Henry County Teacher passes away from Covid-19 It is with great sadness and shock I have confirmed from multiple sources the death of a phenomenal Stockbridge Elementary teacher from Covid-19….RIH 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Please pray for our teachers. . Out of respect for the family we will allow them to make a public statement before releasing the name of the amazing Soul who is no longer with us. I am so thankful we were able to give her, her flowers last year for a lifetime of educating and loving our children. Please wear your mask, wash your hands, and social distance.

BSTU MEMO TO MEMBERS OF THE TEACHING PROFESSION: This is to inform that as Officers of the BSTU we are dealing with reports of increased incidents of student on teacher violence. It is reaching disturbing proportions where in this calendar year we have had five such incidents reported by our members. This, coupled with increasing reports and evidence of students armed with weapons, including home made ones, is a grave concern for the Officers and should be of equal concern to all in the profession. To this end the Officers have devised a Protocol to follow if you are in any way threatened or attacked. As members of the BSTU we have to be proactive to safeguard ourselves and those over whom we have duty of care. We also have to let our employers know that we are serious about enforcing our right to work in a safe environment. We have to be ready to ensure that this right in particular is never denied or overlooked. The BSTU is holding a mass meeting of the membership on Wednesday at 1:00 at Solidarity House. This is YOUR meeting to address YOUR issues of safety. Let us show up in our numbers to demonstrate the seriousness with which we view this matter and to communicate to our employer that we value our well being, our safety and our lives.
