The White Queen – Coat and Hat from The Queen’s Gambit for Teen-Elder

Another piece of Queen's Gambit clothing. This time it is outerwear, based on the coat and hat that Beth wears in the final scene of the show. I love this outfit and the symbolism behind it, having Beth mimic the White Queen, the most powerful chess piece. It's a timeless set of outerwear that is sure to fit both modern and retro sims.

I tried my best with the bone assignements, and I think they're pretty good, but there will be some clipping in more extreme poses.

Dance Suite: A Maxis-Match Rococo Clothing Set For C-EF

This was inspired by my frustration with the Store's "Morning in the Garden dress," which is a decent approximation of a robe a la Francaise, if somewhat costume-y. The channels were poorly assigned, the mesh was nowhere near as wide as it ought to have been at the hips, there were no engageantes, but worst of all, there was no maternity morph for the young adults and adults! So I set out and made one. And then I adjusted the channels to make things much more fashionable. Because I can't be the only one to look at extant examples with mix-and-match stomachers, robes, and petticoats and think "YES PLEASE!"

Option one (seen in picture four) has a channel for the robe, the petticoat and bows, the stomacher, and the tucker (1), choker, and engageantes (2).

Option two has a channel for the robe, the bows, the stomacher and bows, and the tucker, choker, and engageantes.

Option three has a channel for the robe and stomacher, the bows, the petticoat, and the tucker, choker, and engageantes.

Option four has a channel for the robe and petticoat, the bows, the stomacher, and the tucker, choker, and engageantes.

This dress is available for Everyday, Formal, Career, Makeover, and Maternity for Teens (Courante), Young Adults and Adults (Allemande), and Elders (Sarabande).

And then I made a vaguely Rococo dress for the children, because I was sick of putting them in the Tudor dress, and they couldn't all wear Danjaley's dress all the time! The style could fit anywhere from, say, 1680 to 1780, though the polonaise-style ruffles might be more suitable for the 1770s-80s. It's darling, in my opinion.

Option one (not shown) has the original yellow gold rick-rack trim.

Option two has a new bronze rick-rack trim.

Option three has a new silver rick-rack trim.

All of the options have the same channels: bodice and skirt, sleeves, stomacher, and trimming.

This dress is available for Everyday, Formal, Career, and Makeover for Children (Gavotte).

There are some really harsh shoulder seams that I can't smooth out. Additionally, the child dress has a strange gap between the sleeve cap and the sleeve that I can't figure out; I may revise this when I'm more skilled at frankenmeshing.

Outfits that give your sims the appearance of merfolk, for ages toddlers to elders. Recommended for use alongside @midgethetree's Mermaid mod (further mods for merfolks by Midge here). Note however that these outfits are enabled not just for swimwear but for all clothing categories, to accomodate simmers who play a fully underwater neighborhood (inspo). If you want to change the categorization of clothing in bulk, I can recommend the Outfit Organizer or the BSOK editor.

This is actually the first part of a three-part set that will also include conversions of these outfits for custom body shapes. Edit: part 2 - part 3.

The meshes

Apart from the EM mesh which is new, all meshes are slightly edited versions of the meshes from Marvine's Merfolk project, or @jellymeduza's versions of those meshes when applicable (bottom of this post). Children to elders have fat morphs, teens and adults additionally have preg morphs.

All of them had a visible neck seam which I fixed. Example on AF:

I also modified the fat morphs on the CU and AM meshes (they were 100% Maxis-match, I made them a bit smoother and, well, less weird, hopefully).

Polycounts are very low, ranging from 1,404 for PU to 1,934 for UF.

The recolors

All recolors have sortindex numbers that ensure that they will appear neatly arranged set by set in your CAS catalogue, after all of your other CC clothing (right before the Maxis stuff).

All are enabled for all clothing categories including maternity.

Shoe sounds are set to none.

The textures, though I made edits to most of them, were taken from other creators credited below.

TF & AF use the same textures: the TF recolors can be either standalone or repo'd to AF. TM & AM & EM use the same textures: the TM and EM recolors can be either standalone or repo'd to AM. CU and PU have their own respective textures.

Marie Fay

Textures edited from Marie Fay's beautiful The Little Mermaid set. I erased the portion of semi-sheer texture that went up the back as it didn't look great on deep skintones. Compared to the original recolor files, unnecessary bump maps have been removed (the TM recolors don't appear weirdly mislit and are now useable) + shoe sounds have been set to none + sortindex numbers have been changed.

Simsllama Kosmiks

Textures edited from @simsllama's Kosmik recolors. Same as above, I cleaned up the back (you can see how it was before clean-up on the fifth picture I shared here), removed unnecesary bump maps, fixed the shoe sounds and edited the sortindex numbers. Also adapted for toddlers.

Midge

Textures edited from @midgethetree's mermaid tails. I reduced the exposure on the F bra, replaced the F bottom textures with the M textures, smoothed the waist seams (there was a white cast that looked weird on deep skintones), fixed the texture bleeding onto the fingers, adapted for EF by replacing the AF bra with the Marie Fay EF bra that Simsllama also used above, adapted for toddlers. The grey recolor is now available for all ages.

Prehistoric/Stone Age

1000 B.C.E. to 799 B.C.E. (the dates are wrong. Prehistory is too long for me to play from discovery of fire to the bronze age)

At present, I'm planning on 4 game days = 1 year. I tend to be bad at that, so that is very likely to change to 3 days, and maybe 2 days

2 week seasons

Aspirations can be changed once they're completed, unless a sim joining the household has one that doesn't fit the era. Traits can be changed if they're not era-compatible but are otherwise randomized after the original founder(s) (Gen 1).

A generation changes when there's a new head of household. A head outlives their child and the next head is their grandchild? That's the next gen. But they're counted according to birth gen, so it would be Gen 2 and Gen 4 (for making the family tree make sense.)

No fame, no uni, maybe school? Send the kids off to learn with the village elders while the adults get some work done?

Everyone gets a grave, but not for a while (this is actually kind of historically accurate). Headstones/urns must be kept until the time comes to build tombs.

Custom aging, but aging is on. No cakes = sims aging up on their own.

No marriages for the main household, but MCCC can marry other households, both to keep them reproducing and to keep some sense to it.

Jealousy turned off, because no official relationships.

Matriarchal matrilineal society. They did not have marriages or other official relationships (according to my interpretation, at least), so there would be no knowing the other parent unless the child looked like them. Person who got pregnant to person they gave birth to if possible, with a preference for those who can give birth as heirs. If heir is only set to get others pregnant and it doesn't get changed (for my sims, anyone who wants to get pregnant can), their heir is the one who looks most like them, their biological child or not. Adoption possible, but would be less likely to be the heir. Not necessary for the oldest child to be heir--the one who is best suited, according to the head of household, may be chosen.

I think I'm using LIttleMsSam's Miscarriage Chance mod to have a miscarriage and maternal death chance, but that could change to rolling at some point. If the birth parent dies, they can be pled for, but unless it ends the challenge they cannot have any more children.

Rolls for mortality for each birthday up to and including teen. Infant and childhoold mortality stayed high and mostly stable up until nearly/into the 1900s, so that will continue for a long time. The ultimate goal is an average of two surviving children per head of household, which will still be more than enough to make the family tree impossible.

End of life rolls will start at 54 for the hunter-gatherer nomad part, because that's around the life expectancy of those who lived beyond childhood. BUT if there's a major (real life, big enough for me to have found a record of it) world event that a sim survives, their next end of life roll moves forward by a year.

Random events rolled for at the start of every season (starting with the next season. I'll let them get settled in first).

Rolls for in-game events, including alien abductions, fights, in-game earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, in-game illnesses, fights, surprise holidays, vampire attacks.

Rolls for real life events that were major enough to still be known.

I'm starting in Sulani. Moving will happen, both between lots (nomadic lifestyle) and between worlds.

No jobs, but trading (selling things that are gathered or made and buying things with the money) is allowed. Bills have to be paid.

They will be hunter-gatherer nomads in Sulani until around 870 B.C.E. Many households were deleted. I kept the ones in Sulani (the lots were bulldozed, and they have a fire and a cave tent now), any role sims, and some others. MCCC dresser is great for getting them into appropriate clothes.

Start with 2 sims, 5000, and Simple Living, Off the Grid, and Volcanic Activity and/or Quake Zone. (I'll see how long OTG and simple living last.) Also Wild Prairie Grass, for reasons.

Since they’re adapted from the YAF & YAM categories, they may still hold a little of the “roundness” specific to those bodies. Reshaping too much would’ve meant screwing the UVs and having to redo them; and I sooo did not want to do that.

The Urban pants for TM have been fixed so the knee patches are in the right place despite of how they look in the (7th) preview; I just didn’t take a new pic.

TS3 Store Latest Fashion Frock dress edit + bonus simple choker

The idea belongs to my friend @windermeresimblr, and I was happy to make it into reality because I love 18th century clothes so much! I removed the bow from the choker and edited the channels to be more historically accurate. And as a treat, I made the choker from this dress into a cute little accessory!

This dress is for YA/A female sims, enabled for Everyday, Formalwear, Career and Outerwear. Maternity morph is by the amazing @kentconverts (they also converted this dress and other rococo clothes for teens and elders, so go grab them and don’t forget to follow Ken!). Since it’s EA mesh, you don’t have to worry about polycounts, it’s gameplay-friendly (highest LOD is 5,2k polygons).

Credits to EA for the textures and meshes and to @kentconverts for the maternity morph. The second preset is also an hommage to their version of this dress. See under the cut for more previews and info.

The dress has four presets with different recolourable channels. Each preset has four channels.

The no choker version has the exact same presets. I made it into a separate file because I edited the normal map.

You can pair it with a lot of different necklaces! All the necklaces you see above are by @ladesirecreativecorner​ (here’s the first, here’s the second and here’s the last).

The choker is for teen through elder female sims (I really need to make one for the guys too...). It is enabled for Everyday, Formalwear, Athletic, Career, Makeover, Outerwear and Maternity. Since it’s just a texture the file is tiny, which is a pleasant bonus. The thumbnail weights more than the texture lol.

Have fun with this set! If there’s anything weird please message me and I’ll try to fix it! Note: I’ve noticed that the red channel was bleeding into the green and I fixed it before uploading the files, but I was too tired to retake all the preview pics, I’m sorry :(
