there is a telegram group of my local fake buss pass app, and I see daily how young people who are supposed to be "digi-natives" don't have any basic skills of using digital services where you have to do basic configuration yourself. also they apparently don't know how to read past messages.

when I was a teenager I used debian gnu/linux. from time to time it was necessary for me to configure my own computer. people who are older than me had to configure everything themselves.

I have noticed how media sometimes claim that these "digi-natives" will become more tech and coding oriented just because they use digital environments all their life but I'm not sure this is true since everything they use is a product that doesn't require them to do anything else than press a button on an app and things work.

nah the digi-jacks are just dummies with only basic "kill anything that's not hyperion-aligned" programming and no personality beyond the pre-recorded lines. doesn't stop them from being just as handsome though. ;]

jack probably refined the design over time, maybe using the combat data gathered by tim, got a more powerful portable digistructor, and eventually built the opaque holograms he uses during combat in bl2. but doubt there'd be any point to giving sentience to something that's only meant to be a glorified bullet decoy. and they probably wouldn't appreciate it either.
