Tedave/Strawberry Doritos/Dave Strider x Teddy Caincia(my Homestuck s/i)lore dump because i keep wanting to post about Teddy and this gives me an excuse to. @palisadewasp tagging you since you're my biggest Homestuck moot!!

There's no grand dramatic backstory to how they met,Teddy is just the 5th Beta Kid so him and Dave know eachother through Sburb

Teddy is a lightskin half white afro-dominican and Dave's black-japanese and they're t4t audhd4audhd babygirl4babygirl sillylittleguy4sillylittleguy(i was gonna say transmasc4transmasc but i love transfem Dave/Dove too much so she gets some mentions in here,,,,,,wife-shaped)

Dave's perpetually chill but the only one who can match Teddy's often unhinged and even destructive energy for a long ass time

Dave/Jade and Dave/Karkat aren't a thing to avoid love triangles but Jade and Karkat are strong platonic presences in Dave and Teddy's lives and Teddy and Karkat are even Moirails!!There were some mixups with both duos but it was all caused by them being dummies over the different kinds of love there are and Kat Cafe Duo(Teddy and Karkat)have a gag scene where the topic of them possibly dating is brought up and they respond 'why the funfetti fudge would i be dating Karkat?' 'why the fucking fuck would Teddy be dating me?'.I'd say they're so siblings but there's really no other accurate word than Moirails for them.Teddy is so nice to Karkat he thought it was a trick at first but the nonexistent charade went on for too long for him to keep it up so he admitted they're friends and they're just vibes(and law-breaking and amatonormativity shattering affection)

Teddy is The Sylph Of Blood,he went through so many Chumhandles the only ones he can really remember is 'Sparklescoutgoop',his typing quirk is in literally every single scene change with him the text is a different shade of pink each time and excessively long no punctuation sentences,their STRIFE SPECIBUS was allocated with the GAUNTLETKIND ABSTRATUS which shoot different kinds of ammo and CONSOLEKIND ABSTRATUS which shapeshifts to different game consoles with a thought and their Alpha Kid counterpart is Trace Abel,Mage of Rage and their older sister/mom by virtue of being her clone of a clone of their mom-mom Teresa Delcielo created by her using her then deceased husband's,Magdaleno,ghost paradox slime combined with hers out of desperation to still be 'A woman of God-Tier' and inevertadly but inexcusably abused both Teddy and Trace in different ways as a result and strained their relathionship before they could even form one to the initial obliviousness of Teddy.Despite everything,it's still them vs the world so the Caincia and Abel sisters form a real bond slowly over the course of HS

(Okay that wasn't Tedave/Strawberry Doritos sorry but i want Teddy to feel like his own character and not just Dave's love interest!!)Teddy has a severe donuts addiction,to EVERY kind in all of existense and beyond,and munches on them on the regular to stay fueled and happy so Dave starts carrying around diverse donuts randomly with him to keep him fed.Similarly he makes sure his burgers,fries,shakes,etc are always the right tempetature for him when they go out on fast food dates(which is very often)

And Teddy gets into the habit of sing-songing bit by bit to keep up Dave's inspo for his songs when he legit asked him to like the weirdo he is and Teddy enthutiastically agreed and thanked him for asking,saying he knows the way to talk to girls really well for just a dude(in the context of Dove timelines,he remembers this out of nowhere and apologizes to his girlfriend in tears he bursts into and Dove reassures him she didn't even recall that,mainly because it had been a decade ago)

Dave's not particularly tall but Teddy is particularly short and youthful looking even into adulthood so Dave calls him stuff like 'Short ass' and Teddy thinks it's hilarious and calls him 'Maple Tree' in return.Dove considered Maple as a name for this reason

Teddy loves cringe people so much,Dave/Dove is his EXACT type,and he unironically thinks he's/she's the coolest person ever from start to finish and Dave/Dove is completely into Teddy's nerdiness and sweetness and energetic weirdboygirl attitude but hides it at first since y'know,'hipster',but that lasts for less than 10 chapters worths of interactions between them as he/she can't help but open up to their actual thoughts on them with how nice he is and what ego boosts he gives him/her,not to mention how useful he'd been on the Beta Kids adventures earning him his/her respect as a fellow Hero.They're Matesprits in both Canon and Fanon timelines and this surprised nobody,not even them.They were actually afronted at the implication they might not be,Teddy in distress and Dave asking if he looked like he was dumb enough to believe that(Rose of course said yes)

Dave's bi awakening comes a lot earlier thanks to Teddy being multigender trans but Dove dosen't start to crack out of her shell until her late teens,dipping her toes into girlhood with Teddy until she gets to the 'putting on your female loved ones clothes while they're out to try out your gender and not being able to hold yourself back from it even as you start feeling bad over it' transfem experience and Teddy walks in on her and his brown pupils turn into drippy heart shapes when he sees her and tells her she's the coolest girl he's ever seen.Immediate afterward scene is Teddy diy'ing Dove's estrogen while Dove hugs him from behind,still in his clothes and Teddy humming a sick ass sweet tune she wrote

They're partners on the battle field enough times to be recognized by recurring antagonists and there's a good chunk of fight scene panels where they have a beam-y magenta connection thingy between them like in video games and at one point Teddy uses it to pull Dave in for a deep kiss that was secondhand embarrassing for everyone present including Teddy and except Dave who just enjoyed it

Teddy is the team mom of the Beta Kids so sorry Dave but you're not beating the milf liker allegations(only not incestous in this case.that Roxy shit sure was a Choice)

He also starts off as an urban tomboy in his drips but grows up to be an earthy solarpunk black girl and Dave gets a punk makeover/style rehaul by Girlfriendforce.That includes Teddy convincing him to get grills

Roxy and Teddy end up gayming together more than him and Dave as they match eachother's video game freakuency and Dave complains about it but neither of them care as it's too much fun.Dave is still Teddy's number one Animal Crossing Player 2 though

Teddy helped Roxy out with her transition too and this includes the diy'd estrogen as above mentioned but also calling her pretty all the time to lighten her dysphoria,going on platonic cat cafe dates,girly mall trips,etc and he drags Dave along with them and this either A.starts off as hell for him but he ends up liking it and unlearning wack gender roles in favor of freshly baked pizza rolls or B.helping her settle into Dove and either way leads to them sneaking away from Roxy to make out at hidden away corners/spots

Also hair dying parties!!Teddy starts doing varying pink streaks in his hair later on and Roxy likes switching it up all the time and Dave's a fake blonde

And Roxy is a reflection of Trace so Teddy latched onto her on instinct and they've got all the same interests so it was an absolute delight for her.Teddy does his best to be there for Roxy emotionally and during hard times to repay her for doing the same when Trace couldn't and when Trace finally can(but not without one-sided bitter beef on Trace's end towards both of them at first),Teddy gets two cool older sisters he's gone through lifetimes of trauma with but lifetimes of love and healing with too

Teddy does NOT like Bro‼️‼️‼️He threatens to kick his ass so often it's actually hilarious,especially with his goofy ass Disney Junior ahh threats,and he does manage to kick him in the nuts with a puppet of his at one point,calling him 'a Puppet sucking cuntnugget' and he and Dirk don't start off too hot but he gives him a chance and dosen't regret it too much even if he's like That.They bond over dating sims and fighting games and Dirk gives Teddy his first experience with weed and there's a couple of mini plots to get them rolling and they honestly act like brother and sister but Dirk won't admit he sees Teddy as his lil sis(not in public anyway).They also accidentally commited suicide together twice so Bludgeoning Siblings it is.Also Dirk gifts Teddy his own pink katana and Teddy calls Dirk 'DS' like the Nintendo and they get full meals with sundaes at Taco Bell bi-monthly and have matching Fluttershy/Rainbow Dash friendship bracelets :)

Dave was on edge waiting for Dirk to pull a Roxy and hit on Teddy like she'd done with June but it never happened and when he brought it up unsubtly,Teddy said Dirk's not his type 'by a bajillionistic GAUNTLETKIND ABSTRATUS shots' and that he's the only one in that tangled ass up roots family tree he'd date if given a choice.Dave then tries rizz but gets cut off by a blast to the back

Dave makes those cluttered necklaces for Teddy with multiple items but an essential one each has is soda bottle caps and obvs also makes him mixtapes even back when they were genuinely platonic and looks for mods he thinks he'd like to install in his games

And in the Epilogue,we see Dave and Teddy on Earth C,hanging out in a supersized earthship they live in together as they discuss what's happened over the years intertwined with mutual love confessions and their final scene together is their first kiss just as the sun sets and coats them in magenta colored sun down light
