Decided to revisit my mad scientist OC, Teddy Krankshaft, and give him a sort of sidekick. Because every good mad scientist needs an "Igor". lol
That little green lump of misery is Melvin Geiger, an unfortunate kid whose life was changed forever when he met Teddy.
Melvin was a normal boy, though pretty sharp and studious for his age, and mercilessly harassed by school bullies for it. But one day he crossed paths with a strange kid named Teddy. Though Melvin was nowhere near his level, Teddy recognized his passion for learning and natural scientific aptitude, so he offered him a position as an assistant. Melvin happily accepted, and helped Teddy in numerous projects.
However, one day there was an accident involving radioactive waste, and Melvin was drenched in the toxic chemicals. This event altered Melvin's biochemistry somehow, and now he can't survive without breathing a specific chemical concoction, having severe asthma attacks if he goes without it for more than five minutes.
But it was thanks to Teddy's quick thinking that he was able to stabilize Melvin's condition after the accident, and for that Melvin has pledged eternal loyalty out of gratitude.
I also reworked Teddy's backstory a bit. So instead of digitally uploading his mind into an android body, he simply transplanted his organic brain into it, being more of a cyborg now. But he does have a small computer attached directly to his brain which allows him to mentally interface with machines.
I should really do something with these characters someday. lol

Here’s a character I had in my head for a few days, and I finally realized visually (albeit quick and sloppily in ms paint, lol).
I’ve always loved mad scientist characters, and I also like the whole “kid genius” trope, so this is my version of that.
His name is Teddy Krankshaft (might change the name later) and he’s possibly the smartest individual on the planet. His intelligence peaked at a young age, and he has an obsession with machines and “mechanical perfection.”
It wasn’t long before the world recognized his genius, and he took many assignments from government bodies, and private employers, building up vast wealth and resources in a relatively short amount of time.
At some point, realizing the limits of his own mortality, he sought out a means to cheat death to potentially continue his work indefinitely.
Eventually he found a way to convert his mind into digital code and upload himself into an android body (his original body was put in stasis, hidden in a secure location). Essentially being a living program, his mechanical extremities house concealed cables and prongs with which to “infect” various computers and machines with his influence, making him a “technopath” of sorts. And if his current body is damaged beyond repair, he can wirelessly send his program into a replacement body in one of several secured locations, though he prefers direct transfers via physical components, having a mild paranoia of “the cloud.”
Though seemingly content to conduct his work in solitude, away from “lesser minds”, the combination of his astounding intellect, tireless work ethic, and various eccentricities make him potentially dangerous.
