I really wonder what Braelin and Valas were thinking about this coup, honestly.
#sellswords#yes I know they were introduced and/or fleshed out later#but listen: I don't care#I am very entertained by their possible perspectives should Rai'gy and Kimmuriel have defeated Jarlaxle and Entreri#tbh while Kimmuriel handled BDA well enough after Jarlaxle named him co-leader#I doubt he and shardbrain Rai'gy would've been able to keep it going for very long#NON-shardbrain Rai'gy probably would've done okay#although he and Kimmuriel would never have gotten as far with it as Kimmuriel/Jarlaxle did together#and I wonder how many of their members would have left or at least tried to distance themselves?#probably not very many since personal loyalty isn't a big thing for most of them#but Braelin and Valas are uniquely loyal individuals#Valas fought until he was the last man standing with his trade caravan before fleeing into the labyrinth#he stayed loyal to BDA when Jarlaxle was on the surface having his mid-life crisis#and I could see him staying loyalish even if Jarlaxle were no longer in the picture but frankly I think he'd keep his eyes open for an out#and Braelin is very personally loyal to Jarlaxle specifically so I could see him doing the same and getting out even sooner#or maybe he'd wait and leave with Valas since they have similar skill sets and temperaments and I like to think Valas trained him
