straight into his chest. "He's got reeeal pretty eyes. Like I can get lost in them for ages. Nice and smooth skin, which he better should have, since he spends ages in the bath."
Chuuya laughed about your backhanded comment as he twirled you so your back was pressed against his chest, his hands roaming you still swaying body.
"His hair is also so nice too. I have never seen a haircut like that, but he absolutely rocks it. And the color... reminds me of the most beautiful sunsets."
Having heard enough, you were twirled once more, so Chuuya could lean his forehead against yours.
"What a guy. Do I know him?" You leaned closer to his lips, your breath ghosting over them as you spoke.
"Yeah, it's you, you fool." He broke the last piece of distance kissing you once more. As the song came to an end, he pulled away, only giving your forehead a quick kiss, and then quickly began cleaning up the kitchen.
You sighed as you watched him quickly clean.
"Are you tired?" You asked, knowing that since he came back a whole day earlier he must have been working hard.
"Yeah a little. Been on observation the whole night."
"Then let's get to bed soon, you need some rest." Not wanting to admit to needing that, the ginger waved his hand.
"Soon. Oh yeah, I haven't asked, but you have been alright with my subordinates, right? Like they didn't make you feel uncomfortable or anything?"
You chuckled, crossing your arms over your chest.
"Not at all. They were very sweet. Did they complain about me?"
"Of course not." Chuuya would genuinely like to see someone try and badmouth his partner to him. A laugh escaped him.
"It really seems that I wrap the Mafia about my finger. Are we sure I don't have an ability? The ability to make any mafiosi putty in my hands."
"To test that theory I should get Akutagawa to meet you. If he likes you, then I'll call it an ability." Chuuya immediately shuddered as he imagined the strange situation.
"Never mind that, I prefer you in one piece."
You laughed as he kindly pulled you along into the bedroom, flicking on the light so you both could change into more comfortable clothes.
"In one piece? Is he the eh..." You rummaged through your brain. It was rare that Chuuya was ranting and raving about his higher-ranking colleagues, so you desperately tried to find any information your brain had anchored to "Akutagawa".
"He's the dog guy right?" Chuuya started laughing his ass off, doubling over, he pulled his shirt off. "The silent rabid dog of the Port Mafia. That's what you mean right?"
You felt your face warm up. Wow, you kinda missed the mark.
"Yeah. But don't laugh so much, you kept confusing my best friend with that annoying customer from work!" You said and remember how shocked you had felt when Chuuya had casually offered to order a hit on your best friend, only to find you he had meant the annoying customer that had been bothering you for weeks.
"To be fair, they had really similar names!"
"They really aren't similar." Chuuya pouted and pulled out some jogging pants and a loose t-shirt and changed into them, still chuckling to himself that you called Akutagawa the dog guy.
"I'd prefer if my colleagues don't know much about you." He stated content when his ginger head pushed through his t-shirts opening.
"Why's that?" Instead of answering directly, he pulled you into bed with him, snuggling up to you, relinquishing in everything you had to offer.
"Well, you're mine. Don't want you to see what the Mafia has to offer." You snorted. As if that really was his reasoning, but it gave you another opportunity to stroke his ego.
"Pft, as if anything better than you is walking around there. You're already the Port Mafia finest."
Chuuya pressed a kiss on your hair, his warm hands already stroking your body in a gentle, soothing way.
Comfortable silence ensued, where you two only enjoyed the presence of the other.
This is home.
Chuuya is home. The feeling of being content, comfortable, and warm, Chuuyas simple presence gave all of this to you and he felt very much the same.
Before you, he had little to come home to. He didn't mind working longer, didn't mind doing more work, but ever since he knew you'd be waiting for him, he had cut back, less overtime, less spending the night in a bar and then power napping at the headquarters.
His life was just perfect right now.
And then you speaking about a dog came into his head again.
"Hey, doll... what would you say about getting a dog?"
"Huh?" Confused you looked at him, checking if he was joking.
"I have wanted one for ages but my duties leave me with so little time to properly care. But with you now here... I think we could manage."
"Are you forgetting I'm Working too?" He shook his head, his red locks of hair, bobbing around.
"Of course not. But your work times are actually normal and don't require you to fly out of the country in case of emergency."
"True true..." you mumbled. "And you'd be less alone! When I'm gone you'd at least have a companion."
He was really convincing and the way his eyes sparkled, you could only guess how long and deeply he has longed for a dog.
"That does sound enticing. I'll think about it." A bright smile stretched across Chuuyas face and he immediately peppered you in kisses.
"You're the best." He whispered in-between them, hugging you tighter.
This was your life. If someone had told you that you'd end up dating a Mafia Executive who controlled Gravity and was also the vessel for a god... you'd have laughed. That was simply absurd, but here you were, in bed with that exact guy.
You meeting him had been so long ago. It felt like ages.
And as the time went by, your love for Chuuya deepened, and the two of you faced life's challenges hand in hand. You knew that life with a Mafia Executive was far from ordinary, but you wouldn't have it any other way.
Despite the odds, you had found your place by Chuuya's side, and he had found his home in your arms.

Well, the writing muse is currently sulking in a corner and tearing out her hair, but the art muse has been feeling extremely chatty!
This is the first part of an intended 4-or-so panel series/comic strip, featuring Ahsoka and Starkiller as Rebels—and yes, they are 100% sending this pic to Vader as a postcard. Hi Master, wish you were here!
Did this one by sketching out one figure from a reference photo, then putting a pic of the sketch into Krita. Copied the outline, then used a colorize mask (ooh, fancy! literally had no idea this was even a thing a week ago, smh), added shading, extra outlining, and background.
Many thanks to the random redditor who mentioned making just one block with the rectangular select tool in Krita and then copying it multiple times to make a stone/brick wall. It makes life so much easier.
The Fulcrum + jaig eyes design in the graffiti is not entirely mine. Ages ago I saw a similar design while scrolling Pinterest, and later decided I wanted to make my own version as part of a 501 design.
If anyone has read this far and knows of any good Ahsoka & Starkiller fics, please share! I didn't find much of anything on AO3, but would love to see people's takes on how they might get along.

╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ BE MY MUSE—!
xiao x m! reader ( modern au )
≫ fluff fluff fluff you two share your love through music
there was nothing xiao hated more than summer.
the sun, overpowering the blackout liners behind his curtains, shining light into his usually dark room. he disliked how the one place he felt comfortable in, suddenly felt so jarring. he can’t focus with the sun hitting his eyes. it gave him a headache.
or the heat that accompanied him no matter the time. whether it’d be day or night, he felt like he was in the desert — drenched in sweat and dying for water. his whole body was burning up, and he finds his electricity bill higher than usual as he spends majority of the day with the air conditioning on. again, it gave him a headache.
but there was one thing that he liked in summer; y/n.
childhood friends were what they were. they had been each other’s side since diapers, and they planned to keep it that way. but with college and work nagging at them almost every day of the year, the two never got much of a chance to hang out.
this week y/n reached out, suggesting they go on a day trip together, to catch up and whatnot. neither of them really made much of an effort to plan things, they’ll go with the flow, like they always did. just because they haven’t seen each other in a while didn’t mean they don’t know how to even stand by the other’s side anymore.
─── ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁
xiao sat outside a café, taking a sip of his coffee as he aimlessly scrolled through his phone. his eyes skimmed at the words on his screen, barely processing a single sentence. he’s just trying to kill time.
“hey,”
a voice snaps him out of his trance, and he raises his head up. there he was, the man himself, y/n l/n. he hadn’t seen him in so long, he sort of forgot how he looked like. was this really his childhood friend? y/n’s gotten so.. handsome— what? what’s xiao even saying…
he mentally shakes his head, clearing the thought away. it was stupid thinking, and now’s not the time for that. not when they have things to do. he can daydream and admire y/n some other day.
“sorry, did i keep you waiting?”
xiao can’t even say a word, every sound that tries to leave his mouth gets caught in his throat. he mouths a “no” as he stands up, shoving his phone into his pocket and passing the other cup of coffee to y/n, who replies back with a “thank you” as he offers a smile.
they take their time to walk around the city. from going in and out of new shops they haven’t seen yet to petting the stray animals running through the streets, they went anywhere and everywhere they possibly could. this was the type of hangout xiao liked, one where he didn’t need to stress over details. and y/n knows that.
… which leads them to now, on a train heading to unfamiliar destinations. when it reached a station, neither of them stood up— they’ll get off when they finish their conversation, about recent activities that they’ve had and stuff. but some time pass, and they’re still on the train.
by now, they’ve ran out of things to say, and it should be around now that they head back home. they stay still on their seat. eventually, having grown tired of the silence that had took over their conversation, xiao reluctantly gives one bud of his earphones.
“let’s listen to some music.”
─── ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁
it’s gentle, it’s pretty— it’s love. the music danced into one ear and out the other, and it repeats on and on, like a horse on a carousel. this.. wasn’t something y/n had expected from the other. was this still the same man that used to play rock and metal covers on his guitar?
he turns, eyes flickering to the sky behind them, an ombre of pinks and oranges, then to xiao’s eyes, a mirror of said sunset. the two complemented each other perfectly, which raised the question: what was more appealing to the eye, xiao or the sunset? the obvious answer was the sky, but..
“since when did you listen to.. this?” y/n’s not sure what words he should exactly use, he could only hope he got his question across.
“i don’t.”
the reply was so simple, so straight to the point that misunderstandings weren’t an option no matter how much you overthink, and yet, he isn’t satisfied. for y/n, it only brings more questions into life, but there’s one that’s more annoying than the rest, one that he must know the answer to. his mouth moves before he can stop himself, asking the one million dollar question.
“why?”
… “why?” having made it out to be a question so extreme, surely it had to be more than that? a fault at heart, y/n admits. maybe it wasn’t that serious of a question than what he made it out to be, but in his mind, the response must be worth it. if not, he wouldn’t be panicking so much about it.
the lack of facial expression and minimal body language had him wondering if he had just been reading into the lines too much, over something xiao thought was nothing to gush and make a scene over. it must be something like “dunno, just got it recommended.” and that was it. but his expectations were pleasantly disappointed— or not disappointed?
“well, you like this genre, and i like you.”
xiao says it as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, barely batting an eye at the other as his eyes stay down, his gaze on his feet. it’s like he didn’t even care he practically just confessed his feelings. only he knew that deep down, how fast his heart was, and god it wouldn’t slow down even if he tried to.
what was only a minute or two felt like centuries, with both parties sitting in absolute silence. the music had stopped playing when y/n started talking, and a part of him kinda regretted that now. he doesn’t know if he’s grateful that there were no other people on the train or not… the only thing he knew was that, it’s his turn to say something.
“… i like you, too.”

[Wedding Planner AU] Part 3: Wedding Dress
Part 2: On the Restaurant's Balcony Area
I would like to thank @seiya-starsniper for reminding me about this AU, and making me realize that I had not, in fact, posted this chapter yet. 🙇♀️ It has literally been sitting (90% completed) in my labyrinth of notes since June 25. 😂
CW: just the usual 28 angsty stab wounds 😊
Being inside the Endless mansion is like being in a tomb.
Not that Hob has been to any tombs, since that would require a fuckton of money as well as the absence of common sense, but the air inside was noticeably heavier. No doubt the tangible weight of generations' worth of expectations and disappointments.
He remembers Dream not wanting to go back home for the holidays. How he took his sweet time packing, and even then he only packed light: a toothbrush bought from the convenience store near the dorms, a bottle of black nail polish, and snack sized chocolate bars enough to last him a month. He didn't take any of Hob's clothing with him, even though he wore them almost exclusively during the school year. He claimed that it was because they might get taken from him, but Hob suspected that it was because Dream had been ashamed of him.
Their eventual break up had proven him right.
"Mr. Gadling!"
Hob turns towards the pool area and spots Ms. Muse, wearing a bright yellow sundress and looking positively radiant. Meanwhile, Hob is a frazzled mess, having come straight from Constantine's main office all the way across London, making nonstop calls to catering companies in his car about the billion and one hors d'oeuvres Mrs. Muse and Mrs. Endless wanted.
"Ms. Muse," he greets amiably, and notices the distinct lack of her groom-to-be, as well as their overbearing mothers. "Is everyone else running late?"
"Oh, no," Ms. Muse says, and gestures to the comfortably padded wicker chair beside her. It seems that this meeting will be taking place in a less formal setting. Hob wonders if it is for his benefit or hers. Does he look as sleep-deprived as he felt? "Mother and Mrs. Endless are attending a soiree in Berlin, and Dream is working inside." She points to the side, where a dark figure is seated behind a desk, typing on his laptop, face set in concentration and earplugs in.
Hob remembers that face well. Dream is deep in 'the zone,' as they called it, back in the day. Hob remembers bringing him tea once in the early days, only to find it cold and untouched, and Dream apologetic afterwards. He had insisted on drinking the cold tea, but Hob took pity on him and drank the tea himself. After that incident, he would only make tea for Dream when he surfaces from his 'zone,' and it's a system that worked for them.
He wonders if Ms. Muse knows that, then mentally slaps himself. Of course she does. She's Dream's goddamn fiancee.
And more to the point, she would know Dream better than him, being in the same social class. They probably attended the same rich people parties all the time since they were kids.
Hob should just get this over with and leave. He still has more than three dozen calls he has to make before the end of the day, and an appearance to make at one of the junior wedding planners' small wedding receptions, to make sure that everything goes well, and to serve as back-up in case something goes wrong.
It's barely midday and he's already so fucking tired.
He takes out a stack of bridal magazines, since Ms. Muse expressed in her email that she prefers to flip through magazines rather than browse pinterest boards. Hob went the extra mile and got a couple of good vintage issues as well, in case she prefers the style of older gowns.
"Here," he says, and slides the stack towards the middle of the glass-topped wicker table between them. "Please feel free to browse and point out anything you like, even if it's just a color palette from a certain gown, the style of the lace, or the hairstyle of the model. We'll narrow down your choices later, and I will write and note down all your preferences. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me."
Ms. Muse dimples at him and excitedly flips through the topmost magazine on the stack. "Thank you for doing this, Mr. Gadling," she says. "I know it's not easy, what with our mothers' extravagant ideas, but you still manage to do everything so well and so professionally. I'm glad you're our wedding planner."
"Of course," Hob says, returning her smile, but doesn't say anything more. Lord knows what would happen if he were to speak his mind and tell her that all he's thinking about lately is foisting off the Muse-Endless wedding to someone else, preferably to someone who doesn't have a romantic history with the groom-to-be.
--
Hob notices that Ms. Muse is different when her mother and Mrs. Endless are not around. She looks more at ease, and instead of holding herself up so rigidly, she was slouching a little, one elbow on the table and one leg tucked neatly underneath the other.
She has told Hob that she definitely wants to have a simple, Grecian style gown made with light fabrics, and maybe a short train. She wonders if she could have a wedding gown that ombres from white to a dark orange at the bottom, while her bridesmaids (Dream's sisters and her own), could wear sunset-colored gowns to a style of their choosing that would fit their body type well.
"Delirium would definitely want to wear something like this, but have it ombre from a dark pink at the top to white at the bottom," she says, pointing to a Cinderella-style gown.
"Is Ms. Delirium Endless your maid of honor?" Hob asks as he notes down the page where the Cinderella gown is located, as well as the title and the issue number of the magazine where Ms. Muse found it.
Ms. Muse nods absently, waiting for Hob to finish his notes before flipping the page. "We have been friends since we were toddlers. I remember getting into so much trouble when she dared me to dye my hair bright green."
Hob chuckles. "I'm sure you looked like a very beautiful forest nymph."
"That's certainly one way of looking at it," Ms. Muse says, smiling. "But now I hope to repay the favor by making Deli look like a very beautiful radish."
Hob hums and reviews his previous notes. "Seeing as all the gowns of the wedding party are to be sunset-themed, I'm sure your mothers wouldn't take issue with it, if that's something that you're worried about."
Ms. Muse sighs happily. "I'm so glad we see eye to eye, Mr. Gadling. Oh, but please don't tell anyone about the secret meaning of Deli's dress!"
Hob smiles at her, this beautiful woman with a sunny personality. No wonder Dream fell hard for her. "Your secret is safe with me, Ms. Muse."
--
They talk about colors and fabrics some more, as well as the style of wedding veil that would pair well with her wedding gown. Ms. Muse, Hob is coming to find, is a very reasonable woman, very much unlike her own mother.
He just knows that she will be a good wife to Dream.
Hob had just finished answering her question about the feasibility of long wedding veils at a beach wedding and how detailed their embroideries can be, when Dream comes out from his office space and walks up towards them.
"Dream!" Ms. Muse says cheerily. "Are you going to be joining us after all?"
Hob makes sure the lines of his body are relaxed as he writes some more detailed notes, so he has the excuse of not looking up and greeting Ms. Muse's groom-to-be.
"No," Dream says. "I'm just taking a short break to get some tea. I still have emails to reply to and a meeting to oversee."
Ms. Muse nods understandingly. They really are a good match. Were it Hob in her place, he would have pestered Dream to eat something as well, and maybe rest his eyes and mind and hands for at least ten minutes. He would have asked Dream to lie down on his lap and stroke his hair until he falls asleep, then wake him up with kisses once his low-volume alarm beeps.
No wonder Dream got tired of him.
"That's too bad," Ms. Muse says. "But no worries! I'm having fun looking through the bridal magazines Mr. Gadling brought. Maybe we could even decide on what flowers to put in the wedding bouquet today."
"Sounds wonderful," Dream says, and he does sound like he means it. Hob wishes he could excuse himself without drawing any attention. He's sure Dream wouldn't even notice or care if he disappeared, but it would be rude to Ms. Muse if he just left.
Maybe he should just leave anyway so the bride and groom could have some time for themselves. Let them unwind for a bit and openly show each other affection without an unwanted audience.
"It is," Ms. Muse says brightly. "I was nervous because the task seemed daunting, but Mr. Gadling has been super helpful. He really knows his stuff, and he listens well and is very kind."
A pause. "He is," Dream says, and there's something in his voice that sounds unsure and vulnerable and maybe even a little hopeful. Hob quickly squashes that treacherous thought. Dream is about to get married. He would do well to remember that.
"Oh, hold on," Ms. Muse says, standing up. "Let me ring someone for tea. We could all use some, anyway."
She walks away, her yellow sundress waving like a flag behind her.
Hob does not have to look at Dream to know that he is staring after her.
Hob says nothing. He has nothing to say. Not now, when he is just the help.
"Thank you for assisting Calliope," Dream tells him, when Ms. Muse has disappeared from view.
"Of course, sir," Hob tells his notes, his tone bland and professional. "It's what I'm here for, you know. Gotta be helpful somehow or I'm gonna get fired."
The last part comes out bitter, and Hob doesn't know why he thought to say that. He should have just stopped talking after the first sentence and left Dream to navigate the awkward silence alone.
"Our mothers wouldn't dare to fire you," Dream says quietly. Gently. Hob grits his teeth as subtly as he could. "You are the best in your field. They would be hard-pressed to find someone better."
"Oh, I don't know about that, Mr. Endless," Hob says airily, and this time he looks straight at Dream when he says it. Dream looks taken aback when their eyes meet. Hob wonders if he could see the pain of the last ten, fifteen years in Hob's eyes. Hob hopes he does. Hob hopes he feels every last fucking glass shard buried in Hob's heart, still bleeding to this day. "I'm sure they would immediately find someone better to replace me with."
Dream looks like Hob just slapped him.
For a moment, there is pure devastation on his beautiful face. Lips slightly parted as if feeling the need to explain, eyes wide and wet, brows furrowed in hurt.
Hob has never seen him look like this before. They had never argued badly enough in the past to the point where Dream would be brought to tears.
Hob almost stands. Almost reaches for Dream to hold him in his arms, and allow him to hide his face against his neck while Hob pets his hair softly and soothingly, shushing him and murmuring against his ear that he doesn't mean it. That he's just hurt. That the last thing he wants is to hurt Dream.
But before Hob could do anything, decide whether or not to comfort the lost love of his life, Dream's mask reforms, and between one blink and the next, he is once again the picture of neutrality. "As you say, Mr. Gadling."
Hob opens his mouth. To apologize, perhaps, or to ask Dream how long it took him to move on.
'How long before you and Ms. Muse got together after we broke up?'
'How long before I'm only just another bad memory from the past?'
'How long did you really love me?'
'Were you actually in love with me, or was I just another way for you to rebel against your parents?'
He closes his mouth and says nothing. And for a few moments, he and Dream just looked at each other, Hob cataloguing all the ways Dream is still the same, wondering if he could have maybe done something differently that would have made Dream stay with him. Or maybe their relationship has always been destined to fail. They come from different backgrounds, after all, and Hob should have known to listen to fairytales.
Princes do not end up with paupers. They end up with beautiful princesses and live their lives happily ever after.
The only indicator of Dream's tumultuous thoughts is him raising his hand and almost unconsciously fidgeting with the ruby pendant of his necklace.
As soon as Hob's eyes drop to it, though, Dream stops entirely and places his hands on his sides, like nothing happened.
They were startled out of their silent staring when the door to the side opens, and Ms. Muse comes out like she brought the sun with her, as well as a fancy metal tea tray with three cups and a kettle that would not be out of place in 18th century Versailles.
"Mrs. Jones would be by in a bit with afternoon tea snacks," Ms. Muse says, just as Hob rises from his seat to take her burden from her. "Oh, thank you, Mr. Gadling. See how kind he is, Dream?"
"I have to return to my work," Dream says, and plucks the black teacup and its accompanying saucer right out of the tray that Hob is still holding.
Like Hob is just another goddamn servant employed by the Endless.
Then again, Hob thinks sardonically, that's exactly what he is, isn't he?
It's actually so nice to finally see that this is how Dream really sees him. Now Hob won't have to guess just what he is to him. What he always was.
Ms. Muse shrugs. "Sure. But don't work too hard, okay? Death will have my head if she finds out you're not taking proper breaks."
Dream visibly softens at the mention of his favorite sister. "Of course. I will see you later, Calliope." A colder glance at Hob. "Mr. Gadling."
Hob fights the urge not to bow mockingly. He settles for his default professional mode. Dream has just shown him where his proper place is, and Hob would do well to stay in it. "Mr. Endless."
Without another word, or indeed, another glance at Hob, Dream turns and walks away.

The Bonds That Break Us (Rhysand x Female! Reader) Part 2
Part 1 , Part 3 , Part 4, Part 5 , Part 6, Final Part
Request: "Would you do a Rhysand x fem!reader series? Maybe fem!reader is Rhysand's mate and Tamlin's sister? So secret love?"
AN: omg guys the love part 1 received has been so amazing. I seriously am so happy you're all loving this fic as much as me. As someone who hasn't written in so long it's been so fufilling to write this. Thank you for all the kind words. Please feel free to leave a comment! Hearing your guy's feedback is what motivates me to write!
Summary: It was almost as if the cauldron liked to play games, as if it had sensed years of boredom and predictability and begged to be entertained. Its method of absolving its melancholy? Mate the High Lord of the Night Court to the younger sister of the High Lord of Spring.
Warnings (so far): SA, starting to get a little steamy

The next morning I woke with a certain lightness to my step that I knew shouldn’t be there. My hands skimmed over the countless dresses looking for just the right one. All of the sudden I had started caring more about my appearance for council meetings. Deep down I know why.
I meet my brother and Lucien in the foyer per usual, and I feel Lucien’s fiery gaze rake over the lavender chiffon draped over my body. I told myself that I had selected the revealing dress because of how hot the Day court was, but I think I had other motives backing my choice.
The Day Court, like all other courts, was utterly beautiful. Large pillars stood all around and like the summer court it was entirely open air, allowing the sunlight and breeze to float into the room. I sit between Lucien and Tamlin at a large table with the other High Lord’s and nobility. My eyes scan the room for a hint of that violet that I dreamt about last night but I don’t find it. It isn’t until a few minutes later, when my skin starts buzzing, that the High Lord of Night steps into the room. His presence commending, his eyes immediately finding mine.
I feel him pluck at the bond as if to say hello. After speaking to him through my mind for so long it was almost strange to see him in real life. Somehow he was always much more handsome in person. Like no matter how many times I tried to put together the image of his face at night it never compares to the sheer glory and presence of him.
As Helion began speaking a voice crawled into my head.
I’m glad you find me so glorious, darling.
“Shh you nosey High Lord. I’m trying to listen,” I silence him and to my surprise he obliges.
Helion talks on and on and of course there is arguing between Kallias and Beron as there usually is but I couldn’t begin to tell you what about. I spend the entire meeting noticing every move the High Lord of Night made. When he breathed, or flexed his hands, adjusted his spot on his seat. Whenever I felt his eyes sliding over to me I would do my best to evade them.
See something you like? I look over to him and find his eyes smirking.
“Yeah actually, Eris is looking especially delicious today,” I tease, I don’t break eye contact with him.
He chuckles brushing off my comment. You’re a vision in purple mate, but if Lucien looks at your cleavage one more time I might just leap across the table and rip his only good eye out.
“So violent,” I muse disapprovingly, looking towards where Kallias is speaking about potential war with Hybern.
I save my most brutal acts of violence for those who seek to harm you darling. My eyes flit back at him and a smile tugs at the corners of his lips as he averts his gaze back to Kallias.
“Enough talk of war my friends, let us adjourn this meeting until next week.” Helion finally says, causing the rest of the council to let out a breath.
Tamlin doesn’t say a word before he and Lucien stand and make a beeline to Tarquin, most likely to talk about problems we’ve been having on the border. I take it as my queue to walk around the Day Court’s terrace and I secretly hope that a certain High Lord follows me.
The Day Court and the Summer Court are like twin sisters. Except the Day Court always felt like liquid gold. All around me I could see clouds and honeyed sunlight peeking through the them. The rays warmed my skin as I basked in them, leaning against one of the many large pillars.
“I knew you’d look amazing in this light,” drawled that voice I had secretly wanted to hear.
I glance over to find The High Lord admiring me, the light of the Day Court doing wonders for him as well. “You shouldn’t be here,” I say, trying to act like I mean it.
“Yet you wanted me to follow you,” he smirks knowingly, slowly stepping towards me.
“What makes you say that?”
“This,” he says, pulling on the bond again. I take a sharp breath in and he chuckles. “I’ll never get tired of that reaction.”
“I really hate it when you do that,” I grumble.
“No you don’t,” he muses using one arm to cage me into the pillar I’m leaning against.
“Yes I do,” I affirm. His other hand lifts my chin to meet his stare.
“No you don’t, you don’t hate anything about me. In fact you think I’m beautiful,” he smirks, somehow stepping even closer to me. “And, you want me to touch you right now, your skin is practically on fire for it.”
“My Lord-”
“I told you to call me Rhysand,” he cuts me off. I want to lie and tell him no, I want to push him away but I fear that even the action of me touching his chest, even for a moment, would be too much for me to bear.
“Rhys,” I breathe out. Before I can even think his lips are on mine swallowing the breath that held his name, just like he promised.
The kiss is hot and needy, built up from the last two weeks of torture. One of his hands finds my face while the other finds my waist. His frame presses me into the pillar behind me. I feel my body ignite in a way I didn’t know possible, I need him closer. I pull on the lapels of his jacket earning a low grumble from him.
“Say it again,” he says between kisses.
“Rhysand,” I moan, his name like a prayer on my lips.
“Fuck,” he groans before sliding a hand down under my knee and hoisting it up to wrap around his waist. The slit in my dress parted for him, giving him full access to my bare leg. I feel his lips drag across my neck leaving opened mouth kisses on me. I practically come undone for him, the only thing keeping me upright are his hands and the pillar behind me.
In the distance I can hear footsteps clicking across the floor, in a panic I winnow both of us further away. He breaks apart the kiss and gives me a bewildered look.
“Sorry, someone was coming,” I say breathlessly.
“Let them see,” he grins before stepping closer to me. I take a step back and he halts his movements, surprised.
“We can’t, my brother will kill me, kill you.” I remind him.
He lets out a chuckle like he’s completely unphased, “I promise you that I hold more power in my pinky than Tamilin does in his entire body.” he boasts.
“Still,” I start. “You’re the High Lord of the Night Court, his sworn enemy, my court's sworn enemy. Think of what they would say about me if the truth came out. What they would say about you. You’d be the monster who stole away the princess of spring.” I ramble.
“I’ve been called a monster by those who know nothing but stories of me my whole life, what’s one more?” he states.
“I’ve heard stories of your court, that it’s the part of Prythian where the most feared monsters and beings of our kind reside,” I say fearfully. I start to remember who he is. Not just a pretty face, but the High Lord of the Night Court. He’s dangerous, and he is a monster.
“Part of that is true,” he affirms, and I can see a tinge of hurt in his eyes.
“And the other part?” I ask on bated breath.
“You’ll see soon enough mate,” he says.
“My Lord we cannot be together,” I state firmly.
“Back to formalities now are we?” he sighs. “I’ve waited 500 years to find my mate y/n, don’t think for one second that I’m going to stay away from you just because you’re afraid of that pathetic excuse for a brother.”
“He’s not pathetic, he loves me!” I growl.
“You don’t know half the things you think you do about your brother,” he sneered.
As much as I hated to admit it he was right. Tamlin and I had never truly been close. We hardly ever did anything together. I always sensed a darkness in him that I couldn’t place. There was so much he simply refused to tell me just because I was a woman. But I couldn't bear that truth to Rhys, not when I needed his silence.
“This conversation is over,” I huff before walking away, I feel him grasp my arm.
“No darling it’s not,” Rhys says with frustration in his eyes.
“Wanna bet?” I ask smugly before winnowing back to the Spring Court.
The next few days I don’t hear from Rhysand, and I don’t feel a tug on the bond. All of the sudden my life is filled with a sense of melancholy, I never had before. I had grown so used to his constant tugging on the bond or his remarks throughout my daily life that I felt a little empty without him.
So empty that I now found myself nudging around the food on my plate at dinner. Lucien had been out with the emissary of the Summer Court fixing the problems on the border, which meant it was just me and Tamlin.
We spend the whole meal in silence until he finally breaks it, “I have something I want to discuss with you,” he says, placing his napkin down on the table.
“What is it?” I ask, starting to wonder if maybe he saw me and Rhysand the other day.
“I’ve been talking with Beron Vanserra, and it seems that his eldest son Eris has taken a liking to you. We think it might be in the best interest of our two courts if you two were to marry.” he says casually, as if the words weren’t a huge punch to the gut.
“What?” I breathe in disbelief.
“Come on y/n this has always been our plan, to get you an advantageous marriage.” he reminds me, irritation laced in his voice.
“Not my plan Tamlin, yours.” I seethe. “Eris is a viper, I won’t marry him.”
“You’ll do as you're told and that’s final!” he screams slamming his fists down on the table making the silverware rattle.
I leave my plate full of food on the table and get up. If I wasn’t hungry before I certainly am not now. I leave the dining room and make sure to slam the door on my way out. The halls of the palace were dark save for the moonlight drifting through the windows. My mind was a mess of Tamlin’s words, I was so angry I could hardly think beyond it. At the end of the hall there was a door and even from where I was I could see the doorknob turning. A head of red hair popped through the door and Lucien stumbled to close it.
I kept my head down trying to avoid him but it was no use. The second he passed me his hands were on me shoving me into the nearest wall.
“Hello my flower,” he slurred.
“You’re drunk Lucien,” I pointed out, jerking my head away.
“Yes I suppose I am, the emissary for the summer court knows how to celebrate. We went to a tavern after completing the job on the border to indulge in some women and maybe a few drinks,” he chuckled.
“Yeah a few hundred drinks you fucking idiot,” I gripe trying to get out of his grasp but his hands only pin my wrists tighter.
“It was fun, but being around all those women made me long for my little flower,” he smiled drunkenly before kissing my neck.
For months now he’s been doing this, stealing touches whenever he could, and kissing my neck like this when he was feeling really bold, or in this case, drunk. He never took it further than that though. Never kissing, never fully fucking me, and I think it’s because he knew that it would be where Tamilin drew the line. But tonight he was drunk, in a way I had never seen him before, and I wasn’t sure if the line that had held for so many months would be held now.
“Get the fuck off me Lucien,” I growl trying to push him off again.
He completely ignores me, “You know my dear I’ve let my hands wander every expanse of this magnificent body, but I have yet to taste you,” he says lowly. “I think I’m going to change that.”
I don’t even get a chance to try and fight before his lips are on mine. He tastes like shitty whiskey and he smells like cheap perfume. It’s vile and it has me sick to my stomach. I find my opening to rip my lips off him and take it.
“Lucien what the fuck!” I scream in his face. His eyes just go down to my heaving chest, where my breasts are pushed up high due to my corset.
“And these,” he drawls before placing open mouth kisses on the peaks of my breasts. His hand lets go of my wrist and flies to my waist to pull me closer to him and I take the change of position as an opportunity to knee him between his legs.
His knees hit the ground and I run down the hall towards my room. I slam and lock the door as fast as possible, barricading myself in with a chair. I pace back and forth trying to dispel the pent up adrenaline that’s inside of me but in the end I sink to my knees and start to cry.
What happened?
That calming voice cleaves its way through my mind and it feels like a huge weight off my chest has been lifted.
“It was Lucien he tried to…” I let my voice trail off not even wanting to finish the sentence. I know the High Lord of Night is at the complete other end of Prythian but I swear I feel the ground beneath me tremble.
Did he? He asks, like he would winnow here right now and make due on his promise of ripping out his good eye.
“No, I fought him off,” I assure him.
Are you safe?
“As safe as I can be, I barricaded the door,” I say, as my heart rate calms down.
You shouldn’t have to live in a place where you have to barricade yourself in your room.
“Well I do so I’m handling it the best I can,” I gripe at him. I would gladly change the situation if I could but I can’t. There's a silence and I can feel him ruminating over my words as I crawl into bed.
I’m sorry I shouldn’t have said it like that.
“It’s okay I understood what you meant,” I say pulling the covers up to my chin like they might protect me.
And I’m sorry for what I said about Tamlin. I shouldn’t have gotten angry with you, he’s your brother, of course you’re going to defend him.
“It’s okay, maybe everything you said about Tamlin wasn’t entirely false,” I confess remembering the conversation that had me fleeing the dining room in the first place.
What happened?
A moment passes and I think about telling him. But saying it almost makes it real and I choose not to, “I’d rather not talk about it now. Too much has happened tonight,” I say
Alright we won’t then. I sense disappointment in his voice but I am happy that he respects my wishes.
“Rhys?”I ask, and there’s a hesitation there.
Yes darling? He purrs and I can hear him practically swooning at the fact that I said his name.
“I don’t wanna be alone, will you stay up with me?” I confess feeling like I’m baring my soul.
Of course I will darling, all night if you want me to.

“What about those?” Tim asks, pointing at another page in the magazine before you.
You hum before turning the page. Tim pulls his hand away from your lap before gently removing the magazine from your hands. He raises an open palm to your cheek and gently turns your face to his.
“What’s wrong?”
“I don’t want to answer any questions unless they’re asked under fairy lights,” you murmur.
Tim notices that your eyes aren’t quite to his. The past few months have been hard, but you’ve been able to move on and take your life back from the man who murdered your mother. Thanks in no small part to Tim and his constant presence by your side.
“That proposal spoiled you,” he muses. “I knew I should have asked you in those ratty old pajamas.”
“You said I look beautiful in those pajamas.”
“And you do. You don’t have to talk to me about it if you don’t want to, but don’t hold it all inside.”
“I just- planning a wedding is hard, but I always thought I’d be doing it with her. My mom was in every idea and dream I had of my future. Now she’s gone. Even looking at bridal magazines makes me miss her more.”
Tim leans forward and kisses your forehead. He loves you and has reminded you that life is worth living, and the loss and grief you feel do get better, though it never goes away.
“I have a question for you,” you murmur against his palm.
Tim looks up before he clicks his tongue. “No fairy lights.”
“Will you go dress shopping with me? You don’t have to see the dress or anything, but I want you there.”
“Of course. I’m great at picking wedding dresses; ask Angela.”
“Thank you.”
Tim hasn’t said you’re welcome in weeks, always saying, “I love you” instead. Just as he does now.
“I love you more.”
“Knock, knock,” Wade calls through the curtain separating your bridal suite.
“Come in,” you call.
“Wow,” he compliments as he enters. “You look beautiful.”
“Don’t make me cry this makeup off.”
Wade chuckles before asking to speak privately. Your bridal party, including Angela and Lucy, excuse themselves, and you take Wade’s hand as he leads you to sit on the settee.
“I know what you just said about crying, but I have something for you.” He pulls an envelope from his blazer pocket and taps it against his hand. “Your mom was a planner and a good one. She, uh, wrote you this letter and gave it to me in case anything ever happened to her. Actually, she wrote you a different letter, and replaced it with this one a week or so before everything happened.”
You take the envelope carefully, tearing up at the sight of your mom’s handwriting on the front.
“I’ll leave you to read it, but it’s a big day, and you deserve to know that your mom loved you.”
“Can you stay? Please,” you say as he stands.
Wade nods and returns to his seat. He watches you as you remove the letter and read it. When your eyes reach the bottom of the paper, you look away quickly and wipe under your eyes with the pads of your thumbs.
“Can you find Tim?” you ask with a sniffle. “I need to talk to him.”
“I can. He’s not seeing that pretty dress, though.”
You stand after Wade leaves and pace the bridal suite. It’s less than three minutes later when Tim steps through the curtain. Finding it impossible not to, you laugh at him.
“This was Wade’s idea,” he grumbles.
Tim raises his arms, and you take his hands with another laugh.
“Whose tie is that?” you ask.
“Wesley’s. Can’t you tell from the quality silk?”
Tim uses your joined hands to pull you closer, and he lowers his voice to ask if you’re alright.
“Wade gave me a note from my mom. She talked about you and how happy we were together. Uh, the last line was that our life together would be twice a life.”
“You sound like you’re about to cry,” Tim says. “Please don’t. If you start crying, I have to take the tie off.”
“Just hug me, Tim,” you demand.
Tim happily pulls you into his arms and kisses the top of your head. In parallel to the night after the funeral, Tim holds you close and whispers promises that everything will be okay and you’re never alone. When he adds that he loves you and he can’t wait to be your husband, you choke on a cry.
“Don’t,” you say as his hands move to the tie. “I’m okay. You- you can go now.”
“Oh, great,” Tim groans as he turns away. “Now it’s my turn to cry when you walk down the aisle in the perfect dress.”
The moment you step into Tim’s sight at the end of the aisle, tears build in his eyes. Though it’s Wade at your side, you feel your mom’s presence, too. It’s as if she is right beside you and cheering you on the entire walk down the aisle.
“You’re perfect,” Tim whispers as he takes your hand.
You shake your head, but Tim squeezes your hand to reiterate his point.
“The dress is perfect,” you reply with a smile.
Tim picked it for you to try on and it ended up being your favorite. The surprise on his face when he first saw it was just as amazing as you anticipated. Now, at the altar before all your closest friends and those who have become family, you know that you’re living again, and nothing can take the life you have built with Tim.
“I love you,” Tim mouths as the crowd takes their seats.
“I love you more,” you reply silently.
“Hi,” you greet.
“Watch your step,” Tim chides as his hands move to your hips. “This is harder than it looks.”
“Sorry.”
Tim moves the bouquet into the crook of his elbow before taking your hands. The sun has set, and only ambient light illuminates the trail before you.
“Hi again,” you start over. “We got married, Mom.”
“Thanks to you,” Tim adds.
You don’t sit down, too worried about grass stains on your reception dress. Tim seems to understand why you stop farther back. He steps forward and sets the flowers at the base of the headstone before returning to your side.
“It was your daughter’s idea to give you her bouquet,” Tim says.
“And it was your son-in-law’s idea to do it before we left. Everything that I am and have is thanks to you, Mom. I miss you like crazy, but I know you’re with me everywhere I go.”
“She loved you,” Tim murmurs against your shoulder.
“She loved you, too,” you tell him. “We’re going on our honeymoon. I know you would’ve given me a hard time about the time off, but you’d also be happy for me. I love you, Mom.”
You turn away and smile at Tim. He nods before kissing you and whispering, “I’ll catch up.” When you’re out of earshot, he squats and says, “I will treat her better than you ever thought I would. Thank you for letting me be your son-in-law, Zoe.”
Four months after you return from your honeymoon, you walk into the Mid-Wilshire Station; not for work, but to visit Tim on your day off. Your smile is wide, and even Smitty notices your contagious excitement.
“Tim!” you call when you see him.
“Hi,” he greets as he turns to meet you. “What are you doing here?”
“I have something to show you. Can we go somewhere private?”
“Ooh,” Smitty interjects before pursing his lips.
“I would gladly go somewhere away from him,” Tim agrees.
He leads you into an empty break room before looking you over. Other than your growing smile, you look the same as you did when he left this morning.
“Here,” you say, passing him a small box.
Tim raises his brows before removing the lid. The small plastic stick inside causes him to freeze, and he slowly puts the lid back on and sets it down before cupping your face between his hands.
“We’re pregnant?” he asks softly.
You nod, and your smile falters for a moment before Tim’s smile grows to match yours. He pulls you into a kiss before wrapping his arms around your waist and spinning you around. As you gasp in surprise and excitement, you know that this is the life your mom and Tim talked about.
“What is happening in here?” Angela asks as she opens the door.
You nod at Tim, and he says, “We’re having a baby.”
“You’re pregnant?!” “Who’s pregnant?” Lucy asks from outside. She sees you and squeals before joining your hug with Angela. “Ooh, can I do your gender reveal party?”
“Not without me,” Angela answers.
“You’re not arguing with me, Tim. What’s wrong?”
“I can’t find a single thing wrong with this moment,” Tim admits as he pulls you into another hug.
“You really didn’t know about this?” Tim asks again.
“No! Just shoot it, Tim!” you cheer before placing your headphones on again.
Tim levels the gun in his hands before aiming at the target. A shooting range gender reveal sounded like the perfect idea, and you were happy to let Tim do the honors. As he pulls the trigger, you hold your breath for the millisecond it takes to hit the target.
The packet behind the target erupts and turns the range pink. You cheer before Tim picks you up and yells in excitement. He sets you down and kisses you before running his hands over your bump, where your daughter is healthy and growing.
“We’re having a girl,” he whispers in awe.
“I love you,” you reply.
You’re pulled apart by your friends, but the joy of everyone around you only increases your happiness.
The night after the gender reveal, you find yourself lying beside Tim, with your head on his chest as you watch your most recent ultrasound.
“Look at her little hands,” you coo. “She’s perfect.”
“Hey,” Tim says. You ignore him to point out something else. “We should name her Zoe.”
You sit up quickly, momentarily forgetting that you have a bump to impede your movements. Tim moves to accommodate your new position and smiles at the look on your face.
“What?” you ask.
“We should name her Zoe. Your mom got us here, and honoring and remembering her like that would- I think it’s a good idea.”
“It’s a great idea,” you agree. “Tim, thank you. For everything.”
“Of course.”
“No, you don’t know; you can’t imagine how much you and our relationship… how much you’ve done for me and what it means. I can’t thank you enough or tell you that I love you enough.”
“I love you more,” Tim says.
You smile wetly as tears gather in your eyes. Tim pulls you against his chest and restarts the ultrasound recording. When he whispers again that he loves you, your baby kicks. At this moment, you can’t imagine how different things would be without Tim, or if you had given up and stopped living. You’ll never know because of Tim Bradford.

✨Writing Interview Tag Game✨
Thank you so much @preciouslittlebhaalbae for the tag! I loved reading yours, and this was so fun to do!
When did you start writing?
Well, I feel like I’ve always been writing something since I was able to! I always wrote little stories as a kid, and had notebooks full of ideas and such as a teen. I stopped writing in college and it's taken me over a decade to feel confident enough again to return to it. I had never actually written fanfiction though, despite reading it since I was a preteen until this past december. it's been a great experience so far!
Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?
I love sci-fi! I mostly read fantasy, but I do indulge myself in that as well when my interest is sparked. I do, also, love a good historical romance when I am feeling indulgent 🤭
Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?
There's not really a particular writer or anything I'm emulating, if anything I try to not emulate anyone and simply write with my own voice. I've also never had my writing compared to anyone else before, either!
Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?
I write all over the place, haha 😅. On a perfect day, I get to start writing in the living room on my favorite spot on the sofa with my coffee, but it's rare I get the opportunity. I tend to write a lot instead at the built-in booth in my kitchen or at my desk…but truly I will write wherever I can. I have been known to pull over into a parking lot and jot down something really great into the notes on my phone lol. The one place I don’t usually write is in bed though, as I am a sleepy girl by nature and just being near my bed lulls me into the sleepiessss.
What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?
Hmmm, well I can't say I ever just 'muster up a muse', so to speak. I typically get ideas randomly and I can't ever force them to come. However, I do obviously love to listen to music to help set the mood, I am a chronic daydreamer, and I use pinterest a lot as a tool to help hone my focus. When I start feeling a little lost in my vision, I find it helpful to return to my playlist and the to eden pinterest board to sort of 'reset' my mind, so to speak, and get back into the proper mindset.
Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?
I like repetition, specifically in threes. I also really enjoy working with themes of sex and intimacy and how they intertwine. Trust, as well, has been a recurring one throughout my work. I also love a good musical reference here and there, too!
What is your reason for writing?
Because I have words and stories begging to be set free and can hold them back no longer. Because I want to prove to myself that I am capable of creating something, even if it's just a silly little fanfiction. Because I hope someone out there will enjoy it and maybe it will leave an imprint on them in some form or another!!!
Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?
Any and all comments!!!! I have recently been having a real bout of lack of confidence, so going back over my comments has really helped keep me going and remind myself that there at least a few people who are enjoying my work!
I have a deep love for comments though where people point out specific parts or lines that they loved and I find this to be beyond satisfying. It's so lovely to know specifically what resonated with someone or what part they really, really enjoyed. It's a very validating experience! Few things bring me more joy than getting to read comments. I neeeeed the comment serotonin! (please leave me comments)
How do you want to be thought about by your readers?
I...don't know? Hopefully approachable, willing to chat? That I have somewhat of a nice grasp on what I'm writing about??? That I am at least a decent writer????
What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?
I've received a lot of comments about my ability to set place and my imagery, so I feel confident about that skill. Also not bad at writing smut 😏.
How do you feel about your own writing?
oof. this is...a tough one, haha. I tend to be very unsure about my own writing and am also prone to confidence issues and imposter syndrome, hence part of the reason why I've been writing so much slower the past few months 🥲. I oscillate between thinking I'm writing something good that will be enjoyable or thinking that it's awful lol. honestly I can't let myself think overmuch about it and instead I just try to write, write, write and then press publish when I'm done with it 😅. I can be quite self-critical. I need to chill lol.
When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely for yourself, or a mix of both?
I write for meeee! So far, all the stories I've told have been ones I have wanted to read myself. to eden is completely self-indulgent, as are the oneshots lol.
I could probably do a ted talk about why, exactly, I felt compelled to write to eden when there's a million other amazing Astarion/Tav fics out there and what specific aspects of the Astarion/Tav relationship I have been so eager to explore, so if ya want that LET ME KNOW ✨
Tagging @elinorbard @khywren @ladyduellist @inkymoonbunny @xxnashiraxx and anyone else who wants to join in, I would love to learn about all of you!!!
