(the scarecrow meets bat-mite! bc it just smth that needs to happen lol. i was wondering for a while what crane might have done with use of bat-mite's reality bending powers. the joker used it to repeatedly murder bruce over an' over, till he actually broke him. but what about jon? an' what if instead of possessing a scrap of bat-mite's power, he pretty much manipulated him into doing his bidings? bat-mite generally is a very naive creature. he helped the bad guys by accident before. who said that crane can't find a way to make him do that again. esp if bat-mite might get all sad an' whiny about batman once again telling him to not get into his way.

also there is smth about one batman obssessed freak teaming up with another, where one party is unintentianally sadistic an' inconsiderate *bat-mite* an' the other is actually well-aware about what they're doing. perhaps, jon will put it this way to bat-mite : that if he wants his hero to evolve, he needs to put him through hardships of mental nature. an' who is better at this, than crane? an' who can be more helpful in this experiment, than bat-mite, who can twist reality in the ways he sees fit? they'd make one dream *nightmare fuel* team.

there is some irony in this too. batman's biggest fan is also his biggest enemy in a way. at some point, bat-mite literally destroyed universe with other similiar creature *forgot his name* just out of spite lol. or by accident? i don't really remember which one it was, but the point still stands. once jonathan will get a sniff of the fact, that not only this extremely powerful being is guidable, but that it's also doesn't understand human's limits…

tbh, part of me wants to draw batman with scarecrow-mite *scare-mite?*, bc i'm pretty sure that we saw that tiny straw creature in some bat-mite comic before. kinda be funny for them to also 'team-up'. i wonder what scare-mite's agenda is, considering how everything in mite's world is generally random an' hella goofy lol. an' then how strong is he? can he do all the same stuff, that bat-mite does, or it's different per creature? so many questions, esp if compared to bat-mite, that one will actually be somewhat well-behaved.)

Ahh i mentioned "pacino quirks" in my Carlito ask! So funny that someone picked up on it. Basically he always does something surprising that makes a character feel human, more than a series of lines in a script. Might be just a lil movement or unexpected line delivery. My personal fave is DDA, Sonny has a facial tic when he's nervous which adds fragility even in his most threatening moments so we always kinda see the scared lil dude under the facade. Lots of actors do it but Al is the best ❤️

SKODSGJFKG I WENT STRAIGHT TO IRL AL’S QUIRKS. 💀💀 Oopsie, my bad. 😂😂 But yessss, I love the quirks he gives to his characters in his films so, SO much! There’s a lot of actors and actresses I admire for many reasons, but the way Al portrays his characters...his acting, his style...EVERYTHING... It’s phenomenal. I haven’t seen it done like that from anyone else. He really brings his characters and roles to life and that’s why you look at them and go “yeah, nobody BUT Al can have this role” 😭 Francis Ford Coppola was so real for being the first to say that. 💀❤ HE KNEW!!!

I remember reading somewhere that Al purposefully moved heavier (with whatever actions he did) and was “broodier” (😂) to fit Michael, and when I read the script of TGF2, I noticed things Michael was supposed to say as lines that were taken out. Al has really just molded Michael perfectly. Those stern, cold eyes for one...mmmm... 

I also remember when I was going to first watch Scarecrow that I read up the plot of the film and thought “well okay, these are just some guys” (good way 😂) but the way Al portrayed Lion is not just “some guy”, he’s the best “just a little guy”!! He’s got that warmth and wholesomeness radiating off of him. He could have just been “some guy” who was a sailor tagging along with Max, but tbh the little nose scrunching, the smiles, the wholesome way he interacts with people with just his body language, yeah... I could ramble on and on about the quirks he gives for his characters. 😭💞

I love titans!Jason a whole ton because of just how bold and cocky he is. He's a prime example of how people his age are, less inhibitions and more carefree life. He fits into that phase of thinking he's invincible (at least until what happens with Deathstroke.) Knowing what's coming up for him kinda makes me sad because we only have so much precious time with him as Robin, and I was enjoying it. Like, I'm excited to see the next part of his character, but it seemed to come so fast. Especially since they're already going to be running so many plotlines this season, with the Scarecrow stuff and the Blackfire situation, not to mention Raven going to help with the Donna issue. Jason being, well, Jason Todd and not Red Hood, is running on borrowed time and I just want them to do him justice.

I’m tentatively excited but don’t want to have too much hope of that makes sense. I write a lot. And I have ideas of how plots tend to go. I’m the worst to take to see a detective movie because I high key will spoil it in the first 20 minutes a lot. Like shutter island I called in the first 10 minutes. Loved that movie. Anyways, I’m very off topic lmao. But I just don’t know how they’ll fit it all in with both Red Hood and Blackfire storylines and introducing Barbara Gordon AND Tim Drake, especially since Jason is still Robin (!!!). I love scarecrow so I hope that goes good 🤞🏼

Unpopular opinion: But the actor playing Jason gets undue hate. Is Titans very canon compliant? No. But is any adaptation? No. Canon isn’t even canon compliant at this point. But everyone wants Jason todd, larger than life murderer and vigilante that’s been doing it for years. They also want him hypersexualized that isn’t even in the comics. That’s not the story of Titans. He’s a teenager that is Robin.

And live action Jason Todd is so complicated because his character goes through a physical transformation that would be harmful to an actor. Like they really have 3 choices which is to get someone that fits Robin, that they did, and make him seem bigger and more intimidating through movie magic (which they can make tom cruise look bigger they can certainly make curren Walters look bigger). We don’t want him on steroids or something. They could have hired someone that is big and Red Hood-ish and then it’ll be like Terry Cruz wearing the tag that says 9 year old child and he looks ridiculous next to Dick Grayson because he’s supposed to be a kid next to Nightwing’s adult. Or the third and cursed option is hiring one actor for robin and another for red hood. And that’s horrific unless they happen upon a family where they look almost identical but one is a few years older and they happen to be able to act. That’ll never happen especially since we are supposed to care about this character and changing actors is almost a guaranteed way to kill a character in most shows.

Also most people who say he acts nothing like Jason todd haven’t read his stories before turning into the red hood. After under the red hood came out they decided to add in the fact that he was an angry Robin that basically deserved and was doomed to die but that’s not true. He was happy, enthusiastic, and a nerd. He was sometimes naive and sweet and made mistakes.

But it wasn’t his hubris that killed him, it was his heart. He genuinely thought his mother was in trouble and tried to save her; not that he thought he could take on the joker by himself.

Same thing for the people that want sunshine unicorn fanon dick Grayson. Nope! He gets angry and dark and isolates sometime. And holy hell does brenton thwaites look like him.

2 characters I think titans got totally wrong? Bruce Wayne and Garth. Garth looks like Arthur curry in comics and I don’t get it tbh. And Bruce Wayne has the personality but he’s not a DILF. Playboy is right in his title and that guy isn’t it. But he’s a side character anyways.

Rogues + Hands/Hand Holding HCs

Ever get that absolutely feral urge to hold someone’s hand n gently tell em how much they mean to u??? Anyways its currently day ?????? of quarantine, and I imagine that more than a few of us are touch-starved atm. Also! Feel free to send a request!

Bane: 

Fucking LARGE. WIDE. covered in callouses and scars, but they’re really warm.

Kinda neutral to hand-holding (he’s much more likely to do it when he’s somewhere private with his s/o).

When he does hold his s/o’s hand tho he’s SO GENTLE... SO TENDER...

Catwoman: 

Her hands are covered in scratches, but Selina is pretty strict about her skin care, so they’re really glowy and most of her injuries heal/dissapear pretty quickly.

 Her nails are also impeccable.

 She’ll tease her s/o with very brief, deliberate touches, but she normally relents after a bit and will twine her fingers with her s/o’s 

Clayface: 

Slime??? literally slime.

He gets really, really weird whenever his s/o asks to hold his hand. Like. are they talking about his *actual* slime hand, or do they want him to transform his arm into something more, like, human?

He will LITERALLY melt in his s/o’s hand

Harley Quinn: 

Slightly sweaty, but fits perfectly into any hand. She tries to maintain her nails whenever she can, but more often than not, they’re a little uneven and her nail polish somehow always gets chipped within hours of appling a new coat. 

Massive advocate for hand holding in literally a n y situation, and will cling to her s/o at any given moment.

Absolutely swings her s/o’s hand whenever they walk together. she might fling u into the sun from swinging too hard.

Joker: 

Sticky :( 

He is ambivalent towards handholding. If he’s swept away in the moment, he’ll hold his s/o’s hand, but otherwise it’s up in the air.

Feel free to try, but it’s not guarenteed that he’ll give your hand back :(:(:(

Killer Croc:

pretty enthusiastic hand holder tbh. 

hands are obviously big n scaly

sometimes he might forget his own strength but he apologizes if he squeezes to hard. He doesn’t really do it that often!!! so he’ll always check with his s/o if he’s “doing it right”

Mad Hatter:

He over-washes his hands so they tend to be pretty dry :(

That being said!!! they’re rlly dainty, and they smell nice.

Looooooves holding his s/o’s hand. He WILL swing his s/o’s hand, but he’s not as agressive about it as Harley is

Mr. Freeze:

COLD AND DRY!!! Even before his accident!!!

He’s got nice slender fingers tho, and he has a delicate touch.

Nora likes to grab his hands and bring them up to her face to kiss them- that’s the only occassion where they warm up

Penguin: 

If he isn’t wearing gloves, you’d find that his hands are soft, and really fucking cold. 

He’s not a massive fan of Public Hand Holding (he gets FLUSTERED and he worries that it makes him look vulnerable) so he prefers tucking his s/o’s hand into his arm and walking with them that way. 

He’s a lot more open to it though if he’s somewhere private/ where the attention isn’t on him, and he has a habit of running his thumb along his s/o’s hand as a way of quietly voicing his affection.

Poison Ivy:

The texture of her hands feel different depending on her mood, if that makes any sense. The chemicals in her body react to her emotions, so the way her skin feels when she’s feeling relaxed will be much different than when she’s stressed out

Her hands are MUCH stronger than they look. 

Likes to hold her s/o’s hands, but she doesn’t make a big deal out of it.

Riddler: 

He’s got sweaty hands, and is a chronic nail-biter.

He looooooves intimate contact with his s/o, so he’s a big fan of hand holding. That being said, he has a habit of getting distracted and letting go of their hand, remembering, and grabbing them again. Repeat that multiple times during ONE trip to the grocery store.

If he does not receive verbal or physical attention and validation every hour, He Will Quite Literally Perish.

Scarecrow:

Really long fingers, and are more calloused than they may look from a distance (former farmboy who decided to make burlap his Big Statement).

He doesn’t really like physical contact, even with his s/o, so hand holding is more or less off the table.

However, if he’s sitting next to his s/o while they’re both working, he might ocassionally reach over to stroke their hand.

Two-Face: 

Kinda depends on what hand you’re trying to hold? His scarred hand is obviously going to be feel different from his other one, and it’s very easy for it to get irritated, so he only uses his left hand sparingly or when he has a lot of adrenaline.

He’s gotta be in a good mood to hold hands. He’s not against it, but Harv shows his affections differently. If his s/o instigates it, he’ll hold their hand, but otherwise he doesn’t really start it.

He actually really likes to twine his fingers with his s/o’s.

WA: What's the craziest Walmart experience you've ever had? For somebody who's lived here a lot longer than me- You have to have some good ones, right?

Oh god okay I have a few good ones including the fact that I’m now (like the Waynes, though through unrelated events) banned from the biggest Walmart in the city.

First off, so a little background - we have SO MANY Walmarts in this city, like a totally ridiculous unnecessary number, but the main ones featuring here are: the little Walmart in Burnley, near Gotham U; the dodgy Walmart in East End; and, of course, the biggest Walmart in the city, the one in the Diamond District.

Right, so I obviously have the standard weird Walmart stories everyone has of ordinary people just generally doing weird shit because Walmart is like this bizarre time warp where people feel like they can just do whatever. These stories, however, are not what I’m here to write about today.

This is going to get ridiculously long, so bear with and join me under the cut line.

Alright, so first up - the little Walmart in Burnley. Given I listed it as being near Gotham U, you can probably guess that dumbass college students fit in here, right? So, I was visiting it because I have friends at Gotham U - we were there about midnight. Anyway, we’re just going about our business and these other kids come in, completely gone - like, imagine the drunkest person you’ve ever seen anywhere, and then imagine ten of them all together in one ridiculously belligerent group. So this manager nearby to us is just gearing up to go stop them from climbing on the racks and stuff, right, and then none other than Scarecrow himself marches out from one of the aisles and gives these guys a lecture. I have no idea why he was at Walmart, I have no idea what he said to them, but I can tell you they literally took off outta there like their asses were on fire. Scarecrow looked smug (I think? It’s hard to tell behind the potato sack, and he was wearing the potato sack) and then wandered off back to whatever he was doing.

Alright, so the next one was the one in East End. As y’all know, East End is the dodgy end of Gotham - like, even I wouldn’t go down there at night alone. Understandably, this is the dodgy Walmart of the city. But I have a friend living down that end of the city, and I was staying at her place, and for some reason she absolutely insisted at 11 at night that she needed to get groceries right now, so we ended up there.

At the same time as most of the Batfam.

Like, I kid you not. I guess they got hungry out on patrol and decided that Walmart was the best place to stop off? Batman wasn’t there, but pretty much all the other vigilantes were, and so me and my friend lowkey stalked them around the place to find out what they were getting (Nightwing LOVES cereal, btw. Like you have no idea how much)

Anyway, I’ve saved the best for last. The Walmart in the Diamond District. The nicest one in the city. The Walmart I’m no longer welcome in.

I want to defend myself, but I totally deserve the ban.

So the Walmart we’re talking about here is huge. Like, if you’ve never been in, you can’t appreciate the size - the place is crazy. Me and a friend (also now banned from the store for the same reason, fyi) had gone in just for the hell of it, you know? We were going to explore the place and see what kinda crazy stuff the place sells, because you get down the back of the big Walmarts and they see some seriously weird stuff tbh

Anyway, we managed to spend the best part of the afternoon and evening there, and then it was getting really late and the place was closing up and me and my friend were like you know what? Let’s just stay here overnight (we thought it’d make a great story, plus it seemed like a fun idea)

Anyway, we hide out in the camping aisle until the place is all locked up (you have to realise this is like, midnight at this point) and we go on this tour of Walmart at midnight (and resist the urge to steal stuff, bc that’s bad). All’s going well until we hear voices and we go oh shit, it’s a security guard, so obviously we hide.

Except.

Except it isn’t a security guard.

It’s criminals. In the goddamn Diamond District Walmart at midnight. There’s like, five of these guys, and only two of us, and no matter how much confidence Gotham City gives you in fights it’s not enough to take on five criminals, so we just settle for following them through Walmart.

So it’s two of us, following these five criminals through this huge-ass Diamond District Walmart in the middle of the night and we’re resisting the urge to laugh because the whole thing’s so ridiculous.

Anyway, we eventually get to where the criminals are going - the back of Walmart, where - I shit you not - under the stacks of boxes at the back, the criminals were storing their crates of drugs. To this day, I don’t know what kinda drugs, or why they were using Walmart as a storage place, but at this point we were like shit this is serious we gotta get outta here, and we went to escape.

Except right then I fell over a box and made a hell of a lot of noise. I’m 99% sure this specific incident is the closest I’ve ever come to death, because those guys would have legit killed me and my friend to keep their stash secret if it weren’t for the fact that right then, Nightwing came in through the ceiling and beat the shit out of them.

Long story short, he’d been tracking the guys for ages, and had only just figured out where they were keeping the drugs. The cops got called, Walmart management got called, and we got thanked for our service and asked very very nicely to please never ever come back to that Walmart again.

So yeah. Gotham City’s crazy, y’all, and the Walmarts here are even crazier.

s1e1 - 11 under the cut due to length

Having done a little time among Norse pagan / polytheist online circles, I’ve got a few words about e11 “Scarecrow”.

s1e1: I called Jessica dying before the episode ended, and my friend was trying so hard to not comment. #one of those shows

s1e2: *vague concerns of misusing Native lore* *actually surprised that Sam and Dean aren’t knowledgeable in camping because it’d be useful survival skills*

s1e3: I have a fear of drowning. Fuck that episode.

This was the end of where I’d gotten with that now deactivated sideblog. I had big plans that were just hard to stick to with how many episodes the show’s been on (carefully reblogging X amount of posts per episode slowed down the watching process).

s1e4: Idk what gets chanted in Latin, but it always takes forever. Probably for cinematic effect.

s1e5: Honestly, Bloody Mary seems like something that ridiculous white people do.

s1e6: You mean to tell me that there aren’t hunters / non-hunter allies within the police force, FBI, and judicial system? Yeah, the low end stuff like credit card fraud can be on the hunters to not do, but big stuff like a shape-shifter taking someone’s form to commit murder should fall under hunter assistance to not get arrested for.

Granted, this takes out the tension of the FBI coming after the Winchesters, but it doesn’t seem like hunting is this new thing. From a world building stance, I thought there’d be some sort of hunter assistance system. Like no one else has run ins with the law and always seem to be at murder scenes???

s1e7: Tries to not nitpick about whether something has to melt to be classified as burnt because I’m not sure that silver cross would’ve gotten up to silver’s melting point or not.

s1e8: That climax of bugs attacking on the last night was a let down. Everyone lived through the night, and the bugs didn’t really seem to be trying that hard.

s1e9: Missouri is a fave. Hopefully we’ll see her again. Unless that would lead to her death, in which case I want her alive more.

s1e10: Kinda glad it was the doctor’s ghost and not one of the patients that was causing all the shit to go down. Because the history of asylums and the mistreatment / abuse / deaths of the patients supports that a bit more than the scaremongering of the ~evil, crazy patients~ coming back.

s1e11: Something about the way the Vanir was referred to just seemed off? Like, the Vanir is the name for a whole group of Norse deities. “It’s a Vanir” isn’t really helpful because the info we have about the group definitely provides names (and each one has specific details that would make a difference in identification). Like, why so vague? They’re not interchangeable.

It was also weird how easy to kill the scarecrow was. One of the most famous Vanic deities - Frey / Freyr - has this whole thing with coming back from the dead when he’s sacrificed for the harvest each year, so I just have a hard time buying how easy it was to kill the scarecrow if a Vanic god was attached to it. I got more of a landvaettir vibe tbh (land spirits weren’t necessarily named and seem to fit what the scarecrow was doing).

I, a polytheist, also squinted at how easy it was to kill a supposedly Vanic god because I don’t see why we always have to kill off Pagan deities. Is Jesus or the Christian God fair game as well, or are they conveniently going to be the deities that survive this show?
