Erwin Smith

-Call Sign: "Game-Master", aka "Games"

-Position: Radar Intercept Officer (RIO), aka Weapon System Officer (WSO)

-Partner: Levi Ackerman

-Style: As a RIO, Erwin is very tactical and tends to stay very calm and collected when they hit rough air. He primarily leads missions, staying in charge of weapons and how they are employed. His aviation helmet is dark green and black, with "Game" written on the left and "Master" on the right in silver letters.

Levi Ackerman

-Call Sign: "Wings"

-Position: Naval Aviator

-Partner: Erwin Smith

-Style: This shouldn't be a shocker, but Levi is an amazing pilot. He doesn't always stick to the book and rules, which can get him in trouble with the captains. He doesn't mind doing risky and sharp turns and dives to get into tone range on the MiGs, which makes him a hazard when he's being dangerous. It keeps enemies on their toes, and he has Erwin's full trust as a pilot. Levi's aviation helmet is dark grey and black, with "Wings" directly above his forehead.

Zeke Yeager

-Call Sign: "Beastboy", aka "Beast"

-Position: Naval Aviator

-Partner: Porco Galliard

-Style: He flies like Iceman- to the book, and to the rules. He gets very upset with Levi when Levi dashes off of his wing to try to get the instructors during tests, leaving him unguarded. But he's still a strong pilot, and insanely good at getting into tone range. His helmet is brown, with "Beast" on the right side of his helmet, and "Boy" on the left side, back beside his temples.

Reiner Braun

-Call Sign: "Chainmail"

-Position: Naval Aviator

-Partner: Jean Kirstein

-Style: Reiner is an...interesting pilot. He can get shaken up by seeing too many MiGs, or gettting into the jet wash during training. But Jean keeps him in the game, and the two make a surprisingly good pair with Jean's natural leadership. Reiner's aviation helment is a deep red with small chainlinks spelling out "Chainmail" above his brow.

Jean Kirstein

-Call Sign: "Little John", aka "Horse-Face"

-Position: Radar Intercept Officer (RIO), aka Weapon System Officer (WSO)

-Partner: Reiner Braun

-Style: Jean is one of the best RIOs in Top Gun's flight school. He can stay calm, cool, and collected as he manages the weapons and the incoming bogeys on the screen. He had actually gotten into Top Gun as a pilot, but was told by one of the instructors he had the capability to be a great RIO. Jean's aviation helmet is navy blue, with "Little John" in gold letters running down each side of his head.

Porco Galliard

-Call Sign: "Barrow", aka "Pig-Sty"

-Position: Radar Intercept Officer (RIO), aka Weapon System Officer (WSO)

-Partner: Zeke Yeager

-Style: Porco is a RIO for one and one reason only- his brother Marcel had been his pilot before he was tragically killed in a training accident. He is extremely cautious when looking for bogeys and trying to pick MiGs out of the sky. He works well with Zeke and likes to stick to the rules to avoid more casualties. Porco's helmet is pink and mostly black, with "Barrow" across his brow.

KUROO TETSURO stays up studying with you on facetime until midnight, even though you had a big day the next day. the two of you spent time talking about your topics of academics, of course, but also everything that interested you in between. regardless of the fact that the sleep has seeped into his voice and his ideas are getting a little hazy, he puts in the work and greets you goodnight with the sweetest voice when you finally do part ways.

OIKAWA TOORU gives you the latest gossip about anything he can possibly discover. he sits right by you, an amused grin on his face as he recounts all the things he heard recently, and feeding off your reactions to only continue the flow of information. time flies that way, and if you see the person in the hallway, you glance at each other in amusement before suppressing giggles.

IWAIZUMI HAJIME takes your side when somebody wrongs you. regardless of whether it’s someone you know well or perhaps even someone who caused you a minor inconvenience, he’ll always hear out your side of the story, even going as far as relating his own experiences as well!

MIYA ATSUMU plays games with you, whether it be a simple trivia when there’s a substitute, or sending you game pigeons from time to time. he’s competitive for sure, and when he wins he gloats playfully before you eventually beat him and remind him not let his ego get too inflated. even then, those games are some of the highlights of your freer days, and deep down, you know it wouldn’t be the same with anyone else.

Akaashi’s hand takes up the space of your spine as you both lie in bed, his or yours, you don’t remember, too lost in the fingers inching across the surface of your skin with no particular direction — it’s as if you are a homing beacon and there is nowhere to go but here, here, here as his fingers relive the patterns of their route over and over.

He’s here, you note, even after a night like this, where strangers seldom are, when the flurry of too fast beating hearts and frenzied bodies has died down, and he’d still been kind.

You imagine him a lantern; strange, you know, but he’s the warm light on a cold winter’s edge, and you, the moth so destined to fall into the fire — he’s the inevitable, you realize, there is something so powerful about always knowing who your home is, even when you’ve just met.

“I don’t normally do this,” he tells you, his quiet voice echoing through the room, underneath the whispers of the breeze flicking through the curtains, “The picking up of beautiful strangers.”

The question itself is easy, as fleeting as a butterfly on summer’s wing and yet his silence after makes you pause, “...So why haven’t you?”

“Do you believe in love at first sight?”

“Why?”

“Because I think meeting you proved to me it exists,” he jokes, and you catch the mirth in his tone, but it tells you he means it, so you smile and give him the answer, like the moth to the flame, and you take it upon yourself to kiss him again.

It’s soft and quick and warm and slow all at once and things don’t make any sense but fit right into place as his hand comes up to the back of your neck, not gripping, just remaining. It’s the anchor that keeps you grounded to his taste; the hint of pineapple from the last drink you’d shared, and for a moment all that fills your senses is bliss — twenty seconds of inescapable bliss that is Akaashi Keiji — a name which partly means success — and you think is fitting for one who is so good at what he does.

If this is what he calls it, then you are lost to the whims of your desire, “I think you could change my mind. And if not at first sight, maybe love at second, or third or fourth,”

He kisses you again, tender and sweet and long, longer than you think a stranger would, “I’d love to try.”

a/n: this is the part that I've completely forgot to add in last night to my fic "Of Forts and Cards on a Rainy Night" (due to excitement? sorry qwq), feat. Kuroo, before the bonus part. Ugh dammit smh /gen (will edit/add this in to the main fic i'm sorry)

[07:19. Kozume Residence.]

“Kenma! Y/N! Kenma!” Kuroo Tetsurou kept on calling both your names while continuously knocking on the front door of your house, but got no response. “Oi…!” He sighed, fishing his phone out from his coat pocket before realizing he couldn’t contact you both, and cursed as he put it back inside. Telephone lines were still down, but the power supply’s back. The rain had somehow slowly ebbed a few hours earlier, the downpour stopping completely about an hour ago.

Kuroo sighed again and fished the spare house key Kenma gave to him years ago after the latter moved in from his parents’ house (“...as a last resort,” he said to the former Nekoma captain), inserting it into the key slot before turning the doorknob and letting himself inside.

“Kenma… Y/N…,” he hollered across the semi-dark and quiet hallway, noticing both your shoes neatly arranged in the entranceway while removing his own shoes and slipping into some fuzzy cat slippers. Kuroo shuffled his feet towards the hallway until he saw the door to the living room slide open.

“Oya oya? Lookit here…” The sports promoter’s eyes widened at what he saw inside the living room. Never in the years he had visited Kenma’s house did he see a simple yet beautifully-built fort, blankets and scattered throw pillows and all. There were a few long-snuffed candles all over the room far away from the fort, and—Kuroo found this one endearing—his childhood friend sleeping beside you, cuddling you like a koala, his face mushed into your chest. You, on the other hand, had your chin perched atop his head, your arms and left leg wrapped around Kenma also. Both of you looked so cute sleeping like this, a few soft snores and dreamy mumbles coming from you two.

Kuroo grinned at the scene and grabbed his phone again, opening the Camera app… and the shutter went off.

The crowd’s cheers intensified as the MSBY Black Jackals made their way onto the court. The very gym was filled with an energy that was nothing short of electric as the team’s members caught your eye, and were broadcasted onto the large screens that surrounded the court. It was always this way before big games, the thrill of the upcoming match enough to make you clap alongside the others in support.

Bokuto’s large grin was the first thing you caught sight of, wide and every so jubilant when you turned to view Atsumu, his triumphant and confident aura palpable to the entire population that inhabited the gym. Your eyes finally landed on your husband, his twinkling eyes and red hair easy to spot amongst the rest of the players.

Hinata Shoyo. You’d met him back in school, when he had simply been a vivacious boy with big dreams, dreams that were finally fulfilled and accomplished as he stood amongst his teammates, playing the game he loved with his entire being, You’d seen him grow, consistently improving to get where he was, and he had always joked that he’d be bringing you along for the ride whether you wanted to or not.

Even from the court, his eyes sought yours out eagerly, finally meeting yours with a soft smile as he brought his lips to his wedding ring that hung on a necklace, always with him, and an ever present reminder of how he’d dedicate himself, his game, and his victories to you, now, tomorrow, and forever.

“And it seems that Hinata Shoyo has done his pre-game ritual of dedicating his game to his lovely spouse, Hinata Y/N! A round of applause for the happy couple!” The commentator announced, the crowd’s cheers increasing in volume as you felt your face heat up, a wide smile and a warm heart at the fact that no matter what, Shoyo would always give his best to you.
