3. what are your favorite subjects to draw? (ocs, your fan faves, etc.)

fan faves, but especially nikolai! his characters design just scratches every single itch. black, white and accent red is my favourite colour scheme to work with, his hair is easy to do, but thanks to the braid it doesn’t feel boring and his costume is the most fun to modify and translate into different outfits.

also somehow he’s the ideal model for my own fashion style? one thing about me is that i will put nikolai into every single lolita shirt i own (or want to own, because i don’t actually own that many. shit’s expensive and also never fucking fits correctly)

the only thing i don’t like about his design are his anime-canon eye colours. that fucking turquoise is the bane of my existence.

16. what was something you used to struggle to draw with confidence/ease, but have now mastered?

as most artists do, i had a really fucking hard time with hands, but they were also one of the few things i never wanted to compromise on… if some other body part didn’t want to cooperate i would often just give up and cover it up somehow, but well drawn hands always stand out to me in other people’s art, so that was something i desperately wanted to get good at.

it paid off i think? unless i’m drawing them from a weird perspective i don’t struggle with them at all anymore and i’ve been pretty consistently happy with how i draw them for years now…
