Episode 5 - Tea Nerd Feng Lanxi (part 1)

I love this detail about Feng Lanxi. He’s a tea nerd! So in ep 1, when we first meet him, he talks about how the increased precipitation has impacted how the water tastes. And we see it again here. He is using specific waters for his teas. In gif # 3, from right to left, the containers are labeled: rainwater of Jiangnan (Jiangnan Yu Shui), melted snow from plum blossoms (Mei Hua Xue Shui), and water from jade spring (Yu Quan Shui).

Note: Salt can be used to decrease the the sharpness, bitterness, and astringency of tea. It impacts, I believe, how your taste buds perceive the taste. Along the same lines, DO NOT use distilled water to brew tea. It makes the tea taste much less pleasant.

He really loves his tea! I love how he is paying attention, considering the water, and really savoring the drink. TEA NERD! :D
