Teen Wolf Femslash Tournament

Welcome, welcome, gather 'round! Amid the different tournaments I've seen going around, I wanted to highlight the women of Beacon Hills in a tournament bracket! Here's the logistics:

16 F/F pairings will go head-to-head, in a series of week-long rounds.

Round 1: 16 pairings to determine final 8 (January 20) Round 2: 8 pairings to determine final 4 (January 27) Round 3: 8 pairings to determine final 2 (February 3) Round 4: Deciding round (February 10)

Pairings were chosen based on if there was at least one scene of them interacting in the show.

Feel free to share each poll as far as you'd like! The first round will be released tomorrow, and I'll have these go out on a Saturday rotation.

A less-than-wanted, but much needed update: 

In 2024, Elle and I attempted six IUI cycles with our provider. The first five attempts led to negative results. Our sixth attempt was our first (albeit short-lived) positive, and we celebrated Christmas with high hopes. Unfortunately, we ended our 2024 with a miscarriage. We’ve taken time to grieve our loss, and we have discussed next steps with our provider. 

Initially, our insurance company denied covering any part of our fertility treatments until we completed at least six out-of-pocket IUI cycles (with the hopes that one would be successful.) Unfortunately, that was obviously not the case. 

Because these IUI cycles were unsuccessful, our provider recommended that we move forward with a different, more intensive approach, the next step being In Vitro Fertilization (or IVF). 

Over the next few months, Elle will be enduring a horrifying amount of blood work, two weeks of new medication, two more weeks of daily injections, a surgical procedure under anesthesia for egg retrieval along with reimplantation, all while trying to handle the anxiety of it all. 

With that said, we are now able to resubmit to insurance, but only some of this process will be covered by our insurance company. While we don’t know how much insurance will cover and how much we will need to contribute, whatever it is will be in addition to the $20,000 this process has already cost. (Not including the sanity we’ve probably lost throughout last year.) 

We are eternally grateful for the assistance we’ve been given from our fertility agency, our family, our friends, and even some friends of friends. The encouragement and support we’ve received throughout the year has been invaluable to us in this journey. While the last year left us a little discouraged, we are hopeful that this next step will be the one to help us achieve our dream.

Femslash February: Malira | Malia Tate x Kira Yukimura (Teen Wolf)

Coincidence is a word that Malia has heard a lot in her life. It was supposedly a coincidence when she just happened to meet Isaac in Paris the day that she arrived there. She's sure that was actually Scott's doing, not the universe. It was also supposedly a coincidence that Derek was staying at the same hotel as her during her weekend stay in Washington. She's pretty sure that was also Scott's doing, but also just down to Derek wanting to keep an eye out for her despite the numerous times she's told him not to bother.

In her eyes, coincidences do not exist. No divine intervention from the universe, no fate or destiny or anything like that. Just people and their actions. But when she walks into a bar in the backside of Arizona and the first person she lays eyes on is not a stranger, she wonders. Just for a second, she wonders if maybe all that science-y, philosophical stuff isn't complete bullcrap and maybe, just maybe, the universe does have some power to make things happen.

Because it's weird that after six years of trying to figure out where Kira went on her own, she has finally stumbled upon her when she wasn't even looking. But now she is. She's looking -- she can't stop, in fact.

"Kira!" she calls out before she can stop herself, but why would she anyway? Someone gets in her way and she shoves them roughly to the side, her heart skipping in fear of losing sight of her again.

To her relief, she's still there. Sitting at the bar with a backpack at her feet. Her hair is shorter. It's all Malia can focus on because it doesn't fit with the picture she remembers. She's even dressed differently -- she can't quite put her finger on what it is, but something is different. Too much is different.

Then Kira turns around and the way she looks at her isn't different at all, and suddenly it feels like there's a chance that this was meant to happen. This is where she was supposed to find her, at this time. She has no idea why but that doesn't matter. All that matters is that she is looking at Kira, and she is looking back at her. Maybe it's a coincidence. Maybe there's some kind of plan, but Malia only cares about her own.

She walks forward, shouldering people out of her way without taking her eyes off of Kira. Kira slides off of the stool, takes a step towards her, then Malia is in front of her and taking her face between her hands, and she's kissing her.

When she pulls back, she isn't sure what comes next. This is as far as her plan went, truth be told.

"Hi," she breathes out. "I missed you."

Kira blinks her big eyes back at her. Then she grins. "Me too."
