types of kisses ; 875 words of caleb fluff (again), but suggestive-ish (implications of sex), so mdni nonetheless !! mostly though i've been in a fluffy mood and he makes me write like this 😭 HAPPY NYE!!!!

morning kisses with caleb were soft.

sleepy, still.

he tended to be more of a morning person than you, yourself, but he didn't always get up immediately, especially if he didn't need to. he was perfectly happy to hold you in his arms, cozy under the blankets—his hand would go up to make soft strokes into your hair, leaning in to place a gentle kiss on your forehead.

and then your eyes would flutter open.

and it was your most favorite thing in the world to wake up to him. sleepy smiles and sighs as you snuggle into him, the steady hum of his heartbeat... he'd chuckle a little, and then he'd be back to placing kisses all over, enjoying the soft little hum of approval that escaped your lips.

"lemme guess," he mumbled, nuzzling the crown of your head. "five more minutes, right, pipsqueak?"

"mhm. lil'more... wanna stay with you."

and then when dusk fell, and you'd be back at home to be with him, and he with you—

sometimes, afternoon kisses with him got a little more intense.

there were days like this that you were reminded of this side of him not particularly soft; the side of him a little more demanding, a little more relinquished in control. a long day for the both of you had you pressed up against the wall, knee between your legs, hands pinning yours up by the sides of your head. you barely had time to breathe; any sounds of surprise or even pleasure barely had a moment to make themselves audible, before he was crashing back into you.

you knew where it'll lead, and frankly, you didn't mind at all—

not when he kissed you like this, with so much fervor, and desire, and emotion; so, so much more than you would normally get from him. his lips would pry your own apart with ease, tongue slipping in to flick at yours—it was a feeling that made your breath hitch, your knees buckle.

he had all of you in these moments, and all of you that you would freely, gladly surrender.

because sometimes comfort with him—from him—meant exactly that.

and when the night had ended and you lay back in his arms, you'd cherish the feel of his bare skin on yours, fingers tracing the little marks he'd left on your body.

goodnight kisses were giggly, and a little playful.

he would tease, like he always did—comment on how cute you were, how good you'd been for him... you'd take a moment to swat at his arm, maybe roll around in a playful wrestle for the upper hand. you'd end up on top of him, notice that twinkle in his eye that told you that he'd absolutely let you win on purpose.

you'd watch as his gaze softened—the smirk on his lips fading into a gentle smile, his hand reaching up to tuck a strand of your hair behind your ear.

his touch lingered.

he chuckled a little bit, and your foreheads would press together—he'd have no issues stealing the giggles from your lips, breathing into each other with a certain sense of joy.... all warm kisses to signify how much he loved you.

but sometimes, other times... now, standing in the doorway to the kitchen, a mistletoe hanging above your heads...

at times like this, caleb's kisses were vulnerable... yet, sweet.

and the pull towards him didn't need such silly festivities to work.

he'd hold you by the waist, pull you close to press up against him, hands going to brush off some stray specks of glitter from your hair that you'd gotten from all the last-minute decorating...

"was this your doing, pipsqueak?" he mused.

you'd smile, because it was true.

"we don't need this, y'know."

"i know."

"s'not christmas anymore, either."

"i know."

and maybe this time it was you who made the first move, arms snaking up around his shoulders, standing up on tiptoe for your nose to nuzzle against his.

it was silly.

you didn't need a mistletoe.

if you wanted to be festive, and traditional, and whatever else—

you could have waited for the fireworks.

it was silly.

but... that was the joy of it.

you liked being silly with him.

and you would watch the way he shook his head ever so slightly, voice dropping to a whisper—"i really freaking love you, i hope you know that."

and it was just like him to leave no room for the butterflies to crowd in your stomach, before he leaned in, the first touch of his lips enough to steal your breath away.

soft.

slow.

gentle.

sweet.

a hand went to your back, holding you close, cradling you by the doorway as his lips moved against yours. he tasted like sugar—the apple pie the both of you had baked just earlier lingered still, but you didn't mind the least bit. and he kissed you again, and again, and again. his head tilted a little more, the corners of his lips turned up into a smile....

you felt it.

he was happy.

and you were more than happy to spend the next year with him as you'd been doing.

at the end of the year, kisses with caleb were perfect.
