When I started shipping them:

Back when I first read the manga, when I reached chapters 111 to 113. Man, I was hooked. Their young selves did something irreversible to me lmao, and then Uta hit me with the old tattoo meaning and I was Gone.

It was in 2014, iirc. I started TG when it was over but before :re was published (by the time i was finished, :re was 7 chapters in, very precisely xD i remember bc it's the chapter Nishiki calls Haise Kaneki)

My thoughts:

I've talked about this extensively in the past but yeah their friendship is insanely important to me. The way they go on about "you're my friend" it makes me bonkers. They are the definition of what relationships should be, in my book. Friendship first and foremost and above all, for better or worse. They are The QPP™. Absolutely legendary. First ship to make me so gone. I often say Percabeth was my first OTP but nothing consumed me quite like Utaren did before they did. They're my OTQP? I guess? xD

What makes me happy about them:

Yeah, their friendship. How ride or die they are about each other. Able to rip each other to shreds but will also risk their lives to save the other. How accepting Renji is of Uta's clownship (before it threatens Touka lmao). The unconditional love. The brutality of it.

What makes me sad about them:

"Nec possum tecum uiuere nec sine te". doesn't make me sad per se but ouch anyway. The abandonment Uta felt when Renji left. The intricate knowledge Uta has that he can't be by his side but they can't be apart either - to the point of getting it tattooed. On his fucking neck.

Things done in fanfic that annoys me:

Making it sexual. I don't read much TG fanfics these days (or at least not new ones. i reread my favs instead) so idk what's the trend regarding them but back then I never liked them smut. Feels unnatural.

Also once I read a fic in which one said "ily" to the other (they were in a relationship already) and the other got up and left and they broke up??? What's up with that. I genuinely don't get why saying ily to your boyfriend would make him leave?? isn't that why you're dating?? Anyway.

Things I look for in fanfic:

4th ward era. "graphic depiction of violence" is always welcome.

Depends on unpopular where. If it's in the entire western sk8 fandom, the unpopular opinion would be ADAM is absolutely amazing both character-wise and person-wise. He's the best and he deserves so much love.

If we're talking ADAM fandom, it would be that He Is Not A Slut. He is the very opposite of that.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

I wish Cherry would apologize to him. I wish he'd managed to kill Reki. I wish we would know more of his past, especially regarding Kiriko. That's three things. Who cares.

Favorite friendship for this character:

With Tadashi, as kids. With Joe and Cherry, as teens. With Langa (and with Kiriko in my dreams), as adults.
