The Ford and Charles Stewart Mott Foundations funded Pursuing the Dream: What Helps Poor Children and Their Families Succeed. I photographed these girls at Girls Inc's summer camp in Costa Mesa, CA. Girls Incorporated helps girls ages 9 to 18 avoid early sexual activity and pregnancy. National assessment showed a 50% drop in pregnancy rate and a significant delay in initiation of intercourse among young teens.

Ignorance is not a bliss. My goal is to provide education and bring more information about pregnancy prevention, adoption, abortion, and having a baby. Knowledge is power, especially when faced with tough choices like teen pregnancy. Seeking advice is important, but be mindful of the source. In this video, I share my experience and the lessons I learned.

"The Worm in the Apple" (The Stories of John Cheever)
Better. This one is better. It also feels very meta or self-parodying as John Cheever takes a break from his usual bad marriages and drunks of Shady Hill to tell a story about the Crutchmans, a perfectly happy couple with children who grow up healthy.
Two things before I go on. First I think that the reason why George on Seinfeld thinks that having an affair is adult is a generation gap thing. The generation gap didn't end with the 60s when all the hippies decided to go corporate.
I know. I know. I'm going to keep talking about tensions between Baby Boomers and "The Greatest Generation" with the "greatest generation" being a bunch of fuck ups who were scarred by a war that they had to approach with toxic positivity after it was over. The Great War. The big one. The best years of our lives. And oh yeah, no one is talking about it because they went through some fucking trauma.
So George thinking that an affair is adult is because the "greatest generation" was the last generation that thought that it was stuck in their marriages, so of course they had affairs. And that dumbass question "Why don't marriages last?" has an easy answer. THey don't have to. No one has to stay in a miserable marriage. So the Baby Boomers just got divorced and after the Baby Boom we can experiment. Group marriages, polyamory, monogamish, cuckolding, key parties, weird religious culty marriages, etc.
There was a second thing but I forgot it.
So this story is funny because Cheever has a narrator wondering what the fuck is wrong with this couple. When is the other shoe going to drop? Like maybe the war will tear them apart. Maybe she makes too much money. Maybe he will get drunk.
There's also a part where everyone wonders why neither husband nor wife has an affair. Yeah, that greatest generation cheated fits here (but most of the Cheever stories have infidelity and drinking). Were they prudes? Were they monogamous?
And their children - well they had some problems but they turned out ok. Sure the daughter ran off with a gardener's son and was pregnant when she married and the son was held back a year, but overall they were fine.
This is a slight story, which makes sense because it's a one joke story where the major point is that this is a happy couple so what the hell are they doing in a Cheever story? But it was what I needed after that damn bus story.

If mpreg is real, at what year do you think john would’ve impregnated paul 🫃? (Psst you can pick more than 1 year)
they would’ve had to come home from hamburg so quickly due to #teenpregnancy!!
I think before then paul was of a more sound mind and would’ve always made him pull out/barely let john fuck him at all.

Gaia Progress #4: The Greek Goddess Legacy Challenge
Tumblr media
Hii! Here with an update on Gaia and her fam. As you can see a lot has happened, let's dive into it!
Tumblr media
Gaia told Aitna about Ouranos' cheating and told her about the kiss with Pontus. Aitna told her to just divorce Ouranos, but Gaia feels like she can't do that. She did something wrong as well, after all. And what about her kids? What happens to them if they divorce?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gaia, now 39, took some pictures of Rhea, 17, in her 2nd trimester. To remember how it was to be pregnant and to be so beautiful as a mama. She says she wished Ouranos had taken a few of her when she was pregnant with Rhea, to remember how she looked then.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile these two 9-year-old dramaqueens made their friendship one of two besties. Look at these cuties.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gaia and Charissa took Adonis and Rhea to the humor and Hijinks festival, to celebrate their pregnancy and love. They loved seeing the fireworks (not. they didn't work :(). Gaia gave Rhea some money to go to parenthood classes and buy some things for her baby.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next day, they celebrated Crius' birthday. Our little sad boy became a slightly older sad boy. Look at him, just like his father. Wonder if he'll do some of the same stupid things. As a teen, his father becomes instantly more accepting of him. A feeling Crius now craves and will start to fight for. He got the woohoo and responsibility talk for his birthday from his father. Ouranos didn't want another embarassing teenpregnancy in his family. Luckily, Crius is not one to dissapoint.
Tumblr media
And he thought, handsome face, woohoo talk and a crush that is waiting for me? Let me call Jordan and let me ask her on a date. And like-minded Jordan said yes. Here is the result. Little babies, hope they can find happiness together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When we came back home, it turned out Rhea had been in Labour this whole time. Gaia raced her to the hospital and with the expert care of her collegues, Rhea gave birth to little Aurora Ouraea.
