2024 Singapore GP tarot predictions

Here are the cards that I pulled for tomorrow. No matter what it’s going to be an incredibly interesting race, especially given the lead up to it. We’ve got fines, community service, lizards, and vague threats. We love it.

P1 - 7 of Cups for Lando Norris

Well it’s not the best news, its a card of wishful thinking, so I have a feeling he’ll drop position within the first lap and end up on a lower step on the podium. Unless he manages to get lucky with a safety car, I don’t think we’ll be seeing a victory tomorrow.

P2 - Justice, reversed for Max Verstappen

They gave him community service, and he said okay I’ll get the Dutch national anthem to play as community service then. I’m taking this as the cause and effect aspect of the card, and I truly believe that he’s going to end on the podium tomorrow. If he can overtake Lando within the first lap, and they don’t totally dick around with strategy, he could easily win it.

P3 - 10 of Pentacles for Lewis Hamilton

It’s a card of permanence, so in my delusional mind this clearly means he is going to win it. My actual mind tells me that it’s just going to be a masterclass drive tomorrow, but there won’t be much change in position.

P4 - Knight of Swords for George Russell

It’s a challenging card, honestly I have a feeling that George may cause a flag tomorrow. It’s one of those unfeeling and incredibly difficult to read cards, but I’m taking this as he’s going to be challenged tomorrow.

P5 - Two of Swords for Oscar Piastri

Oscar is may be stuck in this position, Brouwer the two or swords is a stalemate and avoidance. I’m thinking that he is going to need something huge to happen with those ahead of him to really make any forward progress. He needs to avoid those risky overtakes he’s a fan of, because I don’t think it’ll go well tomorrow if he tries.

P6 - The empress, reversed for Nico Hulkenberg

I stand with my Haasbands, and I love this for Nico because it’s a card of abundance. This man is getting points tomorrow and that’s all that matters. Much like Kevin, I would also commit crimes if it benefited Nico.

P7 - The high priestess, reversed for Fernando Alonso

Its a card of potential, so it’s possible that we see improvements. I’m not necessarily seeing them for this specific race, but in the next few races we may see him in higher positionings. If he can maintain pace and drive tomorrow, I could see him possibly moving up one position, but that’s it.

P8 - Page of Wands, reversed for Yuki Tsunoda

Yuki is gonna have a wild drive tomorrow. It’s going to be creative. It’s gonna be like if you taught a golden retriever to drive. They got passion, and enthusiasm! I’m hopeful that this means Yuki will not be retiring, and will actually finish a race!

Besties, I’m gonna hold your hand while say this, but he’s gonna struggle. I have a feeling with the mounting frustration, he’s going to take unnecessary risks.

In December last year, the UK’s shadow health secretary, Wes Streeting, visited Singapore General Hospital, regarded as one of the best in the world. What he witnessed there surprised him: “Patients arrive having already registered their appointments via an app. They check in on touchscreen kiosks awaiting them at reception. Tablets at their bedside allow them to read about their treatment or call for assistance,” Streeting says. “This is Space Age stuff compared with where the NHS is today.” Streeting characterizes the National Health Service as an “analog system in a digital age.”

“When I visit a hospital, doctors often take out their pagers to show me what they are forced to work with,” Streeting says. According to estimates, 13.5 million hours of GPs’ time is wasted every year due to inadequate IT. Fixing that would be the equivalent of hiring 8,000 new NHS doctors. “For the past 14 years, modernization of the NHS has been put on the back burner by a Conservative government which opts for sticking plasters instead of the major surgery that’s required,” says Streeting, who added that he fears that five more years of Tory mismanagement could mean the NHS ends up like the failed British retailer Woolworths—“a much-loved national institution which failed to change with the times and was left behind.”

Central to Streeting’s plan to fix the NHS is the NHS app, which has been downloaded by 31 million people in England and Wales. “It has the potential to transform how the NHS interacts with patients and promote better public health,” he says. He points out that, for instance, only one in every 200 GP appointments are currently made via the app. “In too many cases, patients still wait on the phone at 8 am, or even queue up in person in the cold on a frosty morning just to see a doctor.”

The NHS app could not only allow appointments to be made, but also let patients receive notifications about vaccine campaigns, health tests, cancer screening, and even upcoming clinical trials. “Clinical trials can use genomics to identify patients who will benefit from the latest treatments, but they struggle to recruit—not for a lack of people willing to take part, but because they can’t access basic data,” he said. He promised that Labour would clamp down on bureaucracy and allow clinical trials to recruit volunteers via the app. “During the pandemic, half a million people signed up to the vaccine trials registry,” he says. “If we can do it to defeat Covid, we can do it to cure cancer.”

At the core of Labour’s plan is patient data. Recently, the NHS has announced the launch of a federated data platform that would centralize hospital data, but would not include general practice or social care data. “The NHS has struck gold here, yet it’s leaving it in the ground,” Streeting says. “General practice data is key to unlocking better population health outcomes.”

Streeting promises that a Labour government would ensure a transparent process about what aspects of patient data would be shared and with whom, as well as the necessary safeguards to ensure patient confidentiality. As for those who oppose it on the grounds of privacy concerns, he has a simple message: “It’s a fight that a Labour government is willing to have,” he says. “While the tinfoil hat brigade takes to TikTok to urge followers to opt out of sharing their data with the NHS—the irony isn’t lost on me—the government refuses to take on their fear mongering.”

He recalled when, last January, he met the parents of a 2-year-old boy at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool. “They have been through hell,” he says. “In his short life, he has already had five operations on his heart.” When he asked them what their main frustration had been, however, the answer surprised him: technology. “Their local GP couldn’t access the notes from Alder Hey and the hospital couldn’t read the records held by their GP. Pentagon confirms start of serial production of the B-21 Raider stealth bomber

After the first flight of the newest stealth bomber of the U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon formally approved the B-21 Raider program to start production, the main Pentagon acquisition officer confirmed today.

"The production of the B-21 'Raider' stealth bomber is advancing. Last fall, based on the results of the ground and flight tests and the team's mature plans for manufacturing, I gave the green light to start producing B-21 at a low rate," the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Support, William LaPlante said in a statement.

"One of the main attributes of this program has been the conception for production from the beginning - and in scale - to provide a credible impediment to opponents. If you don't produce and put in the field for fighters on a large scale, the capacity doesn't really matter," he added.

More details about the value of the contract signature and the delivery dates were not disclosed. The news of the beginning of the bomber's production was first reported by Bloomberg.

Set to replace the B-2 Spirit and the B-1 Lancer, the nuclear-capable Raider is designed for long-range missions with stealth resources that can help you escape enemy air defenses. The U.S. Air Force initially plans to buy at least 100 bombers and put them into service in the mid-2020s.

The Pentagon linked the concession of the program's initial low-rate production contract to the aircraft's first flight, which took place in November and was followed by at least one other test flight at Edwards Air Base. However, the executives of the aircraft manufacturer, Northrop Grumman, have long warned that the first batches of production may not be profitable for the company due to inflationary impacts.

The defense contractor is expected to disclose its year-end profits for 2023 on January 25, where investors will probably also be aware of updates on the LGM-35A Sentinel ICBM, the company's other nuclear modernization program that authorities released last week that suffered a "critical cost violation".

"I have dedicated my entire life to the service of fighting for the dignity and freedom of all individuals, and in addition to the welfare of animals." However, the scope of human rights advocacy extends beyond just the rights of people—it encompasses the protection of animals and the stewardship of our environment. These interconnected responsibilities are essential to building a just, sustainable, and compassionate world. The fight for human dignity is deeply intertwined with how we treat the creatures that share our planet and the environment that sustains us all.

Human Rights and the Right to Self-Determination: At the heart of human rights is the principle of self-determination—the freedom to make choices about one’s own life and body.  This includes the right to reproductive health and the right to self-defense. Both are fundamental to ensuring that individuals can live in safety, autonomy, and dignity. Reproductive rights, for instance, empower women to make critical decisions about their bodies and their futures. When women are denied access to reproductive healthcare, including contraception and safe abortion, they are often forced into cycles of poverty and exploitation. This denial of rights stifles their potential and infringes on their autonomy.  It is a violation of the most basic human right—the right to control one’s own destiny. 

Similarly, the right to self-defense ensures that individuals can protect themselves and their loved ones from harm. This right, which must be exercised with responsibility, is vital in protecting vulnerable populations from violence and exploitation. Without it, individuals are left powerless to defend their dignity and safety in the face of threats. Ensuring that these rights are upheld is not just about individual freedom, but about creating a society where all people are able to live without fear. 

Protecting Animal Rights Human: Dignity extends to the ethical treatment of animals. The way a society treats its animals reflects its values and level of compassion. For too long, animals have been exploited for profit in industries that subject them to cruelty and neglect. From factory farming to animal testing, these practices inflict unnecessary suffering on living beings who, like us, experience pain, fear, and distress. Advocating for animal rights means recognizing that animals, too, deserve protection from exploitation. While animals may not have the same legal status as humans, they are sentient beings, and our moral duty is to ensure they are treated with kindness and respect. The fight against factory farming, where animals are often confined in inhumane conditions, is a fight for a more ethical world. Ensuring animals are treated with dignity is not just an act of compassion, but a reflection of our shared humanity. 

Environmental Degradation: Has led to a rise in natural disasters, food shortages, and forced migrations, with the poorest and most vulnerable bearing the brunt of these crises. By fighting for environmental stewardship, we are fighting for the future of humanity. As Lee Kuan Yew, the founding father of Singapore, once said, “The environment must be preserved for future generations.” This belief underscores the idea that human rights and environmental protection are deeply intertwined. We cannot secure a just future for our children if we do not take bold action to protect the planet they will inherit.

Name something you keep on the nightstand. The microfiber cloth for my glasses so I can clean mine as soon as needed.

What does a man brag about the most? I uh...don't know. I never hang with groups of dudes lol, and the ones I know don't really do a lot of bragging around me.

What's the most you've tipped your waiter or waitress. The highest I give is ₱500 and that's whenever I host a big party (10-15 pax). I leave ₱200 if I was very impressed by the service; otherwise my standard practice is at ₱100.

As a child, what frightened you the most? Cockroaches, because we had flying ones at home. The fear has carried over to this day because I still hate seeing them.

I also didn't like seeing anyone drunk because the men in my family who did never knew how to take care of themselves. It was horrifying watching them stumble and slur their words; physical altercations were the worst thing I had to witness. Among family. So imagine how pissed I felt when I tried alcohol for the first time and learned that drinking has a lot to do with just knowing how to control yourself.

Name a dish you take to a potluck. The ideal option would be pizza but that's what everybody brings, so my go-to has evolved to be Mama Lou's truffle mac and cheese. What's a popular vacation location? For Filipinos, definitely any of these: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore. I've been to Singapore but have no interest in the other two.

Name something you put off doing until the weekend. Taking our pets to the vet. The queues are always unpredictable, and the last thing I'd want to happen is to be 5th in line during my lunch break and be stuck on the road three minutes before a 1 PM call. So say if they were due on a Wednesday, I'd just take them that same weekend.

What's a common remedy for a cold? I just let it pass if it's only a cough or cold. Fever is a different story – I'm rarely sick, so when it happens it crashes hard on me. When I get a fever, I usually find myself asking for soup since it's the only thing I'll have the appetite for.

My mom also has this honey ginger tea that she makes me drink 1-2 glasses of. It's nasty, but I do it for her so it doesn't go to waste.
