no but for real though, i've been waiting for the full version of this song since APRIL; he used it as a special leader stage for gdc! that version is much shorter obvs and way more of an 'nct' song, plus i think bada may have made a new choreography for the full song. to be honest a lot of my thoughts are most just AAAAAAAAAA, which is fine bc there isn't much of a deep overarching theme and i don't think that there needs to be one either. obvs i'd love to see ten tackle something on the level of taemin or kai conceptually but i think there's a really special and underrated skill in fully embodying a performance regardless of its thematic depth, because it's hard. i talked about this with chaeyeon's solo but if you don't have something to ground your performance in it becomes very easy to be unmoored, and you can lose the thread of what you're trying to portray very quickly. something that i think ten does better than pretty much every other kpop dancer is that he is profoundly excellent at embodying feeling. you can give him a basic concept with a key visual and he makes you believe that he is that concept. and he does seem to base a lot of his creative decisions on embodying feelings, he's done several interviews recently and one that stuck out to me was that he said he's had birthday on the docket since pmn, but because he was feeling a specific way for pmn, he kept it on the backburner until his next cb. working down to your theme from such broad emotional strokes is a very difficult way of working, but it allows a lot of loose creative freedom that i think suits him very well.

obvs i gotta talk about the styling too. there's some really beautiful design choices happening here, most notably to me is the use of negative space and detailing! the main costume (the transparent shirt with the carpet pants) both draws attention to his torso and arms, while also provided fringe and loose dangling bits to accentuate the movement. most of the styling actually has these two elements, which gives a very strong unity of silhouette even though there are some pretty different types of clothing happening. one tiny weird detail that i don't know if anyone other than me noticed, but with the carpet pants and the patchwork ones from the vogue 8pm concert, because there's so many layers of fabric built up around the waist, you can see in specific moments what the pants actually stay still while his waist moves inside them. not an effect that i think was intentional by the designers, but a great effect nonetheless.

He feels like it was a lost opportunity (?). It had such great potential but didn't hit as big as he had hoped. There's something here about bad advice that was given; a job poorly executed; perhaps even it not being well promoted by the company? I had to pull one more for what the big issue here is and it does seem like he had to comply with a lot of things, just to be able to move forward with the project. And he feels like he self sabotaged. It was like they gave him a false sense of power and he fell for it... :(

How he feels about Paint Me Naked:

Much better! He's happier about the outcome of this one. He likes the sound, how everything moved forward, what skills it allowed him to showcase. With PMN, he might've had a little bit more creative control, although still rather limited. But, in the end, he was happy with how much he was able to do and what it resulted in. It was an opportunity for growth and to prove himself, as well.

What inspired "Paint Me Naked"?

multiple things! first, paint me naked by ten. it's such a fucking cute song -

and then some of jungkook's personality/the stuff that happened in the story are based on one of my college friends (JUST FRIENDS). we used to spend all night painting in his studio instead of doing our poetry assignments lol and we actually tried developing film at his house (and he DID fuck it up by picking the wrong type of film). i often incorporate real-life experiences into my stories cuz i think it makes them feel more real (while, of course, taking some creative liberties cuz my life isn't THAT interesting)

Why do you enjoy writing fanfiction?

ughhh i just love to write. i studied poetry in college, but i've always loved doing short prose pieces ever since i was really young (i started off on writing roleplay sites, as well as harry potter fanfic). i personally think i'm much better at poetry - like, the real shit i write, not the silly stuff in PMN lol, but i just get that itch to create stories and characters. i just have to let it out or my brain will actually explode. writing is literally a necessity for me. when i don't have the time to do it, i really get irritable, like some restless energy sort of? idk how to explain it

and it's SO NICE to have a community of people who also enjoy writing, so we can share and learn from each other

I finally gave TAP and Nightwalker a chance (only the title tracks)

First of all, people like to drag 7Dream for “acting cute”, but no one said anything about Taeyong acting cute on the Tap music video, cause it was quite cringe.

Aside from the song being shalala 2.0, there’s not much flavor to it, It been a while since the last time I liked one of his songs and really was hoping for something more chill with vibes like Long Flight, but I guess “viral TikTok” songs are the trend now! No wonder why it kinda tanked 🤷🏽‍♂️

Nightwalker… Meh… I don’t like Ten music since PMN, this is just another average Ten song, English lyrics, about love/s3x, the word “girl” randomly on the song, “dark” concept and a lot of dancing, he went for the safest option 🥱

Honestly, this was just a quick fic, not proof read, didn't really think either. I just kinda wrote it while listening to PMN, so I hope it doesn't suck balls. If it does welp, my bad 😂 Pairing : Ten x Reader Warnings : 18+, sex in his art studio- Word count : 676

The feeling of Ten’s hands along your body was enough to set your skin on fire; it probably would have been if it wasn’t for the cold paint on his hands that he spread across your bare chest. You didn’t think showing up to his art studio would end up like this. You had gone to see how your boyfriend was doing with his newest project after you learned he was doing through a creative block, something that wasn’t easy for him. Ten was someone who loved to express himself through art, but with being stressed from schedules, he found himself in a slump that you wanted nothing more than to get him out of. A quick kiss on your lips led to being more heated, his hands greedily grabbed at your clothes, your teeth clashing before his own sunk in on the soft skin of your bottom lip, his actions leading you to believe he was more frustrated than you thought. The scene quickly heated up; the thoughts of him taking you right in his studio affected you more than you thought it ever would. The neediness shared between you ended up in an open tub of paint being knocked over in the rush of Ten trying to find a surface to pin you against. You pulled your lips away from his, expecting him to rush and try to clean up what he could; instead, he just looked at the newly replaced tarp on the ground that was now covered in fresh blue paint and back at you, a slight smirk on his face. You raised an eyebrow at his expression, not being able to sense what he was thinking. ‘’I’ve got an idea…’’ he said before bringing his lips back to yours.
