A single, basically age appropriate star with a ton of money and an international audience who love her will look like red meat to Scientology/Tom Cruise. That’s what bugs me about all that TC stuff. They are predatory. He is at the age now where he must be thinking about his legacy and having a public relationship with another huge star would do a lot to further clean up his reputation which was heavily damaged in the 00s and is still funky around the edges, especially in the US. It would hurt Shakira’s reputation which was why she was so quick to have people publicly speak against it when she has just let stuff fester before. But she still has some sort of relationship with him, friendly or whatever. There was another story making the rounds that according to her brother TC had set up a private viewing for her of Maverick last year at their home when her dad was in bad shape. So this “pursuit” stuff may have been going on for a while.

I get what you're saying. And tbh, I thought about that too. It wouldn't be surprising for somebody like TC to be interested in Shakira. It's also not surprising that the church would be attracted to the association with one of the biggest international superstars in the world. But when you think about, lots of things would have to come together for a hypothetical relationship to happen. The two most important: that Shakira the person & the brand would be willing to embrace sc***ogy. Which neither seem likely. Shakira's not a young, naive, upcoming artist, and i'm sure they're aware of that. Things didn't work out with TC's last two high profile relationships. And both of those failed relationships, are a strain in TC's reputation. I don't think it's a route that would be convenient for them. TC's a strange case, because everybody knows he's the face of that church, and there's so much shady information that has come to light about them, but somehow he's still respected in the media? Not to say his PR wouldn't love the idea of a new power couple involving Tom, but I just can seem them targeting somebody like Shakira that has equally a lot of power and influence in the media as him. Assuming that she would be interested in him, and actually embraces the church (which is a HUGE long shot) It could easily backfire in so many ways.

Objectively speaking, his PR team is smart. Shakira's recently single, extremely smart, loved by the public, beautiful, an amazing mother, and is living a re peak in her career. The public also showed her a lot of sympathy this past year. His team leaking that TC's is "extremely interested" in pursuing her makes him look good imo. I mean, what decent, single, man would not be interested in a woman like that? To me it's all PR. It makes TC seem more relatable and normal to be associated with somebody so humane and who's gone through a lot recently.

Cloud Companion Drops New Bedroom Pop Single "Same Picture" via Flyer Club Records

Austin-based musician/songwriter Cloud Companion has released their new single Same Picture. This synth-driven, mid-tempo groove offers an exploration of reality as experienced through daily life. Same Picture is the second single off Cloud Companion’s upcoming album, "Ordinary Time.” Fresh off the release of “Can U Hear Me,” which was praised by Austin Chronicle for its “twinkly riffs and squeaky-clean electronics straight from heaven,” Cloud Companion is back with Same Picture. Influenced by the Tao Te Ching, Same Picture emphasizes the ever-changing perspectives through which we encounter reality, inviting listeners to contemplate the significance of their perceptions. SXSW weighs in after Texas governor tells artists pulling out of the music festival because of the US Army 'don't come back'

South by Southwest acknowledged artists who boycotted the festival due to US Army sponsorship.

Gov. Greg Abbott's dismissal of the protesters triggered SXSW's statement supporting free speech.

Despite the controversy, SXSW is maintaining its military sponsorship.

South by Southwest pushed back in response to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Tuesday after he demanded artists who pulled out of the festival due to US Army involvement not return to Texas.

Numerous bands and artists have dropped out during and in the days leading up to SXSW in opposition to the US Army's sponsorship of the eight-day festival. Artists have stated they do not want to associate with the US military and are protesting its support for Israel by not participating.

And to that, Abbott responded on X: "Bye. Don't come back."
