Moodboard & Fic Pitch
Pre TLOU!Joel Miller × f!Reader
The Last Of Us

Moodboard made by me
Sweetness & Lighting: Series Synopsis
It's 1993 in central Texas, and things are as well as they could be for a single father, Joel Miller. That's if you don't include his struggling financial situation and the grueling effects of his new construction job. But now it's summer, Sarah won't be occupied in a classroom setting for some time, leaving him without proper care to watch Sarah while he works.
With his new dilemma, Joel couldn't help but vent to his little brother, Tommy, who for once offered a solution; with no other choice, he figured it was worth a shot. Hire a babysitter, but she so happens to be one of Tommy's friends who's a recent graduate. Joel worried about the cost of hiring, but Tommy insisted she was a generous spirit who would gladly help with little cost. Once she knew his situation, Tommy was right. He has never been so thankful to welcome a stranger into his home, even if he still has reservations.
Little did he know, Tommy's friend had already become quite smitten with Joel the moment she first laid eyes on him but planned to keep it to herself. She's only here to do her job and it's not like Joel would like her back. But he did. It took a bit of time but once he realized it, he fell hard. He just knew he couldn't let you go once the summer was over. Why not keep her employed longer. He could admit his feelings at some point. Right?
Tags/Warnings: Idk if I can list this as a slow burn given this probably won't be more than 20 chapters. Eventual smut, masturbation >:3 but mainly plot. Minor Social commentary. Semi-frequent 80's pop culture references (mainly music). Mild cursing. Rom-Com adjacent fic(I will try). Virgin reader (Joel will be ready😏). Single dad Joel. Scenes that depict bullying. (for both the reader and Sarah). Use of original characters. The reader is 21. Joel is 25/turns 26. Sarah is roughly around 6. Lowkey Devious Sarah/Sarah shenanigans(u know how kids are). Texas geography references. Possible holiday plotlines (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) fic timeline spans over 7 months.
Author Notes & Rambles
Lord, I have so many fic ideas that I must write 😤. I actually shared this idea with a mutual while back, so this one is a bit more personal. This will probably be the first series I write when we get to 2025. As far as I know, this won't be anything too crazy, the outline I'm working on right now ranges from 14 - 20 chapters. I'm trying to give myself some room to stay within that frame I've given myself but we'll see what happens.
As of now, I don't wanna share too much about what I have planned,, but I also wanna share everything jdjkdjs. This will be a "slow burn" in a sense, but it'll be a short series, so idk if it fits here but oh well. However, the smutting won't happen later on in the fic as I will be focusing on Joel and the reader actually becoming friends because they deserve it
I already started making a playlist for this as inspo because I can't without listening to music tbh so that's been really fun. So I can't wait for when that comes out and it will be just music from that period and songs referenced in the fic, So all 1993 and going back a bit further to give the reader insert a bit of range. There'll be some mild pop culture references like movies but mostly music, and I will try not to be excessive as I know that can be annoying in movies these days. Bubblebee
I'd like to thank all the pictures of mid-20s Pedro Pascal before I go. I wouldn't have been here without him. 😭😭😭

You know the timing for this is kinda convenient given the amount of press Pedro is getting right now. Tbh I'm totally not surprised she suggested this if this happens to be true. 😐😐😐😐
I think what upsets me the most in this situation is that people try to use this as a case of "Hollywood bias & sexism" when it is clearly not. Gina was supposedly given many to cool it with the bigoted and anti-Semitic rhetoric (along with pushing anti vaxx/mask and spread COVID misinformation during the pandemic) and understandably her contract wasn't renewed.
I do sometimes wonder if there was any real tension between her and Pascal given the fact he's openly anti conservative/bigoted. Generally opposing Gina's views but he's been quiet about her since she was dropped from the mandalorian. I honestly don't want him saying anything about her, it's just a thought since Carano insists on involving him and continues to speak of Pascal
But for once we have an unproblematic man who is being put at some kind of fault thanks to white women's tears and underline racism.

tbh i think i'm kinda over pedro pascal? like don't get me wrong, i still adore his acting and think he's a great human being and am generally a fan, but he does not have me in the chokehold that he had me in 2020-early 2023.
I will always love Pedro, but I’ve felt this way for a while (though I’ll never quite be “over” him that’s our GUY that’s our Din Djarin) and… bless his heart, I think it’s just because he’s so darn busy that he has no time for fan interaction. You barely see him doing interviews these days, and you never see him doing fan conventions. I’m glad for him, it means he’s finally getting that success he so greatly deserves, but it definitely makes it hard for the fans!

Alrighttt, went to see Gladiator II and of course everyone needs to know what my reactions is, so here is my rant! Spoilers, btw
Wanna preface this by saying that I only saw the first movie once, a few months back and mostly to go see this one (a friend really wanted to go because Pedro Pascal). Just to be clear. Ok, so overall I enjoyed the movie, though I really don't think it's better than the first one, honestly, didn't even expect it to be. Lucius, our main guy, idk why, I just couldn't care for him? Not sure if he didn't seem charismatic enough or what it is, but I just didn't develop any connection to him. Same problem with his wife dying, I mean, it was kinda clear she was going to, but I don't think her death hits nearly as hard as it did in the first movie. I think cuz there, she was very much innocent of any crime and was killed purposefully, as punishment to Maximus (so like, it wasn't his fault, but it also wasn't not his fault). Whereas here, she was a warrior (cool af) and therefore her death is kinda... just another victim of war. Nothing truly personal. Also Lucius is supposedly "filled with rage" but he doesn't seem like that to me. idk I really really don't like that they made him the son of Maximus, textually. Like, don't get me wrong, it was implied in the first one, but I honestly prefered it just like that. Not entirely sure why tho :D
Acacius, fucking Acacius, ok first of all it's Pedro Pascal, what do you want me to say? I really like that he also got parallels with Maximus; general, doesn't want to fight, loves Lucilla. I think that was a great choice. I kinda did not like the choice of having Lucius not kill him, not because I think he should have, just would have prefered to have them interact at least once so that he would take longer to change his mind.
The emperors were fun and though their combined charisma did not reach Commodus' level, I feel, they came pretty close tbh. I liked the combat, mostly the personal hand-to-hand though, didn't really like the opening battle. Again, not sure why, just felt like they did it because the first one opened with a battle so the second one must too (and to kill Lucius' wife ofc). Visually pretty, idk, truly not an expert :D Though some of the CGI (mostly the monkeys) was dreadful.
...I thought "smash" about half the characters... but that's probably just my brain being faulty xD (no but I'm sorry, Ravi! Arishat! Acacius, of course!!!! and Geta (i think was the name??) honestly even, and others :D)
But again, overall I enjoyed it and can recommend. Was fun!

lulu have you fallen into the emperor geta hole yet or...??
because I'll be honest at first I was like "ancient Rome? pfft 🙄🙄🙄"
but then idk... one well made edit on my tiktok fyp and some gifsets later and suddenly I don't care about lead poisoning
I think it's the gold accents and the eyeliner that does it for me tbh. like I think if I fucked him I could fix him 🤷♀️ creating a butterfly effect surrounding the downfall of the Roman empire that is so severe it alters the space time continuum. but also I feel like that's just what good pussy does
I’m going to be vulnerable and honest when I tell you that I’m generally only attracted to JQ based on an Eddie scale 😬😅 it was fun to see him in another role tho and I totally understand the attraction!!! ur valid for that!!
I did however watch for Pedro Pascal. and his tree trunk thighs. I would absolutely risk the Roman-era STI for a piece of that lmao

In regards to you asking how dark you can get, that's the whole point of fics imo! Let your imagination run wild and dark!!! Idk if you're a Pedro pascal fan, but some of the things his fans write are crazy (in a good way) and I wish more Rafe/Drew writers would explore more intense themes. I think this author deactivated their blog but they still have ao3 for registered users so if you have an account, I recommend reading "worse than death" by atticrissfinch. It's very fucked and dark, but soooooo good. Obviously some people will be uncomfortable with things deeper than dub-con, but they can simply not read your work. Whatever you choose to write, I'll be supporting and loving it ❤️
i’ve been in a lot of fandoms and i’ve generally stuck to darker reading/writing throughout — especially cause i’ve always had a fascination with antagonists. which is why i was so surprised coming into this fandom at the lack of dark content especially considering how in literal canon rafe is at surface level simply a bad person with almost no redeeming qualities (or at least much more in earlier seasons).
i don’t have many inhibitions tbh i just wouldn’t want to write knowing it won’t resonate with anyone at all. even though i honestly think a fair portion of people do see and want to explore that darker side but not many have torn through and when reflecting on the criticism they get scared or feel it’s not worth it.
i’m not attracted to pedro unfortunately 😞 but i will check it out for u cause i always loveee well written dark content & it is often very difficult to find with how picky i am !

See, personally, I can’t even fathom dating anyone that much older than me because that’s my parent’s age and thinking of dating someone like my mom or dad is giving me a headache. It’s bad enough I have to explain to my parents what I do at work and how some technology works, I can’t think of doing that with a future partner
Tbh a relationship like that would only work if it was purely physical or not serious because most of those dilfs are hot to look at but personality wise, that's still a 50 year old man with the mindset of a different generation. I feel like the only dilf I could date personality wise and all, is Pedro Pascal 😭 But then again, what would happen when he'd turn 60/70 etc? It just wouldn't work.
Also I had this discussion with a friend of mine that oh if my dilf celebrity crush was to hit on me, obviously I'd fucking melt and beg on my knees but that's me, a 23 year old, it's normal for me to look at someone older and find them hot but why the fuck is a man two decades older than me who was in his 20s when I was born hitting on me? Why can't he get a woman his age? Why is he interested in someone who is barely an adult, in a different generation with probably way less experience and parents who would be his classmates? Yk what I mean?

hello everyone! i am not able to do a lot of replies for the next few hours but i do have some wants/needs as far as plots go for my muses. so please like this post if you’re interested in any pairings/plots under the cut and i’ll message you and we can plot and eventually get some starters out.
rose (natalia dyer) needs to be super duper corrupted, tbh. whether it be an older person or just someone her age that turns her into like, a nymphomaniac or even a murder or something wild. i want to write her sm but it should be something dark or depraved.
mckenna (grace van patten), scout (madelaine petsch) & tatum (minka kella) wants to dom some guy (strap or not lmao). that’s it.
ghostface plots. i have a few muses i can throw into it! harvey (jon bernthal) or max (jacob elordi) but i’d also be down for the opposite and throw one of my girls at them.
i miss using crosby (oliver jackson cohen) so maybe a corrupt super hero or another villain trying to take over and they eventually become a power couple? orrr we could have a thing where he sort of takes on an apprentice and he has a soft spot for her? or like, a little silly hero who is getting fucked up by other villains and he randomly has a heart, saves her, and begrudgingly becomes a good guy!
i have sooo many h*rry p*tter muses! pls write some shit with them.
give my pretty boys some milfs. specifically mikey (paul mescal), walter (jeremy allen white), gunner (kj apa), ferg (logan lerman) & bear (mason gooding).
age gaps in general. i will give you my milfs for anyone.
gimme a priest who ends up fucking one of my innocent gals.
let’s do a multi muse plot except its your muse dating all 3 of the van cortlant sisters (mia healey, samara weaving, grace van patten) with or without knowing.
a plot where one of our muses is a ghost who can walk and be “there” in the house that they were killed/died in, but they can’t leave it. so the live muse finds themselves a recluse, trying to get to know the ghost, falling in love w them, and doing fucking scary magic to potentially make them come alive again. evil undertones welcome, or just campy ghost stuff.
dads fucking the babysitter, full stop.
give jackson (chris evans) or dax (oscar isaac) or chester (pedro pascal) or harvey (jon bernthal) threesome threads w pretty girls/women.

That constant fancast with Pedro Pascal and Oscar Isaac with El Dorado got me thinking of a potential remake idea: they’re modern-day Latinos who time-travel back to colonization era while escaping capture like the original, end up in El Dorado, reconnect with their forgotten Indigenous roots and do in fact end up as a couple. Also the main villain is Cortez, not Tzekel Kan, who may stir initial conflict because of his overzealous personality but gets over his issues and becomes part of the country AND comes out as aroace (because with all the queer headcanons involving Tulio, Chel and Miguel I always felt like he was being left out and I always saw him like that anyway).
The fancast doesn’t have to involve either Pascal or Isaac, it’s just their heritage that got it clicking.
Unrelated but tumblr assigned your ask MY icon instead of the usual anon icon in my notes for some reason & I got really confused lol

And oh yeah ugh I hated that fancast. I feel like they only picked those two actors too because they are literally some of the ONLY Latino actors they know & it's because they're both from Star Wars. Also I generally think it'd be a bad look with iffy implicatioms to cast them as Spaniards in a White savior movie regarding the rest of the plot as well lol
And tbh I like his zeal, I think Tzekel-Kan was cool. I always thought he was fascinating as a kid. It's weird because the movie is both demonizing Mesoamerican culture & practices as bad, but also trying to imply that Tzekel-Kan is the only one who fully participates in it and thats what makes him bad. It's really stupid. In real life, Tzekel-Kan would be a very respected person and the Chief himself also would've worked with him in leasing religious events & ceremonies.
And anyway, I actually really like the time travel concept in particular, time travel is fun :) I've attempted rewrites myself, and yeah its hard to come up with something without completely changing it lol
#thered obvi have to be MORE tweaks like changing El Dorado's location since that place is actually meant to be set in SOUTH America#OR theyd have to move cultures from the Maya people to the Muisca people#also giving them some actual Maya names#anonymous#aroace Tzekel Kan sounds fun too

Total non sequitur of a question but what do you think of the DCEU?
I like the non sequitur! I hope y'all don't feel like you can only send me asks about the Kverse lol (though of course I'm always happy to answer those!)
I'll give you a very brief review of each:
-Man of Steel: I enjoyed it for the most part. I don't really gel with all the Jesus-y imagery, the bizarre choices with Jonathan, or the incredible amounts of collateral damage (you can't avoid everything but Superman would definitely try to limit it), but I kinda dig the look of all the Kryptonian stuff, I like Henry Cavill's more brooding Superman, and Zod was a cool antagonist.
-Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice: wayyy too many things going on. I can't McFucking believe they made Jimmy Olsen a CIA plant and killed him off immediately. I don't completely hate that version of Lex Luthor but he gets grating pretty quickly. The Knightmare stuff is pretty eyeroll worthy IMO (especially once they double down on it later). The titular duel is pretty good, but very short, and leads into some of the worst stuff in the movie. Doomsday sucks!
-Suicide Squad: aside from some cool freaky stuff with Enchantress, and Viola Davis and Margot Robbie being great casting choices, this one's kinda nothing to me. Rick Flagg, Capt. Boomerang and Deadshot are various flavors of decent to good. Tried to do a Guardians of the Galaxy-y thing and failed miserably. Top contender for worst Joker adaptation of all time.
-Wonder Woman: Great, if very simple plot-wise. The Ares stuff at the end really lets the rest of the movie down, but most of the movie's very cool and fun. I still get chills from the no man's land scene! Chris Pine's Steve Trevor is pretty damn good (but Chris Pine is just good in general)
-Justice League (Whedon's version): I actually like the choice to have a more colorful look for a Justice League movie, but yeah, not good. To say nothing of the behind the scenes drama, they tried to do what the MCU did with the Avengers with half the build-up. Doesn't feel earned at all. Some good action and character interactions, but that's about it.
-Aquaman: Pretty fun, I really appreciate the commitment to being just kinda bonkers, from the more comic-accurate looks to the ginormous underwater battle. I don't really love Momoa's Aquaman but I didn't mind him too much on his own.
-Shazam!: One of my favorites in the DCEU. Doesn't overcomplicate itself, doesn't exhaust itself with references to other stuff, just a good story about found families with real heart, some good humor, and a decent villain.
-Birds of Prey: Other than the bizarre choice to give Cassandra Cain's name to a character that couldn't be more different, I fucking love this one. Very fun, great action, and it reminded me I have a crush on Mary Elizabeth Winstead lol
-Wonder Woman 1984: Sucks. I hate to say it, I went in thinking I'd really enjoy it but it was genuinely painful to watch for the most part. Not even the power of Pedro Pascal and Chris Pine combined could save this one.
-Zack Snyder's Justice League: Definitely an improvement overall compared to the theatrical release, but dear lord it did not need to be 4 hours long. Flash's turn-back-the-clock gambit was super cool. Legit kinda ruined by the Joker monologue in the Knightmare, lol.
-The Suicide Squad: Didn't watch it! I saw how bloody and murder-happy it'd be and just shrugged and moved on. I'm sure it's as good as people say, but I'd have to be in a very particular mood to wanna watch it, tbh.
-Black Adam: Enjoyed it quite a bit, though the presence of the JSA in the modern day with very little explanation is a bit jarring. The Rock's Black Adam is a bit too heroic and personable for my tastes but brutal enough that I'm okay with it. Kinda loved Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate (except for the suit design, I hated it)
-Shazam! Fury of the Gods: Haven't watched it yet, but I don't hear great things about it, so not super enthused about it. Probably will watch it eventually.
-The Flash: I categorically refused to watch this one because 1) I got spoiled on what happens to Supergirl and y'all know I love Kara so it pissed me off, and 2) the CGI nostalgia fest felt extremely cynical and cash-grab-y to me. Not particularly interested in watching this one, but maybe someday.
-Blue Beetle: Gods, I really wanted to watch this one in theaters. It was in my town for all of two days and I couldn't go :( I plan on watching this one soon-ish - even if it's really bad I'll probably enjoy it, I'm a Jaime simp haha :P
-Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom: Genuinely didn't know this one was coming out. Also not particularly interested in watching it, but also not against it, so I'll probably end up putting it on some really boring weekend hahaha.

hey, i was just wondering what type of edits/art are you okay to be tagged in?
hi anon! thank you for asking! tbh i've been thinking about changing my tracked tag to #useriselin just bc i feel like #userparamore might be a little constricting. i'm not just a paramore blog i'm more of a multifandom blog with a preference for bandom/music.
but i'm okay with being tagged in most lyrics edits/collages/art journals, general music and bandom (not a panic or a taylor swift fan tho), shows and movies like got/hotd, succession, marvel/spider-man, tlou & pedro pascal.
and if you're in doubt just have a quick look through my blog <3
#i think i'm just gonna pin this tbh#look at this as my official announcement that i'm changing my tracked tag lmao#i'll still check userparamore tho#ask#anon

ezrah. • bodyclaim. • headcanons. • isms.
BASIC INFO
full name — Ezrah Ryder age — ninety-four (looks 40ish) gender — cis male, (he/ him/ his pronouns) orientation — homosexual occupation — sheriff species — fairy (fire magic) clothing style — usually his uniform, though if not ...plain t's and jeans tbh. comfy and well, lame.
PHYSICAL INFO
face claim — Pedro Pascal hair — brown / eyes — brown height — five foot & eleven inches build — kinda like a T, broad af shoulders, semi-muscled torso, slutty waist (it be thin ok), everything else is yum scars — a faint one across the bridge of his nose, underneath his right eye, bullet wound scar on his thigh tattoos — when he was a sixteen, his friends talked him into getting an elvish tattoo inspired by the lord of the rings done behind his ear... so there's that. piercings — ears special characteristics — generally quiet, not very talktative, comes off a little distracted sometimes (and he often is), will grump without reason, some dare calling him grumpy, but he will definitely shut them down (he is tho) sexual preference— bottom sub (he thinks he's a switch but he's really not)
PERSONALITY
alignment — lawful good positive traits — protective, caring, calm, strong-willed negative traits — indecisive, short-tempered, stubborn, grumpy hobbies — trekking, camping, survival challenges, work.. horse riding
MEDICAL INFO
mental — ptsd physical — he got shot in the leg and the bullet got stuck very very close to the kneecap. when they tried to remove it, they did quite some damage, so he has a subtle limp on him and in cold weather, it throbs quite a bit phobias — claustrophobia, pisantrophia eyesight — 14/20 dominant hand — left hand drug use — nop alcohol use — sometimes diet — healthy, but balanced. like, he will sin every now and then, or drink etc.
BACKGROUND
birthplace — austin, TX parents — n/a siblings — n/a education — high school drop-out notable skills — street cred, packs mean punches, could be watching a pack of puppies and still look grumpy
BIO
Ezrah never met his parents. He had no name, no pictures - photographs or hints as to who they were, other than that at least one of them must've not been human, although he wouldn't find out about that until much, much later. He also didn't know why he hadn't been allowed to grow up in the care of those who supposedly unconditionally loved him and for the longest time he wondered, but at some point in time ... he just stopped. Sure, that little nagging voice in the back of his mind never quite went away, but ... he learned to live with it and ignore it most of the time.
Back when Ezrah was born, life ... was different. Orphanages were less optimized than they are now and the system - believe it or not, was even worse. Adoption never was part of the plan for him. He grew up among dozens like him - not Fairies, but orphans. They were all trying to survive, really, survival of the fittest. Fifty little boys cramped into a big, rented hall - voila. Orphanage.
The caretakers were overwhelmed, or simply didn't care. Or maybe they had their own issues and worries that kept them up at night and they didn't have the capability to care for these wild little human beings in their care. So, the wildlings care for each other, or for themselves - or for nobody at all. Ezrah himself just wanted to make it out alive. Not being even close to the top 10 in strength or skill, he had to fight twice as hard to keep what he had.
Which wasn't much, really.
But it was all he had, and then there was the food. They spent the days scouting the streets, looking for where to strike - where to acquire even just the smallest bit of food. Every piece mattered, but never bring it back to home. Ezrah was ... of decent height, but ... not exactly built to fight. A twig in the wind compared to a bunch of the other kids there, but regardless of that - disadvantage or not, he made due with stubbornness and resilience.
Bruises, black eyes, purple cheeks ... he always took down at least two of the enemy when he went, so he called that a win. And he'd managed to hold onto his treasures still. In fact, he kept them all until the day he escaped that hellhole. Street cred got you far even then and word got around that Ezrah could hold his own in the ring. Not an actual ring, but a proverbial one. Until then.
Fifteen and unsure what to do with this newfound freedom, he let himself be talked into jumping in the ring of a local gym to prove what he could do. It was far from good, but he had potential - they said. And he was young, too. A perfect little piece of clay. With a big mouth, though they got that stuffed far too soon.
The deal came with a roof over his head, regular meals and a lot of training. It wasn't like Ezrah had job offers lined up for him and the gym sounded better than to curl up on some bench in the park, so he agreed. Turned out he was a great study, so he picked up the basics quick and even the more advanced techniques before his first fight, which.. still was bit of a mess. Nerves.
But Ezrah wouldn't be where he was if he gave up after a defeat, would he? So he got up. Again and again. A few months later, everything was different. He was good at this.Raw violence.
Twenty years later, it was becoming a little too obvious he was aging ... much slower. He was nearing his 40s and still looked like he just hit puberty, so ... he packed the few things he owned and dipped. He'd saved most of his earnings, so ... sky's the limit, right? He got himself a bus ticket to LA and poked his head into the fighting scene there. To avoid the age talk again, he .. had to start fresh - all the way down in the food chain, but it was fine. He didn't mind.
Smart as he could be sometimes, he earned himself another ten years in safe solitude, only he wouldn't get to spend that money, because right on payday, the gym got robbed - some were shot, some not, but it changed something in Ezrah. Life .. had almost been a dream for so long and sure, yes - the pain had stung, but.. it'd almost been too good to be true. He was back on the ground now, fully aware and striving to change up his game.
Due to his looks, he was the perfect candidate for the next step. Law enforcement. LAPD - LA's finest. Stupid-ass motto, but it was what it was. A few years at the academy and Ezrah was a p1. His ... skills from before sure made him every criminal's nightmare and he .. did okay, he felt. Rookie to P3 in 18 months.
He found routine and satisfaction in his work, but ... LA never quite... felt like him to him and honestly, he often wondered where his roots were. The first decade or two he .. ignored it, again, but sooner or later he just couldn't anymore. Research on himself, he'd get in trouble if that got out, but it wouldn't - he was good at what he did.
That was how he found out about the Chateau. And he set out to find it pretty much almost instantly. Bags packed and eager to go. Ten years ago today, Ezrah moved into the Chateau in Alexandria, but soon found his own place and resumed his work at the police station, but ... he never quite stopped looking for hints about his family.

Pt. 2 - Ok but anyways, Celeste Yim is like my absolute favorite writer, I think so much of what they do is brilliant. Bowen Yang might be my favorite cast member ever, he’s got such a spark that feels kind of… glamorous? Also this might sound wishy washy but it does feel awesome watching 10 years later and seeing how much progress has been made in terms of diversity. Obviously there can always be progress made but seriously, we used to have Nasim Pedrad and Fred Armisen playing every POC under the sun and the nuance just wasn’t there. Now there not only are there are multiple POC and LGBTQ members on the cast but the writing staff is more diverse and imo that really shows. There are sketches that you can tell are queer or tapped into a specific culture (I’m Latina myself was just dyingggg over Pedro pascal’s protective mother sketch and the Spanish class sketch with Ana de armas and Karol G. May have claimed Marcello as my son, nbd lol). And Molly Kearney playing men and women characters in different sketches is so fucking rad.
Chloe Fineman reminds me of Abbey Elliott if Abbey Elliott took risks and I appreciate that even though she gets featured a lot play she can play the straight man really well so it doesn’t feel too over saturated (I think they made this mistake with Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon during their respective heydays).
I’m lowkey fascinated with PDD as writers vs performers (and as people in general tbh but that’s a whole other ball of wax lol). I think they write GREAT sketches and I also LOVE their digital shorts but I think both should be kept separate… I hope they don’t become cast members. I don’t think combining the two would work.
It’s also so funny to me to see who people fangirl over. I think Andrew Dismukes is super funny and I love his writing (Toyota dealership ruled) but I am lowkey shocked he has such a following lol. And I totally agree with you, Michael Longfellow needs to be an update host. He’s got fucking awesome deadpan delivery and a subtle sardonic mischievousness to him that combined with those good looks I could see him becoming a new niche heartthrob.
I completely agree with you on Chloe and PDD. I absolutely love the rookies, especially Michael and Marcello have been standouts for me. I’m LOVING Ego, Sarah and JAJ this season + Rosebud Baker as a writer. I’ve always loved Celeste and Bowen, like Celeste is such a solid writer and Bowen as a performer shines every sketch he’s in but I’m not really into their sketches this season. I usually like the stuff that are coming from this pairing but honestly not so much in s48.
The thing about Andrew, we love him so much because he’s like TLI, Tim Robinson, Kyle Mooney and Will Forte combined in one person. Completely unhinged. He has a writer’s brain and type of sense of humor that no one really has (which is I think why he can’t vibe with current writers). This season should’ve been his breakout season… and yet… remains incredibly underrated.

I feel like when reading I am good at visualising the areas and stuff like that it just isn't populated with people who have faces
#i dont really visualise faces unless it is being described in that moment#sometimes i visilise eyes or hair or clothes#or just like the general appearance#but it is like unique parts on a non existence face#that post from a few months ago keeps making me aware of what i am seeing#anywayd reading murderbot atm and the only description of its face is that it is common or somthigt#so i am imagining it looking like a younger version of that guy who sings santa buddy#and it is weird#kinda a bit like pedro pascal and that santa buddy guy tbh#just the brown hair brown eyes#oh no wait i think it is someone who was on holby city#anyway it is weird#the one character where it is ok to not have a face asigned and i have asigned it a face
