We need to talk about old, niche, slightly creepy mobile games again.
WHERE'S MY Tentacles: Enter the Dolphin WHERE'S MY Zombie Catchers WHERE'S MY Zombie Fish Tank
Can we PLEASE make communities & headcanons around these old gems?

Here me out for mer stuff
Maybe human is shipwrecked and a mer (perhaps one that keeps treasures like an octopus) saving you and keeping you in a little underground cave with an airbubble until you get better but you both start getting closer... maybe they become obsessed with you
You're stuck in the cold and a seal person or penguin person offers their body heat to you since it's very insulating... and theres otherways for them to make you even warmer
Getting passed around a pod of dolphins and otters cause they're very sexual and otters hold onto you as you rest between round since they hold hands with partners
Electric eels/lungfish giving you little shocks as it coils around you.
A deep sea angler lady with a hynotizing glow that wants you to be a part of her with all the other men she's absorbed.
A jellyfish who's tentacles secrete aphrodisiacs instead
Urchins with a super soft underbelly!!
A clam trapping you in their shell or an anemone keeping you within it
Betta fish wrapping you in their fins
Also imagine perhaps a parasite or amoeba from the water entering and forming a symbiosis with you... you have a bf in your head that speaks with you and though he can't touch you he can make you feel things by messing with your brain and bodily functions
Tha k u for entertaining me
ANON YOU'RE A MIND READER! I WAS JUST THINKING OF DOING A MARINE HYBRID POST!
It was gonna be like an addition to the bird hybrid post but I was having major writers block and I couldn't think of fuckall.
BUT YOU! UR SO BIG BRAINED OMG.
My faves were the:
• Octopus hoarding reader like treasure 🥺
• The electric eel shocks! Yesss
• I fucking hate dolphins cus they scare me but Otters on the other hand are soooo cute. Passing you around and just snuggling you into their soft fur when u need a quick nap. Have you seen the videos of otters massaging each other? Yes exactly like that.
• ooooh I just know the angler fish and the jellyfish hybrids would be so scary and intimidating in such a sexy way, uknow? Like "Oooo am I gonna eat you or fuck you? Oooo let's find out"
• The amoeba boyfriend is very interesting 🤔 especially since u can't really break up lmao. How would u even have disagreements? Because he's basically you? I definitely want to revisit this idea.

another octavinelle in captivity concept, but consider (rather than a research lab) merfolk are something of an entertainment for humans and are captured and sold to aquarium parks.
there hasn't been enough research on them to determine whether or not this is humane and ethical and whether or not merfolk function on the same level of intelligence as humans do. but then there are ways to skirt around suspicions and questions, covering up dubious morals and ethics with all sorts of convoluted legalese and happy diversions. besides, merfolk are so novel and exciting. so many people are eager to see them in their tanks, performing all manner of fun tricks for the public, so the flashiness of something new does well to cover up the mounting dread that this isn't right.
there are three merfolk in captivity at your local aquarium. two eel mermen, twin brothers, and an octopus merman. they're so fascinating. no one's ever seen anything like them before. one of the twins is far more playful; he's a fan favorite. audiences are astounded by his agility, his ability to perform amazing tricks as he weaves through obstacles, jumps up out of the water like a majestic dolphin, catches fish midair, and seems to have such friendly, outgoing relations with his trainers. he even lets kids pat him on the head when they're randomly selected from the audience to get close to him. as scary and strong as he may seem, he is quite the gentle sweetheart.
the other twin is much more reserved and quiet, but he knows how to entertain. he's sly and sneaky, swiping things from the trainers and then making them disappear before the audience's eyes with skillful sleight of hand. children adore him. tiny hands press against the glass beneath the main event area, where people can watch them swim at deeper depths. both eels love amusing the children, swimming in circles, pressing their hands to the glass in greeting, waving and clicking with big, toothy smiles. it's very endearing. they even pose for photographs!
and then there's the octopus.
he's had...incidents and so he isn't kept in the spotlight anymore. they isolate him from curious eyes. he isn't very friendly. rather, he's excessively gloomy and defensive. he's kept in a pool for the ill. you tend to him, doing your best to provide stimulation. he's so smart, but you're not allowed to tell anyone that or else ethics will be brought into question. you slip him cube puzzles and other curiosities, and for a while he seems pleased. it took many months for him to be comfortable around humans after his last incident, and now it seems like he genuinely trusts you. you sit poolside and chat with him for hours, and he responds with his clicks and chirps. you wish he wasn't kept in captivity like this. it doesn't seem fair. he's missing out on so much life in the wide, vast ocean beyond this cramped enclosure.
you know you should feel happy when you see him every morning, noting how brightly he lights up when he sees you enter his enclosure, but you can't help the sadness that strikes through your heart. it's not fair. he and the eels shouldn't be put on display. their home is in the ocean. they deserve freedom.
wild animals will always be wild animals, for they can never be tamed no matter how much you might delude yourself into thinking so.
so it's horrifying when the eel twins tug their trainers into the pool, bloodying their maws and the water before an audience of once-awestruck people, reminding everyone that, no matter how sweet and friendly they may seem, they are predators from the deep who can tear a human to shreds within mere seconds. it's just as horrifying when the octopus is wrapping his tentacles around your ankles and wrists, clicking frantically at you, face flushed blue and desperate as he tries to pull you into his pool.
you're not killed, but maybe that would have been better than having to endure the poor octopus's clumsy, possessive attempt to mate with you.
the pool for the ill gets two more visitors, and the eel twins are pleased to see you again, flashing big, broad smiles and clicking with excitement. you've stopped visiting and training with them ever since you were transferred to the octopus, so they had to take matters into their own claws and find a way to meet you again.
merfolk are not a novelty to be captured and placed on display. the aquarium park learns this the hard way, and so do you when they refuse to give you up to the humans.

Lycan Varients Lycan Varients Lycan Varients-
Note: these are all rough sketches/concepts so if it's a mess thats why.
Note note: I'm fully aware lycans aren't actually werewolves/werecreatures/are usually mostly humanoid/ect, these are my headcanons/concepts for my current comfort media and I am having fun.
Drawings/info under the cut
Lycans and Lycanity as a whole are among the most common mutations in the Village and surrounding areas. These creatures often form their own packs or other group settlements, usually lead by a Urias variation or the strongest of the group if one is not available. The most common of these are standard or Lowland types, these are the ones found throughout the main village and surrounding forest.
However, lycans that live in proximity to or within the domain of one of the four lords tend to mutate in different ways to suit said environments, sometimes with the direct influence of the areas lord. These are as follows
Castle/Harpy variant
Tumblr media
These are perhaps the furthest from a standard lycan, made for flight and climbing, as well as airborne hunting. These are exclusive to the area of Castle Dimitrescu and the surrounding mountain and cliffs. They evolved in such a wild fashion due to Alcina not wanting to be involved with such creatures, leaving them to grow and change on their own.
Their hind legs are incredibly strong to aid in take off, and their tail is both prehensile and helps them steer in the air. Similar to the castle denizens, they feed on blood and flesh, using their hollow tongue to drink, and their strong jaws which are capable of opening at a ninety degree angle to rip through flesh and crush bones. There's the vestigial remains of human fingers on the edges of their wings. They live in matriarchal flocks lead by one or two strong female memories.
Common mutations within these variations include: compound eyes, non developed wings or extra wings, multiple tongues or ears, and serrated wing edges.
Valley/Mist/Wraith Variant
Tumblr media
Known as the ghosts of the Valley, the lycans of the area surrounding Beneviento Estate are rarely seen and few in number. These evolved for life within the mists, and work to scare away trespassers. They're more civil than other lycan variations, and keep to themselves unless someone enters their territory. They use bones from the surrounding graveyard to decorate themselves.
They have developed long, whispy fur that blends into the mist and looks like dress clothes, and incredibly fragile skin thats prone to cracking. These cracks leak both black liquid and black mist that can create illusions to confuse, distract, or frighten prey and intruders. It isn't certain what they're societal structure is, as they're rarely seen.
Common mutations within these variations include: extra limbs or elongated limbs, lack of eyes, full body fur, lack of lower jaw or elongated lower jaw.
Reservoir/Kelpy Variant
Tumblr media
Living within the reservoir and underground tunnels, these lycans have left behind most of their humanoid features. They mostly in water, but are capable of coming onto land for short durations. They're known for their pack hunting in both water and on land if it comes to it.
These have developed for a more aquatic life style, with webbed front and back feet, a rudder like tail, otter like fur, gills, and fins. They have camouflaging fur that resembles underwater plants, and a sail along their back that helps them sense vibrations in the water. They live in pods similar to dolphins or whales with no distinct leader.
Common mutations within these variations include: extra eyes, fused hind legs, tentacles, fleshy growths, long bioluminescent whiskers.
Factory/Junkyard/Frankenstein variant
Tumblr media
The most varied and most versatile of the lycans, the factory variant lives within the Junkyards and fields surrounding Heisenbergs factory. He was very hands-on with their evolution and development, through both experimentation and selective breeding in some cases. They're capable of following simple commands and can do menial tasks if asked.
There's no real standard for this variant, as they both absorb metal into their bodies, thus altering their appearance, or are whisked off to the factory on occasion and modified. The only standard is their short fur and bipedal stance, along with dexterity. They are capable of making and using tools and weapons, making them effective hunters. They live in factions of their own, each with leaders, but ultimately answer to Heisenberg (who is thought to be some subset of a Urias, who didn't take on the form due to his other mutations taking priority within his body), as do the lowland packs.

The Day Bikini Bottom Stood Still (SpongeBob SquarePants x The Little Mermaid Fanfic)
Synopsis: After an attempt at undoing the damage he had done to Ariel’s collection, King Triton decides to get his mind off the surprise for a bit until Ariel and Eric return from their honeymoon. So he travels to Bikini Bottom to taste the so called Krabby Patty. Chaos ensues.
As King Triton’s dolphin driven chariot approached the city of Bikini Bottom, he couldn’t think about what he had done. Sure, he had granted his daughter Ariel’s wish to be a human permanently, but that didn’t undo the damage he had done by destroying her collection of treasures. He decided to give the Ultimate apology by repairing them from the ground up- but with a bit of improvising. “Your majesty, we’ve arrived.” Sebastian said as the chariot rolled to a stop. They had arrived at the bustling metropolis that was Bikini Bottom.
But as soon as Triton exited the chariot with Sebastian, The Bikini Bottomites started freaking out at once. A giant merman was in their city; and they predicted that with his trident that he would blow them to bits. “Do any of you know the way to the Krusty Krab?” Said Triton. “Me! I do!” Said a voice. It was SpongeBob SquarePants, walking down the street and the only one to not be afraid of the giant merman in front of him. “For a sea sponge, you surely know a lot.” Triton said as he picked up SpongeBob. “Don’t worry. It’s just down the road.” The sponge said as he hopped down and pointed the way.
At the Krusty Krab, a bunch of alarms were going on in Mr. Krabs’ head. “We have a Code Gold- a VIP guest is just about to arrive at The Krusty Krab!!!” He panicked, knowing that if said VIP guest was not pleased, he would lose the one thing he loved most- money. “Hurry! He’s coming!!” Squidward Tentacles screamed as he threw the magazine over his shoulder. Just then, SpongeBob entered the restaurant, followed by King Triton and Sebastian. “Ya wanna order, big guy?” Patrick Star asked. “Ok. I’ll take one Dr. Kelp.” Sebastian said. However, King Triton thought king and hard, until finally uttering, “I’ll take one Krabby Patty.” He said.
“Mr. Krabs! All he wants is one Krabby Patty!” SpongeBob exclaimed. “Do you realize this, boy?! If he hates the Krabby Patty, not only will I lose money, but he might just blow the place to bits!” Panicked Mr. Krabs. SpongeBob knew EXACTLY what he had to do. He grabbed out the meat for the Patty, the toppings, and the bread buns; and began to cook. Everyone stared nervously as the Krabby Patty began to take shape, only for it to be finally finished and served to the giant merman king of Atlantica. “Here you are, sir! Enjoy!” The sea sponge said as he placed the burger on the king’s plate.
The king took one bite of the Krabby Patty. He analyzed it thoroughly, and swallowed. “Please don’t blow us up, please don’t blow us up, please don’t blow us up!” Squidward worried. “Mr. SquarePants, there is something I’d like to confess.” Triton said as Sebastian finished sipping his Dr. Kelp. “What would that be…?!” Patrick said, worried that the massive king would blow everyone to bits. “This is without a doubt… the best meal I’ve ever eaten!” Triton replied ecstatically. “Whew…!” Everyone said as they breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank goodness for that. I hoped that the fact you’d blow us up would never happen-!” Mr. Krabs said. “I’ve been to ocean kingdoms all over my world and I’ve been served only expensive foods- it’s uninspired and gets boring very quickly! But your food has all the care that should be put into cooking- and for that I love it!” Triton said with a proud smile.
“Whew! And here I thought you’d blow this whole place to bits!” Squidward said, wiping sweat off of his head. “That reminds us. Are you willing to open up a branch store in Atlantica? The Merpeople aka his majesty’s subjects would love to try your menu.” Sebastian replied. Seeing the chance at being a huge source of money, Mr. Krabs gasped and immediately said yes. “Oh boy…” SpongeBob said as he Facepalmed. Mr. Krabs’ greed was practically boundless, yet so was SpongeBob’s passion for cooking the Krabby Patty itself.

(Kwazii's pov)
"What's going on?" I exclaimed, as everyone gathered in the launch bay. "We've lost contact with the Captain" Tweak explained. "Oh no" Peso worried, covering his little yellow beak with his flippers. "And there's a storm on the way" Dashi added. The room fell silent, save for Peso gulping and Tunip fainting. "We gotta find him" I exclaimed, "Dashi can you track the Captain?". "Let's see... Ah! His octocompas. Here Kwazii" she smiled, gesturing to a screen. A little picture of the Captain appeared on the map. "Hmm, if that's his octocompas then where's the gup-A's gupfinder in comparison?" I asked. "Hmm, now let's see.." Dashi mused as her paws tapped various buttons. "You're doing well kwazii" Inkling smiled, placing a tentacle on my shoulder. I glanced at him, as I was about to ask what he meant when Dashi exclaimed "uh oh!". "What's wrong?" I asked. "The last known location is nowhere near where the location of the Captain's compas" Dashi explained, zooming out on the map to further her explanation. "Yarrg!" I groaned, "Tweak, Peso, in the gup-C with me. We've gotta find the Captain" I ordered without much thought, only thinking of Barnacles wellbeing. "Aye aye kwazii" Tweak saluted, pulling the formentioned gups out of storage. Peso took a deep breath before he waddled up to me, "I'm ready when you are". I gave him a thumbs up, "the gups are ready boys" Tweak announced. I nodded in her direction before clearing my throat and gaining the attention of the rest of the crew, "Octonauts, let's do this!".
(Barnacles' pov)
"Woah" I exclaimed, as the dolphins came into view. Shellington really wasn't kidding when he said there was a lot of dolphins, "Tweak to Captain Barnacles" Tweak's voice came through the radio. "Barnacles here, are you seeing this?" I asked. "Yes! It's amazing!" Shellington exclaimed excitedly. I smiled at the sea otter's excitement, he reminds me if myself when I was younger, bursting at the seams at the thought of discovering new sea creatures and equally as excited to research the ones we already know about. Suddenly,
"Cap*static*Captain"
Tweak's voice began to break up, "Tweak, come in" I voiced, trying to not lose the radio, But alas the connection went. "Is everything alright?" A familiar voice asked. "Pardon?" I questioned, leaning forward in a vague attempt to see who was speaking. A pair of dolphins popped up in view, "hello again Dusty" I smiled, waving to the young dolphin as he flipped in place. "Are you okay? Sounded like you having a problem" Dusty's mum asked. "Well, I've lost radio contact with the octopod" I explained. "Could I be of some assistance?" A deep African accent asked. "Eh?" I questioned.
That's when the last thing I expected to see came in to my line of sight, a lion in a diving mask and an oxygen tank "Captain Adio!" Dusty exclaimed, circling the lion. "Jambo Dusty, who's you're friend here?" The lion asked, gesturing to me. "Um.. I'm Captain Barnacles of the octonauts and uh.. I seem to have lost contact with my crew" I explained, trying to pull myself together. "Pleasure to meet you Barnacles, I'm Captain Adio of the terranauts" Adio explained, "permission to come abroad?" He added. "Permission granted" I replied, opening the gup-A's hatch for Adio.
The lion entered the gup quickly, "uh.. everything okay?" I asked, slightly concerned as he ripped his mask off. "I'm fine but there is a storm coming, how well can your ship handle rough water?" Adio explained. "You'd have to ask my friend Tweak that question, she built the gup-A and the rest of our ships" I replied. "This Tweak sounds like my engineer Ace" Adio explained with a deep chuckle. First Kwazii, and now... "is everything alright?" Adio asked, interrupting my train of thought. "Never seen a lion in the ocean?" He added with a smile. "Um, not exactly. Kwazii, my first mate, loves swimming but he was the only cat I knew that liked water until now" I explained. "First mate?, you mea.." Adio started, he was interrupted by thunder cracking overhead. "We should head for deeper water now!" He exclaimed, pounding his fist into his palm. "Understood" I replied, moving the gup-A down.
(Kwazii's pov)
"Avast! This storm be a lively one" I exclaimed, scanning the ocean with me spyglass. "Um.. Tweak?" Peso asked nervously, "why are going so far down?". "I'm following the Captain's compas on the map, it shows he's movin' deeper" Tweak explained. Peso gulped and put his flippers on either side of his bill, "it's alright me little penguin matey" I soothed, rubbing the top of his head with me paw. "We're gonna find the Captain and head home as fast as we can" I smiled. "Hopefully.." Peso sighed, dropping his flippers back to his sides. The deeper we went, the darker it got. I'm starting to wonder why the Captain would go this deep, suddenly Tweak's ears twisted together. "Oh me, oh my!" She exclaimed. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Look" she said, pointing at the screen in front of her, showing the map. "It's the gup-A's gupfinder!" She added. "The storm must've messed up the signal" Tweak said mostly to herself.
"Mind telling me why the Captain would go this far down?" I asked. "Most likely to avoid the weather, how he knew about the storm is an entirely different question" Tweak explained. "Hmft" I huffed, crossing my arms and leaning on the dash. Keeping me eyes peeled for the gup-A and the Captain became increasingly more difficult the darker the water around us became. Luckily, Tweak outfitted her ship with lights. I've never been this deep, the warm blue water I'm used to from the surface turned into a inky dark endless abyss. Small lights off in the distance indicated small creatures, minding their business in the dark depths. How on earth anything survives down here is beyond me.

Hold on though, because there's so many different ways you could layer this, and it's more than just situational horror.
A cook's job is fundamental to the operation -- the survival -- of a ship and it's crew, and resource management is part of that.
The game is based around timed puzzles and remembering order combinations, as well as combining ingredients for high scores. The score can be measured in two ways: the crew really enjoyed the meal, or it adds to their health and strength. Some meals will bonus on delight but not strength (pudding) and others will bonus on strength but not delight (kale). Some are both, some are neither.
So you're the head cook, and the game takes place in a static frame of the galley: the preparation counter, stovetop and trash bin. There's a porthole and a door with a peephole where you take the orders from. Anyone beyond that door (they never enter) appears as a pair of eyes and a text box. You never leave the galley.
You're hard at work creating decent meals with what you have. Canned ingredients decrease Delight but hold Strength constant. Fresh ingredients boost Delight, especially fresh fruits and fish from local ports, etc etc.
One night, you get into a rough storm. As you're chopping away, a massive green tentacle curls in and out of porthole view. There's an emergency. Several casualties. The screen goes black and all you can hear is the clattering of your pots and the violent creaking of the ships wood.
When you rise, it's a sailor's worst nightmare. You're becalmed. What sea is visible past the porthole is still as glass. Dead.
It's also green. But you have other things to worry about. Keeping the crews strength up, for instance. Your job is the galley. You never leave the galley.
You run through the majority of your canned goods, slapping together disgusting watery stews as long as you can, and the crews Delight dips dangerously low. Sometimes, someone will even come by and make a threatening comment about how you're feasting in there, keeping all the food to yourself and letting them starve. The peephole slams shut and they leave.
Usually Paul comes to take the food from the galley to the dining hall. One day, it's not Paul. It's a sailor you've never met before, and he passes you a large hunk of meat. Fresh meat.
(they managed to catch a dolphin, they said, but needed to use the rest of the meat for bait, and the blubber for lamps. Everyone needed something fresh. Didn't you agree?)
The crews Delight soars the highest it's been in weeks, as does their strength. It's not your job to worry about the wind, but you hope it picks up soon.
Your ingredients start .... changing. First, it's an odd fish. Rubbery pink skin, almost like putty, and a great black staring eye. But you're just a common cook from X, and food is food. You chop it up. It's tangled insides smell like kerosene, and the guts crawl away when you aren't looking.
There's two ways you can go here. At first, the sailor's complain of the taste, and begrudgingly bring you increasingly strange sea creatures. Their Delight is low and their strength stays high, but supplies are still limited. The game makes clear that some parts of these creatures are safer than others, as catch preparation is a mini-game itself. Should you dig into the trash and rescue the wriggling guts of the fish and pan fry it into something that would help them live another day?
The more you give in and use these strange new ingredients, the crews Delight grows.
You hear laughter in the night, and barely visible in the porthole, something slithers up out of the flat sea and crawls toward the ship. You've long stopped eating. Even as you chop and boil and debone, you just can't bear the thought of all these strange shapes and textures inside of you.
There are shapes in the clouds outside, too. You never leave the galley.
Ingredients start talking to you, some begging you not to cook them. Others beg you to rip into them, split them, free them of a poisoned stale green sea, of the one who watches them and changes them with its eyes. No matter what, you don't talk back. That's just common sense.
One day, your avatar's hands white and weak, you chop off the tip of your finger. It falls in the night's soup. There's no blood, terrifyingly, but the Delight bar maxes out and breaks and the next day, there's no bars at all. Just you, chopping away.
The more you feed the crew, the hungrier they become. The cool down time between demanded courses shortens. New eyes appear at your peephole, new colors and shapes, and voices are changed. Someone with the captains signature scar growls out how good that smells cooking. The stove isn't on. You aren't cooking anything. There's nothing left to cook.
You never leave the galley.
Cooking horror game where you play as a cook working in the galley of a ship in the 1800s. There’s some kind of supernatural nautical horror story going on in the background but you barely notice this because you spend all day cooking in the galley.

1.
All day up and down the shore the
fine points of the waves keep on
tapping whatever is there: scatter of broken
clams, empty jingles, old
oyster shells thick and castellated that held
once the pale jewel of their bodies, such sweet
tongue and juice. And who do you
think you are sauntering along
five feet up in the air, the ocean a blue fire
around your ankles, the sun
on your face on your shoulders its golden mouth whispering
(so it seems) you! you! you!
2.
Now the afternoon wind
all frill and no apparent purpose
takes her cloud-shaped
hand and touches every one of the
waves so that rapidly
they stir the wings of the eiders they blur
the boats on their moorings; not even the rocks
black and blunt interrupt the waves on their
way to the shore and one last swimmer (is it you?) rides
their salty infoldings and outfoldings until,
peaked, their blue sides heaving, they pause; and God
whistles them back; and you glide safely to shore.
3.
One morning
a hundred pink and cylindrical
squid lay beached their lacy faces,
their gnarls of dimples and ropy tentacles
limp and powerless; as I watched
the big gulls went down upon
this sweetest trash rolling
like the arms of babies through the
swash—in a feathered dash,
a snarl of delight the beaks fell
grabbing and snapping; then was left
only the empty beach, the birds floating back over the waves.
4.
How many mysteries have you seen in your
lifetime? How many nets pulled
full over the boat’s side, each silver body
ready or not falling into
submission? How many roses in early summer
uncurling above the pale sands then
falling back in unfathomable
willingness? And what can you say? Glory
to the rose and the leaf, to the seed, to the
silver fish. Glory to time and the wild fields,
and to joy. And to grief’s shock and torpor, its near swoon.
5.
So it is not hard to understand
where God’s body is, it is
everywhere and everything; shore and the vast
fields of water, the accidental and the intended
over here, over there. And I bow down
participate and attentive
it is so dense and apparent. And all the same I am still
unsatisfied. Standing
here, now, I am thinking
not of His thick wrists and His blue
shoulders but, still, of Him. Where, do you suppose, is His
page and wonderful mind?
6.
I would be good—oh, I would be upright and good.
To what purpose? To be shining not
sinful, not wringing out of the hours
petulance, heaviness, ashes. To what purpose?
Hope of heaven? Not that. But to enter
the other kingdom: grace, and imagination,
and the multiple sympathies: to be as a leaf, a rose,
a dolphin, a wave rising
slowly then briskly out of the darkness to touch
the limpid air, the be God’s mind’s
servant, loving with the body’s sweet mouth—its kisses, its words—
everything.
7.
I know a man of such
mildness and kindness it is trying to
change my life. He does not
preach, teach, but simply is. It is
astonishing, for he is Christ’s ambassador
truly, by rule and act. But, more,
he is kind with the sort of kindness that shines
out, but is resolute, not fooled. He has
eaten the dark hours and could also, I think,
soldier for God, riding out
under the storm clouds, against the world’s pride and unkindness,
with both unassailable sweetness, and tempering word.
8.
Every morning I want to kneel down on the golden
cloth of the sand and say
some kind of musical thanks for
the world that is happening again—another day—
from the shawl of wind coming out of the
west to the firm green
flesh of the melon lately sliced open and
eaten, its chill and ample body
flavored with mercy. I want
to be worthy—of what? Glory? Yes, unimaginable glory.
O Lord of melons, of mercy, though I am
not ready, nor worthy, I am climbing toward you.

@brightlotusmoon @errorfreak88 Part 3 of my bay/rise crossover.
Leonardo didn't know where he was, and frankly he wasn’t sure he cared. He was more concerned about not knowing where April and Splinter and Donatello and Raphael were. His brothers— his family! He had reached out to them, felt his fingers brush against Splinters, and then they were being pulled apart again. Pulled away from each other. Then Leonardo was flying out of the rift, clinging with all his might to the only one he had managed to protect. Michelangelo. He landed hard, skipping across metal with solid thuds like a rock on water as he clung to the box turtle’s shell, his baby brother still hiding within. The bouncing eventually turned into a slide that brought Leonardo to crash against a wall. Pain shot through his extremities, but it only made him hold on to Michelangelo even tighter.
The minute they stopped, Michelangelo popped out his shell with a sharp yipe, his arms shooting out and wrapping around Leonardo to cling to him like a security blanket. Leonardo couldn’t help but smile and rubbed the younger mutants head in a comforting motion.
“It’s okay, hermano. Just a little bit of a bumpy ride.”
Michelangelo whimpered and his nose went back into his shell.
“Oh come on! Don’t be like that!”
Michelangelo pulled his arms and legs back in as well.
“Awww, come on~” Leonardo pushed himself away from the wall to lean over Michelangelo and peek into the shell as his shadowed face. “You know you wanna come out!”
“Where is out?” Michelangelo asked, his voice carrying a strange echo.
“Er…” Leonardo looked around. He didn't recognize the place, a giant metal ball with a spiraling floor design and a high ceiling, a blinking light at the top of it. He hummed and narrowed his eyes at the luring draw of the light, but didn't acknowledge it Past that. “Pokeball?”
“What? No we’re not!”
“Well how you gonna know if you don’t come out?”
Leonardo smirked and leaned back to give Michelangelo enough space to emerge. Michelangelo peeked his nose out once more.
“That’s it! Just a little more!” Leonardo encouraged.
Michelangelo’s full head poked out, and his neck too so he could look around at their surroundings. “Woah. This is so cool!”
“Cool isn’t exactly the word I’d use.” Leonardo whistled and stood up, reaching for his sword naturally. It was nowhere on his body.
“Hey uh— you don’t happen to have your yoyo, do you Miguel?”
“Um…” Michelangelo reached to his belt and frowned. “No. It’s gone somewhere… do you have your swords?”
“No.”
The structure gave a powerful groan and Michelangelo yelped, attaching himself to Leonardo’s side like glue. “It’s spooky here…”
Leonardo would be lying if he said that a similar anxiety hadn’t grown in his gut the moment they entered this strange place. Cold, dark, mechanical— everything Donatello loved, except without the eccentric nature. But he couldn’t be scared now. He has Michelangelo to look after, and right now his baby brother needed him.
“Hey hey hey, don’t get soft on me now!” Leonardo beamed, leaning down to Michelangelo’s level. “We just escaped the mother-freaking Shredder and you’re scared of a dingy little metal ball?”
“It’s not very little, Leo…”
Leonardo scoffed and waved a hand dismissively. “Potato potahto! Tomato tomatoh! Shredder, Giant Metal Ball of Doom! What’s the difference?”
Michelangelo didn't answer.
“The only one I can think of is that Shredder was waaaay scarier!”
“Oh really?”
Both turtles froze at the new voice. Leonardo gently placed his brother down, keeping an arm still wrapped around him to keep them both close.
“Well? What are you waiting for?” The new voice laughed in a mocking, wheezing tone, “Turn around.”
Leonardo could see no other option other than to obey. He gave Michelangelo a reassuring pat and held his brother just a little tighter before turning to face whoever it was that had called out to them.
The creature was big, a body near as broad as Raphael’s carapace and a shape that was loosely spherical. It’s entire body gleamed with a layer of slime that oozed out from folds on the sides of it’s head, and every so often a tentacle would reach up to gather the accumulating mucus and spread it throughout its body to keep itself moist. There was a crown on its head, a ridge higher than the rest of its body that slightly resembled the crown of certain dinosaurs. Leonardo could almost swear that whatever it was, was the brain of some massive creature, escaped from its body to do whatever it is that giant, tentacle-having brains do.
“Well?” The creature stroked feelers on it’s face, what could pass as lips parting to reveal tiny, dolphin-like teeth.
Leonardo only allowed himself enough time to blink before he forced his smile to come back and meet the strangers smirk. “Well what?”
The creature lunged forward, supported by pipes that extended out from the misproportioned battle suit, bringing it within inches of touching Leonardo. “Aren’t you scared?”
“Scared of what? A chewed up wad of bubble gum that gained sentience?”
It growled and one of its tentacles came down upon Leonardo, covering him in the thick, viscous coating of it’s body.
“Oh I’m sorry! Did I get some slime on you?”
Leonardo didn't flinch. He reached out a hand and poked the creature on the nose. “It is not slime, it is mucus!”
It growled and swatted Leonardo before pulling back again closer to its suit. “Who said you could touch me with your foul, disease-ridden hands?!”
“Hey hey hey!” Leonardo threw his hands up in surrender, “I bathe regularly! It’s Raphael you gotta look out for.”
“You think you’re funny, do you?” It squinted its eye at Leonardo.
“I think I’m adorable. Don’t you?” Leonardo put his hands under his chin and batted his eyes.
“I think you’re an obnoxious freak of nature.” It tried to draw forth a violent reaction, but Leonardo remained cool.
“Eh, aren’t we all?” Leonardo shrugged, “But this obnoxious freak of nature has a name. Do you?”
The creature seemed to consider Leonardo’s question for a moment before saying, “It’s Krang.”
Leonardo snickered.
“What?” Krang snapped, almost defensively, “What’s so funny?”
“Sorry— sorry!” Leonardo almost keeled over laughing.
“What’s so funny— what’s so funny, it’s just my name!”
“It’s just— ahahaha— did your mom hate you or something?”
Michelangelo started to finally get in on the laughing, and soon both brothers were almost falling over.
“I chose my own name— the Queen doesn’t have time to name all of us!” Krang defended, grunting as its features scrunched up.
“So you’re saying you have a face not even a mother could love?” Leonardo smirked, recovering from his laughter at will. “Man, that is depressing!”
“ENOUGH!” Krang shot two wired pipes forward to grab Michelangelo and Leonardo, squeezing them harshly. “Now you listen here, little turtles! I am not in the mood for games.” It’s eyes glanced between the brothers in an almost alien way, “And if all you’re going to do is play with me, then I’m going to put you away in my toybox.”
“Sounds fun!” Michelangelo piped.
“Fun?” Krang shifted to look at Michelangelo.
“Yeah! In a big box with a whole bunch of other people, having slumber parties every night!” Michelangelo hummed and sighed.
“Well, I’m glad you’re going to enjoy yourself. It’s an extended stay.”
Krang shifted slightly, its armor suit slow and topheavy, and at the press of a button on the suit the floor began to open up and reveal a spiraling display case. Rows upon rows of small, frozen containers. A thick layer of frosty smoke escaped through the opening and filtered out through vents. Krang hung the two brothers over the drop and loosened his grip just to feel the fear of his prisoners. Looking down into the endless abyss of bodies distorted by frost and age, Leonardo felt a sense of vertigo overtake him. It seemed Krang latched onto the fear almost immediately, judging by the evil expression on its face.
“Not so eager to visit the other toys now, are you?” Krang laughed and pulled Michelangelo and Leonardo back over solid ground, putting them down as the ground closed once more. “Now maybe you’ll play nicely.”
“Where are my brothers?” Leonardo demanded, “My family?”
“They’re fine. They were spit out somewhere or other. Does it really matter?”
“Yes.” Leonardo snarled.
“Hmm…” Krang rubbed their folds in concentration, “Then why don’t we make a deal, little turtle?”
“What kinda deal?” Leonardo returned to hugging his brother as Michelangelo cowered against him.
“I didn't just call you here to chat.”
“Well you’re sure doing a lot of talking anyway.” Leonardo grumbled under his breath.
“I brought you here for a far more important reason.” It folded its tentacles over its mouth.
“Care to share with the class?”
Krang huffed. “You have something that interests me— or more like had. You see, a year ago today I tried to take over the earth.”
Leonardo laughed. “Didn't do a good job— you didn't even make the news! I’m sure I would know if there was a broadcast about a giant brain in a robot suit tried to take over the planet.”
“Not your earth. A different earth.”
“There’s more than one?” Michelangelo asked.
“Oh, there is a plethora of earths, all slightly different from the last! But yours… intrigues me. It’s one of the more recent ones, and the use of your ‘mystic magic’ caught my attention.” Krang circled Leonardo like a cat with a mouse, “The way you teleport around with such ease, even without a beacon to guide you~”
“Spit it out, Gellatinous, I haven’t got all day.”
“You’re very impatient for someone whose at the mercy of one far smarter.”
“Eh, I can handle Donnie, but that has nothing to do with this.” Leonardo snarked off, “What do you want?”
“I have you, and I have your family, and I have your sword.”
“Great. And what does that have to do with the price of jelly doughnuts?”
“I want you to show me how to use the magic you possess, and afterwards I will let you and your brothers go back on your merry way!”
“I thought you were all knowing or whatever.”
“I never claimed that. I too need to learn like every creature does.”
“How do we know you’re not lying about letting us go?” Michelangelo pouted, sticking out his lip.
“Do I look like the lying type to you?”
“Yes.” Michelangelo and Leonardo said as one.
“Mm. Clever boys. Well, the answer is that you don’t know. But you don’t really have many choices either.”
“Mm. Fair.” Leonardo shrugged. “Whatchu need me to show you?”
“How to activate the rift that you’ve seemed to master.” Krang tapped its tentacles together.
“Oh that’s easy! You just take the sword and go woosh woosh,” Leonardo made vague gesture, “Then it goes all whoooooo whaaaaa bwaaaaa!” He made a motion of a rift opening. “Then you go all ‘take me so and so’ and badda bing badda boom, you’re done! That work?” Leonardo clicked his tongue and wink.
“What.” Krang narrowed his eyes.
“Well, you take the pointy part and go whish woosh, then slish slash, hundred yard dash, and you’re in Paris!”
“I— I don’t understand what you’re saying!”
“Well you take the thing and do the thing so it makes a thing then you go through the thing and bam: the thing is done! Take a break and get yourself a pizza for your hard work.”
“You’re getting on my nerves.”
“Exactly how many nerves does a brain have anyway?”
“I’M NOT A BRAIN I’M AN UTROM!”
“A who-trom?” Michelangelo tilted his head.
“AN UTROM!”
“You-tron?” Leonardo asked with a smirk.
“GRRR— just show me how to do it!” Krang pulled Leonardo’s sword out of thin air and dropped it into Leonardo’s hands. “And don’t think you can outsmart me!”
“Wouldn’t dream of it, K-Pop.” Leonardo took the sword and pointed it, dragging it to make a circle. His face illuminated the glow and he smiled.
“Yes!” Krang cheered, smilingly widely and holding out its tentacles to Leonardo. “Give it to me!”
“Yeeeeah, no.” Leonardo stared a moment and then winked before stepping through the blue and disappearing along with the mystic portal.
“NO!” Krang launched himself forward and grabbed at the space where the turtles had once been, “GET BACK HERE!”

Super Squid! Flying Marvels of the Natural World
Look up in the sky—it’s a bird! No, a plane! It’s…it’s…a squid?!  Most people wouldn’t expect a squid to fly, but truth is sometimes stranger than comic book fiction. The natural world is full of wonderful surprises, including many creatures that seemingly have no business being airborne. They can live in very different habitats, ranging from beneath the ocean waves to high up in the tree tops of a rainforest. Yet all these animals have expertly managed to adapt to their environments and utilize flight as a successful survival tool.
Flying Mammals
Wouldn’t it be a strange world if mice and rats could fly? Besides being a housecat’s worst nightmare, this notion also seems unbelievable. But out in the amazing world of wildlife, this isn’t so far from the truth! Gliding mammals can be found around the globe, from the tiniest of these arboreal aerialists, the Mighty-Mouse-sized Feathertail Glider, which lives in Australia, to the largest, the 16-inch-long Colugo, sailing through the tree tops of the rainforests of South East Asia.
The Southern Flying Squirrel (also called the assapan) measures 10 inches long from nose to tail and covers a wide range of the eastern side of North America. It lives in the deciduous forests that stretch from Southeast Canada to Florida. Their habitat is like that of the Gray Squirrel, but we often don’t see them because they’re nocturnal.
Tumblr media
These squirrels are nocturnal, and eat a variety of fruits, nuts, insects, spiders, flowers, and seeds. They’ll also eat bird eggs and gastropods like snails and slugs!
Flying squirrels, like all gliding mammals, has specialized flight gear that enables it to take to the skies. This unique flying tool is called a patagium, which is a stretchy cape of loose skin that starts at their wrists, extends along their body, and attaches at their ankles. To become airborne, they usually like to take a running start from a tree top. But they can also take off from a stationary jumping point by pulling in their limbs and head close to their body. Then, like releasing energy from a coiled spring, they push off and propel into the air. Once they’re in the air, they stretch out their arms and legs to create an “X” shape with their body. This causes their patagium to billow up and stretch into a square shape. This allows them to turn into furry little pilots, expertly maneuvering around obstacles and trees. They can even manage to make last- second, hair-raising 90-degree turns!
When preparing to land, they raise up their flattened tail, which acts like the stabilizer on a kite or airplane. This allows them to adjust their trajectory and hone in on their landing site. By pulling their limbs in front of them, the squirrel’s patagium transforms into a parachute and slows them down when they reach the limb of their choice. Although they’re clumsy walkers because of their patagium, the Southern Flying Squirrel’s ability to glide is an effective adaptation for traveling long distances, and a great tactic for evading predators.
Flying Reptiles
It’s not just mammals that can sail through the wild blue yonder; reptiles have their superhero moments, too. When you think of a flying reptile, the first thing that might come to mind is a menacing winged serpent or dragon out of some mythical Medieval legend. But these captivating creatures don’t just live in the land of fairytales—they inhabit our world, too. The Draco Lizard, also called the Flying Dragon, makes its home in the jungles of Southeast Asia and Southern India. Measuring a mere 8 inches from head to tail, it’s astounding that they can fly through the forest for up to 100 feet! They accomplish this by using folds of skin that rest against their body. When unfurled, this skin acts as wings. This tiny “dragon” can travel quickly from tree to tree using their wings for lift and their long, slender tail for steering. Their airborne expediency is very useful for avoiding danger, finding mates, and tracking down meals.
Tumblr media
You wouldn’t think this little lizard could be airborne, but they can glide distances up to 10 times their body length!
Another gliding reptile is the nocturnal Flying Gecko, which lives in the tropical forests of Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. Measuring up to 8 inches, they can fly for up to 200 feet! They have special webbing that surrounds their neck, limbs, feet, trunk, and rudder-like tail. When the gecko stretches itself out, this webbing acts as flaps that create surface area and generate lift.
Lastly, there is one brave reptile that seems to break all the rules of flight and aerodynamics. It’s the flying snake. There are currently five recognized species, and they range from Western India to Indonesia. Scientists are not quite sure why snakes fly. Maybe it’s to escape predators, hunt prey, or quickly move from tree to tree. Whatever their reasons, it is an amazing sight to see. The Paradise Tree Snake of Southeast Asia will slither to the end of a branch, dangle in a J shape, then spring off using the lower half of its body. Then they use the speed of free fall to fly. In midair, it flattens its body into a concave “C” shape to trap air and provide lift. As it glides, it undulates side to side in an “S” shape. This action increases stabilization so that it can cover more horizontal distance. No other gliding animal maintains stability like this. At just 4 feet long, the Paradise Tree Snake can fly for up to 330 feet! It’s quite an achievement for a reptile with no legs or wings.
Flying Sea Life
Most people think that dolphins and whales are the only aquatic acrobats of the animal world. But there are many other sea creatures that peek above the ocean waves from time to time. Perhaps you’ve heard of the flying fish. There are 40 known species that inhabit the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. Their streamlined, torpedo-shaped bodies can be as long as 18 inches. They’ll rapidly beat their forked tails to break the water’s surface and propel themselves through the air at 35 miles per hour. Using their unusually large pectoral fins as wings, they can glide for up to 655 feet before re-entering the water. It’s an astonishing feat that seems incomparable, but there has been a recent discovery of another flying marvel of the seas…Super Squid! All joking aside, this mollusk is called a flying squid. Scientists think that there are possibly dozens of species of squid that can fly, some of which are the Neon Flying Squid, the Orangeback Squid, and the Argentine Shortfin Squid.
Tumblr media
Although there are several different species of flying squid, they most likely all evolved their mantles and funnels similarly for the most effective speed and aerodynamics when airborne.
A flying squid launches itself out of the water like a rocket by using its mantle and funnel. A mantle is a cloak of soft, muscular tissue that surrounds its body. When the squid contracts its mantle, it sends water shooting through the funnel, a tube below its head. It blasts out of the water like a jet and can travel as far as 100 feet in 3 seconds and fly as high as 10 feet above the water’s surface! It glides by spreading out its fins and flapping. But it also forms wings by spreading out its tentacles in a radial pattern. A membrane between their tentacles enables them to catch air, and this creates lift. Upon re-entry into the water, the squid folds back its fins and dives under the waves. Scientists have observed groups of over twenty squid flying together, and they’ve noticed that the squid don’t just glide passively. They change posture based on their distance from the water and their phase of flight. Scientists also think, more than likely, squids fly as a defense method for predatory escape.
So, the next time you’re outdoors, take a moment to look up into the sky and imagine seeing a snake, a squirrel, a lizard, or a squid sailing high above your head. It’s seems utterly inconceivable, but these amazing animals really do exist. And no, none of them wear a little red cape and have an “S” on their chest. And they’re not able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. But that doesn’t make their gravity-defying feats of flight any less super.

Undertow pt 2
(Artwork by @warrior-kitty special thanks to @gemellath
(This story is rated PG-13 for content. You have been warned)
Kit drove to Coin’s house that morning and picked up the jackelope chugging a bottle of water.
“Man, it’s hot!” he shouted.
“Hop in!” she told him. “Today is going to be crowded and you know it.”
Both of them knew that the beach would be crowded that day, but Kit was running late after not being able to find important things such as the umbrella, chairs, and sunscreen. Now that it was already late morning, they knew it was going to be hell to find just one parking spot but were unprepared for a bigger problem on their hands.
“Hey Kit” Coin said nervously. “Umm…I need to use the bathroom…”
“Hold on we’ll get a spo-“
Kit was cut off when she saw that the line for beach parking was a mile away from the beach.
“Oh no…Try to hold it in.”
However, they reached a parking lot and saw it was completely full.
“Alright then, let’s go to the other one…” Kit sheepishly stated.
“Man I gotta go like…badly…”
However, each and every lot was stuffed to the brim, and with each passing moment, Coin’s bladder was getting fuller and fuller until Coin was in excruciating pain with no end in sight with the traffic getting larger and slower. After the tenth parking lot, Coin was screaming and ran out of car.
“Go in the palm bushes!” Screamed Kit, panicking.
“There are families everywhere!” the jackelope barked back. However, a sign pointed to the beach bar they usually went to, prompting Coin to speed walk across the costal parkway with the honking cars blaring their horns. He tried to walk faster but was moaning in such pain he couldn’t even run without feeling the sharp pain on his bladder.
Roxie, meanwhile, was eating a bag of chips during her “bathroom break”. She had just dealt with cleaning up after a horrible rescue when she heard someone enter the men’s room in a rush. After a while the person did his business, washed his hands then sneezed.
“Crap! Forgot there’s pollen everywhere!”
The dispenser was out of paper towels, so he tried to enter the stall. Roxie in shock dropped the chips onto the ground.
“Oh, come on! Who eats chips in the bathroom?! And why in the men’s room of all places?”
“No one expects me to be here.”
“Hey wait a minute! GET OUT HERE!”
Roxie feared it was her boss, so she stepped outside, only to see her bandmate.
“Roxie…again?”
“I got hungry.”
“Its 11:30 you can wait. Plus, tomorrow is your day off to celebrate so don’t blow it.”
Coin guided Roxie back to the lifeguard chair where Harry was sitting.
“Oh thank God. It was much shorter…” he happily sighed.
“Hi Harry! How’s work today?”
“For me it’s fine. Roxie however just had a shitty rescue, which is why she was allowed on a break…”
Coin was puzzled. “What happened?”
Roxie closed her eyes.
“Another man was attacked by some octopi thingies and nearly drowned because they tried to force this seaweed into his mouth underwater. He projectile vomited all over me, so my boss made me take a shower…with a hose…on jet setting…”
“We’ve been seeing a string of these lately and the Dolphin Division of the police department is on strong patrol right now, so try to stay safe.”
Coin set his towel and chair down, texting Kit to meet him by the bar. After a long half hour, Kit finally showed up.
“Hey Coin!” Kit said from nearby “I found a spot by paying this guy money!”
“That’s great!” Coin shouted as he went over. “Want me to help you set up?”
After taking another half hour of bickering and arguing the umbrella was properly set up. They had put on sunscreen, and laid down their beach towels, so now both of them were basking on the beach immersed in their sunny naps. Nearby a small disturbance in the sand was kicking it all up and creating a path. It scurried under Coin’s stomach, shaking him awake by the disturbance. He looked around but couldn’t see a thing.
“Hey Kit…”
“Yea?”
“You feel that?”
“No. Probably a crab.”
However, Kit felt something try to jump up from under her back. She lifted her towel to see nothing was oddly there.
Behind the cooler a certain little mouse in a red prison outfit popped out of the sand. Rio climbed into the cooler and grabbed some ice cubes with a devious smirk on her face. She walked over to Coin, opened up his trunks, dumped the ice down, and watched him freak out.
“Whats going on here?” an annoyed Kit said to Coin.
Soon she also felt something pull on her suit, and ice was poured down her back. Bystanders looked to see who in the world were these two dancing clowns.
“Who did this?” Coin demanded.
“You thought it was ice, but it WAS ME! RIO!” Rio shouted jumping onto her perch.
“RIO?!” Coin shouted. “You busted out of prison?!”
“You’re not going to report me, are you?”
“No” Kit said, a bit disappointed in her. “But you’ll need to get out of that prisoner outfit. Hide in our bag and stay in there until we get back.”
“Hey guys!” D’Arcy greeted. “What can I get you two?”
“Hello D’Arcy!” Coin replied. “You are doing okay?”
“Other than going through the trauma of that e-mail sent to me…I guess I’m fine.”
“We’d like mouse-sizes for a t-shirt, shorts and swimsuit for Rio please.” Kit ordered.
“Didn’t she get arrested?” D’Arcy asked confused.
“Yea but it’s a gift for her anyway.”
“Oh ok.”
They paid and collected their bag of tiny clothing, with the jersey devil looking nervously at another clothing stand.
“Why does she keep vanishing...?”
“Who?” Coin questioned.
“Jill...” D’Arcy murmured. “She was a classmate at fashion school. Typical brainless spoiled brat if you ask me. She’s a sea serpent who almost got me expelled many times and always got away with it. She works the stand over there.”
“Is she someone we should worry about?” Coin said. “Maybe she sent the threat.
“Probably not, but she’s been going back and forth quite a lot through that pop-up store… anyways, I’ll see you two later, we’re holding up the line a bit…”
Now Linneaus was complete again and relaxing on the shore, sunbathing and enjoying the environment. However, that was all about to change, when Coin and Rio heard lovely sounding voices and giggling. They shook themselves up to see an elk jackelope wearing a mustard bikini standing above them.
“Hey there…” the jackelope girl said. “My name is Penny…”
Coin was so transfixed on her body, especially her blue eyes, that his eyes turned to hearts and with his antlers turning pink as well.
“Man, what a woman…” he said to himself. “I’m…Coin…”
“LOL SO COOL! And who is your mousy friend?” Penny teased. “I have one too~…”
Crawling from up her back, a fit and strong harvest mouse in purple trunks climbed up the antlers.
“You summoned dearest Rhine?!” he declared.
Rio was immediately smitten with feelings for him and his beautiful build with her face turning a bright shade of pink.
“Rio here!” she said. “It’s…a pleasure…”
Kit looked over and wondered why they were so instantly crushed. She brushed it off and turned on her music before taking a nap.
“We were wondering if you two would like to play volley ball with us…” Penny declared. “Mice vs Jackelopes?”
“S-Sure…”
“Hell Yeah!” Rhine shouted.
“Good…good…” a voice whispered from under the sea. “Bring them to me my creations…”
Meanwhile Kit felt her stomach rumble. Not paying attention to her friends, she opened the cooler and obtained her calzone. She heated it up using the sunlight and decided to sunbathe while she ate her lunch.
Her friends could barely contain themselves playing volleyball with the shady but sexy duo. Harry could only watch in sadness towards Coin as he and Rio couldn’t even play the game properly they were so unfocused.
“Hey Harold.” Roxie blurted. “Why are you staring so hard at Coin? He’s in love…”
“It’s just that it seems hopeless…He and his mouse friend just won’t look away from them.”
“Oh?! Like I didn’t catch you thirsty for D’Arcy’s ass again today!” Roxie exclaimed.
“She doesn’t tease me!” Harry yelled. “I go crazy for D’Arcy because I actually fucking like her no matter what!”
“Glad to hear you admit it…
“But look at Coin and that broad he’s with!” he pointed. He watched Penny shake her tail at Coin, then saw Rhine flex for Rio, both of them absolutely paralyzed by their feeling “They’re baiting them with looks! First off, I’ve been with women that do this, and second, it’s our job to stop what could be potential sirens! With the attacks going on I can’t risk losing anyone!”
“You really think that those two are sirens?!” Roxie said. “Lookie here, just because you can’t have a girlfriend or boyfriend doesn’t mean you have to tear others down…”
Harry wondered if Roxie was right, and both took their positions without saying another word.
Rio hit the ball and got spiked by Penny in the face, knocking her down.
“Winner!” she yelled, hugging a shocked Coin, surprised he won but also scared for Rio.
“Shouldn’t we check on-?”
“I think she’s fine…Rhine is looking after her!”
<<Oh, mon petite fleur!>> Rhine ran over. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah…I’m good.”
“See she’s fine!” Penny said.
“You know…I like you…”
Coin blushed. “Same here.”
“You and I will be boyfriend and girlfriend forever…”
They both pulled closer together until they shared a kiss, but suddenly Coin’s mouth was stuck to her’s, and seaweed was pouring into his mouth.
Rio, seeing Coin struggling, kicked Rhine, revealing himself to be a siren along with Penny. The siren kissing Coin let go and wrapped its tentacles around him. Rio ran towards the beach patrol screaming. Roxie sounded the alarm to get everyone away from the area as Harry ran over and tried to wrestle Coin free, only for the siren to toss him into a sandcastle as the beachgoers quickly ran out of the way. The dolphin P.D quickly swam close to the shore in order to wall the sirens off. The one pretending to be Rhine was caught trying to escape.
“This is lovely…” Kit said, eating her calzone, unaware of the chaos around her.
D’Arcy was just taking a photo with a fan when it happened. She swooped over until she found Roxie and Harry.
“What’s going on?!” she screamed.
“Coin’s being taken by a siren!” Harry screamed.
D’Arcy saw it swimming and trying to bring the struggling jackelope deep into the ocean. She flew over, kicking the temptress with her hooves.
The siren responded with using Coin as a weapon, trying to jab his antlers into her skin, but failed since she was impervious to pain.
“Sorry Coin!” she said before stomping his face.
“You aight…”
Now the dragon goat’s eyes gleamed red with rage, inflicting a curse on the siren. She summoned up her fire breath and torched the creature. Now distracted, D’Arcy dove in and tried to pull her friend to safety, but she wasn’t expecting the creature to splash water, blinding her. The siren threw Coin over the line of dolphins, who breached in an attempt to catch him. However, a serpent circled up from under them and caught the rabbit deer.
“Hey D’Arcy!” Jill screamed. “Remember me?!”
“Unhand him! NOW!”
“Love to talk D’Arcy, but I gotta work!”
The police dove down to catch the serpent but were unprepared for the brigade of sea creatures blocking them and sacrificing arrest. They could only watch as the poor jackelope was taken away.
“We want all fishing boats on alert!” the dolphin captain said. “Scuba divers, scientists, anyone! Suspect is a sea serpent with blue hair, nose ring, Che Guevara shirt…”
After the commotion had died down, Kit was still sleeping with sauce stains on her suit and fur, with the half-eaten calzone on her side. Her earbuds were ripped off and a large hooved slap woke her up.
“Hungh?” she groaned.
Roxie was standing above her with a stern look of anger.
“Coin was kidnapped by a sea serpent and you slept through it!” the rougarou yelled, eating Kit’s calzone.
“What?” Kit asked confused.
D’Arcy swooped down, red eyes glaring.
“He was taken to the bottom of the ocean…I should curse you, you ignorant vulpine!”
Kit’s guilt transformed her into Granny as she pondered what to do next...
“Can-can’t we go down there and save him?”
“We’d have to come up with a plan.” D’Arcy replied.
“I’ll see if we can get our set moved to tomorrow.” Harry interrupted.
“But Coin!” the snail-fox yelled. “He’s in danger.”
“Don’t worry about it.” D’Arcy comforted. Tomorrow morning, me and the girls are going to try and save him. The sun is starting to set so it’s probably best if we just go home for now.”
Even after being back to normal Kit still felt upset lying in bed. She knew that if anything else happened, she would have to do something to save her friend. She just didn’t know what to do.

(Well, long story short I started writing a little headcanon about one of your OCs and like last time, it kinda spiraled into a full fledged fanfic. Really not sure what to do with this, so I figured why not post it here, if only to see how much I got right. Anyways, enjoy.)
                                                    .   .   .
Ever since she was little, she knew something was wrong with her. Mama always insisted otherwise, that she was fine the way she was, and the others never made a fuss about her, but she could tell from the way they looked at her they thought she was a freak. From the way her eyes glowed green in the dark to her too pointy teeth to her too long tail; dark grey with fins sprouting all over the sides, instead of the triangle fin at the tip of the other mermaid’s tails, there was nothing normal about her.
She had a twin, once. A twin she had eaten in the womb. The matriarch had insisted there was nothing odd about that- these things happened sometimes- but she knew the others whispered about it behind her back. And her twin wasn’t entirely gone, either. Sometimes, her twin’s ghost whispered in her ear. You’re a demon, she would hiss, a depraved monster who ate her own sister. Why don’t you eat your own mother while you’re at it?
That was the hunger. She could feel it, always, deep in her stomach, gnawing at the edges, crying, demanding FOOD. A demon, the matriarch insisted, but one that could be forced out. So it came she was fed only jellyfish, kelp, and sometimes, bitter concoctions that would make her cough up all the contents of her belly. Mama promised it would make her better, that she would be cured. Mostly, though, it made her feel weak, and confused. Why couldn’t she eat fish like the others? Yet even without food, as years passed she grew longer, her body stretched thinner and thinner with each passing day.
But worse was when the others came after Mama, blaming her for infidelity and other sins she was too little to understand. She would yell at them to stop, but even her own Mother demanded she stay out of things while the grown-ups screamed at each other.
It wasn’t all bad, at least. There was Mama, who sang lullabies and told stories of the Papa she never met. Mama who made her a belt of sea silk and shark teeth while assuring her that she was wonderful as she was. Mama, who always hugged her when she was scared and pulled her along when she was too exhausted to swim.
There was also, at times, flotsam. She loved looking through the strange wooden debris as it bobbed across the surface of the ocean, heading for an unknown destination. It would always be covered in strange barnacles, snails, and other hard shelled things she would try to collect, only to forget about later. If she was lucky, there would be things clambering across the top, too: brown hairy creatures with no fins and long tails, scaly green things that licked the air with forked tongues, and the things Mama called BIRDS!, which came in so many beautiful shapes and colors. These discoveries would always lead into tales from Mama about the things that lived out of the water, which were always her favorites because they were always, so odd, so strange, so DIFFERENT from her life of following currents across the ocean, even if she was certain Mama made them up.
The end began when Mama had a second baby. A precious little merboy with inky black hair, just like hers. A new baby for Mama to sing lullabies and tell stories too. A new baby for Mama to adore. One without a demon inside them. From that day forward, she swam a little further away from Mama, so she didn’t think of eating him, too.
Then came the fateful day her pod discovered a sunken ship. One by one the mermaid’s lithe bodies slipped through a crack in the ship’s hull, entering dark rooms coated in grime. The pod huddled together, weary. But her? She was FASINATED. What creatures had made this thing? Where did they live they? Did they have tails, like them? Or have hands where their tails should be, like the fuzzy things she’d seen on the driftwood? What did they eat? What were their families like? An older mermaid shushed her up real quick, saying they were to get a few important items, then GO. She nodded, but did not stop staring at everything they came across, until at last they reached a room the Matriarch referred to as the ‘Captain’s Quarters’. The mermaids ransacked the place, grabbing any seemingly useful thing they came across and jamming them into makeshift bags made of discarded shark eggs. But while the other mermaids made themselves busy, she sensed something… off. At first she thought it was just her- that sunken ships always felt this way, but then she smelled something odd, something… tasty. The walls of the room shimmered, revealing the largest octopus she had ever seen. The beast unfurled its’ tentacles, forcing the terrified pod into a corner, save one terrified individual who, trapped in the vice grip of a meaty red tentacle, found herself being drawn towards the beast’s massive beaked mouth. But while the others stared terrified, with a burst of speed she didn’t even know she had, LUNGED at the befuddled cephalopod, gripped the tentacle holding her podmate, and.. bit down. Later, the others would recount how they had seen a ten year old start ripping chunks out of the giant octopus with her teeth and swallowing them whole until, bewildered by this turn of events, the would be-monster had fled into the ocean. For her part, she mostly remembered the taste: a chewy and meaty texture, satisfying to bite into, with a clean, savory flavor. Afterward, she’d felt a soft, warm sensation radiating from her belly. So THIS was what feeling full felt like!
Victory, however, was short lived. From that day forward the rest of the pod kept a great deal of space between her and them, even the mermaid she’d rescued. Despite this, the Matriarch monitored her relentlessly, ensuring she only ate jellyfish and kelp. It was strange, really: even as they starved her, her tail grew longer and longer, her body thinner and thinner until, from head to fin tip, she was a full foot longer than Mama.
Face it freak, her sister whispered, there’s no place for you here. Best head out before Mama ends up in that belly of yours. And under the cover of night, that’s exactly what she did.
.   .   .
So began a life of following the rich, fragrant smell of fish, travelling from island to island after vast silver schools, getting just enough energy to keep her going. She had mixed feelings about her predicament: on one hand, it was nice to be away from the judging eyes of her pod; never accidentally hurting someone she loved. And she liked travelling from island to island, seeing all the strange creatures she never would have seen if she’d just stayed with the pod: slugs the colors of rainbows, fish that jumped out of the water when she got too close, sharks with too long tails, just like hers, they snapped to stun their prey. Those were exciting.
But on the other, catching fish was much more difficult on her own than she had imagined. They were just so fast! It took all her energy just to snatch the tiniest morsel, and by then she’d be so exhausted she couldn’t hunt until the next day. At those times she’d sleep free floating with one eye open, so sharks couldn’t get her. There she would stay until her hunger woke her up again. Sometimes, a passing pod of dolphins would offer her something to eat, but their pity stung.
That all changed the day she found the sea turtle. The scent of mackerel had brought her right into a cloud of jellyfish, and as much as the things brought up bad memories, she was really in no condition to pass up a free, slow moving meal. Neither, it seemed, was the largest sea turtle she had ever seen. First she saw the head, easily big as her torso and wrinkled with age. Enormous black eyes gazed at nothing as it casually munched on jellyfish. Then the rest of the body revealed itself as it parted the cloud with massive gray flippers covered in large, stony scales. From these she carefully swam away from, lest a stray paddle accidentally shatter her bones. At first, she marveled at it- the thing must have been ancient! - and before long an idea popped into her head. Grabbing onto its’ barnacle coated shell, she consigned to letting the giant take her wherever it went. Tired, she let out a yawn, drifting with a barnacle grasped firmly in her hand.
.   .   .
She awoke to a very familiar, irresistible smell.
Octopus! Her stomach rumbled from the memory. Parting from the turtle, she sped off in the direction of the scent, licking her lips at the thought of her meal-to-be-! But she didn’t quite expect a school of some of the oddest things she had ever seen. Not octopus at all, but squid. They had tentacles, but these were short and close to the head. Bad for grabbing things (thank goodness) though opening and closing them seemed to move them through the water. And on top of their heads, they had a long, conical shell, perfect for cutting through the water. Or anything foolish enough to stand in their path, no doubt. Carefully, she navigated around the school, until she was directly behind one. With a kick of her tail, she lunged-
Only for the creature to shut its’ tentacles, darting away-
Right into the open maw of an even stranger creature.
When she saw it, her breath caught in her throat. They were in the open ocean! How could something so massive stay hidden?! Like a whale, it had smooth grey skin with a white belly and a long, sinuous body that ribboned up and down as it swam, like an eel’s. Opening a mouth of curved fangs (just like hers!) it bit down on the octopus-thing’s shell, shattering it into a thousand pieces. At the sound the rest of the shelled squids darted out into the ocean.
Great.
It wasn’t long before the whale-eel, sated by its’ meal, turned its’ attention to the strange intruder on its’ territory. She took the hint, swimming in the opposite direction of the beast as fast as she could go. Not fast, enough, apparently, because five seconds later the beast was ribboning after her, open jaws drawing incredibly close incredibly fast. She forced her long tail up and down as hard as it could go, but it wasn’t enough: the whale-eel was gaining. But desperation has a funny way of breeding ideas, and this moment was no different. Looking at the surface, she recalled the strange fish she had seen on her journey. With one final kick of her tail fin, she broke the surface of the water and launched into the air! Her heart beat quickly as, for the first time in her life, she felt the strange sensation of air on her skin. More importantly, though, she could see an island ahead of her, covered in lush jungle with mountains toward its’ center. And where an island was, there was bound to be shallow water. Too shallow for something the size of the whale-eel. Plunging back into the deep, she breached the surface, keeping up her momentum until, at last, the island loomed over her, vast and mysterious. But it wasn’t until she was nearly on the beach she finally checked behind her to find the whale-eel, thankfully, nowhere in sight.
She should have felt safe. She should have felt relief. But mostly she just felt exhausted. Exhausted, and hungry. With what little strength she had left, she swam across the shallows, trying to sense something moving through the sand.
.   .   .
For once, luck was on her side. Granted, the thing she uncovered scuttling beneath the sand- a flat oval with far too many eggs underneath- didn’t have much of the way of meat, but food was food, and there were more than plenty of them scuttling just beneath the sand. Now that there was food in her belly, and no danger in sight, she could let her situation sink in. Or rather, her sister.
So here you are, in an island full of ravenous monsters. Maybe one will eat you. Wouldn’t that be fitting?
She tried so swim, which usually helped her shake off bad thoughts, but these were firmly lodged in the back of her head.
Then again, better you get eaten than you hurt someone else.
But at the same time, she couldn’t just hide out in the tidal zone, she couldn’t just hide out in the surf scavenging for oval shaped crab-things forever. And so what if she died? Not like anyone would miss her. Which is how she found herself just a few days later, tepidly swimming back where she had come. The squids with shells were long gone, in their place a school of fishes whose heads seemed to be covered in hard bony plates she’d never seen before. They brushed past her, indifferent. Tailing them, she thought back to the squids, recalling their strange shells, and the odd crabs she had eaten near the shore. Seemed armor was a popular thing in these parts. Though considering what kinds of things they shared the sea with, it wasn’t hard to imagine why.
Speaking of the devil, surely enough the whale-eel couldn’t resist such a tasty looking school, and burst in, this time from the side to snare a hapless fish, biting down until it ceased struggling and then swallowing it whole. Part of her wondered what it must have tasted like, but at the moment she had bigger priorities. She screamed, and at first the beast ignored her, almost deliberately so. For better or worse, it didn’t. Soon they were squared off: on one side, a sharp toothed mermaid with an unusually long tail. On the other, an impossibly long killing machine that could easily shatter every bone in her body with a single flick of one of its’ flippers.
And they weren’t alone. From behind the mother happily swam another whale-eel, maybe a quarter a size of the other, staring with round, black eyes.
Her heart sunk. Mama.
The mother whale-eel tried to push her curious child away, to no avail. After all, who could resist the strange new potential playmate that had just come into the area? Of course, her mission had just become that much more complicated. It was one thing to face a monster, it was another to face her knowing she was a mama just looking after her baby. The scene was enough to make her consider going back to the seashore, when she noticed something rocketing out of the ocean depths. Like the whale-eel, it had flippers, a long tail; a pointed head full of teeth. But whereas the whale-eels were long and thin with smooth skin, this thing was covered in scales and absolutely massive. So much she felt herself being pushed upward by its’ movement. And it was headed right for the baby. Without a moment’s hesitation, she lunged for the baby, pushing the bewildered thing out of the path of danger. Once she slowed, she released the young whale-eel, who swam, panic-driven, away. Mama was nowhere to be seen. As for herself, she felt the glare of two baleful yellow eyes on her back, turning around just in time for the scaly monster to lunge again. But whereas she had qualms attacking a mother, she had no issues attacking a child hurting demon from the deep.
You’re a monster. Might as well act like it.
She charged the demon, stopping just before its’ wide, hungry jaws. Then, with breakneck timing, she spun around, flicking her long tail with a Snap! Right in the creature’s eye. An ocean-shaking howl rang out of the demon’s throat as she gripped its’ massive, muscular neck and bit down. HARD. The meat was too tendony and firm for her liking, breaking a few of her teeth, but she got her desired effect: blood seeping into the water.
Just like that, the energy left her body. It shouldn’t have been surprising, really, with how little food she’d been getting compared to how much energy she’d been using. Getting worn out was inevitable. And what better way to get worn out than by becoming part of the food chain? The last thing she felt before going unconscious was something powerful pushing against her.
.   .   .
When she awoke, it was to the pleasant realization she wasn’t dead. Rather, she was being nuzzled by the very same baby whale-eel she had rescued earlier. Shoving its’ poking face away, she found herself riding on the back of none other than the mother. Somehow, the beast had carried her away from the scaly demon, into yet another strange school of creatures. They were not unlike the shelled squids, but their ridged shells coiled into a tight spiral rather than pointing forward. Her rescuer tossed her a dead one, its’ shell crushed by massive jaws, which she eagerly inhaled, the soft flesh sliding smoothly down her throat and into her belly. Sated, she clung to the back of the Mother whale-eel as it took her to the shallower waters on the coast of the island, where she’d (probably) be safe and sound. Letting go, she felt almost… sad to leave the majestic beast behind. Then again, maybe she didn’t have to. An idea raced through her head as she recalled her life back with her pod; how they would work together to catch fish.
But how to tell the whale-eel? She called for the creature, directing her attention to the sandy seafloor. Then, taking her index finger, stabbed it into the sand, drawing a picture of herself and the creature. The whale-eel and her child stared intently.
They understood. Good.
More drawings. Shelled squids. More whale eels. Herself.
They still looked, enraptured.
More complicated things. Movements. Ideas. Formations.
.   .   .
The dark grotto rested at the base of the island, and it was here she hesitated, its’ mouth ominous and disturbing. Still, this was where the whale-eel had directed her, and it was too late for her to back out on her word (metaphorically speaking). At the top of her lungs, she bellowed, surprised by how her voice vibrated off the grotto’s walls. It was strange, hearing her voice again after so long. Soon, another sound followed, this one the rapid movement of water as something vast as any whale but far more bloodthirsty surged through the grotto and eventually rocketing into the open sea. She did not wait for this moment to pass before she darted away fast as her sinuous tail could take her.
Long, tense moments passed. Maybe seconds, maybe minutes. She didn’t dare look behind her.
Justkeepswimmingjustkeepswimmingjustkeepswimming…
Until, at last, curiosity got the better of her, and she turned her head around to see those cavernous jaws wide open.
Now!
With a shriek she jerked upward, each flick of her tail rocketing her ever so close to the surface until-
Splash!
Her skin went cold as she popped into the open air. It was amazing how much she could see from her height, the vast ocean stretching out below her, birds circling some unseen prey above. Her heart beat ever so more quickly, all breath leaving her breathless. Crazy, how different everything looked from above!
A sharp pain rang out from the tip of her tail, dragging her away from ecstasy.
Oh. Right.
The force of a tidal wave dragged her back into the blue, no dount with the intent of swallowing the pesky girl whole.
It never got the chance.
From all sides lunged a quartet of whale-eels, the Mama and three others that had been coaxed into joining the plan. Normally, such a maneuver would have been reckless: the scaled demon would have easily ripped one of them to shreds. But with an adequate distraction, the four normally solitary predators rended the flesh of their adversary without mercy. A great bellow shook the ocean as the demon fled, massive plumes of blood spewing from its’ wounds.
Now, she wasn’t an expert on big, scaly demons, but she had a strong feeling it wouldn’t be coming around anytime soon.
As for the whale eels…
They formed a ring around her, staring intently in a way that made her nervous.
How fitting an end, to defeat monsters only to be betrayed by others. Can’t say I blame them; probably frightened to death of your grotesque, horrid…
But the whale-eels made no effort to devour her. Instead, they bowed their triangular heads, and went their separate ways, like friends at the end of a playdate.
.   .   ,
When the astonishment wore off, a single question bubbled to the surface of her mind:
What now?
Well, for starters, there was the vacant grotto, and it would be nice to have a place to hide out…
The floor of the dark cavern was littered with the pale bones of a thousand different types of sea creatures. Amongst them, he noticed several crab-things skittering about, picking what flesh they could from them. She smiled ever so slightly at this. Exploring the dark cavern with creepy crawlies was better than being alone. Fortunately, it seemed these would not be the only things keeping her company: there were fish here too, albeit ones with something… off about them. Maybe it was their large, fleshy fins, of which there seemed too many. Maybe it was their broad, spade-like tails. Maybe it was their scales, black peppered white like the night sky, or their large, milky eyes, round as a full moon. But they moved rarely, content to float in place, so she let them be.
The bones, on the other hand…
She had never seen so many. And from so many different creatures, too! Turtle shells and squid shells, the skulls of whales and of fearsome, carnivorous fish, it would take weeks to sort through them all. An especially large skull of some toothy predator caught her attention first, and with all her strength she dragged it to the entrance of her newfound home. She could already see those empty eye sockets gazing fiercely from above the grotto’s entrance. It was going to look awesome!
No sooner had she reached that point, however, than she noticed someone had beaten her there. Scattered about were large, colorful shells, along with hunks of meat from all a matter of creatures, so fresh their blood was still seeping into the water.
Her eyes lit up as the scent entered her nose. A moment later, her instincts kicked in.
.   .   .
A few minutes later, a very full and satisfied mermaid let out a belch; a fat, lazy bubble escaping her mouth and wobbling ever so slowly to the surface. As the effects of a food coma set in, she shut her eyes and grinned. Crazy as it seemed, even with all the monsters around, maybe, just maybe she could make a home in this crazy place.
There’s some real good stuff here. Admittedly I don’t have much planned for the mermaid and thus haven’t given much thought to her backstory, but while I can’t promise that I’ll use all of this, some might make its way in.

Okay here’s the whole entire text of my original pokemon gen concept under a cut (sorry if that screws you up on mobile)
Tumblr media
I’ve only ever sketched a tiny number of these (like my fly ideas here), but I can see most of them in my head pretty clearly and might sketch more of them by request someday. I originally set my fan-region in Florida, a place I hated living but still had a lot of interesting characteristics. This changed over once I moved to Oregon, and the thing about Oregon is that it has desert, forest, swamp, coastline and frozen mountaintops that are all pretty vast, ancient and in places relatively untouched compared to the rest of North America. This is not only a perfect setting for some really wild pokemon, but makes a believable choice because our Pacific Northwest is pretty popular in Japan.
The different biomes of this region have "deep" areas where the pokemon change. Some also have "polluted" areas. The region is environmentally themed and heavily deals with human interference on the natural world.
The villains are Team Bio, genetic engineerers lead by a mysterious old woman who narrowly survived the original Mewtwo experiment. Her underlings all use "mutant" pokemon, and she seeks to create a new species of hyper-intelligent, pure-hearted pokemon that will replace humans entirely. Along the way is a strange increase in reports of interstellar pokemon activity... I actually tried hard to minimize how many pokemon in this are just “my kind” of concept, but I think I failed pretty hard. It probably does feel like it leans a little more towards Mortasheen than something Pokemon would actually make, but for basically every pokemon that’s one of my “dream concepts” or “most wanted” I tried to come up with one that I thought would appeal more to somebody else’s taste than mine.

Weezodor - poison/flying - Garbodor/weezing hybrid, like a jellyfish bag with smog tentacles.
Mukking - poison/water - Weezing/muk hybrid, like a koffing with slime appendages.
Garmuk - poison/ground - Muk/garbodor hybrid, like a giant slug made of trash.
MUTANT POKEMON: mutations of classic first-stage pokemon into creatures slightly tougher than even their original final stages.
Mutant Caterpie - bug/dragon - huge, dragonlike Caterpie with more menacing eyespots, clawed limbs.
Mutant Paras - pure grass - giant paras with far more mushrooms of different colors, body pure white with no mouth and white sphere eyes, actually made only of fungus.
Mutant Venonat - bug/dark - same old venonat with a big shaggy monster body
Mutant Zubat - Psychic - somewhat larger than crobat, has actual legs and a pair of clawed arms instead of wings. Much bigger ears.
Mutant Voltorb - electric/steel - a Voltorb even bigger than Electrode, otherwise looks normal besides angrier yellow eyes...until it splits open to reveal sharp teeth.
Mutant Tangela - grass/fairy - more like its scrapped Gen II evolution but perhaps a lot taller, with two very very long arms.
Mutant Geodude - rock/fighting - HUGE spiky arms and hands but head/body are the same as always.
Mutant Shellder - water/steel - it's the spiraly slowbro one!
Mutant Exeggcute - psychic/poison - bigger and more plentiful but "rotten" looking eggs with gloomier eyes and dark purple goo.
Mutant Eevee - normal - bigger than any of the eeveelutions, shaggy and beastly with the "camouflage" ability. Learns strong attacks of every eevee evolution type.
Mutant Doduo - fighting type with only one head
Mutant Luvdisc - the only one based on a non-evolving pokemon. Angry "broken heart" Luvdisc with record offensive stats for the series, but even worse defenses than regular luvdisc.
Mutant Trapinch - dragon/bug - giant turtle-like Trapinch, redder, spiny, second mouth inside jaws.
Mutant Dratini - dragon/fairy - huge long dratini with longer feathery wing ears, identical wings down body.
Mutant Larvitar - dragon/dark - big, armored green reptile, still has larvitar type head with craggier, meaner horn.
Mutant Bagon - dragon - huge, more t-rex proportioned bagon, spiked shell on head.
Mutant Deino - bigger and shaggier with a ring of five long-necked deino heads
Mutant Gible - dragon/fighting - only usually seen as a huge sharky fin sticking out of the ground. When it emerges, its body isn't much bigger than regular gible.
Mutant Goomy - psychic/dragon - giant goomy with gaping mouth, antennae are much longer, green and stripey.
Mutant Jangmo-o - dragon/steel - same old head but more ankylosaur-like big body, entirely a dark iron color with more pitted looking scales.
ENVIRONMENTAL VARIATIONS no mechanical or typing difference, but new color schemes and decorations on existing pokemon, totally an aesthetic change. Have their own shiny forms.
SEA TRENCH FORMS: Entirely pale pink golisopod line with closed eyes transparent red tentacool line with darker red nodules dark maroon inkay line with blue lights red and purple feebas line
CAVE FORMS: White, eyeless venipede line White, eyeless magikarp line
DEEP SWAMP FORMS: crocodile-green Sandile line with lily pad on head black shelled "freshwater" shellder line with green algae growths pure red and purple colored bellsprout line
DEEP FOREST FORMS: braviary with more hawklike colors foongus line with no pokeball pattern...the original foongus? wolf-spider colored joltik line
POLLUTED INLET FORMS: Dewpider line with all black body and limbs, yellow glowing eyes in dirty green water Grey wailmer line draped in red algae, clumps of barnacles (presumably degenerated binacle) Wingull line with grey and black oil-splotched feathers, tin can on head
GARBAGE DUMP FORMS: Bounsweet line with only grey, brown and black colors, dark spoiled looking splotches Black bag trubbish line with green trash, copper colored pipes Rusted looking klink line, rotates only once every few seconds.
----------GYM LEADERS -------------- In this region the gyms are dual type, and bring back past mechanics and gimmicks as their focus.
flying/normal: a blind, wheelchair-bound old man who specializes in dog and bird pokemon. Uses a baton pass team.
Steel/electric: an astronaut commanding his gym by remote feed from the station. Uses Magnezone, Rotom forms and, surprisingly, a random steel or electric ultrabeast.
Poison/bug: a germophobic lady scientist ironically obsessed with pollution pokemon, always wearing a biohazard suit. Has weezing, garbodor, the fly pokemon and Yanmega. Uses Z-moves, but it's random whether she uses a bug or poison one and on which pokemon.
Dark/fire: an elderly biker lady. Has no gym and in fact roams around the region. Surprisingly challenges you to a third-gen style beauty contest with her frightening selection of pokemon.
Grass/fairy: witchy pharmacist and botanist who lives out in the woods, all of her grass types are mushroom based. Unusually has you team up with her in a double battle against a random pokemon of unusual size and strength, like Alola's totem pokemon.
Ground/fighting: an extremely frail little nerdy guy who likes amazingly fearsome pokemon, hates bullies but kind of is one. Makes you face a horde battle with all of his pokemon vs. only one of yours at a time.
Dragon/rock: a boisterous monster movie director who dresses his pokemon in costumes, gym is a cardboard city. Uses a dynamaxed pokemon.
Ghost/psychic: a horror author, Vincent Price like, lives in a mansion and makes visitors face scenes from his books. Instead of a single battle, he has you face a series of singular mega pokemon behind each "scene." THE LABORATORY This location is of course secretly associated with the villain team, but you can free it up from them in the endgame. Here you can make fossil pokemon, micropokemon, regional forms from past generations, ultrabeasts and even mega stones, but all require you to spend one or more “gene crystals.” You’re handed a number of these through the storyline but it would be very challenging to farm more than that  (think Gen 7 bottlecaps). Spending more crystals at the lab would allow you to finally alter abilities, natures and IV’s at a whim, and for an exceptional cost you could upgrade the BASE stats of any L100 pokemon permanently. This is a percentage increase applied across the board to all of its stats at once, and stops at either 100 total points beyond their normal limits, or a final base stat total of 530 (equivalent to a fully evolved starter) MISC STUFF:
Your mom this gen asks you if you hope to have an easy, challenging, or very challenging adventure. You can return to her at any time to adjust the difficulty again.
When you beat the game, you can make a custom trainer for online battles using the models of other NPC trainer types, i.e. you can finally be a swimmer/scientist/grunt/etc. You can unlock some popular ones from past generations.
You can select one pokemon as your main partner, which not only has it following you, but involves it a little more in the storyline (special events based on its first typing) and gives it some in-game perks.
A special item attached to any one of your pokemon allows your whole team to “share strength,” meaning that their weaknesses are mitigated for each teammate they share a type with. This allows for type-themed teams to be more viable but wouldn’t completely eliminate their weaknesses, and the effect diminishes proportionately for every pokemon that faints.
You can designate a seventh pokemon to be your “team mascot,” a non-combat role with different effects depending on species/type.
A single team can have either the mascot, a z-move, a dynamax/gigantamax form or a mega, cannot mix these.
Legendary pokemon now suffer a stat nerf for every other legendary pokemon on the same team. A team of six legendaries would actually be somewhat below-average in stats.

"So, what's the surprise, Seaweed Brain?" Annabeth asked Percy as they strolled along the beach. It was Annabeth's birthday and Percy wanted to surprise her by taking her to her Poseidon's castle. "Oh you'll see," Percy smirked. "Seaweed Brain, you know I don't like surprises right? And besides, I'll probably even guess what it is," Annabeth said.
Percy groaned like a child. "See this is why I can never surprise you!" He waved he's arms dramatically in the air. Annabeth giggled at her boyfriend's childishness. "Okay okay, I'll try not to guess it okay?" Annabeth promised. "Pinky promise?" Percy held out his pinky like a five year old. "Yes, pinky promise," Annabeth giggled and link their pinkies together.
Percy took her hand and they stroll along Camp Half Blood's beautiful beach. The sun was starting to rise. The sunlight shone on the ocean, the ocean twinkled and dolphins even jumped out and did a few flips in front of the couple. The sky turned a soft lilac and blue colour. Even Annabeth couldn't help but stare in awe.
"This way, my princess," Percy led towards the ocean. "So I did some calculations-"
"Wait? Since when do you do calculations?" Annabeth cut him off. "Anyways," Percy rolled his eyes. "I did some calculations," he emphasised the word 'calculations'. "And that I can make you breath underwater," He grinned. "Well, surprise me," Annabeth crossed her arms and waited. Percy grinned and leaned in. Their lips touch and the dolphins were clapping in the background.
They parted for breath. "That was sweet and all but what was that for?" Annabeth placed her arms around his shoulders. "You'll see," he wiggled his arm around her waist. They were now standing about the sea, thanks to Percy. He slowly lowered them down into the ocean. Annabeth looked around her, she was surrounded in water and she was breathing.
"Wow," She breathed out. Percy was grinning like an idiot. "Cmon," He took her by the hand. As they swam, many sea creatures passed by them. And of course they were whispering to Percy. "That's his majesty's son."
"Lord Percy!"
"Who's the girl beside him?"
"She looks beautiful."
Soon, they were floating at the edge of a underwater gap. Percy whistled and soon two hippocampus swam towards him. They were beautiful. Their skin shone like the galaxy underwater. If you don't know what they are, from the waist up they have a horse as a head and horse hooves, from the waist down, they have a fish tail and flippers.
Both of them each rode one hippocampus. Soon they were in front a huge arch. Inside, they're were sea and ocean nymphs everywhere. Even mermaids and mermen. Annabeth couldn't decide if she was amazed by the creatures or the architecture of the kingdom.
"Hey Dad!" Percy greeted his father, Poseidon who was siting on his throne of seashells and coral. "Percy my son!" Poseidon bellowed as he gave Percy a very big hug. "And Annabeth, good to see again," He smiled at Annabeth. "Good to see you too, my lord," Annabeth, being the mature one bowed.
"Percy told me his plans on everything, and happy birthday Annabeth, this is gift to you, just don't let your mother find out," Poseidon said. Poseidon snapped his finger and a nereid came holding a tray. On top the tray was two glass bottle filled with sparkling blue and green liquid. "A... potion?" Annabeth picked one of the bottle up.
"One for you and one for my son," Poseidon said. "Cool, what does it do?" Percy asks inspecting the bottle. "Why don't you drink and find out?" Poseidon grinned. Percy and Annabeth hesitated but drank it, what could go wrong right?
Percy and Annabeth gulped down the liquid. They started to glow, like really bright, almost as bright as Apollo but I'm not allowed to say that. The glowing died down. "I don't feel any different," Annabeth mumbled. Poseidon snapped his fingers and two mermen came with a body size mirror.
"WOAH!" Percy grinned. They couldn't believe what they saw in their reflection. "W-We're mermaids!" Annabeth said. "Merman!" Percy corrected her. Percy was shirtless but from the waist down, he had ocean green fish tail that sparkles in the light. Annabeth hair was in a half braid which was decorated with pearls and seashells, she had a white crop top that was decorated with pearls. From waist down, she had a coral pink fish tail.
"Oh my gods, this is awesome!" Annabeth swam in circles. Their weapons hung on a belt made of seaweed around their waist. "Thank you, Lord Poseidon," Annabeth bowed. Percy was still busy doing flips and giggling like a kid. Poseidon chuckled at them.
"Go and have fun, explore!" Poseidon sent them. For the entire day, the happy couple swam around, amazed by the underwater life. They returned back to the palace when the ocean turned dark, meaning it was night time. Poseidon was busy signing papers, obviously papers sent from Zeus.
"Ah, welcome back!" Poseidon greeted them back. "Had fun?" He asked. "A lot," Annabeth answered. Percy was still acting like a child. "So, how do we turn back into human?" Percy asked. "Why that's simple, I just... um... I... um," Poseidon stopped and thought for awhile. "I actually, don't know." He admitted. "What!?" Annabeth asked in shock. "I never turned anyone into mermaids before," he added. "T-Then, how?" Percy stutter.
"Well I thought it was a good idea," Poseidon stopped when a ocean nymph came and whispered something into his ear. Both of them had a brief discussion. "Great news! Kyla here," Poseidon gestured towards the ocean nymph, "knows how to turn you back into human!"
"How?" Annabeth raised a brow. "Well, there's this ancient cave near shore, there this magical wishing pearl. People say if you touch it and say you're wish it would come true," Kyla explained. "Then lets goooo," Percy started to swim but Annabeth caught him by the fin. "Hold up, Seaweed Brain." She said. "What's the catch?" Annabeth raised a brow.
"Well, it is near shore but it's deep down, like under shore. Around the midnight zone," Kyla said nervously. "Can we go now?" Percy asked getting impatient. "Percy, the midnight zone is very dangerous," Annabeth told him. "Have you seen me with danger? Demigods are a magnet for danger!" He waved his arms around. "True, but the midnight zone has less oxygen and the pressure is really high. It could burst out lungs, even if we're mermaids, because we're not real mermaids, we're still half mortal," Annabeth explained. "But I can breath underwater," Percy stated. "And I can't," Annabeth pointed out.
"And that is where I come in," Poseidon said. He gave them both a seashell necklace with four stripes on it. "When you are about to enter the midnight zone, put these on. It would let you stay there long enough for you to get to the pearl. But once you turn back to human, you need to get out of there as fast as you can. In mermaid form, you can last longer than human and might only used one bar and that means you have three bars left when you are in human form before your lungs burn," Poseidon explained. "Now be safe, and don't get killed on the way down," Poseidon patted Percy's head. Percy gave Poseidon a hug and said their goodbyes. Percy took Annabeth's hand started to swim back to shore.
When they were almost near shore, they stopped and look down. "Ready, Wise Girl?" Percy asks. "Ready," Annabeth answered. Both of them put on the necklace and the four stripes started to glow as they descended into the midnight zone. Many giant creatures such as squid and sharks passed by them. They didn't want to mess with them, I mean who would want too? He's the son of Poseidon, their king. But they did had to kill a few squids who were rebellious against Poseidon.
They soon found a cave. It was attached to the shore line, the entrance was covered with seaweed, but there was faint glow coming from the inside. They swam towards it. But Annabeth pulled Percy towards a rock and hid behind it. "What is it-" Annabeth cut Percy off by putting her index finger to her lips. "Listen," she whispered. Percy ears perked up as he heard movement and low growling near the cave. Both of them peeked up from the rock. Huge tentacles surrounded the cave. "It's a kraken!" Percy exclaimed. "Shhh!" Annabeth shushed him. The kraken red eyes glowed in the dark, its tentacles making a swishing sound as it moved. "What are we gonna do?" Percy asked. Annabeth thought for awhile. "We need to distract it," Annabeth said. "How?" Percy asked. "We need to get passed this tentacles," Annabeth said. "They are huge! It's like fighting an underwater Hydra just that the tentacle doesn't grow back but it's bigger and longer," Percy groaned.
Annabeth thought for awhile. "I got it!" A tiny lightbulb sparked from her head. "We can swim fast, even though the tentacles is huge it can't move that fast cause of its weight. If we swim fast enough and different direction, we could confused it and the tentacles would very tangled," Annabeth said. Percy nodded.
"1,2,3 go!" Annabeth said. Percy and Annabeth charged at the kraken. Swimming fast and around it. It was annoyed by them but also confused. "HEY SQUID FACE!" Percy called him multiple names. Soon, the tentacles were all tangled and the kraken was struggling to get it out. "Now!" Percy said. They swam inside the cave, brushing past the seaweed entrance.
"Woah," Percy looked around the cave. "This Place looked like someone lived here," He said. "Percy! In here!" Annabeth called him. Percy Swann towards Annabeth. A huge pearl sat on table of coral, it was glowing a coral pink light. "Ready?" Annabeth asked her boyfriend, he nodded. Both of them put their hands on the pearl and closed their eyes. "I wish to be human again," They both said in unison. Both of them started to glow for a moment. The glowing died down and they opened their eyes. "We're human again!" Annabeth gasped. They were back in their camp attire.
Just in time, they heard a beeping sound. A bar from the seashell was gone, three more left. "Cmon, we have to-"
"Wise Girl look out!"
"Huh- AAAAH! PERCY!" Annabeth screamed. A tentacle had sneaked in and wrapped itself around Annabeth's waist and pulled her out. "AAAAAHHHH!" She yelled. "WISE GIRL!" Percy swam after her. The kraken had untangled itself. It roared at Percy. Annabeth was hanging off the tentacle, squirming to get out but the grip only got tighter. Annabeth grunted in pain.
Percy whipped out Riptide. "LET HER GO YOU SQUID FACE!" He yelled at it. The kraken roared at him and charged it tentacles at it. Percy dodge most of it. He sliced of one. The kraken roared in pain. Usually, squid can regenerate their tentacles but it takes time, and this kraken doesn't have time before Percy turns it into calamari. Percy stabbed at the kraken as it charged at Percy. "HANG ON WISE GIRL!" Percy said. He charged towards the tentacle holding Annabeth and sliced it off. Annabeth untangled herself, Percy swam towards her and wrapped his arms around her.
Annabeth felt dizzy, she realised her seashell had only one and a half bar left. Before she could say anything, she passed out in Percy arms due to the lac of oxygen. Percy panicked for awhile then realised why she had passed out. The kraken had swam back into its hiding place to regenerate its tentacles. Percy swam upwards to the light.
"Hah!" Percy's head popped up from the water. He dragged Annabeth towards the sand, Percy kissed her a few times which he considers CPR. A few minutes later, Annabeth started to cough out water. "Hey there Wise Girl," Percy grinned at her. "Hey, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth kissed Percy. Right now, it was night time. The stars were shining brightly.
"So how did you like your birthday present?" Percy asked his girlfriend. They were lying on the sand, not caring if they had sand on their backs or hair. "It was, unexpected I have to admit. I did expect you taking me to Poseidon's castle but not the mermaid part," Annabeth admitted. "So, did I surprise you?" Percy asked. Annabeth laughed. "Yes, yes you did," She kissed him one more. She snuggled up to him as both of them admired the beautiful night sky above.
This was truly an amazing birthday experience that Annabeth will never forget.

Hey, I saw an old post of yours about you finding a ton of dogs and bringing them home in Minecraft, and you mentioned that you were playing with mods. I was wondering if you'd be willing to recommend some good mods to me? Been playing with them for awhile but it's hard to find more good ones
I’m sorry it’s taken over a month for me to answer this – I’ve been using the mobile app way more than the browser lately and I always forget to check my inbox on mobile.
Anyway, I made a mod rec post before but it was almost two years ago and I’ve changed up my mod lineup a lot since, so here’s an updated list.
Right now I’m using Minecraft 1.12.2 and Minecraft Forge 1.12.2-14.23.5.2814. (Looks like there’s a newer edition of Forge, I just haven’t updated it yet.) Also some mods are dependent on other mods or require you to download additional resource packs/libraries/etc., so just make sure you check the requirements before downloading (probably goes without saying, but just in case).
I’m putting the list under a cut because otherwise this post will be an absolute wall of text.
PERFORMANCE MODS
OptiFine: This one’s a performance mod that aims to boost FPS and improve the graphics.
NotEnoughIDs:This expands Minecraft’s ID limit for blocks and items, which is necessary if you’re using a ton of mods that add a lot of new content.
CONVENIENCE MODS
Just Enough Items (JEI):This one is an item/block/recipe viewing tool with a search feature. There’s also a cheat mode that lets you just drop whatever item you want into your inventory.
Inventory Tweaks:This adds new options for managing/sorting your inventory (on your person or in storage chests) and some convenience features, like automatically replacing tools or item stacks when broken/depleted as long as you have more in your inventory (which also includes your backpacks, if you use the Backpacks mod listed below).
Multi-Hotbar:Just gives you 2-3 additional hotbars, so you aren’t just limited to nine slots and don’t have to constantly go into your inventory screen to move things around if there are more than nine tools/stacks you use regularly.
JourneyMap: This one automatically maps your Minecraft world as you explore – there’s a minimap in the upper right corner of the screen, and it can be expanded to view the whole map if you want. It also lets you set waypoints (which you can teleport to), with an option to mark them with visible beacons that can be seen from the overworld. It also automatically creates waypoints when you die, so you can easily teleport back to where you died once you respawn.
Nature’s Compass:In-game biome finder, with teleport feature. Also works with biomes added by mods (e.g. Biomes O’ Plenty).
Find Your Way:Adds some new compasses to point you in the direction of various overworld structures (strongholds, mansions, villages, etc.).
Backpacks: Adds recipes for backpacks. By default they’re 3x9 but by crafting and adding backpack pouches, they can be expanded. They start out brown but can be dyed. They can also be nested, so if you want a backpack within a backpack within a backpack, you can do that. Which I do. Excessively. My inventory situation is… hellishly recursive. But at least I can collect stuff forever before I have to go back home and stash it all.
Fence Jumper: A very simple convenience mod that lets players jump over fences. Doesn’t apply to mobs.
Survival Flight:This just lets you use Creative Mode’s flight mechanic in Survival Mode. Is it cheating? Probably, but it’s your Minecraft world and you can fly if you want to.
WORLDGEN/ITEM ADDITIONS MODS
Quark: This one adds a lot of new features – blocks, decoration, mobs, automation options, underground biomes, recipes, convenience tweaks, etc. etc. etc. Main website with descriptions of all the added features can be found here.
Roguelike Dungeons: As the description says, “a mod that generates large underground dungeon structures which have a procedurally generated layout and loot.”
Actually Additions:Adds a lot of random stuff, check the manual to see the full list.
Chisel:More decorative blocks, including many new texture variations of vanilla Minecraft blocks.
Biomes O’ Plenty: Adds over 60 new biomes to the world, with new trees, blocks, plants, etc. Works best with the creation of a new world, but you can make it work with an existing world with some extra steps (see the installation section here). It’s pretty simple, but you need to download an NBT Editor to do it (last time I had to do it, I used NBT Explorer).
Terraqueous:New fruit trees, flowers, mineable cloud blocks, tools, etc.
Natura:More new worldgen stuff.
Ferdinand’s Flowers:Literally just adds A Lot of new kinds of flowers to the overworld and makes things very, very colorful.
Pam’s HarvestCraft:More crops, food recipes, etc.
Fairy Lights: Adds recipes for creating hanging lights, string lights, etc. for decoration and lighting options.
MrCrayfish’s Furniture Mod: Adds recipes for furniture. Mostly good for decoration, but some are also functional (e.g. cabinets and refrigerators that provide storage).
MOBS/CREATURES MODS
Mo’ Creatures: Adds a bunch of new mobs to the game (passive, neutral, hostile, and tamable). Many of the tamable mobs can be used as mounts, such as big cats, wyverns, manticores, giant scorpions, elephants, komodo dragons, dolphins, manta rays, bears, and several different kinds of horse (including unicorns, winged horses, ghost horses, and fairy horses). The config files are straightforward and easy to edit if you want to tweak the spawn rates of different mobs. Note: The Forge page says that DrZhark’s Custom Mob Spawner is required, but when I was having trouble with another mod’s custom mobs not spawning properly, Custom Mob Spawner turned out to be the culprit. I removed it, and it seems like Mo’ Creatures is still working even without Custom Mob Spawner, and it takes far less time to load a world than it did before.
Dragon Mounts 2:Tameable dragon mounts. I love them.
Ice and Fire:Adds new mythical mobs – dragons, sirens, cockatrices, sea serpents, etc.
Doggy Talents:Your tamed wolves can Do More Stuff.
Wolf Armor and Storage: What it says on the tin. Wolf armor is very similar to horse armor, and chests can be added to wolves like they can be added to llamas.
DIMENSIONS MODS
Twilight Forest: Adds a new dimension, the Twilight Forest. The list of added features can be found on the Wiki here. Each new biome has its own boss (usually with a corresponding dungeon) to defeat (bosses can be defeated more than once since there’s at least one per biome and, like in the overworld, there’s more than one of each kind of biome in the world). It follows a progression system, meaning certain areas (and therefore boss fights) are locked until you defeat other bosses (e.g. certain biomes having a weather effect that renders it virtually impossible to traverse until defeating the boss and getting the item that will allow you to pass through the area). It can be a bit laggy but it’s still fun.
Advent of Ascension:Adds several new dimensions with their own biomes, mobs, items, bosses, etc. It’s fun but I don’t recommend it if you hate clowns because there is an entire clown dimension and even though you can avoid that, there’s also this one clown mob that spawns in the overworld underground, you’ll just be minding your business mining and suddenly BOOM creepy murder clown in the shadows. Also, if you’re using Mo’ Creatures, don’t use the Custom Mob Spawner because it’ll prevent Ascension’s mobs from spawning properly.
Cavern II:Adds new cavern dimensions to explore, new blocks and ores, and a miner stats/progression system. It’s the successor to the original Cavern mod. One of my favorite things is the randomite ore, which drops a random item when it’s mined (which can include items added by other mods).
The Betweenlands:This one adds a dark, swampy dimension with its own lore and survival challenges (e.g. you can only eat what you can gather in the Betweenlands and any food from the overworld rots when entering the dimension; there are new mechanics like food sickness, player decay, and tool corrosion that occur when spending long periods of time in the Betweenlands; etc.).
Erebus:Erebus is the “dimension of the arthropods” and is exactly what it says on the tin.
Better Nether:Some tweaks to the Nether that make it more fun to explore – new biomes, new mobs, new structures, etc.
AbyssalCraft:New eldritch dimensions, mobs, biomes, items/blocks, etc. You do some inadvisable rituals, read some questionable tomes, collect some dubious artifacts, encounter things with lots of eyes and tentacles… oh and one time, when I was playing one of the earlier versions of the mod, Shoggoths invaded my home and killed all my horses and left a residue all over everything and I had to restore an old backup save, so. I recommend reading the wiki before you do any summoning rituals.
VoidCraft:This is an older mod no longer in development, but if you’re like me and get bored easily and download every new dimension mod you can find, have at it.
The Aether II:This is the sequel to the old Aether mod (which also has a reboot for Minecraft 1.12, here). It’s still in development and I actually haven’t had a chance to explore the new dimension much yet myself, but it looks interesting.
