yourinstagram a few days ago i had the pleasure to sit in front of ＠thesecretfangirl for the most comfortable and easy interview thats ever been done (not that ive been interviewed more than three times, but you get what i mean) (i hope). it was nerve-wracking to take this step and talk about some of those things, but im glad i did so. as someone who loves to tell stories, it hasnt been easy to see other people trying to tell mine so carelessly and disrespectfully. for days, ive been torn between saying something or shutting my mouth. ive been also sad. confused. angry. ive argued. ive cried. ive rolled my eyes. ive asked for advice. ive taken some time to myself to think. and even after all that, i still dont know what the best thing to do would be, but what i know is that i have never — EVER — told a story without consent. ive never talked about a person without making sure i wouldnt twist the facts, or that i wouldnt hurt their feelings by adding my own perspective as a storyteller. and yet the things that have been told about me werent told with my consent. truths and lies were intentionally intertwined without worry about what the consequences could be. and trust was broken in order to make temporary profit over something that was nothing but cheap gossip. so, in the end, i decided i wouldnt correct the narrative, because i dont want THAT to be my story. i want my story to be the one i decide to share about myself. which is why i said yes and sat down for a chat with such a lovely, fun and respectful girl. the episode is available on spotify. i hope you enjoy it (and that i didnt embarrass myself) <3

Well, I think Tim said that he'd like Anirudh to come back sometime in season 8. Although, from the little things Anirudh has subtly hinted at, he could have been back already- they just haven't asked him (this is speculation, don't @ me). I'm not sure why they followed Lou in the first place, honestly, but I feel like unfollowing would be more of a headache than it's worth so they just don't bother with it.

as what the title says, cpn things that have been living in my head rent-free for the past days/ weeks. i just need a place to write them down and let them shine on their own ✨

• The one thing that inspired me to make this post, a bit about WYB’s side account. It’s not a secret that he has one, probably even multiples but for some reason this one got leaked. especially back in 2019 when his phone number got leaked and some people allegedly verified that this same number was used to register the account. they noticed it followed a couple of motorcycle related accounts, bobo’s true love at the time lol and well the most juicy thing here is that he was visiting the bjyx supertopic.

Then by the end of 2019, it gained followers. WYB might have noticed that he was somehow discovered so the account cleared all it’s watch list and never moved again. Everything is gone. That freakin moon profile picture does not help at all cause we all know his fondness for it and how it’s one of the fandom’s symbolism. The way it was created on 3/14 is also very sus.

We have all CPN’d that he visited the ST and why not tbh. Even if you don’t believe in BJYX, i think you can say that he has visited it and at the very least knows of it’s existence. I wonder what he saw tho. LOL. I would love to get more information on this account’s watch list and it’s just so funny to have some confirmation about one of his side accounts.

no i’m lying, there is another alleged side account from 2018. A weifen gave the tip ( allegedly lol i’m gonna use this word a lot ). It is also cleared but people did capture that he kept an eye out on XZ and XZS, and also liked a motorcycle video that was not really popular. So maybe someone who knows about the moto world would recognize. I just noticed the times both accounts were created. I don’t think WYB has the time to maintain his side accounts anymore with how busy he is but i imagine this gremlin having all the accounts and just looking at everything out there.

• I have always loved personal stories from turtles and while I am wary of some, there are ones that particularly make me soft. this one for example:

My uncle is the kind of staff who works with the crew, he is ten years into the circle. I usually ask him about gossip in the circle. This year (2019 ) I carefully asked Bojun Yixiao if it was real. Uncle said he didn't know them that well, but he knew that the relationship between the two is very good. It is said that WYB & XZ are modest and polite. They have no personality problem and have always been real and not fancy.

He also said (emphasis!) he will help me get Xiao Zhan’s autographed photo in October. The time was right to take advantage of the work appointment, and after the end of XZ’s work, he signed one, my uncle said that “my niece likes you two very much”. Xiao Zhan raised his head in a daze, and said, “huh” My Uncle was about to explain, Xiao Zhan laughed a bit and said, "Is it Wang Yibo?" Uncle also laughed.

What gets me in this is how XZ is confused then it immediately clicks for him — is it WYB? ☺️ I mean, granted that 2019 was such a big year for them as a pair and who could someone be referring to when talking about “you two..” This exchange ( true or not ) lives in my head rent free. and the fact that people in the industry have nothing to say but good things about them really says a lot.

• The COVID test schedules that were leaked actually showed it was the same date and time. down to the second 02:23:38. I know this is bad, people shouldn’t actively seek out things like this but my brain won’t let this piece of information go. 💀💀💀

• WYB’s “Changsha” residence when he was still actively working in TTXS was provided by Hunan TV network. It’s not his, it is located very close to the station to make it easier for him. Other staff also stayed in that same area. The candy is, XZ allegedly sends things to that address.

• This video and fake rumor that is going around recently. People are speculating that WYB’s reaction in this routine was because of something that happened and that the dancers are actually teasing him. The rumor is XZ visited the set of SDC and he was just lounging, WYB was there and was about to kiss him but some dancers saw them, and our boys ended up being embarrassed.

you can definitely give a more plausible explanation of why he reacted like this but that’s not the point of this whole post. it’s the cpn that could be connected to it. and i mean if had someone like XZ, the love of my life just lounging, looking all gorgeous — how can you blame WYB for wanting to kiss him 🥺

• I’m not really a kadian enthusiast like all the other BXGs but the recent 232323 timing is making me 👀. Yes we know you Love Zhan.

Time is 14:30, but it can be 2:30 so it keeps up with the 23. I think the reason why i’m drawn to this CPN is it was posted a day after the whole yibo relationship rumor. If you look at YBO’s page, after the post saying the rumor is fake, the next one is this. So it’s like saying, those rumors are false and I only love XZ. 23. 🤍

• the emoji similarities between xzs and ybo used in their douyin posts. not only that, it’s a match for ones during OOL ( Gu Wei ) and BAH ( Chen Wei ). I mean, do they ship them too?

• I don’t really believe in 🍉 unless they are about upcoming product endorsements cause I think those can be leaked by the brands themselves. but during HB’s initial run, there was one with 2m followers who shared that XZ bought multiple screening slots for the movie.

The melon didn’t say he bought it because of WYB, it only mentioned WYB because let’s face it— his name is associated with it and he is actively promoting. What’s so entertaining to me and makes me grin when i think of it are the people’s comments. HAHAHAHAHA! They know what is being implied. You all know deep down there is some truth it but you refuse and say all kinds of things.

but I got you. If you want to dip your toes back into 2024 cdramas romances,

* Legend of Shen Li is almost universally liked. I don't know that I encountered a real hater. Don't turn that into sky high expectations that can't be met, though. It's simply a solid xanxia romance with a very strong landing - 1 full length episode dedicated to the happy ending, instead of the xanxia standard 1 minute. The most high god in the universe x demon general who is engaged to heaven's notorious playboy that's terrified of her. and who is temporarily a chicken. (just go with it) The main couple have chemistry & are very capable actors. Rarely do I make it thru a xanxia without ever being consumed with rage at some awful thing the plot has one of the main couple perpetrate on the other... but this one passed! The main actress is convincing as an immortal warrior.

* Blossoms in Adversity is NOT universally liked, tbh it got almost no traction on tumblr. But despite all its flaws I found myself watching it eagerly. I am a sucker for historical costume dramas with feminist themes - if you enjoyed Dream of Splendor, this one might appeal. After all the men in the family are exiled and they are stripped of their noble status, the main wives, concubines, children, and servants of a large official's household have to figure out a way to survive on their own. Without the guidance (and yoke) of men. The strength of the drama is that it isn't easy - these women are not all kind & smart & selfless. They're complicated people and a product of their environment. But watching them slowly come together was so satisfying, and how all the women begin to explore an identity beyond the strict roles they held in that manor. It's so direct about how much power men had over their wives in that era and what that means for these women. The main otp will appeal if you like ships of 2 mature adults who have their own goals and respect each other as equals, who are supportive but don't step on each other's independence. The FL's practicality was so pleasing to me. It just dropped it's final episodes via Express.

* The Spirealm available legally now on Viki, if your tastes run to censored gay romance. And if you like mystery/ horror and like fiction that asks, what is reality (and does the definition of 'real' matter). Like in korean bl Love for Love's Sake, the protagonist enters a game world and ends up caring about that world. (unlike LFLS, a distinct lack of kissing with tongue)

* In Blossom - Chinese het web novel vibes just exploding onto the screen. Childhood sweathearts torn apart years ago, now he's a rich noble while she's poor but he still wants to marry her as promised. (She is less sure about this.... then she gets her body swapped by this crazy chick who really REALLY wants to marry the ML. who, ooops gets murdered on their wedding night.) So now FL is in crazy chick's body and the #1 suspect for her gruesome murder is ML, that childhood sweetheart who showed up out of the blue to propose. and happens to be the top candidate in running to marry the crown princess 🤔🤔🤔 . She thinks he (tried to) kill her. He thinks she's dead and hates the lady she's stuck impersonating. Spoiler: they fall in love.

* Amidst a Snowstorm of Love - Slice of life soft cdrama, if you like that kind of thing. Developing relationship for like 30 episodes about 2 professional snooker players. Relaxing vibes, sweet romance. They're both kind, talented, and capable. They're good for each other and really humanly awkward about starting a relationship. You don't watch this kinda drama for dramatic tension, you just chill with it and wind down after a hard day. It's baked-in that they'll get married at the end.

Cause I need someone’s opinion on this 😂 see I’m always between INFJ and INTJ (as in it’s usually a 51/49 split) but then again it’s not that simple right? Because of the functions of the types behind all of it - and with everything I’ve read about the differences between the two I still find myself in both.

Would you say there are some definitive indicators for one or the other? If it weren’t for the functions behind the types I’d simply say that it varies from time to time but then I’ve been bashed by people who are way more into MBTI saying no you can’t have two types 😂 it’s silly I know but I’m confused myself because I find myself in both types and yet when I compare the two types objectively they don’t seem that similar at all 🫠😂 sorry if this is silly

but tbh, i do think a lot of the test is able to be manipulated. there are definitely people who WANT to embody certain traits, or maybe they do like 30% of the time, and they will answer in that way bc they're biased. so i don't think it's always 100% accurate.

and i'm sure your type can change depending on the situation/ what kind of day you're having! i mean think about it like this: all of us, to a certain extent, have slightly different personalities around different people. it's the way we're wired to be. just to be able to "mesh" well with others. so i think depending on the day you've had/ who you've been around, you can def get slightly different results!

now, i don't think it'll change COMPLETELY. of course we all have our baseline personalities, or the one we display when we feel comfortable being 100% ourselves. i think that's mainly what people think of woth mbti, but again, it CAN be a little off. and that's totally normal ❤️

She, being just an average ocean Nav'vi with no warrior spirit in her (kind of like a temeperment similar to Tsireya) can't understand a word of English, and Miles can only understand 5% of what she's saying. They have lost their only reliable translator (Spider), so Miles wants to learn to communicate with her directly because he hates 3rd party communication anyway (as shown by his continued attempt at learning and speaking Nav'vi). He starts to teach her English using his very limited Nav'vi that Spider had taught him.

At first she is of course terrified of him cause he just took her to a place filled with Sky People (of which her only experices with involve deaths, cruelties, and pain). She wonders why he took her with him (spoiler: he took her cause she helped him, was cute, all alone, and the lost/scared/helpless eyes she gave him when he initially came across her got to him. I imagine she looked similar to how Tsireya looked when her dad yelled at her for her allowing Lo'ak to bond with the outcast).

As Miles starts attempting to talk to her in her language and teach her his own language, she starts seeing another side of him. The side that loves his comrades, loves his son, had listened to his sons pleas for mercy on her people, has strong duty to his people (which is respected in her village), jokes around with her and his comrades, and protects her even when really has no reason to since she's technically the enemy. She has to fight this growing warmth and respect for him with the horrible things she sees him do to her people for his mission and personal vegnece against jake, and the horrible things the Sky People he has strong loyalties to continue to do to her home of Pandora. Ofc they are also both physically attracted to each other so this can be mature rated if u feel comfortable (I surely wouldn't mind a bonding ... or several occuring).

Mostly, Miles teaching her English and trying to get past her initial fear of him and all his dominating "demon" presence when he can barely communicate with her. It'd be cute if the first thing she learns to call him is "colonel" because that's what everyone calls him. And even though he later teaches her his name, she still calls him that endearingly. Like, "Miles" is for when she's mad at him 😂.

Miles is real patient with her because she is a good girl. Shes just mostly scared and confused by many things in her new environment (her own emotions most included). Miles is mostly just being himself around her, very aware that shes watching him quite cautiously and curiously. Because of her distrust of Sky People, she's by Miles' side alot, but mostly stays silent because she can't really understand what others are saying around her in rapid English so she just pretty much ignores everyone else and focuses on her Colonel. She reads his eyes, his ears, his tail, and his breathing just to know what's really going on with him. Even after she learns some english from him, she has also learned to understand Miles without his having to speak. Miles keeps his Nav'vi by his side and she answers to no one except her Colonel. Legit Miles would be mad protective of her. No one touches her but him. Real territorial ish. I'm sorry this is getting outta hand. 😂

I adore the whole idea of her being able to read him without necessarily understanding the words coming out his mouth, I think he pairs so well with someone like that (lord knows that man would rather have his tail bitten then talk about his emotions).

Would 10000% be extremelyyyy over protective, that terrified expression on your face the day he met you still makes him grimace. You’d have to always be in his eyesight or tucked safely under his arm.

I also think that once you had settled down at his side, the crew would begin to accept you more - your kind nature practically forcing them to.

Everyone already shared their queer headcanons a week ago. So here I am, right on time to once again be behind on everyone else 😃

Am I the only one who has a queer headcanon for Jeff? Anyway, he’s bi. Realised it late as fuck though. After he was already married to Lucy and they had Scott. Not that it mattered for the marriage, I just meant that Jeff was an idiot late-bloomer. I image the conversation went something like this:

Jeff: Honey, I think I’m bisexual.

Lucy: Omg, you didn’t know?!

Jeff: You did?! Why didn’t you say anything?!

Lucy: I thought you knew and were just really casual about it!

Additionally, I feel Alan is a firm believer that gender is a social construct and he doesn’t vibe with the traditional (binary) concept of the male gender. He still labels himself as male (using he/him) because he’s comfortable but with that, but he doesn’t care much what other people perceive him as or call him (unless they’re being purposely offensive).

Early Thunderbirds-days me was still cis-het and complimenting myself for being so emancipated for identifying with the queer character of a show whilst not being queer myself. Oh how the mighty have fallen …

This is a bit of a strange ask, but I'm still confused over Usagi's last name. Some tell me that is Miyamoto his last name and that Usagi is his first name... but then others tell me that Usagi is the family name 😂

Just wanted to ask.

Gelu. You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this ask. I have been preparing for this very moment. I'm ready to answer this and I already know I'm going to fail miserably at explaining. Here goes.

Usagi Yojimbo. In the comics, "Miyamoto" is the surname / family name, we know this because his father is Magistrate Miyamoto. This makes our titular character Usagi, his first name.

Usagi Chronicles. In this animated series, we know that Yuichi is descended from Miyamoto. However, his name isn't "Miyamoto Yuichi", Yuichi is in fact his surname / family name. That means they both share the same first name, Usagi.

In Japanese fashion, the family name comes BEFORE the first / given name. Let's take George Washington for example. To do so properly, it would be "Washington George". So if we see "Miyamoto Usagi" and "Yuichi Usagi", that means their last names are in front of their first names. If you watch any Japanese shows or movies, they introduce themselves with their last name first and given name after, and people will call them by their last name. In TMNT 2003, he specifically introduces himself (and we will ignore the poor pronunciation of Japanese words including his own name) as "Usagi Miyamoto". This is so that the Western audience knows Usagi is his first name, Miyamoto last. (Also told the audience his last name was Miya-ma-to but uh. We're ignoring it, right?) This is not the proper way for him to introduce himself if he were being strictly Japanese… we say it's fine because it was for an English audience at the time, but this is the only time (that I can recall) his name being introduced in this way.

Typically in Japanese fashion, when you first meet someone or are on acquainted terms, you would only refer to them by their last name and add "-san" to the end, until you become closer and can use a different honorific or use their given name. However, all of the Usagi series have been adapted for western consumption, so they use their first names in all of this familiar media. The western version of "formal" or "polite" in a Japanese setting is taking the first name and adding "-san" to the end instead. So in 2003, Usagi calls Leo "Leonardo-san", and Leo calls him "Usagi-san" back. In 2012, the same thing. When you meet someone who is older than you in the west, you would usually say "Mr./Mrs./Mx. Lastname". That is the English equivalent of what "-san" is, loosely. I'm not sure why western media wants to flip names and add -san to it anyway, since we do use last names sometimes? Mr. Obama… Miyamoto-san. We can also chalk this up to relationships, as Leo and Usagi have been close in every iteration, perhaps they just went to the "first-name-basis" immediately. (copium)

I don't know if you've noticed, but there are a lot of Usagis! Even just 2 is too many, and I have 4! (Well, one was married in, but still.) In my case, I wanted to be able to have multiple samurai rabbits out in the world of Rise, but I couldn't have them all named "Usagi" unless that was all their last name-- which meant they all also had to be directly or indirectly related to each other. Which posed other problems, like… what about Magistrate Miyamoto?? Well.. he's still related, just differently. I know some important plot points get washed out when you move characters and their specific roles around, but that's exactly what ROTTMNT does, and excels in. So we do some problem solving, we write every idea down, and then we iron out the edges.

I am not an expert in the naming culture of Japan, though I can understand why people might be confused or spread misinformation as though they are correct. It takes just a little bit of reading and context to understand, which I hope I've been able to provide. TBH I still get confused, but that's because I am actively doing it differently by going against what it normally is.

TL;DR - Usagi is the first name in all published media, with Miyamoto and Yuichi both being family names. The proper way to introduce oneself in Japanese is [Last Name] [Given Name], which Miyamoto Usagi and Yuichi Usagi both follow this rule (and are both Japanese). In my fanon, I have too many Usagis in one time period, so Usagi is the family name and everyone can still keep their original name. Hope this helps!

I wanted to write this two weeks ago

Hey y'all :) I've been spending a lot of time thinking about things that I want to do instead of going out and doing them, so this first post is dedicated to letting my ideas live outside my brain.

When I thought about how I wanted to record this journey I knew I wanted to do some kind of blog. I think my personality better suits vlogs but there is still a part of me that feels a little uncomfortable taking up space in that way. However, I don't want to restrict myself so I'm thinking this will be a place for my ramblings to exist in whatever form (text, video, audio & pics).

As a person with a poor memory I have found archiving events, particularly through photos (but also audio diaries and journaling) really helps me remember myself, my accomplishments, and my trails. So I knew I wanted some kind of informal space to reflect on life in Brazil. I told myself a monthly update would be manageable and yet here I am almost a month and a half in writing my first post 😂. I say all this with no shame- just want to acknowledge that to some I moved and fell off the face of the Earth so I am v sorry for my radio silence.

I think there was a part of me that felt nervous to share & give updates because things have not been rainbows & butterflies. I wanted to have a ton of photos from trips and cool events to show off but tbh a bitch has been in the crib. If anything, I realized this past month and a half has had a lot more to do with me learning how to live with my partner, navigate relationship conflict, be transparent about my needs & in tune with my body. I definitely feel like my time and attention has been more inward and concerned with my home/private life than anything really to do with Brazil.

At first I was frustrated, I felt restricted, disappointed, and irritable. Things just weren't easy and a bitch can list some reasons why:

I don't know the language

My grandmother's health has been a major concern and it feels harder to navigate while being so far away

Missing my friends/community/loved ones

Constantly hearing about phone theft & other robberies and not wanting to look like an easy lick- but also feeling confused knowing my ass did not just come from Atlanta, Philly, and parts of Trenton to be worried about "crime" over here

Struggling with a lack of structure/routine

Thinking that being with my partner would feel like all the times we've vacationed together

I felt insecure about doing things on my own, but I had to embrace that because following other people's rhythm didn't satisfy me. As a person who is already naturally shy and reserved, constantly feeling outside my comfort zone without a new established safe space or outlet has been sooo hard. I would either feel fatigued or high strung from socializing. Too nervous to do things solo or overly concerned with how out of place I felt and how easily my anxious energy could be read by others.

I was constantly denying myself out of fear and minimizing my feelings. I came with a lot of big dreams and aspirations, and I think they are still possible but I'm realizing it just won't be as straightforward as I imagined- and that's ok. I need to be a lot more intentional here and that means putting in the work, energy, and consistency to live how I want.

I've already seen so many things that I've come to love about being here:

I am a five minute walk away from the ocean and living this close to the beach has been so healing for my body and spirit

I eat good everyday!

The party/dance culture here is incredibly liberating

I live in a beautiful black queer ass city

Seeing people w piercings and tattoos as a common/normal body mod is deeply affirming

Space and time feels slower here- it made me restless at first but surrendering to this pace has actually brought me more freedom to be curious about myself, my art, my spirit...

Things haven't been bad but my arrival didn't fit my expectations. I've had a lot of growing pains and mini breakthroughs. Now that I've had more time to adjust I want to play an active role in making my desires match my reality. I know things won't change overnight so I'm glad I'll be here for some time. 1. How many works do you have on AO3?

I went to count, but AO3 luckily has the amount of works in a bracket, so, 6!

I thought I had more but, nope. Those are just the WIP's that have no endings or a first chapter written now gathering dust, lol.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

I had to break out my calculator for this, because it's hefty. Anyway, it's 98,934, and now I'm mad it's not 100k exactly. 1,066 words to go!!!

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Bridgerton, and that's it. I don't know if I will write for others just yet because no other show or series has that kind of chokehold on me yet.

It's weird looking at the kudos as they stand currently, only because I see them in my inbox and just think 'oh, yay! Kudos!' but seeing them in one go is pretty fun? It's weird (in a nice way) to think so many people have read or engaged with a fic.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I do my best to, and it's because I genuinely like the engagement with your readers and other authors. It's something I did during my original fanfic era and one I wanted to continue when I started writing for Kanthony.

In part, it's due to my gratitude for a person taking time out of their day to read what I have written, and also because I personally enjoy receiving a message from an author who created something that resonated with me, or simply made me giddy.

Speaking of, I need to reply to some comments for Made to Be... be right back.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Have I had an angsty ending yet? I don't think so.

I'm not in my angst era of writing for Kanthony just yet, but it'll happen. It always happens...

OH, WAIT! Maybe the crack!fic of the table Anthony and Kate do the deed on constantly. Poor table! There is no happy ending in sight for it 😂

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

My fanfics are mainly smut, so they're all happy endings 😂 but for the sake of answering this, let's say Sugar Spike as it's the only complete one with a concrete ending.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I'm waiting for that to begin with bated breath, mate 😂

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I'm convinced it's all I'm gonna write at this point, and it's usually the banter-fuelled type with lots of Anthony worshipping Kate. Probably a bit vanilla for some, I'm not one for anything too out there, but I enjoy the fact they kinda pine for one another and will be hungry for each other an then tender when needed.

(My brain thought of the word tender, and I promptly thought 'mmmmm, chicken tenders. Brains be weird)

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

So, I haven't in a while BUT when I was a looot younger, think pre-teens and early teens, I actually wrote a fair few crossovers. I think the weirdest was Xiaolin Showdown with anything from Teen Titans, to various anime characters and such making appearances. Pretty sure I still own the notebook I wrote that in.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes. I laughed when it happened, but this was years ago. If people are gonna steal, they will steal. It sucks, but people prove time and again they're not all that great sometimes.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Nope!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope to this, too! I'm unsure how I would go about it tbh, I am so easily confused sometimes... but I love when authors partner up and create something beautiful together to share with the world.

14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?

Kanthony, duh 😂

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I think it'll probably be one I have had in the works for AGES, and is supposed to be like 4 or so chapters long. It was my first foray into a slightly possessive Anthony, which was fun, but unsure if I managed to capture him correctly.

Do I want to finish it? YES! If I post the first chapter, it might actually force me into gear with it, but for now it sits in my drafts, gathering cobwebs and dust in WIP jail.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I had a hard time coming to terms with it, but dialogue. I actually considered this my weakness at one point, but I've come to realise it's where my strength lies mostly.

I think detail is also a strength. I love writing surroundings and feelings, and detailing everything. Of course, this can also be one of my greatest weaknesses.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I have a hard time fitting other characters in outside of the main couple. I seem to have a lens on one thing at most times, and that can hinder things in regard to progress of the greater story. Of course, Bridgerton has a giant cast of characters which makes things difficult at times.

I am also far too wordy, and I have a bad habit of repetition and over-using the em dash (—). I suck at grammar too, and can info-dump a fair bit. I also have this terrible tendency to edit while I write, which means I don't create a plan or outline or general skeleton, and that hinders me greatly sometimes.

I also swear a lot in fics, which can be seen as good or bad, but I rely on it too much sometimes. Also, I take too much time to write or edit sometimes and hate that aspect of myself when writing. I just wish I could write without a worry and then edit later, but nope! I have to take time, and if I'm in a really bad mental slump, it can take ages to write.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've tried it once and honestly, I think it's great if you know the language or have done some research into it. I didn't know the language well enough when I tried it once before, so I haven't returned to it again.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Teen Titans! The OG cartoon series, not the newer one.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

'The moments in-between' and 'Made to Be'. I can't really choose, but all of them have a special place in my heart for various reasons.

MORE RAMBLING ON THE 3 BODY PROBLEM NETFLIX SERIES

⚠️ Spoiler Warning for the series & books ⚠️

Unfortunately, this is mostly gonna be negative ranting because I am discovering that I am, indeed...a book purist... *CONFESSION 😔* yes, my fellow mortals...I am one of those "but that's not what happened in the novel" kind of person.

This series is low-key pissing me off with what they are doing with ye wengjie. You know....the most crucial character of the whole saga! Why is she all of a sudden in love with Mike? Ok. And why is she trying to save people all of a sudden? She wanted to destroy humanity for what was done to her. And then it was implied she changed her mind along the way...still having enough badassery in her to leave a crucial theory behind with Luo Ji, which, ultimately, did secure humanity's survival. Atleast, for some centuries. They also didn't do so much of her backstory properly. But they be throwing those easter eggs around like "HA-HAA YOU GET IT?!" Why is she in love with Mike Evans?! Why did the show make her look like she got influenced by him rather than the other way around in the books and cdrama. Why did the show make her feel so shallow... They did make it feel like so much of her strength and character did not exist. They took away so much depth and complexity from her, making her look like she did what she did 'in the heat of the moment'. There is SO MUCH that she endured in the source material. And she made all her decisions knowing FULLY what she is doing, under no one's influence. It's like...they villainized her more when there was no need to do that. She is already a great villain. She is literally the phrase "sympathy for lady vengeance" personified. Netflix 's 3 body problem just made her a simple bitter woman.

Also, genderswapping wang miao as auggie salazar. Cool, cool. I like it. What I would have liked more is if they didn't write auggie to be so annoying. Idk if it's the actor or the character writing but this is the worst performance of the cast in terms of acting. You know what, no...this is the writing's fault. I have decided. TBH the only interesting characters right now is Jin and Wade. I am not sure it's because of the actors performing great or the writing is really good for them tho. Also...the Will buying a star for Jin didn't hit me as much as it did in the book. Kinda disappointed in myself with that. Am I getting cold-hearted? Jin's boyfriend is that character I think...hmm. Will, Saul and the rich dude, they all acted like I was watching a YA Netflix series. Oh wait...

Idk how else to say it but they have netflix-ified all the characters 😂😂

I think those who didn't read the books or watched the cdrama would like it better. I am either too biased to like this watered down version of the original story or the show really is underwhelming.

They have "simplified" or dumbed down the whole story.

And I find that low-key offensive because the sciency parts and philosophical parts were not that complicated. General audience could have understood it. If I can get it then all can get it, and I could understand almost all of it. But the creators don't got enough fate in us. SHAME. They also completely slipped the part about how China's political and social environment had influenced the characters. So much meat from the story is just hollowed out. They basically took out all the seasoning that made the story's flavour stand out so much. And gave us...this...jam and butter sandwich. It's not bad food. It's just not the feast it should have been.

I feel like I am only saying bad things about the show, so, here are the positives: the series is, in the end, an entertaining sci-fi so far, with great visuals. Especially, in episode 2 and 5. The gore is GOOD. Most of the actors do good job. The VFX is pretty fantastic. They have crunched the story but I don't think it's gonna be confusing for new viewers. The screenplay adaptation is done well enough imo. As well as a usual good Netflix show can be. You will enjoy it more if the original books would stop whispering in your ear the whole time 🤭

Either way, I will still say, it's a solid sci-fi thriller on its own as a Netflix series.

As a fan of the source material, I will give them 4/10.

As its own thing, I will give it juuuuuuust below 7/10.

ONE: Are you named after anyone? My middle name was for my mum's great-nana I think? Maybe great-grandma and I only think great-nana because we only had a great-nana. But not my first name, no. But fun fact: My parents ONLY had one name for a girl. If my younger sibling had been born a girl they'd have been fuuuucked. (Also part of why I keep my name despite it being v much female-coded because like I earnt this. Also, like... it's my name. It fits me, thought I more often than not get confused seeing it written down because like that's my verbal name, Mayo is my written name.)

TWO: When was the last time you cried? Last week? Little sleep + stress of moving = lots of tears at random times.

THREE: Do you have kids? Nope! Don't have pets either. I wanna foster/adopt/support (probably older kids/teenagers) at some point but not for a few years and I absolutely do not want bio kids. Pregnancy freaks me the fuck out.

FOUR: Do you use sarcasm a lot? Fairly often? I can't even tell anymore tbh like I just talk, even I'm barely paying attention to what I'm saying half the time! Less so online I think (this is where people are like nah mate you do that here too) because it's definitely been misunderstood before - sometimes making me look very daft and I'm like I don't know you people well enough to say that that was what is called a joke

FIVE: What sports have you played/do you play? I never found one I liked apart from, like, bench-ball. The fact that there aren't (that I've found at least) casual places to play bench ball as an adult is a fucking travesty.

SIX: What's the first thing you notice about people? Their smile/laugh/sense of humour? I'm really bad with faces, but if someone laughs or makes a joke pretty soon after I meet them, I remember them a lot more easily. Online it's definitely like the quirks of their writing style.

SEVEN: What's your eye colour? Brown! Pretty dark brown too so like none of the "ooh it's got XYZ in it in the light" it has brown with hints of brown

EIGHT: Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings - I am the biggest wimp with scary films. I was part of the "let's go hang in the kitchen with the leftover pizza/snacks" gang if horror films came on at a sleepover!

NINE: Any special talents? I'm not the biggest fan of cake, but by god will I make the best cake you've tasted. I can also do a good mix CD (less good at specific playlists because playlists it's just a big mess of great songs) and I can flick through to the right page in a book for a quote pretty easily - drove some people mad in English because people would be trying to find it for like five minutes and I'd just be like drrrrrrrr (idk how to write the noise for fanning through the pages) There!

TEN: Where were you born? At home, south of England (I'm very much Northern, being there for like two memories max one of which was falling asleep indoors doesn't count 😂). I can't remember if it was me or my older brother this happened for, but my mum went into labour in the middle of the night and woke my dad up and was like "The baby is coming" and my dear father went "If you still think so in half an hour, wake me up again" and rolled back over. Needless to say, he was not, in fact, allowed to go back to sleep. He also hates that story so we tell it as often as possible 😇

ELEVEN: What are your hobbies? Uhh I watch a lot of TV? 😂 I need to get more hobbies that get me outside tbh. But I podfic, I knit sometimes when I'm watching stuff and I play games when I watch stuff, I cook a lot, I bake, I like long walks on the beach actually I like reasonable length walks by rivers/green areas or along the promenade if I'm at the beach because sand (Anakin Skywalker was right and he should say it).

TWELVE: Do you have any pets? Nope! Just moved, but I used to help look after my friends' dog every so often - she's a black cockapoo called Luna and I love her dearly but she also made me realise if I do get a dog, I don't want a puppy. They are a lot of work. Which makes sense because they are literally baby

THIRTEEN: How tall are you? 5'7", please don't ask me for the metric - I haven't had to be measured in a while so I only know it in imperial. I wanna say like 167cm maybe? Does that sound right???

FOURTEEN: Favourite subject in school? English (Language over Lit) or French 100%. I always say that my optional GCSEs were all basically an extension of my skills in English (AKA bullshitting): Religious Studies (taught tbh as Christianity + a few other examples), French, Spanish (both still bullshitting just in another language), and Drama (absolutely bullshitting and also in my case scaring the shit out of an examiner because the plate smashed into lots of pieces that flew everywhere rather than just a few in a controlled space like it had in rehearsal)

FIFTEEN: Dream job? God I miss working in a cafe/events. But they don't pay the bills as well! Also like I would ideally want to do my current job 3 days a week and a manual job 2 but like without having to work lots of extra hours to keep on top of both, yk?

It's been two long years of perfecting my craft of being a therapy oriented tarot reader. Surely wasn't easy when there weren't many examples to follow, but I'm very happy I've stuck to my own colors.

So i was thinking to celebrate, I can do something fun! Re-do the same reading that I began my tarot journey with, and compare them.

I started with the past-present-future reading because three card spreads were said to be the easiest. The reading was completely messy, inexperienced, unconfident but oddly accurate in the moment. 😂

My past - Page of Swords.

I used to be someone set on exploring different ideas and topics, seeking knowledge. I was prone to having lots of ideas with no follow-up plan, or that didn't achieve completion. I was looking for a way to express myself.

Present - Queen of Pentacles.

I am currently a person focused on taking care of others, (especially family matters). The queen is a level headed being, set on making things happen rather than wishing for them, and looking for upmost comfort. She is skilled in economics?

Future - 4 of Swords.

Now is not the time to take major decisions. I need to take a break and retreat from pressing problems, analyze my past accomplishments to regain power to face new challenges. I need to spend more relaxing time with myself.

I was very confused about my future back then (i still am tbh) and i desperately needed that break.

So now... Two years later, I tried again. And the cards served, hard. I was dizzy for half an hour trying to figure this out.

I think the main idea the cards were going off of is who i used to be socially. IV of Wands points to frugality, V points to loss and emptiness. Truth be told, I didn't share myself with others socially for a long time. I was pretty antisocial and stuck inside my own world, pushing people away so that I could focus more on being responsible and efficient in my personal life. Present wise, IX of Wands signals letting go of defensiveness and the Fool points to being lighthearted. I've learnt to be more easy-going, be more open towards new people and let go much easier if I don't find people to meet my expectations. I no longer care how I'm viewed by outsiders and it's not as scary to communicate anymore. I allow myself to have fun socially now. Future wise, Ace of Cups is of course a card of emotional abundance and exchange of endless love. I am meant to be loved and offer my love openly to the world.

Funny enough, the carda confused me this bad because there was a second topic in the cards. Mentality.

In terms of mentality, I grew up with a mentality of making the best out of what I had and lived with less than the bare minimum for a long time. My brain has been geared to always be in emergency mode and every single day was a fight to make sure everything was alright for everyone other than myself. I was harsh and mean to myself and always at my limit, but only blamed myself for not being good enough. Present wise, the cards say I'm aware of my mentality but I'm still not letting go of it. I need to learn to let go of this life and death caution, of this self judgement, of the need to make sure everything is perfect, but yet I find myself stuck in overthinking, in an inability to ask for help, in a self made prison. The fool wants to me to have fun and enjoy life without a plan, just try things out and live in the moment. Future wise, the ace of cups says I can reach self love and allow myself to be loved and spoiled. I can reach a point where I can help myself, I can ask for help, I can offer help to others, and I can input all of this love give and take in all the areas of my life - in a way that will feel truly satisfying, not just the bare bones of what one should receive. 😁

I can clearly tell I've grown as a tarot reader (and as a person) in these two years. The readings are much more complex and can even see into many topics at once! That's a great improvement. There's more confidence to my words, too, albeit I still get nervous sometimes when i do readings because I worry my readings won't actually be helpful to people. But I try to shake off the nervousness 😊

I don't know if this is gonna be read for anyone but thought it would be interesting to new readers, maybe. It does get better, I swear. I know it's overwhelming at first but once you practice enough, you'll learn to twist interpretations left and right until it all fits and feels right 😊

okay, so final thoughts:

it was great, I loved it, I enjoyed it, so much of it was just perfect, the casting, the chemistry, the development of their relationship - amazing

obvi they had to cut a lot bc limited time etc but I'm still bitter about June and the cornetto scene lol - I saw people say that it should've been a limited series, and I lowkey agree (plus the emails! obvi it's a different medium, and there were a few, but with how big impact they had on the story at the end, a series could devote more time to them fr)

I also saw some people say that the pacing felt rushed but i didn't feel that tbh, it was great

overall, immediate impression: fucking loved it, I cried, I laughed, it kept my attention the entire time (which is difficult lately lol) and now I really wanna reread the book even more haha

it was a fantastic queer romcom, I still wanna cry over it - there were quite a few changes to the book, which always kinda sucks, but as someone usually lowkey critical of adaptations bc I can never get over the changes lol, this one won me over pretty early on, it was just such a great watch, definitely gonna rewatch at some point - maybe after I finally reread the book 😂
