Is TGIQ ever going to be translated in italian? It's so weird because TGIB was and its sequel it's not. I speak english very fluently so this isn't an issue and i've already read and re-read the book multiple times, however i like to re-read books in different languages so i can see how different they turn out to be compared to the original

The Italian Publisher has to want to publish it and so far, I have not received an offer from Italy. I've had it repeatedly expressed to me, even by the overseas publishers buying THE GIRL IN QUESTION that the fact that the books were not released within a year of each other, basically, was a problem for them.

It's not something that thrills me because the main reason there was more than a year between the books was because I was incredibly ill and needed to have major surgery and I went back to work the same week I had said surgery in order to get TGIQ out when it did come out, which is not something I recommend doing when you have basically three surgeries in one.

But unfortunately, it's a repeated line I've received and I can't make anyone buy the books if they don't want to and there's not a very big market for a second book in a series for any publisher but the publisher who put out the first book.

The fact that I have a different publisher for book 2 in the US is unusual and is mainly because my long-time YA editor is a good egg and she works for the US "sister" to my UK Publisher (Little Brown is Hachette US while Hachette UK is my UK publisher). So basically THE GIRL IN QUESTION was acquired kind of like a reverse sub-right in the US, with the UK acting as the lead publisher.

Not really a HC but just in general, Ive always though Victoria was a fascinating character and thankfully we get to see more of her in TGIQ 👀

Another thing (and this is fs projecting my own interests onto the characters) but I feel like Iris would be obsessed w Criminal Minds

Like she'd watch all of the seasons multiple times and I think her favorite would be Emily Prentiss. Nora would be more wary but eventually like it---but more so like seeing Iris rant about the show

Though I think Wes would find it too violent and not like it as much

One of Iris's love languages is info dumping, basically word for word Wikipedia articles on forest fires and the like

Lee makes the kids do a board game night where Iris spends the whole night reading the instructions and arguing with Lee, and Wes and Nora eat all the snacks

Iris is CONSTANTLY finding dumpster cats and Lee, Wes, and Nora are CONSTANTLY talking her out of keeping them

Nora is absolute terrible, terrible at Clue, like the worst
