CHARACTER PROFILE – NINIRA NIRA – MUSIC EDITION  ♪

Further rambles about the specifics of the songs etc under the cut for any interested

Peace & Quiet, Human, Creature, Pompeii & My Friends are all big WoL vibe songs. I mean I’ve already made gifsets inspired by Peace & Quiet and Human. Human also walks the line of a ship song, but more due to the parallels of experiences and the application of the lyrics in that regard (see the gifset for further understanding of my logic). Creature, easily relatable as we’re Crystal Mom’s lil minion off to save the world by her guidance. Overly religious songs are so easy to apply to a character like the WoL lmao. I once scribbled thumbnails for a picture idea for Pompeii which I think ultimately lead me to making this gifset (I forget which came first). The constant endless fights all blurring together regardless of how climatic they may seem. In my sketch I also included a final panel that was the Calamity for the “you’ve been here before”...  My Friends I think speaks for it’s self, it’s also another song that resulted in my planning out some overly ambitious art ideas around the time of 4.5 when our friends were dropping like flies. I still like the concept, maybe some day.

King and Lionheart, Heaven & Shelter are my little tributes to Haurchefaunt ;___; King and Lionheart speaks for its self really. I started making a gifset for it ageess ago I think I was having trouble with sizing it all within the gif limit so I gave up lol. Heaven, is one I interpret as like a power ballad for stomping Thordan. Thordan & his Knights took her best friend away. Was it doomed to always be that way? Shelter is for processing grief for and for applying all Haurchefuant taught / believed in to the people she cares about in her life.

Trade Mistakes, Under the Tide & Run. [Rips off Shirt] EstiNi!!! Slaps the top of these three songs, these babies can hold so much angst. Angst with underlying tones of not angst? Anyway I’m sure their common theme can all be boiled down to Estinien keeps leaving and it’s breaking my heart. Please, let yourself be loved. Under the Tide makes me go feral, you can pry anything that lets me indulge in “Estinien’s been shadowing the WoL” from my cold dead hands.

Little Dark Age just gives me BLM vibes. But also if you want to dig deeper the lyrics breath of exhaustion which Nini ultimately is.

Destruction is fighting music. I listened to this song a lot around 4.4-4.5. I was so ready for things to just go so so wrong and for Nini to just lose her mind. Give me strong people that just go ballistic when given reason and destroy everything before coming out of it and realizing what they’ve done :)c

Key is just a good vibe song, gives me imagery of flight which Nini finds exhilarating. I always like to picture her just flying around on one of her mounts when I listen to it. The way the beat slows into a heart beat too, like this thing makes her feel alive and happy ;u;

Goodbye to a World is a Bad End song. Self sacrifice for the preservation of everything for those she loves? Don’t think she won’t do it -jazz hands-

Welcome Home is in contrast a Good End song. Let her have a home. Let her rest. Let her retire from being the hero and just relax in the world she saved surrounded by those she loves.
