I just can't get over the way they framed these two shots. Diabolical.

Also my silly little Tesla theory (that I'm sure someone has already posited because I'm a year late to tristamp and several years late to trigun in general lol) is that she was a plant like Vash- ie seemed "useless" at first but was supposed to function as a communicator/healer for plants. But since there were no sick plants on the ships, she never got to illustrate her abilities and was then used up as a labrat. Thus why she and Vash would have been in the same file instead of Vash sharing a file with Nai.

And after Tesla was put away, it takes 50 years for the plants to birth new independents. One like Tesla (Vash) and the other more capable of protecting. Nai can't heal plants like Vash can, but he's meant to keep him from being vulnerable. Something like that

Shout out to how Brad being initially hostile and wary towards Vash upon learning that he could speak and understand human speech in Tristamp, with him raising his wrench in a defensive position, something that Luida rightfully admonishes him for,

only to come to put in the effort and the time to acknowledge when he’s treated him unfairly, even cruelly at times,

to reflect on the choices he’s made and the actions he’s taken and how it led to things going down the way they did,

to apologize for what he’s said and done, and to continue to support and be there for Vash however way he can

such as through providing him with the best prosthetic he could give him after he came back to Ship 3 with Luida missing an arm and continuing to repair it every time he comes back home with it damaged,

heading out to the outskirts of Hopeland where the sandsteamer was after Vash damaged his prosthetic arm from lifting the ion cannon and passed out from exhaustion from working together with the ship’s Plant to slow the ship down and keep it from crashing into Hopeland,

defending him when Wolfwood doubted Vash for his goal to save everyone, telling him he’s strong enough to find a way to make his dream happen when he himself would have doubted his words too long ago,

and helping him achieve his dream by assisting Luida with her terraforming project using flora in place of Plants nicely contrasts how the people on Ship 5 who were experimenting on Tesla in Trimax reacted with joy and excitement upon learning that she could speak and understand human speech and what this could mean for the development between mankind and the Plants

only for them to pointedly ignore what she actually says, refuse to see her as an actual living being who they’re committing a number of ethics violations on, and regard her with a very detached, very clinical assessment of her physical, emotional, and psychological state, all the way up until her body fell apart. @tristampparty

One thing I always wondered about in Trimax but even more so in Stampede is..

What would Tesla think of the twins.

In Trimax we don't have an answer, she's already dead and gone. Only her spirit is there, etched in every particules of the narrative.

But in Stampede, they made her role a bit more active. She is not just a ghost, or a warning, or even a truth.

She is a tool.

Of The Eye of Michael, she is their icon, but mostly of Knives. She is the Eye in his knife. She is the Eye of his storm. She's the witness of humanity final judgement.

But is it something she really would have wanted? Does she likes the revenge she was offered, does she like what they did to Nicholas? What they did to her, unto the other ?

Is she truly getting revenge or is she still getting used for someone else motives again? Not for curiosity this time, but for anger?

Trying to organize my thoughts on Plant skin and how it manifests on Independents

Since we never see the twins any younger than a year old, I wonder if they're born with their skin gray with the fully developed plant markings, if it's just gray and the markings develope later, or if they start with pink skin and the plant skin covering comes in later?

Now, why do I think that it's Plant skin specifically and not just a gray undersuit like what it seems like Rem is wearing? Well, I mean, why would they have tiny suits with Plant patterns on them? Every other version of the gray undersuit part if the SEEDS uniform is a solid darker gray with patches of lighter gray that stops at wrists and ankles. The twins' plant skin is full bodied save for their heads. Also it seems to me that their tunics are basically the smallest version of this shirt that Rem could find lol

But obviously, at some point, they shed the Plant skin, which had to be replaced by more human cothes

My thought is that it may have happened when they were 2 or 3, and for this, I bring up Tesla

Her arms are bare and pink, so the long gray bit on her neck is from a shirt. I would say she's a little older that the twins here. At the very least, she's bigger than them.

Not by much, but I think she was a little older than them before she was experimented on. So. At around age 2 or 3, the Plant skin sheds away

The Plant markings do still show up on their bodies without the Plant skin (perhaps it's a protective layer for when they're very young?), however the markings on normal skin aren't as full coverage

Which of course brings us to adult Nai, who's regrown his Plant skin. It's interesting because the markings on his face don't align with the markings from his suit, but the suit *is* him because those markings also light up. I'm thinking it probably took time and practice to be able to bring back the Plant skin as, even if briefly, he did have to wear human clothes at one point. I like the idea that if Vash also manifested Plant skin as an adult, his would be black with the purple markings. It's such an interesting piece of design that's never fully discussed in the show other than Meryl remarking that the markings on Vash’s face are "like a plants". Makes me so curious about them!

So, S2 is gonna be called Trigun Stargaze & some fans are already abbreviating it to Tristar, which is super cute.

A lot of fans have pointed out how the og/standalone name 'Trigun' is a nice wink to Vash, who has his gun, his prosthetic & the Angel Arm. But upon hearing 'Tristar', yk what I thought of? Them:

And the one star that was never given the chance to shine but forever haunts their orbit: Tesla.
