her outfit is meant primarily scream "summer vacaaaaaay!!" vibes in the overall fit and colors, with a touch of silvery-blue-gold flowers (ie Irminsul/Imaginary Tree) and stars (which is seen in the semi-speckled nature of the otherwise floral patterns + in the glitter of the sheer fabric) - she also has a bit of her original Harbinger/Teyvat origins via her mask and Delusion still being very visibly carried on her person.

for her hypothetical splash art: -She's meant to be sitting on a sandy beach; -Her tree connections are metaphorically and fantastically visualized into a halo that spirals upwards, though some of its blooms and leaves fall from it and disappear into the sand and waves; -The sand would have half-buried seashells and marbles depicting entire solar systems and galaxies, representing lost/dead/distant worlds thanks for the inspiration vita; -The ocean itself would be very dark and somewhat starry; this is meant to represent space but also the sea of quanta; -TBH i started doodling this just bc i thought "i want a tonitoni with a halo" and somehow it turned into me trying to figure out how to paint water at 12am

for her hypothetical fighty time: -Honestly i dont see tonitoni as a playable unit at all so this was really just me doodling for the hell of it; -Still i thought itd be funny to imagine tonitoni needing to fight but she would be super grumbly about it bc this is her vacay!!!!!!!! why is she exerting effort like this!!!!!!!!!!!!; -But anyway if she ever got into a fight, she'd just pull out her signature weapon (that i still havent finalized the design of....... god designing is hard) from hammer space and go to town i guess -Also if you haven't realised yet, that portrait and hp and everything is a complete joke. 69 energy? really? 4444 hp? lmaooooo -Though whether her ult. would actually be anything Fatui-related to use the Fatui symbol................... well that's a fun thonk so i threw it in but otherwise who knows lmao

i'm disconnected enough from mainstream fandom that i actually have no idea which characters are unpopular to them... i think amelia is pretty widely hated but i like her well enough especially as an arc for sam. i liked michael in s15 (and not a second before). him and adam's relationship was really fascinating they shouldve done more with it.

as for within my mutuals/samblr.... i honestly have no idea. i love the leviathans in s7 because i just think theyre fun but does that count as an unpopular character? sadly i am a hater to my core and there are far more popular characters i dislike a little....

LATE SEASONS LUCIFER. everyone hates his ass and i will admit by s13 i was going Can somebody just rip up mark pellegrino's contract already (doubled in s14). but i actually really stand by him. smarter people than me have written better meta about this but there's just something so insidious about the way he acts in late seasons knowing hes inflicted irreperable torment and damage on sam.

Some facts/things I like/tidbits about this:

Montaldea is a portmanteau of the spanish "Montaña" (mountain) and "aldea" (village- apparently a more archeic term? idk). So literally "mountain village"

The "wenyi" is the radiation. All throughout pastex but expecially the mountain because of it's isolation, knowledge and technology has largely regressed. They don't really know what "radiation" is, they just know that if you go into it you get super sick. It comes from the Chinese "瘟疫/wēnyì" (plague- google translate. If there's a better term lmk ^.^)

in the line "and when they hit him a little too hard you glare at them and remember to throw snow under their floors so the fire goes out", I actually fucked up but whatever. It's in reference to how a lot of tribes- I remember hearing this specifically in Minnesota but i'm sure it was also used in other places- would take stones heated from the fire and bury them under the floor to keep warm at night and in winter. Obviously in Pastex it's constantly winter AND theyre on a mountain so. doing this would genuinely send someone to the brink of death in the right conditions.

The third paragraph when Ishawuu first appears, she's described bearing the effects of the radiation. Blistering red skin and all. Her dogs, and later the other Koro employees, however, bear no such description. All of them have been fitted with radiation resistance bugs so they're not affected, but Ishawuu could never get one because her cellres bug, so she just has to. deal with it. tfw you climb up a radioactive mountain and u dont even get overtime pay

The feast scene is really important imo, because Day REALLY enjoys the food. At this point in the story, he doesn't actually hate the people from Koro. He doesn't trust them, but it's more of a "stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours" kinda thing. So he has no issue eating their food.

Also, for those that don't know yet, Day is anorexic in the modern story of pastex. Specifically, he has a mega hard time eating meat. This stems from him eating his brother, even if he doesn't remember. So him eating directly before he found out about the purchase is really interesting imo.

The first person that Ishawuu brought with her was a historian/linguist, which is why they could communicate a little better than Ishawuu could. The difference between the Montaldea language and the Pastex Creole is kinda like English and Spanish. You can't understand the other by only knowing one, but they're pretty closely related. Honestly, they might be even more similar than that.

Ishawuu and Day having met eachother is making me so.

Friendship summary: Local area man meets a clown and immediately gets the clown's name wrong (and calls him Moose for short). Said clown decides this is hilarious and sticks around to see what other dumb things happen. here's a readmore

Mephi's plan failed within ten minutes. Oops! Shared interests! (golden bear, dozing bombs. machinery. also, safety but that came later) That, and while Mephi intended to just lie to Kintaro constantly about mundane goofy things, this also failed. Mephi has the majority of the brain cells between them (usually), which is funny because you'd think the clown would be the idiot.

Taro's the doof supreme (affectionate) brawn, Moose is the nerd (affectionate) brain. Together they make an actual team bc Mephi's good at strategic planning/traps (witchcraft/bombs) and Kintoki hits like a truck and has an easy escape option (golden bear).

I'll make it a decent format instead of name: dialogue bc that's a slog. Kintaro was initially based on just info from the JP server and tl'd dialogue so he's a lil dumber than canon sorry about that. mephi is never wrong bc im never wrong (<- was violently wrong about a bit of faust lore thats critically important to mephistos character. oopsy. tfw u suggest mephi lying about killing faust and then reread the interlude after introducing ghost faust DERAILED, MOVING ON)

Pointing at this was Mephisto, who had returned to be unnecessarily difficult.

"You trapeze artist!" Kintaro shot back well over a minute later, "That's what that get-up is supposed to be, ain't it?!"

Mephi grins and holds up two fingers. "Nope! Two tries!"

Kintaro "Ehhh"d for a moment, before announcing that he needed a hint. Lancer Elizabeth was standing nearby, rolling her eyes in disbelief. Even she wasn't this stupid! She had no right to judge, though, having attempted to sing on the roof to the new neighbors.

Mephisto gave Kintaro a big grin before tapping one of the horns on his hat as his hint. This man could probably guess a demon, or an oni, or--

"Oh, a deer!" Kintaro guessed confidently, and completely incorrectly.

Mephisto put a finger down. One guess remaining!

"Wait, wait, wait! Wait! I know! I know!"

Mephisto sat back in the air and waited for Kintaro to excitedly make his hypothesis known.

"You're a moose!" Kintaro announced, throwing his hands up, "I love meeses!" ---- (Mephisto broke out laughing before correcting Kintaro with more info than anyone else got. The trust was Instant. kintaro also wants to get piledriven by a moose, takes 10 dmg from mephi giving it an actual shot in the backyard, and then proceeds to get evaded by mephi like 4 times. eventually a bomb blew up, ash-facing both of them. scene ends with this. skipped him giving mephi a helmet and mephi accepting it. we also joked that this was a ship but its a friendship. mephis master does nothing to stop any of this, and neither does taro's.) i dont have as solid like. character names and such hcs for flight spririts since I havent written stuff for them, however ive still got some! these r just. whatever the hell came to mind as i wrote

long rambles below

Everyone has been friends for a while now, maybe even from childhood

Tho for light whisperer who was baby baby was a bit too young to remember it really

They’re 19, while everyone else is mid to late 20s

Still, Light whisperer was dragged around by Navigator when small bc theyre siblings !

Tinkering and Flight Guide are in a QPR, Both ID as sapphic, FG is also Grayro >:]

Tinkering likes to stay at their island and the main island, if delivering chimes somewhere else, usually someone else does that. They used to be a bit self conscious of their work but as grown to be extremely proud of it. They crafted the kalimba themself, and also composed both seasonal music sheets, theyve just got an excellent sense of tune.

Builder built Gloat’s boat, and Tinkering composed the music sheet, being commissioned by Gloat when they were younger. Builder has the draft of Chimesmiths work on hand. I wanted to tie the similar sheets together in a way u know :]

Flight guide actually created most of the crews outfits, including their own

Not spirits but I wanted to put these here, the individual windpaths hcs:

Underground Cavern: More used for creature migration, viable for trade but more hassle than it’s worth

Hermit Valley: Was used to send supplies to Dreams Village and Valley, hence why the boats go all the way up to the top, insteas of just for skiing/sliding, sucked for hermit ASHDHHDH

Prophecy Cave: The prophets actually traveled a great deal to spread their wisdom and teaching, so they had a small route, small groups of birds use it also

Sanctuary Islands: Creature migration mainly, the Sanctuary and Windpaths have a close connection in caring for the welfare of light creatures

Starlight Desert: Was originally a trade route! As well the path to Eden was used for creature migration. It used to be similar to how Isle was in the switch trailer, farmers market on the outside of Golden Wasteland basically, but since the destruction of shit and the wall breaking, letting vaults bullshit leak out, its what it is now

Forgotten Ark: Was not a trade route, rather when the storm was at it’s peak and the end was near, they still actually tried to reach out and find the ark, because it had not arrived at all, and word of a big important ship like that going missing is huge. So they searched, it was a rescue mission, but by the time they found the ark it was too late :(

Speaking of connections, Flight guide has a lot of them. They knew Enchantment Questgiver beforehand (also one of the reasons they searched waaauh), and now since the paths are reopened they like to have tea together, Enchantment feels guilt abt their wasted efforts and quest four, but flight guide just “shsshshhshhhhhhhh noooo” They’re also close with Sanctuary guide! Especially with shared missions and ideals. Quest 5 was actually Sanc guide seeing if they could try to help, sending in the big boy Manta… The three of them have tea actually bc enchant and sanc r very close in my hc also.

Light Whisperer trained under Sanctuary Guide and is friends with bird whisperer, doublefive and spin dancer!

Slumbering Shipwright and Talented Builder are cousins

Tinkering Chimesmith and Laughing Lightcatcher are also great friends, lots of prairie connections,

Flight guide was Ayins apprentice too yes, that’s how the windpath islands are floating, they knew Ayin well. And they knew Resh too.

They used to be close, but stopped seeing eye to eye.
