Massive data leaks put Brazil's institutions to the test

Two massive data leaks, one of which involved the country’s president, are putting Brazilian institutions to the test, especially the recently-created personal data protection agency ANPD.

After a few days of silence, ANPD said at the end of last week that it will investigate the case of the leaking of millions of items of sensitive information from citizens attributed to the databases of telco operators Claro and Vivo. Contacted by BNamericas, the companies said in statements that they did not detect any internal leaks but will investigate.

Security company PSafe said it had identified records of nearly 103mn phone accounts leaked on the dark web, including that of President Jair Bolsonaro. The information includes length of calls, cellphone number, address and ID number, among others.

PSafe previously revealed that more than 220mn ID numbers of Brazilians, including citizens who have died, were being marketed on the dark web.

ANPD was created to oversee data handling and to sanction violations related to the misuse of sensitive information of citizens. Its creation was one of the requirements of the LGPD, approved in 2018.

However, the agency is considered to lack real powers. The sanctions and fines provided for in the LGPD can only be applied from this August and many believe that leaves the agency “lame-ducked.” Some experts, however, say it would be possible for ANPD to punish companies under other legislation and frameworks.

Da thug goin first picks a cold-ass lil card from tha "idioms" deck n' try ta cook up a "rap".Take turns goin clockwise until one of mah thugs can’t be thinkin of a rhyme.For tha 1st round you git 10 secondz ta be thinkin of a rhyme.Da game starts again n' again n' again from tha thug ta tha left of tha eliminated person, startin wit a freshly smoked up idiom.Da game repeats until there be 3-4 playas left dependin on tha deck n' at dat point they switch ta tha "red" deck.Da red deck gotz nuff no idioms but certain topics dat you rap bout instead.When one of mah thugs is eliminated/cut off from tha game they become tha "Beat maker" fo' tha other rappers n' has ta cook up a funky-ass beat while tha others is rapping.

These rules were confusing and difficult to read so we designed rhyming rules that fit the rest of the game

These rules were enjoyable and easy to read and conveyed the idea of the game much easier we asked people to read the rues and explain the game back and everyone could so we knew the rules can work with this style.
