A new ABC News Live special, “Tone Death: Loss & Hip-Hop,” documents the violence plaguing the rap community in recent years. The deaths of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. in the late ‘90s sent shockwaves through the world and marked a turning point in hip-hop and rap music. However, the violence in the rap community is becoming commonplace.ABC News correspondent Mona Kosar Abdi reports on where this violence is coming from, why it is so prevalent and how the rap industry can break the cycle. The thirty-minute program features interviews with people who have felt the pain of this violence firsthand, including G. Herbo, a Chicago-raised rapper who shares his own stories and personal experience with PTSD, and Audrey Jackson and Zodiah Freedman, the mothers of slain rappers Pop Smoke and TDott Woo. Additional interviews with mental health professionals, journalists and other experts include Dr. Jaleel Abdul Adil, Ph.D., who uses hip-hop as therapy in cases of adolescent trauma; Rob Markman, music journalist; Ivie Ani, journalist and culture commentator; and LaToya Swayer, Ph.D., an expert on African American cultural rhetoric. “Tone Death: Loss & Hip-Hop” debuts Tuesday, March 14 (8:30p.m. EDT/9:30p.m PDT), on ABC News Live, streaming next day on Hulu.

Reggel idö ideje korán felkeltem, de hát mire megnéztem, mi van Nanjingban, meg mire kitaláltam, hova megyek, meg mire rávettem magam, hogy elinduljak, eltelt némi idő. Reggel nagyon kevés volt a hostelbe az ember, jó sokan aludtak (fél nyolckor). De nem baj. Az utcán meg zenélt a locsolóautó egy szép dallamot, ami nem tudom mi, de ismerem. Aztán vettem banánt, mert véletlen rossz irányba indultam el a metróhoz. És mindent értettem, amit a néni mondott, úgyhogy büszke voltam magamra. :D Aztán meg a metróval csak 3 megálló volt a templomka, ahová mentem, és bakker irtó szép volt. Mármint csak az utca is olyan szép volt, hogy nagyon. Köel volt onnan a templom is, ami nagyonon nagy volt. Fel kellett mászni magasra, és akkor volt ott még, meg még, meg még épület, és sok szép volt. Látszott onnan a városfal is, ahová fel akartam mászni, de meg is találtam jól a feljárókát, csak 30 yuan a belépő (15 igazából, mert diák), de gondoltam, nem megyek, mert majd a többiekkel. De jól elsétálgattam a tó mellett, néztem ki a fejemből, csodálkoztam, meg sütött a nap. Aztán a Barbiért mentem az állomásra, és jól megtaláltuk egymást. Gondoltuk, megyünk enni. Mentünk is, egy plázába akartunk menni, mert hogy ott biztos van kaja (Yangzhou-ból és Wuhan-ból kiindulva), de inkább nézett ki kínai piacnak, mint plázának. Szóval onnan kicsit menekültünk, és nehezen találtunk olyan helyet, ami szimpatikus volt és szívesen ettünk volna ott. Cserébe elmentünk rengeteg körmös mellett, meg volt egy szépség mall is. xO De aztán siker. És a Dalma meg odajött, szóval az jó volt. Ettünk finomat. Aztán becsekkoltunk a szállásra. Tőlük kértek depositot meg csomó mindent, amit nekem nem kellett. Fura volt. Meg a recepciós nem ugyanaz volt, mint nekem, és ő nem tdott aangolul, úgyhogy egy másik srác odajött fordítani. Aki tök magas volt xO és amúgy elég jól beszélt. Körbemutogatták megint a helyet, aztán beszélgettünk a szobában és jó volt. Olyan öt körül indultunk el a Betti campusára, hogy aztán együtt menjünk, és igazából csak sétálgattunk a városban, ettünk fagyit, néztünk boltokat, plüssöket, játékokat, vacsoráztunk, ittunk Coco-t (már zártak, csak mi külföldiek vagyunk, úgyhogy néha kapunk dolgokat, amiket amúgy más nem kap, és a mai Coco is ilyen volt, mert a maradékot adták nekünk. Kikaptuk az inninket és konkrétan utána lehúzták a rolót és páka volt.) Aztán már mentünk vissza aludni, mert jó késő lett. Metró.
