Zara has the bigger overt attitude problem between the two of them, but Kestrel (who I've actually renamed Aedra now lol) is probably honestly more unhinged once she hits a breaking point.

Zara is a Marchen -- a veritable, godsworn monster hunter with a big axe, a bad attitude, and a penchant for violence. She's been doing this job her entire life after being dumped as an orphan baby with the Marchengarde, and she just takes all of her problems out on monsters by punching them really hard. She's pretty independent, steadfast, and completely hardened to her world. Until she gets shaken right out of her comfort zone by the start of her novel, she's honestly like. Unhinged but also Totally Blunt and Forthright about it.

Meanwhile, Aedra is a Bone Maiden, the single surviving temple worshipper to the Ten-Faced Oracle. She's been praying at her goddesse's altar for a decade now, hoping the petrified corpse of her deity will one day awaken and help a poor bitch out. She's way more shaken up, insecure, and traumatized by her world (she witnessed Death get physically torn away from the whole realm, and now she's stuck trying to collect his soul shards and put him back together again) and she's not like Zara who was just an angry baby in the crib and grew up stomping. She's like, kid who cowered behind her mother's knees until her mother was ripped away from her and now she's grown up and the whole world is breathing down her neck and shouting, "what are you gonna do about it!?"

and tbh? these two would probably get along great LMAO

Hello my dearest, darlingest pal and friend. I answer this months late during a break between Writing for Work. As all asks should be answered tbh

No surprise. once again I get a bingo with Gary King. He's just...he's so Character. Even Simon Pegg keeps talking about how fun Gary is from a emotional projection creative perspective

I said "canon isn't real if I don't look at it" because I rewatched TWE with a friend a few days ago and I had to cover my eyes during Gary's most Unethical Moments tm (mainly him. Harassing what, as far as he knows, is literally just a Teenage Boy). However "everyone else is wrong about them" because he IS a better person in the epilogue and he HAS grown & changed and everyone who argues otherwise is a negative nancy (I HAVE COMMENTARY TO BACK ME UP !! I HAVE EVIDENCE)

HE. FRODONK. MR BAGGINS. I could never squeak him he must be handled gently (not because he's '''not strong''' but because he deserves Rest)

Against what some fans may say, Frodo is BRAVE and STRONG and a HERO and I literally fucking adore him. He's angelic imo, what with the sacrifice and the resilient kindness and all. Get rid of the "if" for the square on the bottom left because things DO happen to him and I DO cry. But he has a happy ending (WHICH HE FUCKING DESERVES!!!) so I'm okay.

However much I love him, I know that I don't care about him as deeply as I do some other characters, meanwhile people out there have written such fantastic meta and fanwork. So he's "blorbo by proxy" for me. I am very satisfied to let yourself (@spacedadpicard) & other Frodo fans keep him, you tend him well

that being said I care him SO many hearts. All of them, each one. I grew up with him and I've gotten to see him from different angles over the years, so by that alone he's Special to me. And then he's SOOO wonderfully written in the movies and Elijah Wood gave him an UNPARALLELED energy and I'm forever kissing Frodo's precious forehead grateful

I GOT BINGO ON THOMAS BECAUSE I LOVE HIM. After I watched this movie for the first time I texted my friends that the inside of my head was shaped like Thomas Sharpe BECAUSE IT FREAKING WAS!! I was screaming and Breathing so much during the finale of Crimson Peak...if that ain't "a beast unleashed" I don't know what is.

He's. agh. His heart is so sweet and gentle...ok yes he's aided in the murder of multiple people so. he indeed hosts venom within his body. Engaging with this story as fiction; I very much do not condone his actions; you know how watching movies goes.

this man was born and raised in Hell and the movie coveys this so effectively and torturously...he never desired other people's suffering but he keeps on getting dragged into other people's selfishness and malice. It's. Agh. It's so overwhelming to see Thomas embedded in horror yet TRYING to make something GOOD and INNOCENT out of it!! He literally wants to be. HE WANTS TO BE KIND SO FUCKING BAD AA--

Anyway. Gah. His hope & his bitterness & his sorrow & his care are all so immaculate. Character of all time. I ignore canon sometimes so I can imagine him having a happy ending

- he’s honestly really good at drawing but only ever does it when he’s excruciatingly bored 🙄

- got libby a framed photo of nash twerking for her birthday and she actually lost it when she saw it 💀💀😭 (she decorated the frame with heart stickers and bows for the ‘aesthetic’)

- jameson is actually a menace on april fools and one year it got so bad (with all the brothers rooting against each other) that zara stayed at a hotel for the day just so she wouldn’t get pulled into the hellfire at hawthorne house 💀

For the most part I use Google’s image search to find items (though Pinterest and Ebay have similar programs that do the same kind of thing). I usually start with a good photo of the item I’m looking for, in this scenario I’m going to use tomorrow’s item as an example.

In this instance we’re looking for Lottie’s pink sweater (Top Left Image). I then click the camera icon and crop the image down to what I’m looking for (pink sweater).

The search will give me results and I look through them to find a similar item (bottom left image shows examples). In this instance, the sweater is really distinct and so it’s not that difficult to point out. The bottom right image shows that I’ve found it on ebay. From there I’d save the original image of Lottie wearing the sweater and a screen shot of the found item and crop them both to be square photos for my post. I’d copy down the found item name and add that underneath the photos on my post before putting it in my queue!

Sometimes items aren’t as easy to find (usually because I can’t find a good picture) and so I have to resort to typing out descriptions of the item. If I was doing that for Lottie’s sweater I’d probably say “pink houndstooth striped sweater” and hope it comes up in the results.

If it doesn’t I usually add what I call “mall stores” to the end of the search to help find it (so like Zara, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, etc.) I’ve found that at least for the younger cast, items are mostly from stores like that and depending on what the item is, I can usually narrow it down based on the clothes these stores usually carry. What I like so much about the Wildreness wardrobes though is that because they needed multiples, pretty much all the clothes are modern and so I don’t have to look for vintage (which would make this whole thing significantly more time consuming). The older cast is a little harder to find stuff for because as a younger person I’ve usually never heard of the stores their stuff is from or I haven’t shopped there to know what they sell. I know some of the adults also wear vintage clothes and that can also make it harder to find an exact match (though they did use a lot of vintage in the Pilot for the pre-crash scenes apparently).

Some of the hardest items to find are usually flannels and striped shirts (which Yellowjackets has no lack of) due to the colors and patterns being difficult to pick up in the Google searches. Though, because they’re patterned they are usually easier for me to visually identify when I find them. Solid color items are harder because they could literally be from anywhere (this is why I have like no Travis finds). Plus, because I’m looking for items the costume department bought years ago, I’m usually at the whim of people reselling their old clothes online. Over all though, for some reason Adult Taissa’s clothes have been the easiest to find? I think it’s because they’re pretty much all designer and there’s more monetary value in reselling those rather than a forever 21 t-shirt you bought 2-3 years ago.

Besides my own finds I also repost other people’s finds or listings from sites like Spottern and Shopyourtv.com to help add to the content I publish on here. I find those posts to be good filler and helpful for me because it usually makes up for my lack of Adult Yellowjackets items.

In addition, I read/listen to interviews with people like the costume designer because they’re really insightful and usually provide inside information that can help me find items (or give me fun facts).

I know you didn’t want a tutorial but looking back I think I kind of gave you one. I think i covered everything but let me know if you have any other questions! I’d be happy to answer! Either way, I hope you found my process interesting! :)

(Edit to say that Laura Lee is hands down the hardest person to find stuff for because all the clothes are modest and I kind of think the costume department didn’t get them from the stores everyone else got clothes from. Idk though but that’s just my thought.)

I personally think he would accidentally suggest four letter names (because he’s thinking of names like his lol) and then the first two get named with four letters so then he’s like we have to keep the pattern for the other two and ur like Rafe. Seriously.

soooooo in my head i think it would be something like june, lucy, ivey, nora, or eden (which is my fave baby name lol so had to throw it in there). i think he takes a lot of convincing to like the name sage but eventually caves. in my head (and probably in some fic some day) in order it would be june who is the oldest, eden second oldest and sage who is the youngest girl. for boy names i can only think of one which is reed <3 he would be so happy if him and his baby boy had the same initial.

if i didnt follow this four letter trend i think hed like maybe charlotte, reese, noelle, elise, maybe addison (calls her addy… stop)

again for boys i think reed is the top name but maybe something like knox or ryan!

this was the most fun thing ever and i just revealed all of my baby names i love too but <333333 also im desi so in MY canon world the kids would be like zara or maybe zoya, mahiya, nandini, and maybe rohan or veer for a boy :)))))))))))

most that do have an average skill with magic, tho Bon is a bit of a prodigy for his age.. he had an access to powerful high level magic since early childhood which 1) resulted in him blowing himself up with a fireball at age 10 and 2) means he learned impressive powerful spells before groundwork so he's incredibly powerful but. cant do common level stuff

in World 1, Anna is a time walker... she can pass through different time bubbles/areas and affects time around her (morphs it into what she considers her time, does so subconsciously)

hey! ah thank u sm my life's complete if people are asking me for my advice and style <3 in all honesty, i'm not feeling it too much. i like the colour but the knit doesn't look very authentic it has a computer generated feel. it also depends on the price, i would say no if it was expensive. i couldn't find the shop it is from, only stella mccarthy. however that's just my personal preference! the colour is lovely and i can imagine you could style it well. I prefer knits that look almost handmade and are a bit more organic looking. here are some examples that aren't very expensive:

that's just my opinion though of course, your style is your own <3 i would just reccomend going for pieces, especially in terms of knitwear, that have a timeless and classic look and feel which will last you and your wardrobe years.

Omg!! Thank you so much! Don’t apologize! I don’t think I’ve gotten an ask like this before since my blog is mostly focused around my art LOOL.

Anyway idk if I’ll be super helpful, but as of lately, a lot of my clothes are secondhand! I either buy clothes off of Depop, Poshmark, or I thrift it at the goodwill that’s next to my neighborhood. So the specific stuff I mainly look for on the ones I listed are mainly lace/sheer tops, skirts and dresses! There’s no specific brand I look for when it comes to second hand (tho I do tend to gravitate towards Urban Outfitters, Free People, Zara), but if you have an idea of what kinda style you like and type it in, I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for! Thrifting is a hit or miss… But it never hurts to try, might find hidden treasure there!

Tho’ I do recommend thrifting at local stores bc the resellers on depop make me SCREAM seeing how outrageously priced they have shit, like I look at some stuff and I’m like “you must be out of your god damn mind listening a shien top for $40 calling it vintage.” LOL— tho I admittedly use that one the most, it’s just so easy to find stuff on there for me and my ass would send offers to see if they’ll agree to a lower price esp if I can imagine myself wearing it a lot! LOL

As for stores, I do shop at Urban Outfitters when the clothes are on sale, Forever 21, Hot Topic and Uniqlo for my anime tees, sometimes Zumiez, Cider and H&M. As for shoes— tbh a lot of my shoes came from my parents LOL

Mara went thru a few name ideas when I was starting out lol I had a character named Novu that I got from a sci-fi name generator and then I replayed with a cap named Zara so I think if I wanted to name her something I wanna do something kinda cute like Frankie or Charlie even tho I know ppl with those names lol

Elena was one I wasn’t sure about and all my fallout characters have stupid joke names like Glombo and Bergie so can’t do that haha I think another name that could fit her would be Marion just bc it sounds like an old name and she’s from an old time period

34. Mara keeps things that are total junk because she’s like I NEED to develop useful skills I’m the least qualified person on this ship and I’m running it??? So she keeps things bc she’s like yes Parvati will teach me and then she forgets to even ask her. So then it just becomes a pile before she’s like okay this needs to be thrown away now.

Elena used to be the “oh just throw it away” person like Nate used to reuse ziplock bags and she’s like that’s gross lol but now in the wasteland things are scarce so she really learns what’s worth keeping n what’s not from the help of those around her. At first she hears that ppl sell junk and so she picks up EVERYTHING and then only gets like 2 caps each for something so she’s picky now.

40. So I really try with my OCs to make like them normal people bc I feel it’s more fun for me to think of “okay how does a normie feel about these things?” Like yes yes video games r fun n u can be oh so smart n tough n have a silver tongue but it’s more fun to be just a guy. So Mara and Elena both feel humble because they are just not meant for this world, and they have no illusions that they’ll ever Get It.

I wrote a short fic where Mara gets shots for the first time and she’s completely overwhelmed and she knew it was coming eventually but it was still shocking and it humbled her bc it’s like “oh I totally know how to treat a wound” then she’s like SHIT NO I DONT. So I think they’re humbled in a way most people would when they’re like oh I’d totally survive this and it’s like no u won’t lol but I wanna say people do feel they’re both reserved in their abilities and how well they can handle the task at hand.

Elena kills a deathclaw out of pure luck and Preston still needed to help her out of power armor because she shook so bad. So then he’s like well maybe u really did have better luck than us lol and for her it’s a lot of stumbling around n being like I will help u gather berries I will not deal with ur raider problem 🤨
