hey! i totally get where you’re coming from with your recent tenko post and why you’d think this, so i’m not saying this in an angry way, but i thought it would be worth it to point at that tenko is actually canonically not bioessentialist and includes trans women in her love for women. in her fifth fte, she actually pretty much suggests that shuichi should just become a trans girl, implying that if he does so, she would be able to accept him. i get that this is a strange comment to make in itself, but it at least suggests that tenko believes trans women are women.

her misandry is pretty problematic on its own, and i totally understand that’s enough of a reason to not like her in itself, but based on things she has canonically said, she would not agree with radfem ideals, and she would support trans women. overall, i think tenko is far from malicious and is at worst just severely misinformed. her ftes do a better job of portraying this than the rest of the game, showing the reason that she believes what she does and even showing her eventually acknowledging how ridiculous her own ideology is.

Hm that does improve things somewhat, I've only played her first fte and she's literally the last character I'm doing them for lmao, so that is based on pretty much exclusively what you get in the main story. I'm glad to hear she's not actively transphobic (unlike Kaito in the Japanese version, or so I've heard... yikes), but even so as a trans man who's seen plenty of takes from both self-proclaimed trans inclusive and trans exclusive radfems that are pretty much just hate screeds about how much men are all dirty, dangerous perverts... none of those people are the sort I'd want to associate with, because I'm either a gross gender traitor or not a man at all but rather a poor disillusioned girl who needs to be persuaded that being a girl is better, actually to them.

At the end of the day she's a fictional character so I don't blame anyone for liking her or wanting to produce content with her in it, y'all do what makes you happy, I'm just surprised that I seem to be the only one who got hit with those same Yikes Vibes that I get from people who are really nasty to men and transmascs, if not all trans people. I don't like her, but then I do like characters who other people would wonder why tf I give them the time of day, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(Also on a side note I've seen people making memes about how shuichi's interest in crossplay in tsumugi's ftes/seeming willingness to take on female roles in characters' love hotel events is... *confused egg noises*, so it's interesting that that would come up again here 👀🏳️‍⚧️)
