summary: looks can certainly be deceiving, but he's not with you for how you look—he's completely smitten for how adorable and lovable you are as a person, as his girl.

* ੈ✩‧₊˚ hajime iwaizumi

he had never, never in the three years that he's been your schoolmate, seen you around campus with your pretty and bold clothes, with your striking hair and makeup—with that lovely voice of yours making him go crazy—never had he realized that, beneath your bold exterior, lay a sweet and shy girl that made him fall for you even harder. he had always struggled thinking of how to talk to you, how to approach you and ask you out on a date. when he finally mustered the courage to do so (after being threatened by oikawa that if he didn't make his move now, he'd get to you first) he realized that you were leagues shier than he could ever be; and that was so fucking cute to him.

now that you two are dating, iwaizumi makes it a point to call you beautiful everyday, not just because it's true and he wants you to feel that it is, but because he loves it when you get all bashful and embarrassed, when you hide behind your tiny hands in an attempt to cover your flustered face. when your make up is off and your hair is down, iwaizumi's heart skips a beat and his face gets all warm and fuzzy.

"oh, shit—i really lucked out in life; my girl's gorgeous." he blurted out subconsciously, his eyes glued on to you as he admired how you look without makeup, when you look the way you naturally do, and just... you being you. he loves every way you look and how you express yourself, and he's more than willing to shut someone who has nothing to say about you up; and for every bad thing you've heard in your life that's been thrown at you for how 'over the top' you look, he combats those words with sweet words that flow like honey of his own, and with gentle kisses to remind you how loved you are, how much he loves you.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ wakatoshi ushijima

it was hard for ushijima to take his mind off of anything but volleyball, but to work hard to make it to nationals—it used to be pretty hard, but now that you're in his life, ushijima has learned to find some balance in his life. first impressions plagued you both when you two first met; you thought of him as this big, scary, intimidating fellow, and of course he was! standing at 189 centimers and with daring eyes like his, your shyness quintupled when you accidentally bumped into him on your first day. ushijima was also taken in by how you looked for a split second, he originally thought you were one of those popular girls who were spoiled, that you probably thought you were better than ushijima, which was why you never said anything to him when you two bumped into each other. he didn't expect you to apologize, so he let it go—until you parted your lips and let out a soft apology. ushijima would never forget the feeling that rumbled in his chest as this smaller girl, who he thought he would never come to like or have an opinion of, actually apologize to him.

and from then on, after he acknowledged your apology and gave an apology back, you two kept bumping into each other here and there; it was comical, really, tendou kept teasing you two for it, saying you were both star-colliding lovers, or whatever pun he made up for it that got annoying, yet sweet, real quick. when you two realized your feelings for each other, ushijima felt sort of protective over you after you both became official. he had a habit of playing with the ends of your hair involuntarily, just fidgeting with the ends of it, threading it in between his long, thick fingers. he loved it when your small hands would envelope around his fingers to hold his hand on the way home, and he made sure you would always get home safe.

because of tendou and the rest of the team, ushijima had finally learned how to say these words with a smidge of confidence and endless love behind them: "remember... i love you. a lot. stay... safe. and... you're beautiful. i love you." he said in his usual deep, rumbling voice and stoic expression; though you could tell ushijima had to muster all his confidence and put a lot of his heart into that. you got all flustered and smiled, thanking him in stammers and giggles, making the corners of his lips turn up into a slight smile. his gaze was soft and caring, and ushijima wanted nothing more than to have you in his arms before he'd make his way home. that now became his favorite routine, wrapping his big, muscular arms around you, and gently hugging you—holding you close and burying his nose in the crook of your neck as he ends the day with a hug from you, thinking of you subconsciously, wishing silently to himself that tomorrow would hurry up so he could hug you, hold you, and say he loves you again, and again, and again.

Soft!Tendou who throws his jacket over you everytime you come to one of his games because he claims it’s to keep sweaty boys from approaching you but he lowkey is possessive and gets super happy when you wear his number. There was a time at one of his games that he shut down an impressive spike and as the crowd erupted into whistles and hollering you stood up branding his number and screaming at the top of your lungs: “That’s my boyfriend!!” He couldn’t stop blushing the whole match he can’t help being so in love with you.

But also Soft!Tendou who always gives you homemade snackies that he always just happens to accidentally pack an extra portion for you. I feel like every Valentine’s Day you too go and do something like gross Rom-Com marathons and cook together. If you have socials media you always post and tag him and the comment sections are always arguing about “how cute y’all are” or “how you don’t have to rub it in” there is no inbetween

Soft!Tendou that throw all his body weight on to you at random times to see how you react. You’d think he would stop after surprising you with a trust fall when you was ready a book in the library and nearly cracking his skull open on a table when you failed to catch him and when you finally get back to him all he does is smile and cover you in kisses saying I still trust you <3

Soft!Tendou who kisses you anywhere anytime. No matter who is near if you’re busy he just needs to be near you his love language is most definitely physical touch. You know ushijima has had to pry Tendou off of you before practice because he has wrapped himself around you and won’t let go and your kinda just standing there like bread not trying to get out of the death hold but also not trying to get him in trouble with his team.

I don’t know if this is sad or cute but I’m literally screaming because Soft!Tendou definitely can sympathise with anyone and one Sunday afternoon you see him comforting a kid who is all by themselves and crying and you know he just goes to the kid and starts playing with them and spinning them around and building sandcastles with them and when he spots you it’s like your a little family and EEEEEEEEEEE *heart throb*

Soft!Tendou that loves doodling on his skin and one day during lunch just reaches for your hand and brings it into his lap and starts writing everything he loves about you and drawing cute variations of hearts and throwing in the occasional motivational quote like ‘be the best you can be’ or ‘Tendou Satori’s amazing, beautiful girlfriend ♡︎’

Finding Out They're Gonna Be Dads Haikyuu Post-Timeskip HC's!

iwaizumi: at first, hajime would just sort of stand there, mouth agape as he registered the positive pregnancy test in your hand and the sentence you had just uttered. 'hajime, you're gonna be a dad'. did he really hear that right? there was no way. 'really?'. he swallowed nervously. you nodded, and that was all it took for him to crouch down beside you on the bathroom floor and envelop you in his arms, pulling you tight against him. he tried his best to blink away his tears, but he couldn't stop a few sniffles from escaping. after all, sharing a kid with you was something hajime had often dreamt of, and now his dream was coming true. he couldn't ask for more.

oikawa: this man wouldn't know how to act initially. 'i'm sorry, what, princess?'. he'd just stand there, internally panicking but trying to keep a cool head. but once you confirmed your earlier statement, his smirk would be replaced with an excited grin and his eyes would widen tenfold. 'wow. wow!'. he'd pick you up, peppering your face with kisses as he muttered 'i love you's and 'thank you's, because while tōru had never explicitly objected to the idea of having a baby with you, it was something he never really knew that he wanted. he was so busy with his life with just you that he never even considered the possibility of another small human in it. yet here he was.

kuroo: he would be completely different to the cocky, annoying guy you were used to. a small giggle would escape his lips because of the disbelief he was in. 'it is mine, right?' he'd try to play off his nervousness with a joke, but you saw through his exterior. you simply nodded, lips pursed as you tried to keep your emotions from overwhelming you. 'oh my god' he choked out in a whisper. a palm flew up to cover his mouth while his other hand wrapped around your waist and hugged you to his chest. all you could do was hug him back, unable to respond from how happy you were. 'i'm gonna be a dad' you heard the bright grin in his voice.

ushijima: i feel like he wouldn't really sob or cry or anything like that, mainly because he's not super emotional as a person. 'i'm going to be the father of our baby?'. 'yeah, toshi'. 'and you'll be the mother of my child'. this time, it isn't a question. it's more of a statement. you silently nodded. 'mhmm'. alright, there may be a few tears pricking at the corners of his eyes, and they'll likely glisten a bit or whatever. he'll just slowly approach you, taking in your beauty all over again like the first time he saw you. because now he sees you differently; he sees you as this amazing, strong woman who's gonna hold a part of him. he's just so astounded by this new, domestic life you'll share.

kenma: kenma's probably the type of guy to not even want a kid in the first place, but when he sees your face as you break the news of your pregnancy to him, he's a goner. he's practically melting, and all he can imagine now is raising a mini version of the both of you together. 'my baby?'. he might not be able to find all the right words, but trust me when i say his heart is overflowing with utter adoration. he's so happy that he's going to be the father of your child, and what makes him even happier is that he didn't think he needed this in his life until this very moment. there are tears pouring out of his eyes, and all he can do is cling onto you and think of the future.

tendō: oh my god, satori's had baby fever since day one, i don't even know how you dealt with him enough to wind up bearing his child. 'no. no way'. he's cautious at first, cause one million thoughts are racing through his head right now. once you tell him you're serious, he's officially lost it. 'y/n, if this is some kind of prank, i'll never forgive you' he threatens. you shake your head, assuring him the news is true. 'WOO!' he jumps up multiple times, fist pumping the air and beaming from ear to ear. he whisks you into his arms bridal style, kissing virtually any exposed skin he can find. 'yes, yes, yes! i'm gonna be a dad!'. yeah, he happy cries for as long as you'll let him.

asahi: 'p-pregnant?' he puts down his glasses, looking away from his laptop screen to meet your eyes instead. 'yeah, 'sahi'. you smile tentatively. he stands up, and you can see tears already welling up in his eyes. he takes your hands in his, gingerly rubbing circles with his thumbs. this poor baby is so dumbfounded he doesn't know what to do. 'so we're gonna be parents'. he takes things step by step. 'yeah' you scoff. he laughs along, cupping your face in his hands and pressing a long, chaste kiss to your forehead. 'thank you so much for everything. i can't wait to start our family together'. his cheek rests on top of your head. you stay there for a while, holding him.

nishinoya: give him time, okay? cause when you tell him, his first reaction is to ask you to repeat yourself again. and again. and again. 'you're serious, babe?' he still doesn't know whether he can trust the information. the second he does, though, he's so vulnerable in a way you've never seen before. picture him slowly crawling up to you with a wavering smile on his lips. once he reaches you, he'll sit on his knees, wrap his arms around your waist and place his ear against your stomach if you'll let him. 'my beautiful baby is in there. wow. we made that. us. together.' truly baffled at this miracle of life. prepare for nine months of this boy never leaving your side.
