Although small in statue and fairly unassuming to those who don’t know their history, the ghost of the Canthan hero who defeated Shiro Tagachi still walks among the descendants of those she helped save in life, and even in death she remains a steadfast ally and protector of Cantha and its people to this day.

While usually found in or around Shing Jea Monastery where she was watching over and instructing generations of students in the ancient arts of the Ritualist, it seems her attention has shifted towards Echovald forest in recent years following the rise in Speakers activity in that area. 

There she has been seen sabotaging Speakers operations, freeing her fellow spirits from the abuse of the Speakers’ ritualists (something that seems to be a particularly sore spot to her, and one of the reasons why she’s targeting the Speakers in particular if the rumors are to be believed), and just generally being a thorn in Tetra Earthcall’s side who has yet to manage to bind the Canthan hero’s powerful spirit despite previous attempts.

xe were found by wardens, with xir pod washed up on a riverbank deep in echovald. the wardens took them in - recognizing xem, while alien, as part of the forest - cared for and taught him to survive. it just so happens that among those was tetra earthcall, who saw potential in him and, due to the lack of horns, the ability to pass as human with only marginal adjustments.

like the other wardens she worships the forest spirit urgoz, though to xem it's much more about the concept of decay than urgoz himself. he regularly takes off the flowers growing on their head to let them rot as an offering for the forest.

she took on the moniker kokudan to use outside of warden circles (where xe go by warden of decaying leaves), which has since become the main alias xe are known as. it's a name that induces no small amount of terror in canthan bureaucrats, with two high profile minister assassinations that could be attributed to her without doubt, amongst other crimes like sabotage, arson and domestic terrorism.

there's little official information on them, but anyone is urged to avoid interaction in any way. they've been linked tentatively to speaker activities, though MinTel believes that they operate within other criminal groups as well.

as a specter xe use shadows to travel and hide his presence until it's already too late for the target, striking swiftly and efficiently, leaving behind nothing but a few half-rotten leaves scattered almost like an afterthought. while usually under a faint mesmer illusion to blend in with the regular crowd of canthan civilization, xe have learned to use clothing and its shadows to hide xir unusual complexion.
