Well this fic is me giving into temptation instead of writing like any of the longer more pressing fic ideas I have going ahshsh

This scene popped into my mind and I feel like I should find someplace to put it. Maybe it could go in proposal fic?

“Dad?”  Buck’s head does a little swivel around the room at Christopher’s voice. “Think he’s in the backyard, kid.”  “No-“ Chris frowns a little, coming close enough to tug on Buck’s sleeve. “I mean… Dad. Buck, Dad.” Buck blinks, once and then several times very rapidly. This morning Eddie had told him Christopher wanted to try something, smiling a mischievous little smile as he’d given him the mysterious heads up, but Buck hadn’t expected this. He swallows and tries to play it cool even as tears are forming in his eyes. “Oh- uh- Yeah?” “Can I go play Minecraft? Dennis and Leah said they were going to be online.” Chris’ face is so open and innocent, like he maybe just forgot its chore day in the Diaz house and last Buck checked he hadn’t even really started on his room yet. “Please, Dad?”  Buck’s still watery eyes narrow. “You’re a little bit evil,” he says, pointing at him. Chris just keeps smiling serenely like he’s never even heard of the concept of weaseling out of responsibilities, never even thought about emotionally bribing his poor old Buck. “Dad?" Biiiig eyes. "Can I?”  “… No?” It comes out warbly and high pitched and completely unsure.  "No to what?" Eddie comes down the hallway, wiping dirty hands on his old worn chore day jeans.  "Nothing," Chris says, innocently, beginning to giggle. He full on cackles as Buck loops an arm around him and gives him a gentle noogie. "You gremlin," Buck grins, holding the kid as he squirms. He looks up at Eddie, who's smiling down at the two of them so fondly. Dad? Buck mouths, feeling once again the sort of freefall swoop he gets in his stomach whenever he finds a new way the Diaz family have seamlessly fit him into their lives. Eddie does a little head tilt nod, smile even warmer. Then his eyebrows scrunch up and he points to Chris. What did he do? Buck shakes his head with an eye roll that does nothing to dim how happy he's sure he looks. "You gotta clean your room, child o' mine, video games later."  "Fine," Chris says, voice still laced with laughter. Buck loosens his hold to let him go get on with it, but pulls him into something more like a hug before he does. "Hey," he says, overwhelmed for a moment by how big this kid has grown. He'd been so small, a million years ago in a school parking lot after an earthquake. "I love you so much." Buck feels Chris' smile where he presses it into Buck's shoulder. "Love you too, Dad."

And then I guess every current wip is kind of tempting me from every other one... I should list 'em out and find some writing game to reblog to make you guys bully me into working on them.

i'm still in the thick of it with kinktober so i can't really afford to get distracted by anything other than kinktober BUT !!! here are a few fics that are trying to sway me away

coffee shop au — this has been on my mind lately, AU where eddie stumbles upon barista buck who moved to LA to be near Maddie. eddie is exhausted the first time he meets buck and is unintentionally kind of rude but buck is like hmm i'll give the pretty boy a chance and is just extra nice to him instead of being salty. eddie comes back to apologize and eventually they fall in loooove

reckless buck/hit by a car — buck is reckless on a call, he and eddie get into an argument, buck walks out to cool off and gets hit by a car (i'm a sucker for the pain of bleeding out on the phone to your beloved) ((no mcd tho dw))

eddie nightmare fic — buck comforts eddie after a nightmare and its just really soft

non-firefighter!buck/firefighter eddie — AU where buck isn't a firefighter but keeps getting into accidents/getting hurt and eddie like dude why are you always bleeding when i see you

finally, the tangled au — i just think that eddie has such flynn rider vibes and buckaroo is rapunzel and ugh i can't wait to write this

Temptation Tuesday

Okay so it’s only been Tuesday for 40ish minutes but I’m working tomorrow so I’m posting early. I’m back again with the Buddie Mafia Au fic, it’s tempting me more and more each day but I have to finish my Cowboy/Rodeo AU before I can start on it. Even so, I’ve been collecting ideas, little moments and photo inspirations so here it is:

Star-crossed lovers, Eddie and Buck come from two warring crime families. The Diaz family is run by Eddie's Tio and the Nash family is run by Bobby Nash. Both men are destined to inherit the family business and must prove their worth. A chance encounter and a night spent together have them questioning everything and now they must figure out if love is worth dying for.

"To love you is to choose death," Eddie says

He can see Buck's face crumble, heart-shattering against the ground from where Eddie has dropped it. He aches to pick up all the pieces and glue them back together. In choosing Buck he would not only bring death to himself but Chris and Buck too and he wouldn't, couldn't do that. A broken heart is better than being six feet deep in the ground.

"So what do you choose?" Buck asks

"For you mi amor, I choose death" Eddie says and they both know what that means, I choose you, in spite of our families, war and death. I choose death because loving you is worth dying for.

At first glance, you wouldn't know that the tattoos matched for one Buck's is two solid bands around his right forearm and Eddie’s is writing that wraps around his left. But when they stand next to each other, Buck on the left, Eddie always on his right, the bands line up. Buck's are for Eddie and Chris, his boys. Eddie is a quote por ti mi amor, elijo la muerte (For you my love, I choose death) for those are the word Eddie said when he choose Buck, choose him in spite of family, war and death. They wear no other mark of their devotion to one another, no rings, it is too dangerous in their line of work to so clearly mark one's heart when it is outside of one's body but they had indulged in these tattoos that no one knows what they mean outside of their innermost trusted circle.

Well, I'm finally feeling better after really bad time and work on my vegas fic(really really slow, but it's it progress!), but I'm really temptated by:

1. Buck sold his soul (or better say life). I think I'm going to participate in angst autumn fest so I almost done with planning plot. It's going to be so long and heavy angst if I will succeed (🤞). I for know call it "I'm prepared to sacrifice my life(I would gladly do it twice"). Eddie is dead, Buck in pain, Universe is tired and making appearance. It tells Buck it can save Eddie , but Buck will die year after if Eddie wouldn't say "I love you". It's going to be big 5s and 6s till 6x12 rewrite of canon situations. Both Buck and Eddie would have to deal with a lot of things and ofc death of each other. (Please send me all the love, patience, confidence, tea and cookies you can🥺)

2. After 6s fic (for now I call it "I want to love you(I'm not sure I can believe it cause my demons louder than you")) lines I posted for no context. I did some more lines and thought more about plot, but it's too much work and I try to leave it after I will finally end vegas: now I can say it's going to be angst too, cause Eddie would say no to Buck, Buck would be sad and try to get over him, Eddie thinks he's not enough for Buck's real love, some little Buck whump. So angst, insecurities, misunderstanding.

3. Buck spoils Chris and platonic "I love you". Both 5+1 are with planned plot so I just need to write them and it's not leaving my brain

4. Presumed dead Buck. Yes, I'm sad and maybe a little bit evil, but tell me you don't love angst, I dare you. 0 plot for now, just idea about this angst (need Eddie in tears sorry)

5. Villain Eddie, hero Buck. 0 plot just vibe in my head

so i am trying to focus on my original fiction (my queer (mainly wlw) pirate novel, my play called GENDERENVY, my sitcom about my evil hellhound of a dog) for my last summer before i graduate but obviously fic is an unmoving parasite on my brain so you can have a little extract of the fic i most want to write but absolutely cannot continue for some reason:

Somebody sits down beside him. A woman of around his age who is beautiful—no other way to put it—and only vaguely familiar like an itch in the back of his skull. She's short, probably wouldn't even reach his shoulders if they were to stand, pale skin and a freckled face, piercing green eyes and red hair so dark it almost looks purple until the sunlight catches it. She smiles at him when she catches him looking, something searching on her face like she's trying to place him just as much as he's trying to place her.

"Oh, you're Buck, right?" she asks with a dazzling moment of realisation. "Christopher's dad?"

Ah.

"Oh, um, no, not exactly," he mumbles. "I mean, yes, I'm Buck, and I'm here for Christopher." He wrinkles his nose at himself, squinting slightly in the glare of the afternoon sun. "Not, like, here for him here, you know? I'm not, like, kidnapping him. And I'm not-not his dad?" He clears his throat and glances back at the entrance, checking his watch as his leg starts to bounce. "I mean, I'm not his dad. I'm his dad's best friend. And Christopher's best friend too." She tilts her head at him, eyes narrowing with a scrutiny that only makes the words keep coming. "But, uh, not in, like, a no responsibility way. I'm also kind of his guardian? Or, well, not yet. That only ever happens if Eddie dies. Which, um." He swallows loudly, fear bitter as bile and thick as mucus in the back of his throat. "Fingers crossed that that won't happen." There's an awkward laugh as Buck rubs at the back of his neck. "I'm..." He sighs, shoulders drooping. "I'm Christopher's Buck."

When he turns back to her, he's expecting her own awkward smile or amused laugh; that's normally how these things unfold. Although Buck has never quite beefed it that spectacularly before. Instead, when he returns his attention to her, there's a dazed sort of understanding on her face. That's when he sees a glimpse of her with one of Christopher's friends at the last bake sale.

"You're Charlotte's mom, right?" he asks, immediately cursing himself when her cheeks turn red in much the same way he's sure his did at her own assumptions.

(Ass = you and me, Buck thinks.)

"I'm, um, Dina." She introduces herself with a nervous nod, folding her arms over her chest. "Charlotte's mom's best friend," she clarifies with a meaningful look. "And Charlotte's best friend. And, also, a kind of co-parent, I guess?" She bites her lip and looks over at the school doors just like he had. "Legal guardian in the event of Morgan's death too." She nods once again, short and sharp and final, turning to him with something scared and hopeful on her face. "Are you in love with Eddie?"

Before Buck can even splutter in reply, the school bell rings and the doors fly open on a crowd of over-excited children ready to go home and watch TV or play video games until their heads hurt. Buck should probably be looking for Chris, but he can't tear his wide eyes away from Dina's anxious anticipation as she waits for an answer.

"W-what?" he breathes out. For all of these misunderstandings he's been through, even outside of the school, nobody has ever called him out on it before. "I'm not... Why would you... He's not... We're not—"

"Oh, thank God." She sighs happily, a sad grin stretching across her face. "I'm in love with mine too."

Two things have been tempting me lately

Firefighter calendar fic - some of you know about this, but I'm planning on having the boys kind of competing for the calendar again but this time Eddie and Buck decide to send in one submission with the both of them, cause they are so much hotter together, right? So they take some sexy pics together which has some pretty fun results

Different first meeting au - this would be set sometime during s3 I guess, but I wanna have Eddie and Buck (who work at different stations) run into each other every now and then during emergencies, then get together to have drinks one night and hook up, and the next day hey what do you know but they see each other at the parent teacher conference for their kids who absolutely love each other. Buck will have a daughter who is like a year or two younger than Chris.

I recently gave into temptation and temporarily abandoned the wedding fic in favor of army marriage of convenience au which I will NOT stop writing until it’s done, buuut I have a few ideas which might turn my head from the wedding fic once again

Wild West au: this is purely just vibes atm which may or may not include one of them as an outlaw

Buck gets trapped: idk I had a dream set in s7 where Buck got trapped and for some reason it would take them a few days to get to him not knowing if he’s okay, and Eddie completely spirals buuuut I’d have to figure out the details lmao

Road Trip: this one is also mostly vibes aksjdhs I kinda want it to be kinda cathartic so maybe Buck’s dad died and they’re driving to PA together? Long hours in the car and nights at shitty motels, slowly realizing that they love each other

as always, new ideas tempt me away from finishing the holiday fic (it's gonna be done so soon tho and I'll stop being annoying about it istg lmao)

only two new ideas today, but all the ones from last temptation tuesday (and the previous ones lol) are still constantly tempting me haha:

the possessive buddie smut inspired by mgk's bad things (particularly the pre-chorus👀) - that's already in the works obvi lol

also, the possessive buddie idea was originally for fwb but both in love and pining - but clearly something else happened when I started writing 😂 might wanna revisit that one day tho 👀

another new smut idea, also inspired by mgk's song, 'the break up', but like only one line lol - basically, buddie car sex (no idea for a plot yet, just this lol)

Currently just kind of thinking of Buck and Chris hanging out on the couch playing video games or talking about stuff or whatever. That's his dad! That's basically his dad! I like to think they've been pretty cuddly ever since the tsunami. And like Eddie seeing Buck watch him with that kind of awed dad look as Chris does big little kid giggles he's mostly grown out of. Good heart achey domestic stuff, you know?

uh.... so i had a LOT of ideas today while cleaning out my room....

buck works for one of those sex line call center things and eddie is horny and depressed after his divorce idk

buck works at the horse therapy place (the one from s5 you know the one) and eddie is kinda in love with him. chris is definitely in love with him and the horses.

buck is a detective? sent into witness protection after being involved in this big crime. he ends up in this small town and falling in love with the guy running the only coffee store there.

AU in which Eddie is a cop, Buck is either a criminal or being framed and things happen

an avengers au

single girl dad buck crashes all of eddie's date without realizing he's doing it (it's okay, eddie kinda loves him for it)

5 times they have sex in public spaces +1 time they almost get caught

buck and eddie were buddies in the army and they were in the same helicopter accident. buck is the only one alive years later when eddie is falling apart and his therapist suggest he should call his ex army partners.

buck and eddie both get high

eddie is stuck on a long train journey from texas to los angeles and can't help but find the guy he's eavesdropping in on more than a little intriguing (in like: the guy clearly is a mess but in a charming, endearing way and eddie is really nosy and can't stay away from chisme)

eddie is part of the SWAT team trying to handle the bomb in an ambulance and buck is the annoying paramedic who won't leave him do his job in peace

One thing that rotted my brain last night was Bucks face when he held the baby, so I’m being strongly tempted to write Girl dad buck, where a past hook up left their baby after giving birth and he’s called to take responsibility of it 🥰 I might’ve started an outline already for this 😂😂😂 it counts as temptation cause I’m supposed to be working on my wips with actual datelines 😂
