Hi! I have never sent an ask before but I had an idea for a au that I thought u might find interesting. So the premise of this is that till won round 7(or maybe it was a tie but for the sake of the premise let’s pretend he won) he’s the winner of alien stage yay!!

So Tills owner wants to give his pet a “prize” and he opts to do something a little mean and buy till a human of his own to keep till company! A human who is an exact clone of Ivan (probably from an age a but younger than when the competition started) So till is forced to live with an exact clone of Ivan with none of the memories Ivan had who INSISTS that he is in love with till. Because as a special detail to keep till occupied they programmed the clone to love till- but not in the way Ivan did in real life.the Ivan clone loves till exactly how Mizi loves! He is all soft and kind and gentle and never has a harsh word to say. And till hates it- but doesn’t have the heart to push Ivan away, not after every Ivan did for him. Even if he knows this Ivan isn’t the REAL Ivan he can’t bear to hurt him anymore than he already has.

I have more thoughts but those are the big ideas!

To Ivan, it seemed as though it were only 7 years ago, back when he was 12; to Till, it was 11 years ago.

"It looks beautiful, Till!" Ivan grinned, and Till tensed, expecting him to take it so he could box it up or frame it. A moment later, he relaxed. This Ivan false a lie who is he he's not Ivan who who who didn't do that.

So basically, in Dilation AU, there is a Bill!! Idk if I want him to be Will/Bill, but yes, he will be a child in this. Scalene and Euclid are the unlucky ones this time around, like in Reverse Falls Will is basically chained by the Pines twins, here our triangle parents are chained to the Stan twins :^) . The premise is that they both were tricked by Dipper years ago , as he made a deal with them , and he basically said he would be able to help them find their son. Unfortunately Dipper had no intention of doing that and they’ve been trapped since.

Anyways, I’m still working out most of the premise and the hashing of the AU, but this was some lore drop that I came up with on the spot that I think pretty much answers your question

MAJOR BABEL SPOILERS AHEAD //

cohortswap is basically an au eren @chromathesia came up with where griffin and robin swap places in the story; robin is now the older golden child gone astray, and griffin is now the younger second failure. and the rest of the cohorts get swapped with them!

we have a lore doc that is like over 14 pages long but we are keeping the full thing under wraps for now because eren is writing a massive fic they don't want to spoil too early lmaooo

some foundational deets:

ramy still dies... so sorry. except in this case he and robin planned to run and leave babel for the hermes society together (the um. romantic eloping is implied but unfortunately i don't think either of them get a real chance to act on it), and they plan for victoire to stay behind to keep leaking information out to them. letty finds out and betrays them the same way; calling the cops and barging in with a gun and. yeah. except this time, because it happens outside their dorm rooms, robin manages to escape, and drags ramy's body across half of oxford to bury him in the garden of the old library. he is deeply deeply fucked up from this

professor lovell doesn't die... so sorry. furious about robin's betrayal, he blames it on robin being corrupted by spending too long in his home country, and rips griffin out of china early. but he realises very quickly that griffin isn't fluent in chinese and can barely hold a candle to robin's talent. he never tells griffin about robin but very much takes it all out on griffin, who grows up feeling compared to a ghost his whole childhood. when he first meets robin it all clicks, and he can't help but resent his older brother for the hell he got put through

to save herself, victoire sucks up to letty, tells her that she almost got hooked by hermes and wants out and to put it behind them after everything, and letty is so desperate to believe it that she pulls all her strings to vouch for her and keep her safe. victoire remains at babel and she keeps working covertly with hermes under letty's nose. my comic was about letty and victoire first seeing griffin in babel, and mistaking him for robin. letty doesnt take it well lmao but also in her bullheaded stubbornness starts to treats griffin as her second chance to prevent robin's "mistakes" from happening again lollll

so that's like the general premise! here's some other fun deets:

robin is... severely depressed but is determined to follow through on hermes' work and not give himself an easy out like ramy implied. griffin is so desperately eager for more of hermes when he finds out, but robin keeps him at an arms' length for ages because he's literally been wanting to die for years and is not prepared or willing to have a little brother to look after now. they end up butting heads more often than not and it's a very strained relationship (as griffin and robin's relationship is in canon)

when griffin fails his silver-working test, it's because robin tries to help offhand by giving him a matchpair he came up with. griffin can't get it to work in the exam, but worst of all, chakravarti recognises it as robin's work. he doesn't report griffin for it since he's also a part of hermes, but he tries to give griffin a second chance to come up with his own, and griffin can't, so he fails. up until that point griffin had been trying to hide from robin how little he knew, so the look on robin's face when griffin next sees him is unbearable, like, the mix of pity and anger that griffin didn't tell him, the disappointment that griffin wasn't the connection to robin's culture he wanted, the guilt that robin let lovell rip someone else out of their home, and now griffin knows exactly what letting down an older brother feels like. but it all happens in the half second before robin squashes it all down and gets down to business because there are more important things to worry about and maybe it's good that can't get caught up in griffin's life like this. to quote eren: "i think the worst part to griffin would be that robin just treats it like a setback. like okay, that's one less tool for you to use, you'll have to make up for that deficiency somewhere, moving on, when he wants robin to react as though it's personal to him that griffin doesn't measure up because it should be, because griffin's not good enough for their father (and robin always rolls his eyes when griffin tries to claim lovell and griffin knows why but lies to himself that he doesn't) so he must not be good enough to this tarnished golden child, the prodigal son that lovell tried to recreate. but no, he's just slightly more ineffectual gear within the revolution now, that's a slight hiccup at best and not an entire childhood snatched away from a boy whose clearest memory of canton is the smell of sesame oil in a wok" 

robin warns griffin about recruiting evie very early on, but doesn't tell him about letty or ramy for a long while because the wound is still fresh. griffin still persists, and robin is forced to whisk griffin out of babel after he kills evie. and he's just a mess whispering "you were right you were right im sorry im so sorry" because robin told him this could happen, but he let love and idealism cloud his judgments with evie, and robin has NEVER seen griffin like this, and any angry berating about griffin's stupid misjudgments die on his lips

griffin/anthony is so so very real. anthony is recruited by victoire separately, so griffin isn't even aware for a while and i think anthony actually held off on telling griffin bc of how close he was with sterling LOL. griffin and sterling had something insane going on at first, with sterling trying to be genuinely sympathetic to griffin's plight as an attempt to distinguish himself from his uncle's legacy, before the years drive them apart and griffin becomes aware that everything sterling conceded to him was merely lipservice. anthony and griffin get really close after they realise the other is already apart of hermes and post-evie as well. eren writes sterling as a critique of armchair radicals who see a sliver of violent liberation in practice and easily revert back into believing that the oppressed are savages. evie is a critique of white woman tears <3 i do believe she cries every time someone called her out for saying anything a little racist

yeah um there is way more and we both have comic/fic wips we're working on for the au but i will end this post here because it got so insanely long christ above. thank you so much for the question though i have soooo many thoughts about cohortswap au it's been absolutely taking over my brain

I am honestly open to nearly all ships due to the fact my aro-ace ass simply doesn't require them to live BUT I do have few that either sparks my interest or i think they work pretty well :3 I also go by the logic they are robots and relationships cannot be really compared to humans. Earth x Eclipse - I don't what it is with Earth cracking the harshest personalities but my god, Eclipse v4 warming up to her to the point of tolerating was a feat and sparks immense joy. Allowing Earth to hug him and hang out? Chat? Feel loved? Absolutely precious. Earth respects his boundaries and at the same time Eclipse appreciates her embracing his persona. It's just such a good premise for a slightly odd but good couple. I love it. Sun x Eclipse (many versions) - Canon divergence with Sun and Eclipse working it out? YES. Solar and his original Sun? My god please yes. Oh, what's his? Lord Eclipse and his Servant Sun? Mhm mhm yes. Excellent. So many potentials. So many ways to roll with the ship. Can be loving or spicy or unhealthy. So many choices. Nexus x Solar - do I even have to explain. I think many feels similar about this one. Nexus as new moon found his Sun, even if that Sun is eclipsed. Solar desperately needed someone to love and appreciate him. I am both friend shipping them and shipping, both works for me beautifully.

Sun x Moon - ho boi a controversial one but hey, what is the multiverse for if not ship anything you want (especially since it was even confirmed in canon that romantic DCAs are as normal and common as brotherly bonds or coworkers or absolutely hating each other). They are AIs inhibiting robotic bodies. They are synthetic beings and their understanding of bonds are different than the ones of a biological critters. They are a bundle of codes that try to understand the convoluted partnerships and roles among each other. Protective Moon and caring Sun may decide their bond is on the romantic spectrum. Cos who knows Sun better than their Moon? What is Moon without their Sun? :) Those would be the ones that stick to my brain. Thank you for making the small sharing time! I think that Eclipse deserves something nice. And maybe Earth could be that something nice, in the right circumstances.

They're literally my first ship (just normal SunChips) in this fandom and ough. Ough. I literally never even considered the idea of shipping the sillies until I found out that this fandom has a fucking ao3 tag. I was still mostly in the UTMV fandom when I started watching TSAMS, and my poor fandom then was burning while I was slowly jumping ship.

I think they're sweet. I don't see them as romantic myself, but I support those who do. They remind me of the relationship my brother had with his best friend.

I think the fandom is slowly getting over their whole general "every sun and moon HAS to be related and platonic" since we have people hardcore shipping Helios (dark sun) and Nexus. Not to mention the AU Sun and Moon in DoctorF's fic, Sunlo and Moonlit. They're cute. I don't see why we can't have TSAMS AUs where the dynamics are different when it's generally acceptable to ship SolarMoon as an AU. Idk maybe I'm biased, I've been shipping Sun and Moon (in general) since like immediately when Security Breach came out. I took one look at them and went "oh yes they are so fucking gay". And jadkl;fsjads it was such a lonely time when I didn't know anyone else who shipped them.

As I've already said before, I see TSAMS as just one DCA au amongst many DCA aus. Do whatever the fuck you want bro.

- okay, so after the meeting where jeans just. mostly stuttering through introductions and questions and erens rolling his eyes, telling you to "ignore him, he's got a stick up his ass" and jean hates that you laugh at that. but then that's that, right? he thinks he won't see you again and vice versa.

- BUT NO. you seem to be everywhere and jean can't get rid of you. your apartment is this dingy small one in a crappy neighborhood which, though it's doesn't have a lot of crime, is near the,,, Crime Areas. so jean just happens to see you in places, but doesn't go out of his way to reintroduce himself because he doesn't want to be creepy

- but one day you're visiting a local bakery and he's also there, ordering a couple dozen donuts because he lost a bet to sasha. and then you spot him. and he's all red in the face and is like "oh I didn't know if you remembered me." "can't really forget a face like that" and then his heart stops beating. but then you point to his order with the same teasing smile and ask "so the stereotypes are true, huh?" and he's like "yeah. i mean, no, but this is for my dumbass friend - she, well, she solved some - some crime - so you know." and then he paused and panics and then adds, "not to say that just because she's a woman that she's dumb, no I didnt- I didn't mean it like that, it was just - we're close. i mean not that close-" and you have to hold in your laughter and tell him it's okay. and then you have to leave because you're in a rush but you do give him your number, "just in case"

- the entire premise (?) of this is that he's pathetic and you're teasy. yeah. anyway he doesn't call you because he doesn't get the time to, and then the next time he sees you, you kind of save his ass by distracting someone so he can sneak out of the place undetected. (i don't really. like know what exact scenario he's escaping from but just. pretend there Is One)

- and then he can't really see you because he's escaping and remembers that he has your number!!!! so he shoots u a text "hey you shouldn't have done that" and ur like "?? wrong number" because you don't know who this is

- next time you "bump" into him is (gasp) you're meeting Connie and Sasha at the precinct and jean doesnt know you know them and he sees you and is like "???wtf are you doing here. did u commit fraud." and ur like "no I'm here to see my friends. oh there they r" and it's Connie and Sasha and they're both p cozy cozy with you and jean narrows his eyes and says "oh ok." and then turns around to go back upstairs but the ur like "yo you didn't thank me for saving your ass" and he's red in the face again and he's like "I didn't need you to help me." because he HATES IT when people play hero (ahem, eren) and the fact that you gave him the wrong number (again, for a detective he rlly can't seem to put two and two tgt and think about the fact that he didn't give you his number) and then you're not that offended by it and ur like "and yet you were panicking. YK for a detective ur not good at hiding" and then he just grumbles under his breath and leaves

- ok. cool. before leaving the precinct (idk the?? laws??? if normal civilians can go into the precinct or not but again, just pretend the inaccuracies don't exist for the Plot) you Sasha and Connie were hanging out on the terrace before they were called in for work again and right before you're going to leave, jean walks into the terrace and he's like "I thought you left. do you like getting in trouble?" "look idk what ur problem is bcs I thought we connected a bit with the donuts thing" "that was before you tried playing hero" "oh so that's what this is about." "...no. yes. both." you hum and think about what ur going to say. "I'm not. playing hero. i have no interest in saving people or wtv. ive just,,, seen what Sasha's been through" (homage to canon she got shot in her leg once) "and idk seeing that was tough, and if there was a chance that you'd avoid that fate on my watch then I'd do it." and there's a big pause and then he says "why would you do that for a stranger?" "because you're not a stranger. Connie and Sasha talk about you. i just didn't know it was you they were talking about until now. or like, an hour ago, I guess." and then you leave without giving him a chance to retort

- and then he finally finally gets the balls to text you (upon Marcos convincing) and clarifies everything in text. "this is jean. I'm sorry for any rude words from my behalf" like very professional text. and then u respond with "OH ITS YOU. dw ABT being a dick I get where ur coming from :)" and then he's like ":/ still feel kinda bad about it though..." and he's baiting you and you know it and you take the bait with a big smile on ur face while typing back, "maybe you should take me out to make up for it" and he can't help it he says "with a gun or on a date" "if the date goes bad then I'll take the gun" and yeah. thats it. thats how you start dating :)

it's not that much of a slowburn I just. like the time where he just. thinks about the pretty witness.

i also have more angst headcanons about this (shocker) so if you'd like to read those as well, lmk! oh and I have unserious headcanons of who the gang is in the b99 setting hehe. again, lmk!

So for the obvious – I favour third person (which I knew), and I’m a bit heavier on female POVs than I anticipated (which I’m pleased with, actually). Also very Jade-heavy, and since I’m already 50% of the Jade/Eli tag on AO3, that doesn’t exactly shock me.

(It’s not immediately obvious for all of them, but every single one of these is Weevil-heavy, which is the most unshocking thing possible. I think I have exactly one VM fic in progress where he’s not central to the entire premise, and even there he’s still majorly present.)

Other than that, the closest thing to a trend that I can pick up is that apparently I like opening sentences that feel either dynamic or relatable? Satisfaction and the post-canon zombie fic both have the more classic hook of raising questions about what’s going on, and most of the JEC fics as well as Carmen’s WCS entry are an attempt to jump you right into the characters’ heads or at least their social reality. Whereas the fusion AUs seem to establish their crossover-fandom immediately (THG with an immediate reference to a well known part of that universe, and COM by heavily echoing Briar’s introductory sentence). I don’t know if I did it on purpose, but I like it, so I’ll have to see how much/if that holds true for the other ones in the series. (The BTVS and Animorphs ones are harder, because they involve discovering something, but the summary of the latter will definitely start with My name is Veronica…, and the 1-800-WHERE-R-U one starts with a direct shout-out.)

She didn't really spend much time on the internet to understand most things other than looking up information for a project she was working on or music.

So she had you explain the concept of what an internet streamer was.

You just showed Herta to explain by having her join you during on of your streams.

This helped her so much to gain the understanding and she was shocked to see how many people around the world watched you play games and such.

Herta made it her priority to be your number one fan as well as to help you with any technical needs.

Broken computer? No problem, Herta is already working on a new one for you.

Broken webcam? Leave it to Herta to fix it and make it so much better than before.

Any technical difficulties during a stream? Herta is already on the case to help solve it.

You sometimes have her on stream and she gets caught up on how the audience seems to love her.

She doesn't understand why they do but it makes her happy she gets to be apart of your community.

Sometimes she explains her inventions and ideas on stream and is shocked about the amount of people who are interested.

Silver Wolf knows what an internet streamer is but didn't think much of it when you told her.

She does ask about what content you focus on and if the community you're involved in is pretty popular or not.

When you ask her to join one of your streams, she's hesitant.

She says she'll join through the chat and not show her face or anything on account of her being a hacker.

Silver Wolf does like how natural the whole streamer thing comes to you and she thinks you look cute.

She also keeps tabs on certain fans that either trash talk you or seem to stalk you.

How? Hacking their profile and seeing what they're like.

Silver Wolf would also be someone who would help with technical difficulties but would go overboard with upgrades.

She'll enhance your webcam to produce a quality no one even knew existed.

She'll also add so many upgrades to your pc set up so you can keep tabs on so many things and play games with zero stutter or lag.

Silver Wolf acts more like a moderator for your streams to make sure you stay safe and that no one hurts you.

This especially shows with haters and rule breakers which chats are immediately not seen and they never get to see you stream ever again.

Without further ado, here's my rec list! I'll sort my recs into four categories: non-ship, Metamy, Metadow and Metonic.

Non-Ship:

The first thing I'll put in this category is actually not a fic, but an official piece of Sonic media. You are now legally obligated to watch the Sonic OVA!! This movie fundamentally changed the way I characterize Metal Sonic forever, and is the basis for at least one fic I'm recommending on this list. 2D animated Sonic is genuinely one of my favorite things on the great green earth, and the OVA has it in spades. If you love the Sonic CD intro, you're gonna love this one. The only drawback is that you have to deal with 90s sexism in some parts, but that's pretty minor.

Now, with that out of the way, let me get on to my actual fic recommendations:

and so I transformed myself with my own hands - by @couch-house. This is THE transfemme Metal Sonic bible right here. But not only that, it features a terrifyingly well-written Eggdad and a great take on Sage. Every scene where Eggman and Metal verbally spar in this one had me on the edge of my seat. The tension and pacing of this one is absolutely fan-fucking-tastic. So don't just read it for trans girl Metal- read it for everything else as well.

Situation: Optimal - by ModOrbot. Metal Sonic battles Sonic and pushes himself to the breaking point- and Eggman gets concerned. Featuring good dad Eggdad and some interesting angst from Metal.

Honorary mention to METACOGNITION - by Chaos Theory (Lizardmind). This one's still ongoing, but I really like this author's narration for Metal so far, and the alternate universe premise they're building is fascinating to watch as it unfolds.

Metamy:

Carbon Cafe - by @metallix-mixin. A post-redemption Metal waxes poetic about the bakery he now runs, and the lovely guest who visits him there. A short and sweet story with a charmingly verbose and romantic narration style for Metal that I haven't found anywhere else. I think about this fic whenever I pass a bakery.

Bird Calls - by Fumiku. Metal stumbles across Amy while she's bird-watching. This one's simply the best Metamy I've ever read. Period. GOD I love this one. Most of the time, I simply tolerate Metamy to get more content with Metal Sonic in it, but this fic makes me believe in love. The emotions that both Metal and Amy go through in this one are just so in-character, and are so, so good.

In fact, you really should just check out everything Sea has ever written for their Second Chance AU that they have starring Shadow and Metal. They write Shadow and Metal in a queer-platonic relationship and their writing is honestly what sold me on the relationship in the first place. Everything they touch with these two characters is solid gold. The narration style they use for Metal is brutally effective. I can't recommend those fics highly enough.

Metonic:

Halves of the Same Coin - by @sunnimint. OVA Universe. This fic is MANDATORY READING once you've seen the OVA. This fic dragged me from the highest fluffy happiness to the most gut-wrenching of angst. This fic destroyed me. This fic remade me. And this fic just got its concluding chapter. It's the perfect time to read it.

Iron Oxide - by TheEnigmaMachine. This is the other mandatory reading for Metonic, this time set roughly in gameverse. This fic is fascinating because it's actually a high-concept science fiction novel neatly disguised as a ship fic. This one's a pleasure to read because Metal actually narrates in and utilizes actual computer and science terms (the tags for "quantum mechanics" and "physics" aren't kidding!) It genuinely blew my mind when I first read it. Don't let the weird premise scare you- roll with the angst, bunker down for the enemies-to-lovers slow burn, and give it a shot.

Beginnings of an End - by @sunnimint. If any of you were crying because you don't want to watch the OVA but still wanted to read Sunnimint's absolutely phenomenal prose, look no further- she's got one in gameverse too. This one, opposite of her other one, features a Metal raised by a good dad Eggman, and all of the baggage that comes with it going into a Metonic relationship. It's a fascinating read. The only problem is that it's unfinished, but what's there is solid gold.

This is an AU of a podcast episode from Criminal; it is a very soft entry into Star Wars if you can find humor and delight in a marshal commander of the grand army of the republic having to contend with people like trash collectors and the nosy backyard neighbor.

The plot is that the Commander (Cody) buys a shitty house to fix up and gets angry about people using a nearby roundabout as a neighborhood dump site, so he puts up a statue and secret Jedi start worshipping around it.

IM GLAD HE SEEMS INTERESTING!! i pretty much just made him (and i havent fully perfected his story yet) but ill just put some things about him here!! i'll probably make a big post later explaining his story, like i did with my other oc elias which you can find here (i dont rlly like the art on that post anymore so dont judge!!!!)

ANYWAYS starting off, he's practically a ghost, or some paranormal entity (haven't really decided yet and a ghost sounds too cliche to me) and he kinda just aimlessly wanders around the forest, not really able to accept that he's actually dead.

i'm not gonna get tooo in depth with the story cause i havent really figured out the full story yet, but the basic premise is that before his death, he was a pretty socially awkward kid, and didn't really fit in much at school, but he still enjoyed it either way!! he had (and mostly still does) a strong love for photography, human nature, wildlife and SCIENCE!! in his science class specifically, he met this guy named cole, and they bonded over their shared liking of science. cole was quite popular, and practically led him on (knowing that mason started developing feelings for him) leading to his eventual death. (will elaborate on that in the post i make later on when i figure stuff out!) after his death, he got revenge on bro!! leading to him wandering around in the forest which he died in and soon finding slenderman, and slenderman taking him in as a 'proxy'!!! (i have a type(?) (kinda) of a slendermansion au) though he still lives in the forest, not really.. remembering much of that specific encounter, causing him to get lost a LOT.

FUN FACTS ABOUT HIM CAUSE!!! needs to be included

favorite animal is foxes!! his favorite flower is sunflowers, and he LOVESSS statues!!! he also really enjoys writing and literature in general! (he has a very big vocabulary!!!)

he has a unilateral incomplete cleft lip, which im not very good at drawing, but its there! also freckles spread across his nose and cheeks, and he also has heterochromia. (green and brown!!) his nose pretty much constantly bleeds, he WOULD be that kid in class that has to go to the bathroom/nurse for a bloody nose daily.

in his post-death form, he has a huge messy hole/gash in the side of his stomach, as well as a similar one on his left calf that expands onto the front of his leg a bit. he's semi-transparent with his form taking on a green-ish tint!

he has a hard time seeing things up close, so he occasionally will wear glasses, although rarely.. another little small detail is that he found a tube of mascara in the woods once and curiously just kinda.. put it on and has been wearing it ever since, even though its so messy due to how he just goes for it and CANT CLEAN OFF HIS FACE!! the fact that he probably smells like burning leaves is another thing i put in my notes app 4 some reason but you get the vision

something i was thinking about and jotted down in my notes app about him is that if he was a type of painting (in his post-death form) he'd be a messy, soft watercolor with sharp and ragged lineart (if that makes sense?) and also with types of art, i feel like he'd be performance art. just a thought i had that i thought was rlly cool!!

Hermione being badass & put into a v cool plot w/ insane amounts of world building, so yeah, def a top 5 most contender <3

#4: The Infinitely Curious Woman by chararii (ao3) || literally ALL of their fics are absolute bangers, and while I forever mourn their decision to stop all Naruto fics thanks to the great harddrive incident of 2022, I have nonetheless the GREATEST respect to their skill & talent to bring SUCH LIFE to their stories. In particular, I chose this particular fic of theirs because the premise of Sakura making her own way by shedding off her morality the more she learned & got influenced by her 2 greatest teachers was absolutely nothing short of DIVINE. It was and IS such an inspiration to read, reread & explore, and I will forever love @chararii for this brilliant piece of a fic

it’s very much in the title!! you can find the premise of the au in the first tag of this post but essentially, an anon asked me “what happens if the nukes didn’t explode?” and i took that and went WILD with it.

in this version of the au, the nukes did explode, but they didn’t actually kill anyone. c!dream and c!punz get injured by the blast and c!tommy literally just.. grabs dream and runs to safety. they’ve only just been given a second chance: they can fix the server together. they can.

the whole premise is diskduo reluctantly working together to fix the rest of the server, which has kind of gone to hell by this point. after the nuke exploded a lot of the server, the egg took this as a major opportunity to take over, and, with c!punz going back to it, the egg spreads throughout a majority of the smp, cutting factions off from each other. diskduo are stuck together as each other’s only allies (until they can reach the syndicate) and uhm. well, they get their post-nuke second chance, but it’s not pretty.

dream still has a fuckton of problems. mentally, mostly!! but after the blast from the nukes, also physically. in addition to his leg being fucked up, he’s trying to tear himself from the self-destructive mindset that had enabled the prison plan to happen. with tommy, he has a real chance to fix things, and to live, but it’s hard, working with tommy of all people and also finding reasons to live again. he has a hell of a lot of unpacking to do regarding himself, his plans, the prison, and it’s not pretty as he does so. he’s not… overly cruel to tommy, most of the time?? but there are definitely moments where a) he lashes out because he feels exposed or vulnerable (tommy sees him, tommy knows who dream is more than dream himself knows, it’s bad, it’s frightening, tommy could use that against him—) and b) he hits tommy with the fucked up logic he’s grown accustomed to after prison. well, i was bad, so i was in prison. you were bad, and i— uhm, i beat you to death. you deserved it. it’s enough to push tommy over the edge sometimes, and dream has to have a whole change in mindset before he ever comes close to healing.

tommy, on the other hand, is freaking out and gatekeeping secrets like nobody’s business. dream hasn’t asked his involvement in the nukes and frankly tommy doesn’t want to admit that a lot of this mess is because of his + tubbo’s plans with the nukes, so he doesn’t!! he keeps that to himself, along with the fact he’d been the one responsible for dream losing his leg, along with the fact he’s in contact with tubbo. dream doesn’t really need to know any of this, he figures, very wildly and panicked, it’s not like it’ll help anything. tubbo isn’t interested in helping them, not in the way they’re going about it, and instead is building another nuke, determined to destroy the egg completely through nuclear power alone.

yeah. uhm tubbo isn’t doing great. when the nuke fell, all the characters scattered into factions that the egg has kept them contained in after it spread. tubbo, jack, niki, and a couple of others ended up in snowchester, stuck in the nuclear bunker and unable to get out. supplies are dwindling because frankly, there’s only so often they can do supply runs with nuclear aftermath AND an egg constantly watching over everything, but tubbo does his best as a leader. in his horrific predicament, it’s easy to become attached to the idea that all he needs to do is build another nuke. sacrifice himself by using the self-destruct button on the nuke at the heart of the egg’s empire. as the months crawl by, tubbo gets closer and closer to building it — and more and more convinced that tommy (notoriously bad at explaining things over letters) has somehow been brainwashed by dream. with no allies left to turn to, and time running out, tubbo races against the other factions (kinoko, nevadas, diskduo, the syndicate, the eggpire) to develop his egg and wipe the server’s problems for good: and sacrifice himself as a pawn in the process.

so yeah anon!! diskduo and tubbo are doing great!! the happy ending of this is that clingyduo reconcile before tubbo finishes the nuke, and tubbo realises there are other ways to save the server. after everything is over too, diskduo don’t speak for a while. a long while. they develop to the point of amicable tolerance of each other — mostly — but that takes time, peace, and most importantly, distance from each other. spending 2-3 years trapped in close proximity with each other was not great for their dynamic.

okay, if it is not obvious, i have thought SO MUCH about disability in exandria, so heres a general worldbuilding headcannon vs character based hc but it's shown that disability isn't overly impactful in exandria. basically everything we've seen ranging from pcs like shakaste to big npcs like dancer and also smaller one off pcs like the moorbounder dealer in the city of beasts, whatever the name is, they're fully functional within society despite major physical disabilities and theres functionally not a whole lot of ableism at a surface level when it comes to worldbuilding (thanks matt).

however..... its not hard (for me) to extrapolate how the dynasty in particular would have a not great view on disability (thank u cherry for putting it into words as i was charlie day-ing over coping skills early on). it's not something that i talk about explicitly in coping skills (and may not since it would be really info dumpy and not vibe with the way i write or characterize the wizards lmao) but it's something ive spent a great deal of time thinking thru for the dang fic and my in-head notes are basically a) in a modern setting like coping skills, the healthcare situation moves at a glacial pace partly because elves live forever so what is a several year wait for a non emergent specialist issue and b) major disabilities, things that impact daily living to a significant degree that cannot be "fixed" with magic, are at best really only tolerated until anamnesis or consecution so the body can be reset into a more perfect form

i could wax poetic about the nitty gritty as it relates to coping skills specifically, but that is like, the base premise of 90% of the fic lmao

W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom.

okay so, heres the thing: with the exception of a few squicks, if something is well written with some fukken *heart* i will eat up just about anything. theres some tropes i don't really get myself and haven't found anything with it that's interested me, like hanahaki, but i have fav fics involving things i notoriously avoid, like kid fic and hs aus. like legitimately, my absolute fav fic is a non explicit hs au, which considering i basically dont read non explicit fics OR hs aus is fucking wild

homestuck :I like part of it was definitely the Fandom Cycle of falling out if interest with something, especially once there stopped being new cannon i could access but a bigger part of it was seeing all my fav artists and writers in the fandoms, particularly the ones 30+, PARTICULARLY Black artist, being absolutely shat on by kids for the crime of... being adults in fandom spaces basically, or otherwise creating fanworks that featured non-white, non-thin depictions of the characters. i live vicariously thru @/roundandtalented when they spam share hs art because i still love those characters but yeesh ye olde tumblr hs fandom got VERY toxic

god i do not know if fandom as a whole has picked up on any of the various things i've built in my fics but tbh i think its absolutely hilarious how i inevitably write a porn/camming au for like every fandom i write multiple fics for. it happens, every single time. EVERY TIME. in fact, mine and cherry's sg camming au started with me lampshading this trend i have, laughing about how FINALLY here was a fandom where i couldn't write camming and make it work, except whoops i thought too hard on it and made it work. this occurred over the course of like..... a single evening. i had the basic outline sketched out within twenty minutes of me being like "theres no way i could write camming into critical role, NO WAY" i am not even exaggerating

Premise: At the break of dawn, Colli awakes feeling that sensation that is very familiar for him, its another one of his kind, he immediately thinks "King!" he phases through the floor and floats to king drawing a hiding spell on the floor.

Eda awakes and sees Colli casting that advanced spell, she sees his worried semblance, showing fear, and Colli was right to feeling that way, Archivists never works alone.

As soon he finishes the hiding spell, he whispers to king, "shhh... don't speak brother, I'll be back", he then goes to Eda "if something goes south, take King to Earth through the portal".

He nods at Hunter and floats outside, Hunter follows Colli by distance.

He floats outside and searches for it, till he finds it, 5 meters tall, robed with stars and planets, cold looking, with the mask on, apparently looking for something.

Colli goes to encounter that Archivist to persuade it to leave.

Colli would never lie. And he is a pacifist through and through.

Drabble: Colli's Courage

"Be careful, Little Star..." Eda whispered, clearly concerned about her son Colli. The small starboy with otherwordly fluffy lavender hair and a heart of gold was about to face some adult members of his species. Hunter followed Colli, to keep him safe.

"The eternal child! I was hoping to meet you. Well, me and the other Archivists. We demand that you give us the young Titan!" The tall figure, who was looming over Colli, spoke dangerously calm. The Archivists didn't take Colli seriously.

Colli was something very rare among his species. An eternal child. Colli's heart was slamming against his ripcage as he was floating in front of the cloaked figure. "I am not going to let you hurt my big brother! King hasn't done anything to you!"

"You don't have the right to hide that Titan! In our culture, eternal children have to serve the adults! I am going to make you my servant!" Hunter had heard enough. The young Grimwalker didn't accept this maggot speaking to his beloved little brother like this!

"Shut up! Colli is no one's servant! Take that back, or I'm going to make you eat your words!" After a moment of silence, the tall figure bursted out laughing. "Good joke, Grimwalker!" "I wasn't joking, you filthy maggot!"

"You weren't? Too bad, boy. Looks like I have to split you into your ingredients." "NO!" As soon as The Archivist was about to use his magic on Hunter, Colli didn't hesitate to protect his beloved big brother. The kindhearted eternal little boy floated in front of Hunter and used his magic to create a barrier around the blonde boy.

"I'm not going to let you hurt Hunter either, you meanie!" Colli teared up. The Archivist came to a realization. "That Grimwalker is your weakness. And you are his. What an interesting turn of events. We're going to leave for now. But we'll be back soon!"

As soon as he had said that, the starman and the other Archivists were gone. Hunter wrapped his arms around Colli and cuddled him close to his chest. "Shhh, shhh. Everything is going to be alright. They're gone, my beautiful little Sunshine." The former Golden Guard whispered softly.

Not that much later, Hunter told King and Eda about Colli's encounter with The Archivists. The Owl Lady and the young Titan gave the immortal celestial boy a tight yet soft hug. "You were so brave, Little Star!" Eda said as she kissed lovingly Colli's freckled cheek.
