We need a TD character who is a big fan of the Hunger Games. They hope a challenge features a long countdown and everybody standing on pedestals like in the Games for that similar tension.

They start second guessing themself during the countdown.

Day 76: Raj – The Alternate Hockey Captain

I loved Raj in the reboot; he’s one of my favorites. He seems like such a gentle kid, and then he becomes aggressive when he gets into hockey mode; it’s a fun juxtaposition.

We didn’t see much of it, but I could see subtle characterization in how he always followed Wayne’s lead on game plans and getting into shenanigans. He really became his own person once he started crushing on Bowie, and it made him the more developed of the two hockey players. It was interesting how after being Wayne’s number one supporter, Wayne became that for him about the crush. It’s too bad that he had to be medically evacuated because his and Bowie’s ship was just beginning to sail.

I really like what they did with Raj in the second round. When Bowie became involved in MK and Julia’s cheating, Raj got upset with him because his boyfriend’s morals were conflicting with his own about playing fair. We also got to see him hang out with Bowie a bit more without Wayne even though he begged Bowie to pick Wayne as a team member; he had a good balance of best friend and boyfriend without any jealousy conflicts and that was great. I was shocked when he was the first hockey boy eliminated because I thought him getting to the end would have fit well with MK or Julia also reaching the finale and exploring the concept of fair play versus cheating.

I would love to see Raj play again. I feel like there’s a lot that can be done with a gentle yet aggressive player like him. Plus, we were robbed of more Rajbow kisses in the second round.

I don't understand how I have days or weeks of nothingness (being an NPC) and then you come back and announce things like this. It all seems very random. Okay, what was the toilet countdown dream about?

The general atmosphere of how it feels to wait. The child's toilet was the first timeline (and you weren't done so you had to find another toilet). The adult toilet is the second timeline (now). The adult toilet had a countdown that was roughly double the time of the child's toilet. ‘Adult' because you have achieved so much before compared to before. (It comes to mind that when I became aware of all this, I waited around one year for the July 2022 TD countdown and now it's been almost two years since then)

The key point of the dream was that it 'feels like' this much time has passed. In the dream you could not read the actual numbers of the countdown properly. Refer to the sensations. That was the indeed the whole point. Regarding the latter, we simply changed our minds.

Taiora Discord Server | One Week Countdown!

ONE WEEK LEFT! Exactly one week from now on Sunday the 5th of September at 12AM GMT+1 the Taiora Discord Server will be open for you people to join! Right now we're busy making everything ready to go once you guys enter the wonderful world of Taiora Discord. We're working on setting permissions and bots and such, making roles and are readying all the channels.

To pre-celebrate the opening and have some countdown fun, I prepared a little Taiora-queue with in it by myself created Taiora content such as fanfiction and meta and Taiora content created by others like my favorite fanart, favorite fanfiction, meta, edits, gifs and so on.

Day 83: Bowie – The Crown Chaser

Bowie was one of my favorites of the reboot generation. He radiated confidence that he would reach the end from his first scene, and I felt that.

Just like Zee being representation for physical disabilities, it was so satisfying that Bowie was open representation for LGBT viewers rather than only hinted like in previous seasons. Of course, he was more than just LGBT representation; he was a smart, strategic player which he displayed by organizing for Caleb to be voted out first despite how attractive he saw him. His friendship with Emma was fun when Emma wasn’t obsessing over Chase, and his relationship with Raj was cute. The best part was his rivalry with Julia once she showed her true personality, and how he created drama at the semi-finals between Millie and Priya with the notebook. He came for the crown, and he almost won it.

Going into the second round, I wondered how Bowie would try to avoid early elimination. Apparently the trick was to align with the hockey boys, bring Julia onto his team as a voting shield, and sometimes cheat in the challenges. Bowie’s moral compass was in between Julia and Raj’s, which made for an interesting conflict for his character as the season progressed; he was fine with cheating until Raj confronted him about it and convinced him to play more fairly. I knew the chances of him going far again were low, so I wasn’t entirely surprised when he was first eliminated at the merge.

I would love to see Bowie compete again. He’s a great strategic player, and I would love to see more of his relationship with Raj along the way.

Dreams from 8.5.24

Dream 1 I was getting ready for work in the morning but I was distracted by something on my phone. On the screen was an app I'd never seen before and it had been inadvertently left running all night while I was sleeping. It was some kind of GPS tracking app because I saw a plane flying over a world map, so I guess it was like a live flight tracker. It was counting the time that had passed, which was exactly 7 hours and 42 minutes and even showed the seconds and milliseconds. I felt that this matched up with the amount of time I had been asleep. I was confused with why it was there but I exited out the app quickly. I was panicked that it had been running that long because it was probably expensive to run and I didn't want to pay any extra money. Then my mother came into my room which annoyed me. She had her phone out and was trying to pass it to me. She wanted to know how long it would take for her to fly back to Vietnam, like the flight duration I suppose. I basically ignored her because I was trying to get ready for work, while also being worried about having to pay a huge phone bill.

Notes: I feel that this is a countdown dream. My alarm in the morning is usually at 7:45am, so we're '3 minutes away'. I'm still in 3D though.

Dream 2 I was on a trip with my sister and we were at the end of it. We were in a nice idyllic country town that was probably a few hours from home. I was thinking about what day we were going home. I thought probably we had booked one more night's accommodation and were going to go home on Saturday but it turns out the booking was until Sunday. I could see the details on my phone, 'checkout time 10am on Sunday'. But I realised I had a shift on Sunday. I don’t know why I hadn’t taken the time off properly, I just know I looked at the roster and there I was, scheduled on to work. I wanted to stay, I would have loved the extra day and I thought of ways to make this happen. I was going to message my coworkers to see if anyone was available to cover me. I thought of AL, perhaps she could take the shift and I could cover one of hers during the week in exchange. But how silly, she already works with me on Sundays as it is, it would have to be someone else. I quickly realised there was no one else. We would have to drive home on Saturday then. I will have to try and get a refund from the owner of the place we're staying at since we'd booked an extra night without needing it.

My sister and I were getting ready for bed. She opened the door to our bedroom and was about to head in to use the bathroom that was down the hallway but she heard other people approaching. She quickly shut the door because she didn't want to be seen and didn't feel safe. It turns out the other rooms in the hallway were not for our private use but were 'share' rooms that could be accessed by other guests, like the bathroom and living room etc. I don't think this was the case before now. Meanwhile I was thinking about how I was really grateful that I had a whole day left, my heart was just delighted. Its like that feeling when you're on holiday and you're glad you have a few days left to really fully and completely immerse yourself. I think I was packing too, I was putting things into suitcases.

Notes: We should enjoy this time we have left. I am leaving the holiday to go back to work but in this case it is probably talking about the work of the TD.
