Hi! I am just curious, why did you start writing (fan)fiction? And what source material or characters got you first interested in writing fiction yourself?

Nah, just joshin' lol I'll put this answer under a cut because it's long and waffly

I've been interested in writing for as long as I can remember. I used to write short stories on my mum's typewriter when I was little (I'd get absolutely parred on AO3 for them these days, 6 year old me wrote utter fucking drivel) and if I wasn't writing then I was reading. I was one of those horrible brats that gets put into the reading age group two levels above them because they're "gifted".

English Language and English Literature were always my favourite subjects at school and as a teen I had a couple of poems published in a book series called the Zodiac Anthology.

When it came time to pick careers, my teacher told me I'd better get comfortable with the idea of homelessness if I wanted to write full time for a living, but I could put my skills to use if I pursued a career in journalism, so I did.

I went to college and studied a BTEC National Diploma in Media and then took an evening class to get myself an A level in English Language and Literature. I then went to university and got my Bachelor's degree in Journalism. I interned for a newspaper and a couple of magazines and one of the magazines was kind enough to offer me permanent freelance work after I graduated.

I got a full time job as a copy editor, while still freelance writing on the side. I eventually branched out into marketing and now my full time job is in affiliate marketing. I still freelance for a couple of metal music publications, writing reviews and interviewing bands, feature writing, etc.

As for fan fiction, the first ever fan fiction I read was a CM Punk smut story. 13 year old me had no idea what the fuck I'd just encountered, but it had me hooked and since then I've sought out fan fiction for pretty much every media I consume and enjoy.

I didn't actually start writing my own fan fiction until March 2021 - my first ever piece of fan fiction was for the Vikings fandom and you can read it here.

My plan is to one day release a book of original short stories - all horror and science fiction based - my husband is going to do the illustrations.

I like CM Punk because

I know it's a controversial topic right now (2022), but I really like CM Punk. CM Punk almost got me to give AEW a third chance.

I'll still track down his good segments online, but I've only successfully finished Dynamite three times. This show has been going for three years at this point.

Then the worst kept secret in wrestling, CM Punk signed with AEW, and was advertised to debut at their first Rampage taping. You'd better believe I tracked that down. Although his first promo was just like every other WWE-defector promo, "WWE bad", it was exciting to see him in a wrestling ring again.

I made sure I watched his first match back, Darby Allin was pretty good, but Punk was better. The Electric Chair into that first GTS since 2014 was incredible.

I fell out again with AEW as the rest of the show was usually a boring Trainwreck, but I always kept up with Punk. Always good, always consistent, that MJF feud was magical.

He had that awkward promo with Cowboy, an awkward match with Cowboy, and won the title. I told myself I needed to watch the next Dynamite. Then he announced an injury, disappeared, and my interest in what should be exactly my niche disappeared with him.

He finally returns, I watch a weird promo on Cowboy again, then he talks about a guy he's beaten plenty of times by now, Dean Moxley.

That match in Chicago I was very excited for. CM Punk in Chicago, for the same gold and leather.

Then Brawl Out happened.

This is why I'm writing this.

I asked in a group I'm in on Facebook, "why is everyone mad at the guy who had three people break into his locker room?"

The response: "He threw the first punch."

I saw it then.

I've been on a long journey of self discovery and make a lot of effort to help the little guy when I can. I was subjected to horrific bullying at high school, I genuinely feel that teachers shouldn't encourage bullying but they did, and every time I spoke up, I was ignored.

So, I would attempt to resolve the situation myself. I often found myself throwing the first punch.

Everyone involved in the Brawl Out was suspended, and it wasn't just Punk, the Bucks and Tyson, it was seven or eight people.

The story has warped and changed since then, CM Punk has stayed silent on the topic while Tyson and the Bucks have tried to spread stories ranging from Punk being mean in the locker room to being the second coming of Hitler. Conveniently, everyone who had anything good to say about Punk disappeared from regular TV. Dax Harwood came to bat for Punk, FTR were soundly removed from most TV, despite being the most popular team in the company.

I relate to that.

I remember stories about my frustration spinning wildly out of control through the school yard, I would be painted as a monster. I remember it all quite vividly.

Thing is, CM Punk speaking his mind is frustrating. He's pointing out problems a lot of the time which people don't like. He did it in WWE, my sister is still mad about that Triple H promo, and he did it here with the guy who said he wouldn't hire 80% of the assembled talent and his tag team friends.

I can relate to this. Whether it's sticking up for the people management don't want anyone sticking up for, or pointing out when management are protecting toxic staff. I've been where CM Punk is.

Rampage is always so short compared to the other 2 idk it's only an hour Long . Anyways. Me personally, I am not a wwe fan . i showed my sister the cmjf feud documentary video because she kept comparing mjf to bakugo when i told her about him. which is, wrong.

well, turns out she likes it! i made a promise that if she finds it boring after 15 minutes she could stop watching. she thought she's going to see two guys fighting for an entire hour only to get hit by promos clips and occasional match highlights. she's entranced for the whole 47 minute duration lol.

she finds it dramatic (in a good way) and we have to kept pausing the vid because i have to explain to her things like jobbing and putting people over. like, dont be harsh on her but she did just found wrestling is fake like, a month ago. so ofc i have to explain how its more about trying to get ticket sales and merch from making sure the audience like what theyre seeing than actually winning since its scripted.

what she really enjoys is the acting from both of them. like, every time we see mjf reacting to punk, she exasperatedly talk about how his face is so goddamn punchable. and then she hates him even more when he opened his mouth. like, congrats mjf for provoking heel heat just from side-eyeing cm punk. my sister was legit booing him and we literally just watched his promo from my shitty phone at home. she kept asking when will we see him get his shit kicked in. it was funny, and funnier still when she ranted about how punk had a life and mental health to take care of and max doesnt have the right to feel betrayed when he left for his own good.
