Lindsay is Doughy, Orel/Beth’s dimwitted, loyal best friend.

Dave is Reverend Putty, the uptight, sexually-frustrated hypocrite.

Gwen is Stephanie Putty, the misunderstood alt girl.

Jo is Ms. Censordoll: egotistical, ambitious, ruthless, and anti-romantic or anti-warmth of any kind.

Chris is Dr. Potterswheel, the sadist hiding behind the authority-figure facade and smiling veneer.

Dakota is Nurse Bendy, the shallow blonde valley girl with a troubled inner life.

Ripper is Joe, the thickheaded school bully with a heart of gold deep, deep, deep down in there, only brought out with his loved one.

And Zoey would be Christina, sweet and polite like Orel and with a similarly unpleasant upbringing, whose heart never shrinks because of it.
