Hey!
Since you seem to know much about books, I wanted to ask for recs.
I'm relatively new to the romance genre. All the M/M I've read has come from novels and works that have very...seme/uke esque dynamics and seem to enforce heteronormative standards regarding pursuit, romance, character interplay, and even sex (with fixed top and bottom postions).
Then I read For Real by Alexis Hall. Now I felt the character work and particularly the romantic chemistry was lacking, but the sexual dynamics presented opened me up to a whole new world of queerness. I enjoy reading verse/switch couples far more than ones with fixed positions cause for whatever reason, a lot of authors seem to take sexual position to be representative of the character's personality as related to a het romantic dynamic.
So I want to ask you for recs for any M/M verse/switch couples with fun dynamics and solid romantic chemistry. Preferably set in the modern day (Period pieces are meh to me). I have no qualms about subject matter as long as everything is handled decently and the ending is HEA.
Sure thing, lemme look at my Goodreads... I picked a range of authors, generally if they have done it once they will do it again.
Contemporary M/M Romance Featuring Verse/Switch Characters
Beyond the Sea - Andrews
Here Comes Trouble - Via
Team Phison -Verity
Bonfires - Lane
Perfect Day - Malcolm (rewrite of Persuasion)
Sixty Five Hours - Walker
Out of the Blues - Celeste
Family Man - Cullinan
The Boy Next Door - Hauser
The Quarterback - Blair
Time to Do - Dare
Him - Bowen (one of the first m/m's to win a major romance award)
Knave of Broken Hearts - Lain
Second Chance - Barrett
Save of the Game - Gale
Knowing Me, Knowing You - Kaye (an evocative and representative writer based down under, good sense of place)
Switched - Walker
The Isle of… Where? - Brown
Taboo For You - Sunday
R. Cooper (probably my favorite on this list but with a VERY specific writing style). They are VERY queer and very into broad spectrum sexuality rep in their stuff, but... and acquired taste. They specialize in PNR not contemporary, but they have written a few.
For Better or Worse
Jericho Candelario's Gay Debut
Honestly I remember reading one about neighbors falling for each other where being a switch was actually a plot point, but I can't remember anything else about it for love nor money. And I must not have given it a high rating because it's not popping up on my list. Sorry.

Inland SSD 1TB TN470 Powerful Budget Users
Inland SSD 1TB TN470
With a balanced performance profile, the Inland TN470 SSD is aimed towards a mainstream market and functions well in desktop, laptop, and even PS5 devices. With no DRAM and a more affordable price point, the TN470 might become the new value leader. The best SSDs now face additional competition because of its single-sided design, which is the cherry on top.
When Inland releases a new SSD, you can be sure that the technology is truly revolutionizing the SSD market. As one of many resellers managing the retail side of the business, Inland contracts out to drive production, and its status as Micro Center’s house brand guarantees builder popularity. The TN470 SSD takes the place of the well-liked low-cost TN450 SSD, providing a faster, more recent controller along with quick flash.
Inland 1TB NVMe SSD
Software support is not something that Inland provides, but its physical location and longer, six-year warranty may improve the customer experience. You can typically find hardware that is identical to that of the larger brands at a lower cost. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Inland designed the TN470 with the most popular capacities in mind, with the 2TB model being the most desirable. Although they would prefer to see more 4TB options in this market and the Inland SSD 1TB model may be more difficult to sell, it’s difficult to argue against a drive that perfectly hits the 2TB sweet spot.
The Corsair MP600 Elite is the first drive of its kind, but the Inland TN470 isn’t the first, and it won’t be the last either, as many other manufacturers are likely to release gear of a similar nature. Even some older Inland SSD 1TB models are receiving this hardware update; however, they would rather see a name change than a specification change under the same name.
This hardware combination should also be available in M.2 2230 versions in due course, which is good news for owners of Steam Decks and portable systems. Many options are preferable to the few excellent budget M.2 2280 options that currently exist, such as the Crucial T500 or Team group MP44. It may seem impossible to compete with Maxio MAP1602-based drives like the MP44, but Phison has demonstrated rapid and effective performance with the E27T controller, which powers the TN470. The updated BiCS6 flash also significantly improves performance.
Inland SSD 2TB
Similar to the Corsair MP600 Elite, the Inland TN470 is offered in Inland SSD 1TB and 2TB capacities. The TN470’s hardware will also be used in the upcoming Sabrent Rocket 4 update. There are no other models of the TN470 with a pre-attached heatsink, unlike the MP600 Elite. The TN470 costs $79.99 and $136.99 on Amazon at the time of review, but if you live close to a Micro Centre, you can find it for less money. Compared to the MP600 Elite, these prices are $5–$10 less, but the Corsair drive includes a heatsink.
The TN470 is rated for sequential read and write speeds of up to 7,300 / 6,400 MB/s and random read and write IOPS of up to 900K / 900K. This compares favourably to competing drives like the Lexar NM790, Teamgroup MP44, or Silicon Power US75 that have similar but distinct hardware. This is a competitive market, particularly when the Crucial T500 and older PCIe 4.0 SSDs are taken into account. Despite having a capacity of only 600TB of writes per TB, Inland’s warranty is unique in that it lasts for six years instead of the typical five.
Though it’s hard to forecast the future of any particular SSD model, they can make the following assumptions about the Inland TN470:
Sustained Pertinence
Although PCIe Gen 4 is still a relatively new standard, it is expected to remain the common interface for some time to come. This indicates that the TN470 will work well with high-end systems for a considerable amount of time.
The TN470, a cost-effective Gen 4 option, could gain even more appeal if the cost of TLC NAND flash memory decreases.
Possible Drawbacks
It is possible that SSDs with faster speeds and longer lifespans, utilising PCIe Gen 5 or even Gen 6, will appear, making the TN470 seem inferior.
The DRAM less design may eventually become more of a drawback for workloads that significantly strain the drive’s endurance.
Overall Prognosis
A solid position is held by the Inland TN470 in the present market. Though it’s not likely to go out of style right away, in a few years it might not seem as impressive due to new developments. It should still be an attractive choice for consumers on a tight budget who don’t require the most advanced technology in terms of speed or endurance, though, considering its price range and respectable performance.

Some gay book recs! (because I'm bored)
Captive Prince series by C.S. Pacat - the first book is a bit out there and takes some getting used to - very much feels like an original online m/m fic - but book two and three are incredible. Full-on enemies to lovers (the MC killed the other’s brother!) with a very sloooooooow burn. MC is bisexual and the country he is sent to has made heterosexuality illegal unless married. CW: explicit sexual content. TW: off-page rape, threat of rape, on-page sexual assault, violence, off-page pedophilia.
In Other Lands by Sarah Rees Brennan - smartass bisexual boy named Elliot discovers a magical land and goes to school there, having many adventures with his two best friends, Serene-Heart-in-the-Chaos-of-Battle (an elf) and Luke Sunborn (a badass human warrior). Follows Elliot from ages 13 to 17 and is really sex positive (NOT explicit)!
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid - follows ageing Hollywood actress Evelyn Hugo as she tells the story os her scandalous life - and the seven husbands she had along the way - to journalist Monique. This book straight-baits (Evelyn is bisexual and gets into a relationship with a woman.)
Leo Loves Aries by Anyta Sunday - my fave bisexual ever Theo is a clueless one. He and his sister have been dumped by their partners who then get together themselves, and so Theo and Leone task themselves with finding the other sibling a date to the upcoming wedding. And then Jaime, Theo’s economics tutor, moves in with them and Theo believes he’s found the perfect date for his sister … or so he thinks. CW: explicit sexual content.
Radio Silence by Alice Oseman - a highly relatable book about a bisexual girl called Frances who accidentally befriends the creator of her favourite podcast ever and what happens when she breaks his trust. The book really focuses on the pressure society puts teenagers on to choose their perfect career before the age of 18 and that university is the only option even though it’s not for everyone. TW: psychologically abusive parent, anxiety, depression.
The Uncrossing by Melissa Eastlake - modern magic and two gay boys who find themselves at the centre of a fairytale curse and have to figure out a way to break it. But first they have to solve the story behind it. Super sex positive, not explicit.
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller - a queer retelling of the Trojan War through the eyes of Patroclus as he follows his lover, Achilles, to war. TW: dead gays, violence, threat of sexual assault, murder, death.
Heartstopper by Alice Oseman - a webcomic that will soon be a published graphic novel about two boys - one gay, the other just figuring out his bisexuality - who fall in love in high school. Cute af.
Team Phison by Chace Verity - two men slowly fall in love while playing online video games together. CW: age gap (legal). Explicit sexual content.
Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde - best friends, Charlie (bi) and Taylor (autistic) go to a comic con in America for the chance to meet Taylor’s favourite author and experience a life-changing weekend. TW: anxiety.
Hamilton’s Battalion: a Trio of Romances by Courtney Milan, Alyssa Cole and Rose Lerner - a collection of three romance novels set around Alexander Hamilton’s battalion during the American War of Independence. First book is about a Jewish woman who fakes her own death to join the war dressed as a man and what happens when she sees her husband again years later (m/f); second story is about a black soldier who, accompanied by a white British soldier, makes his way home to help his sister (m/m); third story is about a black secretary who works for Eliza Hamilton who has closed herself off to love, but who falls for a black businesswoman (f/f). TW: racism.
The Abyss Surrounds Us by Emily Skrutskie - Cassandra is kidnapped by pirates and forced to train a genetically modified creature that the pirates have stolen. LESBIAN PIRATES!!!
The Love Song of Sawyer Bell by Avon Gale - singer Victoria Vincent (bi) desperately needs a new fiddle player for her rock band, and in walks Sawyer Bell, a girl slowly coming to terms with her sexuality and who has started to resent music due to her hard time at Juilliard. TW: anxiety.
Note: if I’ve forgotten any trigger or content warnings, please add them.

Elevate Performance T-Force CARDEA Z540 2TB PCIe 5.0 SSD
T-Force CARDEA Z540 2 TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD Having first investigated PCIe, which Gen5 NVMe storage devices with up to 10,000 MB/s read and write speeds earlier this year. These drives were first, but knew faster drives would come as technology improved. Mainstream AMD and Intel motherboards make Gen5 platforms more accessible.
While starting at 10 GB/s, SSD manufacturers have quickly released faster drives by optimizing thermal designs and using better NAND solutions. The Cardea Z540 series from T-Force is designed to offer the fastest speeds possible given NAND flash’s limitations.
Team Group T-Force CARDEA Z540 2 TB SSD, which uses Phison’s E26 controller and targets high-end storage. This SSD costs $259.99 US, which is typical for 2 TB Gen5 SSDs.
T-Force CARDEA Z540 2 TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD
CARDEA Z5 includes the Team Group T-Force CARDEA Z540. They have examined many CARDEA products, from Gen3 to Gen4 SSDs, over the years. The Gen5 “Z5” SSD series is now under review.
The Team Group T-Force CARDEA Z5 SSDs use the NVMe SSD form factor and the latest Micron 232-layer TLC NAND flash, which offers up to 2 TB of storage, twice the performance of Gen4 drives, and full DirectStorage API compliance. Most T-Force CARDEA Z540 SSDs implement the Phison E26 SSD control system found on some of the strongest Gen5 drives.
T-Force increased NAND speeds from 1600 to 2000 MT/s, improving read and write speeds. T-Force Gen5 drives will likely optimize these speeds.
FEATURES
Incredible new-generation speed unleashes gaming performance The graphene miracle Best heat-dissipation method Temperature control intelligence Clear steps to protect Earth Patented S.M.A.R.T. monitoring master Quality user assurance service Patented graphene heatsink US invention patent (US11051392B2) Taiwan invention patent (I703921) China utility patent (CN 211019739 U). Patented S M A R T software Taiwan invention patent I751753 The Team Group T-Force CARDEA Z540 SSD has an M.2 2280 form factor and NVMe 2.0 PCIe Gen 5 x4 interface. The SSDs are only available in two capacities (1 TB and 2 TB) and have sequential read and write speeds of 12.4 and 11.8 GB/s, respectively. Most Gen 5 drives currently have 10 GB/s Read and 9.5 GB/s Write speeds. This SSD uses a large Frozr heatsink to lower temperatures by 20C.
The 2 TB model have tested had a peak sequential read speed of 12,400 and a write speed of 11,800 MB/s. Random Reads and Writes IOPS were 1400K/1500K, and endurance was 1400 TBW.
Team Group T-Force CARDEA Z540 2 TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD Unboxing and Closer Look The Team Group T-Force CARDEA 2 TB is compact. Large SSD photos adorn the black package. Capabilities, model name, and patents are listed on the front. The back of the package lists SSD specifications and performance figures, which will discuss later. The SSD, graphene pad, and T-Force sticker are inside. T-Force seems to be keeping things simple. Standard 2280 form factor SSDs measure 80.0 (L) x 22.00 (W) x 3.7 (H) mm. The Phison E26 controller, LPDDR4 memory, and two NAND Flash dies are on the front. The T-Force CARDEA Z540 has two NAND Flash (232-layer 3D TLC) devices at the back and 4 GB of LPDDR4-4266 DRAM cache. The graphene heat spreader is the only cooling solution, so the SSD can fit in any M.2 slot without compatibility issues. This fast storage device needs a heatsink, so mount it under your motherboard’s heat sink or buy one separately.
Test Setup
They tested an Intel Core i9-13900K processor at stock clocks on the MSI Z790 ACE motherboard. The platform had 32 GB of G.Skill DDR5 (Trident Z5/16 GB x 2) and the MSI MEG Ai1300P PSU. My graphics card was MSI GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM X. This is an advanced SSD test platform. The Raptor Lake CPU powers the MSI Z790 ACE’s single Gen 5.0 x4 NVMe slot.
Group T-Force Benchmarks for CARDEA Z540 2 TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD The manufacturers’ performance stats for these drives are first. Benchmark AS SSD
AS SSD Benchmark download tests solid-state drive performance on Windows 10. With it, you can test all SSDs’ speeds and fix any issues. The free app runs three tests to prove your driver’s data copying, reading, and writing behavior. The app measures SSD access time, speed, and performance.

✨ Sapphic-A-Thon Wrapup ✨
So, about halfway through SapphicAThon I lost momentum of reading wlw stories because I kept being so disappointed by what I found 😖 I have a bunch of books I didn’t get to that I still plan to read~ Now to summarize all the things I read, and links to reviews 😎
One of the books I started was GIRLS MADE OF SNOW AND GLASS by Melissa Bashardoust. I’m still in the process of reading/listening to it (I fell into the trap of The Bright Sessions podcast, so haven’t been listening to audible 😅), but I’m about 19% through and plan to finish it next.
The first book I read was EITAN’S CHORD by Shira Glassman, which fulfilled the Jewish Char bingo square. I’ve read other books by Shira Glassman and KNIT ONE, GIRL TWO is basically a happy place read for me, but this one was less than stellar to me. I wanted to like it because polyamory/triad and Hanukkah fairies! But it just fell a little flat for me. Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2213933363
Next on Kindle I tried reading VILLAINS DON’T DATE HEROES by Mia Archer, which could have fulfilled Hate to Love bingo square. Unfortunately this was a huge DNF for me, at only 36%, which is a huge disappointment because I love villains and hate to love is such a good trope. This book was a mess, though; definitely needed a good editing and it was just so long-winded at times. Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2162748323
Next up, we have THE PRICE OF MEAT by KJ Charles, which fulfilled Non-Coming Out bingo square. I adore KJ Charles and her writing is always so good. This was a quick, creepy read with some really interesting history. Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2215862781
Next, GIRL MANS UP by M-E Girrard, which probably could’ve fulfilled Interractial bingo square, but I NOPEd outta there real quick (28 pages quick). The friendship between MC and her “best friend” was gross and toxic, the way she helped him get and then toss girls was gross, and how the best friend told MC she needed to leave his exes alone and not listen to them really bothered me. Everything about those 28 pages made me so uncomfortable. Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2217413312
I read GRRRLS ON THE SIDE by Carrie Pack, which fulfilled Bisexual MC bingo square. The premise of the book was interesting and I liked the punk scene in the 90s with the zines as part of story telling style, but in the end this book didn’t completely wow me. It had a lot of issues, including: fatmisia, transmisia, racism, not listening to WOC voices, and erasing/invalidating MC’s bisexuality. Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2216300341
I tried (and failed) to read EELGRASS by Tori Curtis; I only made it about 14% through before I couldn’t take it anymore. I was going to use this book to fulfill SF/F bingo square, but the attitude towards Bettan’s lost sealskin and subsequent kidnapping (she’ll be happier for it, she’ll have babies and find her place, it’ll settle her, etc) just made me TOO uncomfortable and I couldn’t finish it. Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2217554958
I was reading ASH by Malinda Lo for about half of SapphicAThon, but ending DNFing it because while I enjoyed the writing style, I was bored of the story. No review.
RIPPED PAGES by M. Hollis was my next reading adventure, and it fulfilled Retelling bingo square. It was a unique, cute Rapunzel retelling, but sometimes the pacing got to me. It was a bit of a Princess Saves Herself (major positive) but also really nice example of princesses saving each other. Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2140722418
I also read M. Hollis’ NIGHT AT THE MALL, which fulfills Less Than 500 Goodreads Ratings bingo square. This was another cute fluff read, but it felt more like the Meet-Cute (which I love) without the subsequent relationship and feelings that I wanted. Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2220418677
MY HEART IS READY by Chace Verity was my next read, which fulfilled Established Relationship bingo square. I have also read TEAM PHISON by Chace and omg their writing is so much feelings for me. I can’t wait more of this series to come out 😍 but I adored Corsine and Tristis, and their flawed but loving relationship. Just, such fun characters and a cute story! Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2197767772
Finally I read IT’S NOT LIKE IT’S A SECRET by Misa Sugiura, which fulfilled Both WOC bingo square. I have some mixed feelings for this book, especially because cheating is such a prevalent theme (MC cheats on her gf with a boy bc she thinks gf is cheating, and friends are all “it’s not cheating if she cheated first.”). Definitely has strong themes of racism and prejudice, and examining how those views affect us and our perceptions of people. Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1929858655
In total I finished 7 books, DNF’d 4, and am still reading 1. I fulfilled the following bingo squares: Both WOC, Established Relationship, Less Than 500 GR Ratings, Retelling, Bisexual MC, Non-Coming Out Story, and Jewish MC. I did not manage to get any BINGO though 😅
