I saw someone on reddit post something along the lines of "the weather in Korea gets really dry, so rather than lotion Koreans tend to apply something called '핸드크림' instead."

Why do people obsessed with South Korea insist on talking like this? You wanna know what that bit says? It literally says "hand cream" spelled out phonetically in hangeul. Why on earth would you choose to spell it out in hangeul and make it sound like some fancy magic product rather than just saying "hand cream", which is literally what it says.

I saw someone else say "is it offensive if I wear 한복 for a photo?" like guys. If you're asking questions to Koreans IN ENGLISH you might as well just say hanbok. You're speaking English to them in the first place, its not like you're helping them understand. You're just being weird about their language and culture to a condescending level.

Like would you also ask Japanese people where to get good 拉麺 in Tokyo or would you just say ramen like a normal person

Don't get me wrong learning languages and engaging with cultures is of course a good thing. But this is not that, this is just being a dweeb.
