i got myself so worked up over that poem post because i made the mistake of looking into the notes
#i’m sorry but IM A HATER#one specific reply made me so viscerally angry i felt cartoon steam escape my ears#the huff of anger woke up my cats#’the prose was there all along someone just had to polish up the lines’ i want to strangle you.#like. plato’s allegory of the cave was always very silly to me because like#well obviously people wouldn’t think the shadows are more interesting#the whole world is right behind them like you can see both and clearly one is just more poignant and beautiful and engaging#but then i see self proclaimed poets on this website call the most fucking cookie cutter format better#than the perfectly poignant and precious piece of prose poetry RIGHT IN FUCKING FRONT OF THEM#the ONLY good reply was someone who wrote an original haiku inspired by the post#it was a lovely haiku i particularly loved the phrase ‘painted landlord white’#its a lovely feeling of resignation that contrasts the hopeful nature of the first two lines of the haiku#<- im legally obligated to include one (1) Nice Thing in every hatepost i make now#im instituting this along with my new fav tag#hateposting
