Do you have any thoughts on Sirius x Barty?

oh god the chaos !!! the polar opposites !!! the "i despise my family so i'll become everything they hate" but that being good versus bad. the academic rivalry of two students who both don't really have to try to be smart, sirius "i have an incredible prank" black and barty "okay yes but what if we added this to it" crouch jr. them starting as revenge on regulus - sirius taking his best friend too, barty making regulus jealous - yet falling for each other?? the angsttt of "i left that home, don't make me go back there" and barty unbuttoning a sleeve. the ANGSTTTT of running to the hospital to see your old quidditch captain incoherent and irrevocably changed only to find it that barty did it? the sick, sick, SICKKKK relief that sirius would feel in tgof finding out that barty made it out too, that they're okay - but oh god, he's the same as he always was and UGH

i have never actually thought about them until this moment.

Trigger warning for the fear and why does he do that books though!

i think tgof might have trigger warnings, BUT the best i can do is explain that the gift of fear is about how to identify danger with real life examples (there is blunt discussion of assault cases and it is genuinely terrifying.) why does he do that? is about how to identify abuse in your intimate relationships (specifically with men, but the knowledge is helpful in general.)

i encourage everyone to read them but they can absolutely be hard to get through, especially tgof.

Can I ask about Post World Cup for the ask game?

Of course! It's set right after the Quidditch World Cup in TGoF— a little drabble of Harry being part of the Weasley family and messing around with the twins and Ginny like cats fighting over a ball of yarn, being a little attracted to Bill, and squabbling with Hermione about whether he is the fourth Robin (both Damian and Harry have brown skin, green eyes, black hair that sticks up in spikes and a sarcastic streak a mile wide and I just... love that comparison lmao) and Hermione telling Harry that his hair is an atrocity. All in all, a fun little blurb.

- it's the night before the second challenge in the triwizard tournament

- cedric knows that it's going to be in the great lake so he sneaks out of the dorm and goes to the lake

- he sits on the edge of the boat deck, legs swinging over the water

- he stares into his own reflection, lost in his own head

- his thoughts begin to spiral, he hates deep water, he's terrified

- then, something catches his eye, in the water, at first he thinks it's just his mind playing tricks on it's self

- but as he stares deeped into the oil-like water he sees it again

- he launches himself back, his heart throbbing in his chest

- slowly he braves his own reflection once again, fingers clenching over the edge of the ancient decking, he leans over to lock eyes with the misanthropic water

- his heart stopped as the eyes he saw were not his own

- there infront of him he saw her, half hee body was consumed by the water, only her head and shoulders emerged out of the water

- she had thick black hair that stuck to her ivory skin, a chilling yet beautiful juxtaposition

- her eyes held the whole lake in their stunning ebony orbs

- bright, cat-like, focused yet in a whole other world

- cedric froze his whole body encapsulated by her

- despite never seeing a siren before, he new she was something else

- in his blinding panic he could only manage a sentence

- "what are you?"

The irony that this was sais by Sirius. Don't get me wrong, I like him, but this is so hypocritical. Especially because he said this in relation how Barty Crouch was treating Winky, when he sacked her. And then he treated Kreacher badly. I can understand why he treated him that way, and obviously he is not perfect as no one is in Harry Potter, but it is still hypocritical.
