Levi Ackerman x Reader

The war. The Battle of Heaven and Earth. It’s finally over. I see Jean and Connie with tears in their eyes, it isn’t hard to tell who they’re seeing. I see Mikasa with the head of Eren Yeager in her hands as the cries of Armin fill the wasteland that we’re in. Everyone is injured, some more than others, which brings me to look around for Levi. Levi and I have always shared some form of unspoken bond, he’s someone I love dearly although i’ve never said it. He’s very closed off but it isn’t hard to tell that Levi Ackerman cares for his comrades and friends deeply. I see Levi to my right and as it’s too much of a hassle to stand up, I slowly make my way over to him with a crawl as he isn’t too far away. Levi is leaning against a rock staring at all of the fallen comrades who are saluting us, i see them too. As I sit next to him I put my hand over my heart to match Levi’s as I stare at those who have given their lives for the sake of humanity. Hange, Petra, Erwin, and everyone else. I know we’ve done the right thing when I see them. I look over to Levi as I see a single tear drop from his eye. When it seems he’s finally come back to reality I slowly reach out my hand to wipe the tear away which causes him to look at me. Levi’s never been one to play into any affection, but this time, he leans into my hand as we sit in silence.

I break the silence as I say “We did the right thing Levi…all of our fallen comrades, they are so proud of us, so proud of you. Humanity’s strongest soldier.” He looks at me and in a low voice he says “I know.” Levi may not be a man of many words but I always seem to know whats on his mind. He has lost everyone in his life but I need him to know that I will be here for him. “Levi I know how many people you’ve lost but I want you to know that I will always be here for you, with you.” I look over to him and see that same teary eyed look. He doesn’t say anything. He simply grabs my hand as he leans his head against my shoulder. I lift his hand to my face and plant a kiss to it. To show him i’m here and that I care. To show him I love him. We sit there for a while until we see Onyankopon heading towards us. He helps me get Levi up and walk with him to the others. We have to rest and we have to rebuild.

Luckily we were able to save some parts of the world. There are still towns and buildings left as well as people who are ready and willing to make our Earth a better place. Everyone has their role to play. Myself and a lot of other people I don’t know are baking and cooking for the people around us. Sasha would have loved the pies i’ve made. I see Gabi and Falco planting a tree as they look at each other so lovingly. It’s refreshing to see happiness in such a cruel place. Levi is handing out foods and treats to kids and people of all kinds. Something tells me that he’ll never be the same. Not just because of his injuries, but because of the people he’s lost. He sits in a wheelchair we managed to find in the little bit of the world there was left. I’ve been pretty defeated myself. A couple of broken ribs along with bruises and cuts everywhere. But my injuries are no where near as bad as Levi’s so I choose to help him instead of worrying about my own physical health. Levi, myself, and Onyankopon occupy a space together. A home with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Gabi and Falco have their families to go back to, but they might as well be considered living with us as well because of their insistence to take care of Levi. After our duties I take Levi home where Gabi and Falco are already staying at. Yeah they basically live here. They offer to clean up a bit while I take Levi to his room. Nor Levi or myself have said much on our way home. Neither of us speaking until now. “Levi I know you probably don’t want me to, but I need to help you bathe.” He doesn’t speak, he simply rolls his way toward the bathroom and closes the door. I sigh, there’s no way he can do it on his own. But that’s Levi, so independent and caring. I walk over to the bathroom door and knock “Levi can I come in?” He doesn’t answer so I slowly open the door. I see Levi propping himself against the counter while standing on his good leg. His shirt is mostly off but still on one arm. I softly grab the hem of his shirt as I pull it the rest of the way. He finally looks into my eyes and as I stare back I can see the conflict he’s having with himself. “Levi I’m not going to judge you, I just want to help. It doesn’t matter that you aren’t the same Levi you used to be, I will always love you the same.” After a few seconds of silence Levi says “You love me?” “Of course I love you Levi, I think I always have.” He turns so hes leaning his back against the counter while I’m holding his arm. I then feel a tight embrace as he hugs me, and I hug him back. He finally lets me into his heart after all this time and i’ve never been happier than this moment. Knowing that Levi can finally see the love someone has for him, to finally see that people do care about him. We stay there for a few minutes until he finally gives me consent to help him take a much needed bath. I get him unclothed and help him into the bath, washing his hair and his body. The moment so intimate with him feeling my love with every action I take while caring for him. Once he’s clean I help him out of the bath and help him dry off and change clothing. Once I get him to bed I go to the bathroom to take a quick shower of my own. After i’ve showered and changed I go back to check on Levi and I see that he’s sitting up in bed with a book in his hand. I tell him goodnight and as I turn to go to my room he says “Y/N would you um…like to stay in here tonight?” His voice is low, almost pleading. I look into his eyes and who am I to deny him? “Of course Levi.” I walk to the unoccupied side of his bed and Levi marks his spot in his book as he sets it on the night stand to his right. He turns off the lamp next to him as we both get comfortable in bed. He pulls me close to him and as we lay together for a while I can finally feel sleep overtaking my body. Right before I fall asleep I hear Levi whisper “I love you too..”

Smile Through The Pain

Levi Ackerman X Reader

Reader and Hange find Levi after he is injured by a thunderspear. Reader has time to reflect on the past when times were simpler, but some things stay the same.

The weight of the war is starting to take a toll on everyone. As I walk with Hange and a group Yeagerists we see the smoke from a nearby explosion. It almost seemed like a thunderspear. Hange points out the commotion and we agree to make our way towards it. The only thing on my mind is Levi.

As we approach the scene lo and behold, there’s Levi..my Levi. Hange and I rush to his side as the rain pours down on us. He looks so hurt I almost think he isn’t alive. “Levi…” I whisper, he looks at us with the most pained expression i’ve ever seen on the man. Of course Floch has to open his big mouth “Is that Captain Levi? I don’t know what happened, but we’re lucky that it did; the biggest threat we’ve faced is lying in a bloody heap.” Another Yeagerist speaks up as he points a gun toward the injured Levi in my arms. “Is he dead? We should put one in his head just in case.” As i’m in too much shock to speak, Hange speaks up “There’s no need, he was caught in a thunderspear explosion at point blank range. It shredded his guts, killed him instantly from what I can tell…” With tears in my eyes I look at the others as Floch says “Then give him to me, I wanna check his pulse for myself so hand him over.” My instincts scream at me to cradle Levi, run my hand through his hair and tell him it will be okay. But now that i’ve caught onto whatever Hange is planning, I really need to sell his death. I let tears fall from my eyes as I look between Levi and the others. Hange is frozen in place as everyone else when we hear someone scream Flochs name. “Floch!” To our left is the steam of a titan and as the steam sucks into the titan body, the rain…clears up? With the sun shining Hange explains that it wasn’t dead and suddenly, none other than Zeke Yeager himself rises from the titans form. While everyone is stunned I look to Hange and then at the flowing river below us, she nods her head, so we both work together to grab Levi and swim. We hear the others yelling for us but we just keep going until we get to safety.

I sit here gently wrapping and stitching Levi’s wounds as Hange and I managed the supplies to do so. “Y/N he’ll be okay..it’s Levi we’re talking about.” Although Hange’s words were to console me I can still see the doubt in her eyes. Hange’s never been one to hide her emotions, but ever since she became commander she’s been duller than ever. Like most of us have in this war. “I know Hange, but i’ll always worry.” Hange gravs my hand, “I know but we’ll figure it out, for now I need to make sure the last of our pursuers are taken care of. Keep an eye on him and the surroundings.” “I will Hange, be safe.” And with that Hange grabs her rifle and heads for the outskirts of the woods we’re in. With a shaky breath I sigh and turn to Levi. I sit there examining his features. “If we hadn’t of found you I don’t think you would be alive..I don’t know what I would do if that were the case.” I’m talking to Levi, but more to myself as he’s passed out. I look away and put my head down, “I can’t live in a world without you in it Levi, there would be no point in living. Maybe we should just stay out here in the sticks, or find somewhere else to stay. Either way I just hope I get to see you smile again.”

The first time I saw Levi smile was about four years ago. He and I sat out on a balcony perched behind his office desk; I had found him sipping tea and just looking beyond the buildings. Looking at the stars. I walked behind him and he turned his head as he sensed my presence. We both stared at the sky for a while before he spoke up. “Looking at the stars reminds me of when I first joined the scout regiment..” I looked at him, listening to his words. “My two friends, family, had come to join me on the balcony the night before our first mission. They had asked me to trust them and believe in them, and although I was weary I couldn’t help but cave in when I saw the smiles on their faces and the hope in their eyes. They were excited.” He paused to take a deep breath before continuing. “I took off on my own during the mission while I left them with some other scouts. When I returned all that was left of them…” He looked down as he fought the tears spilling from his eyes. “Levi..you don’t have to continue if you’re uncomfortable.” He wipes his eyes quickly and says “They were gone, devoured by a titan. I slaughtered the titan that had killed them and dedicated my life to bringing down the very things that destroyed me. But the guilt I’ve felt never goes away, that’s why I always tell people to make the decision they’ll regret the least.” While not putting faith in your comrades may hurt their feelings, sometimes it’s the right thing to do. This reminded of me of when Levi’s squad was wiped out. When Eren was told to make a decision he wouldn’t regret. I understand what that meant now. Remembering Levi’s words regarding that incident I repeated them to him. “Levi there was no way you could have predicted the outcome of either decision. I just..you shouldn’t carry so much weight on your shoulders Levi, I know your family is so so proud of you.” Levi turns to look at me with tears in his eyes as I reach a hand out to cup his face. “Levi..” I give him a small smile with tears in my own eyes as well. That night three firsts happened. I saw Levi cry, Levi and I kissed under the stars, and I had finally made him smile.

Suddenly while I was lost in thought I received a message from Eren regarding the rumbling..is he really going to wipe out the planet!? As i jolted out of my trance I see Levi do the same. “Levi! Lay back down you need to rest. What happened!?” “I made a stupid mistake. I threatened Zeke with a thunderspear to his neck, but I didn’t think he’d risk his own life just to kill me.” “Levi that’s not your fault, you didn’t know. I’m just glad you’re still here.” “Y/N..thank you, for saving me. I heard what you said and I just…I couldn’t live in this life or any other life without you either.” I look at Levi with tears in my eyes and say “I love you Levi, and I would kiss you if you weren’t all bandaged up right now.” He grabs my hand and brings it to his mouth as if he were to kiss it. Although, he can’t the gesture still makes my heart swell. The moment is interrupted by a frantic Hange running to us. “That’s the last of them! We can’t let Eren destroy the entire world!!! Is he really going to, did you hear that too!?” Levi speaks before I can, sitting up even though I just had him laid back down. “Yes Hange, and is that old cart for me?” We look back at the wooden cart we found. “You know me Levi, we can’t stay out of the fight.” That he does. I say “Okay it’s getting nightfall, we need to rest here for the night I should keep watch.” Levi as stubborn as ever insists on keeping watch, but he knows as well as I that he is in no shape to do so. “Hange and Levi rest up, Hange i’ll wake you when it’s your turn to keep watch.” Hange agrees and goes to settle in her spot. As the stars begin to cover the sky Levi pulls me down to lay next to him for a moment. We look at the sky and just like that first night watching the stars, through all his pain and suffering I know he has a smile on his face. Even though I can’t see it.
