It’s felt like ages since we last got to spend any personal time together with the move and all, are you fairing alright, dear?  “  Ever since Shoka had joined the reapers, ever since her training, Ayano’s had a bit of a soft spot for her, as if she had been some long lost younger sibling she’d long to protect, to teach. She only wanted the best for her at the end of it all and can see how difficult the adjustment has been in her expression. In the way she responds to her. In so many ways.

Despite her own concerns, the last thing she’d want is for Shoka to worry more than she more than likely had been already.  “  But enough about him for now,  “  the first hand is finished and she curls her fingers, not enough to risk forcing the wet paint staining skin or something else but to admire the work and blow against it, leaning the other hand her way so she can begin to paint that one.

          Rhyme must have roamed off in their own little world again. Must have gotten lost in the ramble while explaining how the latest patch update had been a good thing for their favor, how her cheeks flush the more excited she seems to be. When’s the last time they got to feel such a rush? Passion sparkles in blue eyes the more the newfound dream is expanded upon. It’s been so long after all. So long since Rhyme can remember feeling this way that it’s easy to get lost when someone wants to know more about it. 

It’s why it’s so easy for them to have been caught off guard when dreamy eyes catch a swift, blurred version moving in close and suddenly? There’s a....kiss? Yeah, it’s a kiss alright. Sees that Shoka has eased in and pressed lips to a cheek and it’s enough to paint the pink a slightly darker shade of red. It stops Rhyme, did she really get lost again?

Did it really matter when Shoka found her again? Brought them back to reality, hearing something about being cute which only leads the flushed features to burn more.

     It had been his idea to play, having said that Shoka could use the practice with her brain ( in the most affectionate way he could ). Not many entertained his love for the game save for a few other Reapers here and there who thought they were hot shit or who he knew well. The difference between those times and now was that he was taking it easy on Shoka in order to teach her how to play. Even if she was still struggling to grasp it. 

     “Ha! I’ve even been goin’ easy on ya!” He can’t help but to laugh as she was accusing him of being a bad teacher. He was moving one large hand, pointing to the pieces that she had just set down on the board, only having allowed her to flip two of his own. “The problem ya got is the fact you ain’t thinkin’! Take this spot for example,” he pokes the piece. “It’s only closin’ in on those two discs that you flipped with one of your other pieces. That’s why you aren’t gonna be able to flip mine. If you had put it here,” he was moving his finger to tap an empty spot where she would have had a much better chance at flipping more than two of his discs. “You place black here, and you woulda gotten so many more. Buuuuut,” 

     Click. He sets down a piece of his own, allowing him to flip three of hers. 

     “Better luck next time. Your move.” It isn’t said with malice, even a brotherly grin was plastered on his face.

          #SKULLREAPED is an independent, highly selective, and mutuals-only roleplay blog for BITŌ “BEAT” DAISUKENOJŌ of Square Enix’s THE WORLD ENDS WITH YOU franchise written by CECE.

          Previously established in January 2017 and written under the url @wingedeath! Although there may be some anime influences in my portrayal of Beat, my blog is primarily game-based and heavily reliant on headcanons.

          If you’re here, you probably already know that The World Ends With You deals with a great deal of heavy subject matter including death, depression, self-worth, suicide, religious themes, [etc].           “  You know if we keep taking these breaks, it’s going to take us a lot longer to catch your accounts up to where we left off right?  “  Rindo’s completely lost against the stats he’s scrolling through on the mobile app loaded to the joint game they had been heading out to play. Recalls her pleading when she had mentioned everything had been gone and she had to create a new profile from scratch. He’s reaching to adjust his mask around his face, fixing it up so that it doesn’t fall when he suddenly feels the shift in weight against his side, it’s light, he thinks. Slides down the mobile device to glance to his partner who had....

......fallen asleep? How long had they been sitting at the park bench? When did she mention being tired? Did she mention being sleepy? At some point had he missed that when she was the one who mentioned they should take a break to begin with? Shoot. He can’t recall the events which brought them to where they currently sat. All he knows is that....she looks peaceful with her eyes shut and breathing light and it amazes him how relaxed she can be against him. It sparks a fluttering that he cannot quite pinpoint but he does find himself needing to inhale to catch air, phone tucked away and once again fidgeting with his mask to give his hands something to do.

It....probably wouldn’t have been a good idea to wake her up, especially if she had just dozed off not too long ago. Maybe he should consider sending a text for assistance from someone like Fret? No, he’d never hear the end of it. So instead, he accepts his fate, leans back more against the park bench but does his best to ensure his motions don’t disrupt her. Brown eyes look to her again.....she is kinda cute like this....huh?

         It started with a playful text message. Rhyme sent something to Shoka in a creative little digital envelope that when it popped open  (  and cute confetti sprinkled across the screen mixed with cute black cat designs  ), it gave directions to where their plan for the day would be located. An arcade. Rhyme tugs down at their hat hoping they got the message alright and would show up soon. Fingers brush against the rim and it isn’t until they hear a familiar voice that they perk up, looking to see she showed up.  

“ Hey! You made it!  “  Lips twitch to a soft expression, a light smile paints freckled features as they approach, gesturing to where they were planning to spend the start of their day at. Rhyme brushes her foot against pavement to give themselves something to do in the moment before leaning in to take her hand. /  @telereaped​ grooved for a starter!
