even though he does feel bouts of jealousy and desire to hide his darling away from the world, their cliginess and constant affection keeps him assured that it isn't needed now. his darling provides him with enough affection he's sure they won't leave him; now he just has to beat the lights out of anyone who even thinks of taking them away from him
