I wanted to share with you all that I was sippin on some decaf lastnight “Best Coffee In The World” and I noticed that I hit 1 million views on a TikTok post with another on the way. The number “1 Million” on a single social media post is an accomplishment I thought I would never see and many in my business never do. This may not mean much to many but for me it’s the amazing result of my dedication to comedy over the years. Mohawks are one of the most historical hairstyles ever and I can’t get enough of doing them. They’re also known as the “mohican” or the “Iro” in reference to the Iroquois tribes whom are believed to have created the mohawk. The only difference there was that the hair was plucked out rather than shaved ouch!! It’s crazy to think that mohawks have been done as far back as 300 BC and longer. The style has gone from traditional to punk rock and back to what it is today just a badass haircut.. I remember back in the 80s as a kid I wanted one but mom was like hell no. In today’s world parents walk into Barbershops and actually request them for their kids. I guess it’s safe to say that mohawks are a timeless classic.💯 @truththebarberartist

I remember taking this pic back when I began teaching at my second Barber School. I was pissed too because Dunkin Donuts made me wait 5 minutes for decaf but whatever. I just looked on my calendar and noticed that I’m well into 34 years of experience now.. Damn I’m old lol... Shut up!!.. I really enjoy seeing young Barbers grow. I just got a phone call from a former student of three years ago and he said “I’m so good now, I’m better than you..” I smiled and said that’s exactly what I wanna hear. I’m proud of you, keep going young buck and don’t look back. Sometimes I check in on them and I see them with families, homes and businesses and I love it... I know there’s a piece of my teachings there. Two of my students even became comedian Barbers because they were inspired by what I do.. I still remember during my first year as a teacher 16 years ago someone said that Barbering would go extinct. I’ve always kept that with me and decided that I would never stand by and watch that happen. Even today during these times I hear that same bullshit but I know we’re not going anywhere just like my decaf. I see some Barbershops have had to close recently but the owners went mobile. That’s a perfect example of how you can’t keep this profession down. We are presently going through one of the biggest challenges in our history but the one thing that we have to remember is we’ve been here before and we overcame. I haven’t returned to teaching as of yet but I do plan to do so in the future. I still speak with school directors often to keep updated on what’s going on in the Barber education world. As for the State board exams they will be commencing again soon so for those of you who are waiting for your dates check your emails. For all you new Barbers waiting to be licensed remember Barbering is not just a profession, it’s a lifestyle.💈💪🏼 @truththebarberartist
