Thorne closed their eyes and followed the path that they had rehearsed, counting their footsteps as they tread slowly to avoid catching the cape they were not yet accustomed to. The sound of voices guided their path as they stepped slowly into the ball room, the soft hum of contentment from their archbishop and murmurs from those nearby telling Thorne all they needed to know, that their point had come across without fail. The King and his Slayer, adorned in blood red beads with his crown and robe, made their entrance.

Spring Meeting

Sparrow and Zinnia's words comforted Thalia. She had felt a nice connection to the autumn fairy, and she wanted to keep her as a friend, even if it meant that she'd have to be the one traveling through the seasons. Thalia turned to Rowan, smiling widely at his suggestion. "Thank you, Rowan. You always know what to say." She rubbed her own hands, unable to hide her excitement. "I really want to see everything before the season meeting is over. Lead the way, Rowan!"

Rowan laughed lightly. "It might not be possible to see everything!" he said with a smile. "Some of it does require flying!"

Some of the stalls rested in the branches of trees. While these trees were not as large or sprawling as the ones that held houses or other rooms in the spring realm, they were large enough to hold a few stalls each. But perhaps the most surprising thing was the variety of the trees: there were strong smelling evergreens and pine trees from winter; trees with branches full of blossoming flowers from spring; trees with strong green leaves from Summer; and trees with red, orange, and yellow leaves from fall.

"Yeah," Sparrow said, walking comfortably even with Obi wrapped around his shoulders like an odd scarf. "I could probably carry little bud here, but uh... well," he nodded towards Thalia, who was the tallest person around. The only reason it wasn't more noticeable was because of all the fairies who were flying. However both Thalia and Obi were drawing a few stares.

"Why don't we wander towards my stall near the summer gate?" Sparrow suggested. "I have to do some trading with Rowan too! Something tells me you might like my art. I carve and paint drift wood." He smiled towards Obi. "Sometimes I make toys too!"

Dolly Intro: Barbies

Here's a quick overview of the Barbies in my collection. Other franchises to come! Be sure to check the "collection" tab in the sidebar; as the blog gets more populated, every doll there will be clickable. Whiskey, a Barbie Looks #10. I absolutely adore how poseable she is. She's named for a character from the scifi show Dollhouse.

Rowan, the only boy doll in my whole collection! I bought him to customize, and then I decided I liked his freckles and face sculpt and red hair too much to mess around with him. It's a little tricky to restyle him, since he's a radically different shape and size from my other fashion dolls. But I have a few pieces he can wear! such as this barbie vest.

Claire is a hybrid, whose face was painted by my bff. She really deserves some better pictures I'm realizing in making this post.

Feld is a hybrid curvy, named for the family who owned the Ringling Bro's circus (her hair reminds me of cotton candy). She's another one that's hard for me to restyle with my current clothing collection -- I really want to get some pieces just for her!

Thalia, another hybrid whose name was suggested by my dolly friend B. Her pws birthmarks were done by my bff.

Rowan cocked his head. “We try to live with all the creatures around. But there are some animals that we stay away from. There are bears and wolves. However, I don’t know if you’ve noticed but around all the main places is a special plant that usually deters bigger predators. There are a bunch growing around the flower field. There are a few fairies dedicated just to that plant to make sure everyone stays safe. A predator that crosses those plants are usually ill. In which case we have a few other fairies who try to attend to the bigger animals without… er, having those animals associate us with food or too many positive things. Does that make sense?” 

“It does, but… gosh. That sounds really dangerous.” Thalia lowered her head, deep in thought. “Both Jason and myself have laser weapons within our arms. His are specially strong. If you guys ever run into animals that cannot be stopped by regular means… you can count on us to end those dangers.” She bit her bottom lip. 

“Although our weapons might be… a little too strong for them. A single shot could kill them. These weapons are definitely not a toy to swing around.”

Rowan cocked his head. “What’s a laser?” he asked.

He paled a little. “Kill? Oh… no, we… we really try our best not to kill anything, even bugs! We trade for meat from other seasons and all that. We have ways of avoiding things.”

“Huh. That’s… new.” Thalia looked down, a little embarrassed. She had grown used to see death in the human realm, so much, that it didn’t even cross her mind that such topic could be a potential taboo here. “Forget what I said… what was I even thinking…”

Spring Meeting

Obi giggled, before he slithered straight to Sparrow. "I like him, ma! He's warm and cozy!" Thalia tried not to look at Sparrow much. The guy was way too handsome, and the way he had showed off earlier still made her blush. It wouldn't be fair to look at him when Rowan had been so kind to bring her here. Plus Rowan was very attractive, too... Although she hadn't had a chance to see that much of him just yet... Her cheeks reddened, and she shook her head, trying to get some focus. "I'll take these four jars. They won't fall off, right? I don't want to lose the paint on my way out..."

Sparrow started slightly as Obi wrapped himself around his leg. But he smiled gently. "Yeah dude! Always good and warm over in Summer!"

Zinnia nodded. "I get my woven bags from a friend. Their nice and tightly woven," she said, handing them to Thalia.

"When we're done here, would you like to look around some more? I brought some other stuff for trading. But somethings might not be so easy to trade for. It depends on what it is."
