oh MAN this is a tough one!!

generally I've always liked the idea that ingo has some bad experiences with hisuian zoroarks in that like. maybe one was illusion'd as a copy of ingo just to fuck with him and ingo was. really freaked out by it. so word spread among the zoroarks that yo hey there's this one guy who's really fun to terrorize and here's a fun trick that ALWAYS works

so generally ingo's pokemon are more used to dealing with Pokemon disguised as humans than most and MIGHT actually figure rei out eventually, or maybe they just are super wary about them

and in return rei and their Pokemon would be a bit iffy about them too until both sides realize that neither are threats to the other and they both are in a similar situation of having no idea what the hell is happening
