1. Howmy Muse acts differently around their love interest(s)

Well, for Lavellan this is mostly the same as it is for Kel in previous asks. She’s more open with her emotions and overall friendlier out of the gate. For Solas, his behaviour is more... conflicted, I suppose. He feels drawn in by Lavellan but also hesitant, for a lot of reasons, and his conflicted impulses towards honesty and secrecy give him emotional whiplash sometimes.

2. Whatmy Muse admires about their love interest(s)

Lavellan admires Solas’ desire to do good and fix things, even despite all the issues that have come from it. She also admires that he takes responsibility for his wrongdoings, although by that same token, she wishes he would carry on along that road and get to the point where he therefor stops trying to do most things on his own. Solas admires... man it’d probably be shorter to list what he doesn’t admire about Lavellan. Her tenacity, her compassion, her skill... he’s a big fan.

3. Whatsort of daydreams / stray thoughts they have about their love interest(s)

Lavellan’s tend to veer more towards the sorrowful in TDWH, because at first she doesn’t know if she’ll ever see Solas again, and then she finds out he’s the Dread Wolf, and that’s... complicated. She tends to hear his voice in her thoughts, when she’s not actively avoiding thinking about him. Meanwhile Solas’ sentimentality waxes more towards the ‘in another life’ type, where, should he indulge in daydreams, they will usually be about how much simpler all of this would be if only his life wasn’t an ever-increasing series of disasters.

4. Theirworries/insecurities regarding their love interest(s)

Lavellan’s chief worry is that Solas is going to get himself and everyone else killed. She’s somewhat more worried about him getting himself killed, though, because up until we tread into AU territory, she has more faith than him in the resilience of the world at large. Solas... is just a giant cauldron of issues, not limited to thinking he’s personally unworthy and also cursed.

5. Howthey express their interest/affection prior to a relationship

Conversation, and casual physical contact! Especially since this is mostly when Solas is a wolf, and therefore dog-like enough for casual cuddles. But they both like to talk, and share their thoughts, and try to work out problems via discussion, so that’s mostly the name of the game.

6. Howthey go about confessing their attraction

Well, normally, Lavellan is pretty straight-forward and prone to making impulsive gestures (like just kissing someone in the Fade), while Solas... doesn’t. As a rule. Obviously he’s made something of an exception in this case, so they go with Lavellan’s approach, for the most part.

7. Howthey respond to a confession of attraction

Lavellan just kind of like ‘yay it’s reciprocated!’ whereas Solas thinks himself in circles. And usually kisses her, too. He’s kind of bad at this, for all his smooth-talking.

9. Anyphysical/emotional/mental/spiritual feature(s) they find attractive

Both of them are kind of attracted to the same things. Spirit. Determination. Solas is drawn in by Lavellan’s resolve towards problem-solving, too, which he finds comforting even as he kind of disbelieves it. And Lavellan likes Solas’ softer points very much.

13. Waysmy Muse seduces (or tries to) their love interest(s)

Once the ball gets rolling, Solas is good at seduction. Secluded locations, subtle invitations, considerate overtures - he knows the elements that work, and how to balance them as best he can against any presumptions or inequities that might arise, so that Lavellan doesn’t feel trapped. Not that she generally goes anyway, barring certain AU’s. Her approach is usually more straight-forward and tactile, with certain kinds of looks, and touches, or even just blunt ‘let’s go have sex’ type propositions.

14. MyMuse’s attitude towards sex and when/how to bring it up with their partner(s)

Solas’ attitude towards sex has been, for a while, that he probably shouldn’t have it, because none of his potential partners would actually be able to freely consent to it. This has recently changed for him, so he’s shifted his approach somewhat towards ‘might be possible, but tread carefully’. Lavellan is also a big fan of communication, though she’s pretty good at reading non-verbal cues and situational context.

15. Thedifferences between lust and love for my Muse

I always have trouble with this question, because it seems like a pretty clear separation of categories to me? Lust is just wanting to have sex with someone. Both Solas and Lavellan are pretty good at ignoring that impulse, in and of itself, and both would probably tend to do just that. Their lives are complicated, and they come from positions of power and influence - albeit, no longer recognized in the timeline they’re occupying circa TDWH. Love is attachment, and connection, and a desire for more than just a roll in the hay.

16. MyMuse’s kinks and how they would bring them up to their partners), if at all

Ah... hmm. Well. Solas, provided he is not possessed by a malevolent Old God he’s fighting at every turn, mostly just has a praise kink and a thing for mutual enjoyment. Not terribly risque. Lavellan’s flexible and willing to try stuff out but she doesn’t exactly have a huge repertoire of kinks from the outset. So probably they would just be figuring stuff out together, as they went along, and if one of them wanted to try something, they’d talk about it. Possibly while in passionate embrace, possibly sometime before they stage, depending on how big of a deal the proposition would be compared to their usual activities.

17. MyMuse’s sexual fantasies regarding their partner(s)

Lavellan would probably like to top the heck out of Solas at some point. Just turn him into a veritable puddle of submissive orgasmic bliss. Solas... would not object. Though for the most part, their fantasies tend to run more towards the ‘what if we had normal lives, wouldn’t that be neat, what if we were just, like, bakers or something’ line of things. Like, even the sexy ones are probably a bit of ‘okay so I’m a humble blacksmith and you’re my neighbour who just ordered some new pots and pans, and we’ve been flirting on and off for months and things finally come to a head while you’re picking up your delivery and I go back home with you...’

18. Howmy Muse shows their love for their partner(s) non-verbally/through actions

Dramatic life-saving type things aside, Lavellan usually demonstrates her affection through sheer presence. She hangs around, offers physical contact, or reassuring words. That sort of a thing. Solas makes romantic gestures by way of artwork, a lot, and is similarly inclined to just kind of... hang out.

Apart from ‘vhenan’ or ‘my love’ type stuff, neither of them are prone to this.

21. Howmy Muse would comfort their partner

Solas usually starts with an apology, because whatever’s happened, there are good odds he feels responsible for it. Apart from that, he tries to find solutions. So does Lavellan, for that matter. Both of them are also good at the tactile approach, and will cuddle up in times of strife. Unless they’re sort of on the outs with one another, then they’ll stick to verbal stuff.

He is just a lowly duke, only responsible for the people he grew up with. But a tragedy suddenly calls for him to take the king's throne.

They were arranged to marry each other since birth, so they grew up together as really good friends. And really good friends want to see their friends find true love, even if they are ready to marry for their kingdoms.

This marriage was supposed to bring peace to our lands, but all it created was awkwardness. (x)

Yup she can!

Inanallas has pm all the standard psychic/medium powers and while I’m still working on how best to translate some of those into a DA setting (and especially one pre-veil) things like clairvoyance which would cover the Fear thing I’ve got pm sorted out on how to explain it and all that.

Basically I’m translating all the clair-abilities (clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaudience, claircognizance, clairalience, clairgustance) as similar to how spirits perceive things but without the limitations a spirit can have, like how Cole can only “hear” the hurt and related elements, since as an elf they’re not so tied to a concept. The only limitations people like Inan have is the strength and consistency of their gift and their ability to comprehend and manage it.

There’s also the additional element of being able to sort of see the “layers” of reality which may or may not also be something shared with spirits. it’s not the best term imo but I don’t have anything better atm, basically seeing the overlap of the Fade and physical worlds along with any memories or pocket dimensions that might have been built. So unless Inanallas has intentionally reigned it in (and they generally do) they’re seeing/feeling/whatever an absolutely insane amount of shit constantly.

It’s this and Inanallas inherent unconscious pull towards the Interesting but Potentially Dangerous that makes Inan so good at sniffing out hidden shit even when they weren’t aiming too. 

Actually going back just a bit on the layers thing, it’s kinda like the rune Sandal gives Lavellan in TDWH only it’s in a psychic’s brain and there’s no ‘off’ unless they build it and only they can see the effects if that helps at all. 

A subsection of that is being able to read people the most base level is basically the same the emotion clouds that ancient elves have though harder for them to control and edit since it’s from a different internal source it then scales up from there into basically being able to know everything about a person and their life, like you’d expect from a psychic. Though just like with real psychics, those deeper levels require real work to get to, someone pushing the info into their head for Reasons or stumbling across it bc they basically had the psychic equivalent of a static shock and whoops. Information more than just their current emotional/mental state can get sensed without too much or any effort at all though.

So for example, Inanallas wouldn’t know right off the bat that Uthvir was tortured for years by Andruil just by looking at them, but they’d be able to see Fear and get the overall sense that Uthvir’s life had Sucked so far at they were very Sharp because of it and that they weren’t as old as Thenvunin. 

Like Inan Knew very quickly that Solas was an ancient elf but didn’t catch any of the other shit because well, she’s not an invasive asshole so she didn’t actually put effort into reading him, she just picked up on his age bc it was part of his general vibe.

So because of their natural ability they’re very good at picking up on things like Fear and have a very good sense of where people and magical things are in relation to them, then the eye tattoos just amplify that 360 vision re: it’s practical applications. 

Inan also would never say a damn thing about it unless caught in a situation they couldn’t keep quiet or pressed by Uthvir or something like that. They know there’s plenty they see that’s not their damn business so they just keep it Zipped as much as possible and never spill other people’s secrets to others unless it’s like, life threatening. 

And naturally when you take this into a post-veil context the elements are all still there but generally more spotty or requiring more effort and such.

🔥 - hmm, once or twice, but never in published fics! I’m a sex-repulsed asexual so I don’t really have interest in writing those personally. I have extreme difficulty writing them, too; they always end up awkward and rushed, lol.

🔮 - Ooooh, that’s a tough one. Everyone is different with their writing processes and how they go through burnout/writer’s block, so it really varies! For me, personally, I have little breaks worked into my writing “schedule” (if you can call it that), and I really try to focus on what is capturing my attention/creativity at the moment. That’s why I’m working on the next chapter of CorpseJuice rather than LoopJuice, because Loopjuice’s next chapter is going to be long and daunting, haha. Sometimes I work on my own passion project book, “That Dog Won’t Hunt”, if I’m really feeling stuck.

Also helps to have someone to buddy with! I have a discord server of people who I show sneak peeks to, and their excitement and the readers’ excitement gets me excited!! Even just having one person other than you to share it with can be really helpful.

Finally listening to “The Days We Had” without distraction and well, Ordinary is perfect. Something I would have added to a mixtape for Eric when we were younger and dating. But now, in the age of playlists, I’ll add this to our next road trip playlist, just for him. I can’t guarantee he’ll like the song, but he’ll like that I played a song for him. 

I had to wait a little bit for my CD copy of TDWH since I ordered it from the UK distributor. After it arrived, I waited a few more days to open it because I’ve been preoccupied with records lately. Eric bought me a turntable for my birthday and of course, I had to drag out the few records I own, listening to my childhood 45s and to some records I had been collecting but couldn’t play. I finally got to hear Bombay Bicycle Club’s To The Bone, which accompanied the album box set for “So Long, See You Tomorrow” and Catfish and Bottlemen’s single Hourglass, sung by Ewan McGregor on one side and the studio version on the other. 

And yes, I’m a dork and bought a vinyl copy (and waiting for it!) of TDWH too. I couldn’t resist, now that I have a turntable… plus, it’s autographed! Yay!

3. What is the best fandom you’ve ever been involved in?

Probably this one, the Looking Glass/Feynites fandom. It’s definitely the most active I’ve ever been in one, and everyone so far has been so lovely and supportive of each other and it’s wonderful.

8. How did you get involved in your latest fandom?Oh man. I think I wanted to read more Modern AU Solavellan and I came across the HWRC story and devoured it, then went on to The Dread Wolfs Heart (Because it was completed already and I thought ‘oh by the time I get through this, HWRC will update!’ and it did, once.) and then I read through  TDWH AUs (Specifically the porny ones tbh) and then I wanted to read more and found Feynites tumblr and quietly liked everything for a long long time until more info came out and quietly wrote private stories and drew pictures of Selene and Thenvunin (Don’t judge me, first draft Selene was very different from who she is now and Sharkbait wasn’t a thing yet) because he was my favorite, and then Dirthamen popped up and I rambled in tags about Selene being a good match for him and then Fey messaged me like 'hey tell me more about Selene because Dirthamen deserves good things’ and I made a little list and then I wrote a backstory (that I think Fey is still the only person to have read, whoops) and now it’s taken over my life and it’s great.

9. What are the best things about your current fandom?Pretty much everyone is supportive of each other and it’s nice to have a fandom where when people do try to start drama everyone sort of collectively publicly ignores it and creates more positivity instead of feeding into it.

12. Who is your current OT3?

Deceit/Selene/Dirthamen, But Steve/Darcy/Bucky from the marvel fandom is pretty high up there too.

14. Go on, who are your BroTPs?Aelynthi/Thenvunin, Selanna, Selene/Adannar, uhhhh…there are a lot, tbh. Like a LOT.

15. Is there an obscure ship which you love?(Does Dirthalene or Desashim count?)  I quietly but intensely ship Haninan and Hildur in LG, and also Aili Lavellan and Uthvir in all of their various AUs.

18. What ship have you written the most about?Dirthalene hands down. I’m almost at 1000 posts on this blog that’s almost entirely dedicated to them and I’m just stunned I was even capable of producing anything. For a really long time I left things very private or just in my head because I didn’t think anyone would be interested.

19. Is there a ship which you wished you could get behind, but you just don’t feel them?Not really? I’m pretty open to most ships, so long as you can show it’s a healthy relationship.

20. Any ships which you surprised yourself by liking?Desashim wasn’t supposed to happen, but here I am with headcanons and storylines in my head for them.

22. Is there anything you regret writing?Ehh….I don’t love Mermaid AU. I mean I do, and I liked what it was in my head but I can’t even look at the writing anymore tbh. I don’t regret it per se, because it started a lot of people talking and interacting with it, which is why I won’t pull it down. It’s still something I’d like to redo once my writing skills improve, but I just don’t think I got across what I wanted to with it.

23. Name a fic you’ve written that you’re especially fond of & explain why you like it.I really like the reincarnation AU. It’s one of my favorites. I like having a Selene whose gotten past a lot of her personal issues and can work with Des rather than against him, and I like that it’s got a lot of fluff and a lot of potential for fluff and porn and I can usually reread my own bits for it without feeling embarrassed about the quality of it.

26. How do you come up with your fanfic titles?Usually I like alliteration or a quote or something relating to the overall theme of the piece. Or a pun. I like puns.

27. What do you hate more: Coming up with titles or writing summaries?Summaries. There is a reason I don’t really have any summaries, but I still occasionally title.

30. What inspires you to write?Other people’s writings or art, usually. A tag or something I was tagged in, or someone else posting something and my mind going 'OH OH OH AND WHAT IF THEN-’ and so on.

Third person usually. It’s just what I usually read and think in, so that’s what I tend to write.

38. Do you use established canon characters or do you create Ocs?OCs (with permission) are more fun, and less likely to spark arguments in my experience.

45. What is your all time favourite fanfic?I can’t pick one, I love too many (literally I can barely pick favorites from my favorite authors there’s no way I could pick one fanfic that was my absolute favorite, sorry)

46. If someone was to read one of your fanfics, which fic would you recommend to them and why?This would depend a whole lot on what they were looking for, to be honest.

49. Do you care if people comment/reblog your writing? Why/why not?Yes, because I thrive on attention and compliments, they make me feel warm and fuzzy and I like knowing that the work and effort that goes into things means something to someone.

50. How did you get into reading and/or writing fanfiction?I got my own computer at the age of 7, and didn’t have an allowance or income so I splurged by reading whatever I could find for free. 

51. Rant or Gush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!I love that people can explore tropes and characters outside of what’s considered the social norm, I love that even if Tony and Bruce are never going to have another on-screen moment together in the MCU, I can hop onto AO3 and find several hundred stories about them getting happily ever afters, or about Tony getting the mental health and support he needs, or that if something terrible happens in canon there will be plenty of other 'canon-divergent’ stories that go AHAHA NOPE, and I love that it’s created this atmosphere where characters in the public eye can become more well-rounded and explored outside of time or budget constraints just because people want them to and I think that sense of creativity and creation and community is wonderful.
